The sales were very encouraging. 30% off skin care, 40% off many items and 50% off gift sets. The gift sets were smallish items and looked like the sets they give you when you spend big at the dept. stores. These are just the right size for me to check out a new line. Customer service was attentive but not obtrusive. I ran across this tidbit. The cosmetics company store is owned by Estée Lauder. I made an extra trip back to the store to have it removed. When I entered, the woman at the front radioed to the staff, saying, "Someone is coming in with an item that still has a security tag on it." Two employees at the counter watched me walk up without greeting me or offering assistance. I explained that the tag had been left on my skirt and that my receipt was available in my account. One of the employees looked at the skirt, then at me, and asked again, "Do you have the receipt?" Moments later, two additional employees came over and looked me up and down, examining both me and the skirt. I felt completely judged and singled out over a mistake that the store made. I would not be returning the item if the tag had been properly removed in the first place. As expected, the receipt was in my account--because I purchased the skirt legitimately. Yet the way I was treated suggested otherwise. The behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unnecessary. When I expressed how uncomfortable and offended I felt, the front associate responded, "Well ma'am, we've had a lot of theft recently." As if that justified the assumptions they made about me. Her patience was much appreciated- when she showed me something that wasn't quite "sparkly" enough or not the exact shade I had in mind, she didn't let it phase her and was determined to help me find what I had in mind. It was hard for me to describe the exact shade and all you can really do is keep searching and she was by my side, leading the way until not only we found something that I liked, but found an additional item that I liked too! Nikki's kindness, her energy, her authenticity, and her patience are extraordinary. It would have been so easy for her to just give me some half-@** service and go on about her evening, but I could tell that she truly cared about helping me.
