Walgreens - at least in Napa - has become a horrible place to get an RX filled. I had troubles the time before my current episode but this one was far worse. I have been a customer for many years and in recent years, have had only one order to get as needed. My RX history for that one has been very clearly shown on their site. Based on that and what I have printed on my last bottle, the expiration showed 11/21/26 with 7 refills remaining. So I placed an order. Soon after I got a notice (in bold red print) stating, "We're waiting for your doctor's approval." And that my prescription is delayed. I.e, they're requesting a new RX. WHY? I revisited my account on their site and lo and behold, the history that was there previously was completely gone. Three days later and there is no follow-up from either Walgreen's or my doctor. I had to reach out to my doctor to ask for a new RX that I could get filled elsewhere. (Not always a quick thing in a very busy office - took a day and a half to hear back.) But done. What kind of service is this? Awful - not to mention non-sensical. It was incredibly stressful for me and I will never set foot inside that store again. My RX is now ready to be picked up at CVS. read more

In the past few years this place never gets photo orders right or on time. Im spoiled from ours in Vacaville they are amazing and quick. This Napa one the only times I've ordered just prints they were not done on time or horribly printed or completely done wrong. read more

I've read they are understaffed. I can confirm this seems to be very true as evidenced by the HUGE waiting period for a simple prescription refill. But also, they didn't seem to know what they were doing and had to ask me the same information four times. And they lost my info twice. read more

I have been to this pharmacy a handful of times and one thing i can say is that they are extremely slow. However, this is not what this review is about. I had 2 prescriptions called into the pharmacy one was an antibiotic, and the other was steroids 10pills (this will be important in the review) Now because they are slow, I waited a bit to go pick up meds to give them time to have it ready. Was it ready when i got there? Nope because they were waiting for insurance or to see if i was paying out of pocket. Now i have all the information already in the computer. So needless to say, when i got there, it was NOT ready! So I waited around 15 minutes or so. When I went to get my medicine, the pharmacist let me know that the doctor had prescribed me 10 pills of the steroid, but directions were to take 1 for 5 days. So, I guess the other 5 were extra, is what I said to her, and she said yes. Now I drive home and take it out and see that I only have 5 pills not the 10 that doctor had wrote out for me. So, i called and spoke with the pharmacist. Let me just say that she was rude and definitely didn't want to give me a chance to talk and ask questions. Her reason for not giving them to me is because some people 90% of people will take all 10 and not read what doctor has prescribed and so they will keep those 5 pills on file. I am a grown ass adult and am capable of reading the instructions and I said I live on the outer part of town and so I have to come all the way into town and then wait a good 15 to 20 minutes to have the 5 pills that are mine to begin with? It was the most argumentative conversation, and I was so disappointed in her behavior and customer service. I will need to find another pharmacy when i am paying out of pocket for medicine. Do better Walgreen Pharmacy!! And learn some customer service for goodness sake. read more

I have had good experiences with using Walgreens this year, coming from another pharmacy previously. I signed up for alerts when medication is ready. It saves a lot of time. There are long lines at times, but I have found they are no longer than other pharmacies in Napa. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Pharmacist is ready to help with questions and concerns. I've been standing in the pharmacy line for 15 minutes. And 2 people have been helped. Now there's NO ONE working at the pharmacy. One of the associates just went to the back room and never came back. The store is nice. New. They have everything you need. EXCEPT anyone working here. Why use Walgreens instead of CVS? Have you seen the state of most CVS stores? It's like mayhem! However, when it comes to filling prescriptions, they've got their stuff together whereas Walgreens does not! There are two major problems I've had with this pharmacy. 1. A few months back, I was ordered an antibiotic by my physician and when I went to pick it up, they were unable to fill it because their prescription printer was down. Listen, I get it, things happen and I overlooked it as a one off. 2. Today, similarly, was ordered medication and as it's Memorial Day, I checked online to see if they were open. It said open on google, and my doctor called over and sent the prescription. When I arrived, only ten minutes later, the doors were closed and there was no one there. Closed. Sure, is it bad form by the pharmacy or the management of the store to not update their hours? Yes. Is that worth my writing a review? No. What makes matters worse, is I called my doctor, they rerouted my order to CVS and it was ready in less than 20 minutes. When picking it up, they told me my insurance was already processed for this prescription by Walgreens, even though they were closed. I had to pay full price and now will have to spend extra valuable time awaiting Walgreens to remove the bill with my insurance company and then go back and stand in line at CVS for a refund. So, of twice in the past year I've needed to fill prescriptions, Walgreens was unable to do so both times for really stupid reasons. Get your business together. You shouldn't be in the business of healthcare. read more

It's next to impossible to get someone on the phone, especially the Pharmacy. I finally got a mgr (Cathy) on the line & when I asked why the Pharmacy doesn't answer the phone I was told that they'd just gotten back from lunch. I don't know of any drugstore pharmacy that closes for lunch! When I asked if she could have someone take my call she said there was a line clear back to the Photo department. This local Walgreens has several amazing employees, but I want to point out one particular retail clerk who went above and beyond this past week. Her name is Merris spelling?). She stopped her routine completely to focus on my search for a couple of items. She took her time and showed me different brands located in different departments and made sure I had exactly what I needed, comparing prices, double checking for the correct size and the one most recommended. This Walgreens has gone downhill drastically over the years that I have come hereI used to put up with their shortened hours versus the competitive Pharmacies in the area but now it's not even worth it. They are rude, dismissive and not prepared to handle any of the services they offer (FedEx, photo, pharmacy, etc). The last straw for me was taking FOREVER on a prescription for a baby (that I had to have with me). I hope the pharmacy business catches up to telemedicine. The pharmacy is understaffed, exhibits extreme rudeness, and is unhelpful. If you choose this pharmacy, be prepared to spend excessive amounts of time getting even simple prescriptions filled. This pharmacy used to be the best when Melissa ran it. if I could give a zero now, I would. it has gone down hill terribly, aside from Claudia, the rest of the staff is untrained etc. and the pharmacy. now is so slow. example, ordered refills online on Monday, and are not ready Friday at 3.... The pharmacist for some reason has to double okay everything before it goes out. Stuff we had been on for months... it was recommended that I switch to Safeway pharmacy. I'm listening to folks in line one man was sent away yesterday after dropping off for a refill and it's still not ready today. they are telling him to come back AGAIN tomorrow Same story over and over listening to folks in line. Come back tomorrow seems to be the standard answer. Folks who were there with vaccinatio appointments have been waiting for almost an hour. UPDATE: I just got a notification that one of my prescriptions was picked up yesterday. I wasn't even in the same city yesterday. I checked my credit card transactions and I was even charged for this prescription that I 100% did NOT pick up. I really sense a sketchy scheme going on here. The Walgreen's pharmacy on Trancas is abysmally pathetic since MelIssa left. Not only does it take longer to get a prescription filled, then you have to stand in a long line with a very long wait to pick it up when it's finally filled. The last two times I stood in line 45 minutes both times. The are severely understaffed and is IMPOSSIBLE to reach the pharmacy by telephone. This problem has gone on for several months and does not seem to have improved. For those who can take the drive to the Walgreens in American Canyon, I recommend you go there. They are very professional, answer the phone promptly, are very helpful and take care of the prescriptions in a timely manner. P.S. you don't have to stand in line more than a few minutes. read more

When in need of a nail file, a girl's gotta have it pronto. Very neat clean well organized shop. We were directed to the right aisle, footings what were we're looking did, couldn't resist saying some Starburst while there. And during the checkout process, the woman went out of her way to get us a $2 coupon, which we didn't ask for, but she was super sweet and very chatty. Like most pharmacies they have a system to notify you when prescriptions are ready for pickup. So I had a text, an email and an auto phone call that two prescriptions were ready. The next day I went and stood in line for twenty five minutes to get the prescriptions. The clerk looks at the computer and says the prescriptions are not ready and will need to be filled! This has happened before, so its apparent that they need a refresher on how to handle their alert system. read more

DeeDee at the photo center was the most miserable rudest person I've ever had talk to me. I was waiting by the pick up line and she asked me "what" instead of hello or how can I help you, she couldn't find my order and I offered to give my confirmation number and she said it was "useless to her" after finally finding my order she said "it's not ready." Went into this pharmacy to pick up a prescription and encountered an "VERY ANGRY" rude pharmacist. My subscription was filled incorrectly and the billing was $100 more than it should've been and the pharmacist got angry and announced over the store loud speaker that she had a difficult customer and requested the manager. The store manager and another employee who were nice professional courteous. There is obviously something more going on here. I hope she has a better day. read more

The email notifications are flawed, so you have to call and wait on hold listening to annoying repetitive robotic voices saying "we're busy, please hold" until you get a human who then puts you on another hold. This store always has what I need. From Pedialite to prescriptions. They also carry a good selection of hair and skin products. Good business hours too. So, why am I taking the time to review this location? Today, I was compelled by one of their pharmacists who went above and beyond, even while busy with others. Specifically, a prescription fir a family member needed verified by UCSF. The numbers UCSF provided just rang and rang, or dropped her. She was persistent on her end, while I tried on my end.
