    Buddy after training.

I took in a new dog sight unseen in April of this year. He was recently neutered and about 18 months old. His prior owner was facing a health issue, and he kept breaking out of her yard and running wild in her neighborhood. I found him to be without ANY manners. I was in danger of being knocked to the ground any time I interacted with him. As he weighed about 65 pounds already, he needed trained ASAP. I searched for a board and training program in hopes of turning him into a companion quality dog. I chose PHDogs after reading the reviews and complaints about the various local training options. They had to pick him up from my place as he wouldn't get into any car. They reported that he really was one of the most challenging dogs that they have ever trained. His trainers worked with him multiple times each day. They worked with him for 4 weeks on crating at night, respecting fences, and staying within his yard. They worked on heeling, getting into and out of cars, and staying in a set "place." It took about ten days for him to get it. He still has his big puppy energy. After training he now walks on a leash calmly. He will get into any car when requested. He will crate as needed. In the house he settles down in his "place". If I didn't know better I would think that PHDogs gave me a different animal back. The only thing that I wasn't happy about was that their agility course wasn't in use in the warmer weather and I had really hoped that agility training would give me a good way to help him burn some of his energy safely. Otherwise, these trainers are miracle workers. If you are looking for a dog training program, I recommend PHDogs for training or boarding your dogs.

My pup's home away from home. We use the boarding regularly. My sweet girl can be a handful and they seem to love her as much as I do.

Pool Rental We always had difficulty finding a clean safe local pool to swim out dogs at, until Phdogs got a pool. Private use once we proved the dogs could get in and put safely. Now we rent it at least an hour a week to get our pack cool exercise and keep them in shape for Pool season. I heard they're getting an even bigger pool this year too.

I got my Belgian Malinois at Du Poilu/PhDogs. I've never met a more loyal, intelligent, well bred dog. We still seek the help of Bethany Preud Home for training advice. Between her and her husband Jean Luc the sources of knowledge are endless. And we rent the dog diving pool that is up to competition standard. PhDogs is the only place I will board my dog knowing she will not only be safe, but she is not going to loose all the hard work and training hours I've put into her even during a longer stay. Highly recommend!

We decided last minute to board our two dogs for two nights at PhDogs because our regular boarding location was booked for the weekend. When we picked them up everything seemed to go well, and the dogs seemed okay. However, when we got home, we realized that our 10-year-old golden doodle was wearing a bark shock collar. We assume that the staff forgot to take it off before we picked them up. Fortunately, their forgetfulness shed light to what may be happening behind closed doors. We thought we might have missed a detail in the contract we initially signed about the possible administration of a bark collar, but after reading it over it was not included in the fine print. This is not something we condone or gave permission for the staff to do, which we feel is completely unacceptable. Our dogs do bark more than usual when they are in an unfamiliar environment, but that does not give the staff the right to administer a shock collar without the owner's permission. They are dogs! They should be expected to bark! We tried calling to confront the situation but was sent to voicemail and never received a call back. Many experts and organizations (American Veterinary Society of Animal behavior) report that shock collars can lead to increased fear, anxiety, and aggression in dogs, which is why a shock collar is something we do not feel comfortable using with our dogs. As a dog owner it takes an immense amount of trust to put the safety and well-being of our pups in someone else's hands. After our experience with PhDogs, we would never recommend dog boarding here due to their lack of transparency, honesty, accountability and reliability. Included is a photo of the collar that was used.

[TL;DR] BEST DOG TRAINING WE HAVE EXPERIENCED. -Sign your dog up for training. -Do the homework given -Keep the training going Outcome = a good dog! It had been a couple months since my dog's last board and train with a different trainer and she had regressed a lot due to the fact that she was not able to get the same amount of exposure to dogs as she did at the other training facility. My dog had a lot of reactivity due to an attack when she was young. Prior to that she was extremely social and loved all dogs but now her tolerance had gone down. After doing a lot of research I came across PhDog's page and saw that Bethany was recently on a podcast. I listened and was quickly convinced that this was the place I needed to take my dog to for training. I contacted Bethany and described to her my dog's behavior issues, our concerns about signing her up for another board & train, and the training methods. She clearly explained to me her training methods, how she planned to train my dog, and her experience. Further more, Bethany was THE ONLY trainer who confidently explained to me that my dog's issues was not all aggression. She proved to be the most knowledgeable trainer that was able to clearly explain the difference between communication and aggression. I quickly signed my dog up for an evaluation the next day and knew I was already going to sign her up for a training program to address her issues. We showed up to her evaluation and was met by Bethany who took us in her facility and explained to us how she was going to evaluate our dog. Harley was met with some of Bethany's dogs, who are crazy obedient and well trained by the way. Bethany assessed my dog and then took us on a walk around the block to see how obedient she was with distractions. She concluded the evaluation by explaining to us her observations and advised us on what we should do. She asked us what our ultimate goal was with our dog and from there she would be able to modify her training to reach our goal. We expressed our concern about our dog regressing post training due to not getting exposure to dogs and Bethany informed us about her daycare options that our dog could come to after training. We were convinced and signed up our girl for her board and train on the spot. We dropped off our dog and picked her up two weeks later. Bethany gave us a lesson at pick up and homework to work on so that we could continue the training with our dog because with every trainer there is work for the owners to do to keep up with the training. No one is magical to fix your dog for you on the spot. Some people expect to drop their dog off and pick up a whole different dog. We knew our dog was not going to be completely reformed and more work was going to be done but Bethany was able to set a foundation for us. We intend to continue on with the training and keep working with Bethany. Currently our dog attend's Bethany's daycare once a week to continue her training and re-socialize her. You cannot believe the tremendous leaps our dog has made with the help of Bethany. She will back away from dogs that she does not like and I have yet to see her react to dogs the way she used to. Our dog also loves going to Bethany's! She jumps and goes crazy when we pull up to drop her off! That shows how well she treats our dog because dogs know the difference between good and bad. We cannot thank Bethany enough for all the efforts that her and her staff have put in to training our dog.

We came upon PHDog by chance and at the perfect moment. We were needing a safe place for our 7month puppy and checked out PHDog. We took a look and tried the daycare first and felt very comfortable to leave our fur-baby with them. We will definitely be back!!! Thank you PHDog for taking care of our fur-baby Lady so well.

Better late than never with a review, but I can only say great things about Bethany and Jean-Luc's operation at PhDogs. When we first adopted our 2ish year old Shepherd, Luna, we knew we wanted her to do well on and off leash since she would be accompanying on many adventures on trail. After lots of homework and trying a few other trainers out and finding myself disappointed, I then found PhDogs. I worked with Bethany in a modified AKC Canine Good Citizen Training program with Luna over the course of a few months. I learned a lot about training a dog I never knew, and enjoyed it quite a bit. After training, Luna came back to board with PhDogs for my wedding weekend. Outside of family, there is no one I would trust with my dog more. Thanks again, Bethany & Jean-Luc. Sending my sister and her puppy your way!

Another facility in Norco, Animal Care Services, said his DTAPP booster needed to be in his system for at least two weeks. Unfortunately, I was only one week away from leaving, and they would not make an exception. When I first called Smart Parke, the staff member I spoke with was very kind and reassuring. She told me I could bring my dog in for a private evaluation and mentioned that he already had an appointment scheduled. Unfortunately, it later turned out that the evaluation had not been booked correctly, which initially added stress to an already overwhelming situation. Despite this, Brooklyn completely stepped in and saved the day. She accommodated me without hesitation, handled everything professionally, and ensured my dog was evaluated properly. He passed with flying colors. From the moment I met Brooklyn, I knew my beloved pup was in good hands. She is clearly confident and comfortable with large dogs and genuinely enjoys her job. She is also wonderful with people. As a worried fur mom, Brooklyn completely put me at ease, calmed my nerves, and gave me confidence that my dog was safe and cared for. The fecal test came back with no issues, and her communication and organization were excellent. When I dropped my pup off, Brooklyn unfortunately wasn't there, and I worked with Brooke instead. Brooke was kind and responsive via email, which I appreciated. However, she did not seem as confident handling large dogs. She did not provide a collar long enough for my dog's neck and asked me to put it on myself. When I asked how long each of his three daily one-on-one sessions would be and what they entail -something I felt was important given the $150 per night charge--she was unsure and gave me an answer but initially made no effort to find out or confirm the answer. After I insisted, she called out to a manager who was sitting nearby with her door open, to which the manager gave a different response - the manager did not come speak with me until the very end and barely addressed me. Lastly , Brook said I would get a report card daily and when I didn't get one for the first day I emailed the store to which Brooklyn clarified the report cards are for regular boarding and didn't come with private. Despite this I ended up getting one each day which put our whole family at ease. While Brooke was polite and responsive, she appeared somewhat intimidated by my dog and lacked some key knowledge. That said, she did follow up promptly and answered emails, which I am grateful for. Overall, I give Smart Parke a 10/10 specifically for Brooklyn and the system she runs. She is exceptional with dogs and people alike, and her professionalism, confidence, and willingness to accommodate made all the difference in what could have been a very stressful experience.

If I worked in an establishment where quality of care and hospitality is on the forefront, I would put her in the back of the house - immediately. She has no business answering customer inquiries, she's a detriment to your establishment and reputation at that. I'm truly appalled at what I experienced. On May 8th, I texted to reserve a vaccine clinic spot for my dog and was told I'd receive a follow-up call to collect payment and hold the appointment. I never received a call. A week later, I reached back out only to be told the clinic was fully booked because "they've been busy." What pushed this from frustrating to completely appalling was Brooklyn's behavior afterward. I asked if I could speak with another representative or manager. Instead of handling that professionally, she mockingly changed her tone and said "hello" as if she had transferred me to someone else -only to then admit it was still her. It was immature, rude, and incredibly disrespectful. When I explained I'd still like a manager to call me back, her response was: "She's going to tell you the same thing, just so you know we still won't be able to take your dog." The issue is not just that they dropped the ball on scheduling. Mistakes happen. The issue is the complete lack of follow-through, accountability, and basic professionalism afterward. Mocking customers who are calmly trying to resolve an issue is unacceptable in any business, especially one people trust with their pets. If this is how concerns are handled, I would strongly advise you to reconsider
