This review is how to save money at Sally's. First of all if your military you can be apart of Sally's membership for free. With this you will pay the members price which will save you money along the road if you are a faithful Sally's fan. Or you can pay $5.00 for the membership. Even if your aren't a faithful Sally buyer, in your Next purchase you save $5.00 at least that is what was advertised the past several years with this membership. Next, subscribe to their emails or text messages. They will text or email you money saving coupons like save 20% on your next purchase , save 40% on one item or save $3.50 when you spend $10.00 and shop on those days. Shears or blades can get very expensive. They also have specials like buy 1 get 50% off nail polish. Anyway, those are my money saving tips. Super rude employees and poor customer service. I ran in to grab a couple items and there's no one at the registers so i ask the girl (African American girl) which side is open. She replies "I'm not open at all" and then calls for someone to get the register. The other girl walks up (causation with facial piercings) and without greeting me rings me up and takes my payment (all non-verbal interactions). I grab my items and leave. The worse is going into an establishment and giving them your business and they act as though you are inconveniencing them! read more

I've been making a stop in here two or three times a year for beauty odds and ends over the last 10 years . My primary need for coming here has been GiGi brand waxing supplies and their variety there has always been well beyond sufficient. I most recently came in to get flexi-rods for my daughter and I to use for heatless curling. Their variety there was great as well, but their prices were a bit higher than I was expecting. Even so, I walked away paying around $15 for 2 sets of flexi-rods in different sizes. Based on my years of coming here, the pricing at this store seems to be a little high on some items. I don't think I've ever came in here and left feeling like I got a great deal on something (which sucks because, well...who doesn't love a great deal?) The customer service at this place is so-so at best. I've only been greeted once or twice after walking in (and that was when an old classmate was working here). On our flexi-rod seeking visit to the store, the woman working seemed like she was still busy getting the store set up for opening and didn't ask if I needed help finding anything. The store is fairly small, but I still had to look around to find what I needed. The general set up of the store has remained largely unchanged over the years though, so I've never had trouble finding my waxing supplies. To put it all together, I'll continue coming here for my waxing needs and the occasional bottle of crazy hair dye, foil strips and more. If you have specialized beauty needs and you're in the area, this is the place to go. read more

I went here to get extensions the other day, and the woman helping us wasn't trying to talk up the most expensive brand at all, in fact, she told us to get a cheaper one that had more hair in it and was of the same standard as the more expensive. Being in a small town this is pretty much the go to beauty supply store. The product selections are great and customer service is hit or miss. Usually the staff is friendly though maybe understaffed at times or once or twice I've had to wait to get my questions answered. Remember they're not trained professionals. I pretty much know what I need to get but if you're looking for more than the basics - it's probably better to go to a true professional (in regards to your hair). The prices are fair and even better if you get a Sally's discount card which is $5 annually. This will get you rewards and free money and discounts. Definitely worth the money. Overall parking is easy however it's dangerously close to other inticing shops, so beware when you think....I'm just going for a quick trip. Stay beautiful Yelpers. read more

Walked in looking for a new shampoo and conditioner to hydrate my curls. Asked the girl with blue hair and piercings if she knew of any or could recommend some. Her response "I don't know. I don't have curly hair so I don't know sorry." What? You work in a beauty supply store, you don't have to have a certain type of hair to be educated on the different products the store sells. I then went up to the short older lady working there (she looked oriental but I could be wrong) and I asked her the same thing I asked the other girl and she immediately told me about some new products they just got in for people with curly hair and how much positive reviews it's been getting. Mind you she didn't have curly hair either but at least she made an effort to help me. I loved her and ended up buying the products she recommended. I Am starting to be a regular at Sally Beauty Supply since the cruelty free options starting expanding. I took back some items that they informed me I could so I signed up for an account thinking they would hold the receipt on my profile. (They don't). The receipt I thought I put in my pocket and I couldn't find it when I went in so they said I would have to get a store credit. I pulled out the receipt that was in my back pocket right after the transaction. This is where it gets interesting I went right back in and I asked if they could help me and was told no! I called Vacaville! And they said a way to make it work. The manager yelled at me asking who I spoke to and who told her. This is the same person who couldn't answer my questions when I originally bought these items hence the return! They said they would do it only when I told them I spoke to customer service! The whole transaction made me feel like a criminal. I bought a few items and only returned two! I won't be coming back to Fairfield! read more

When I decided to go blond and bleach my hair sallys was there. I ended up buying a bleaching kit that turned my hair orange and then I re bleached it and it turned yellow. I thought I had messed up and was freaking out. Went to sallys and I was helped by Rosa, she assured me it wasnt bad and looked like it should after bleaching. (I started with darker brown hair). She helped me pick out a toner and developing stuff as well as a purple shampoo. I left sallys feeling better and confident that my hair wasnt a disaster. We went in for a toner to tone subtle yellow tint out of a fun bleach job to finish a style we had worked on for two days. They didn't have the toner we ALWAYS use so an employee TOLD us hey use THIS toner. It was Ash grey and we were like....um....Ash grey? We always use the purple stuff. She offered us this info and MULTIPLE TIMES assured us it would tone the hair pure white. Without exaggerating we asked FIVE times...are u sure? She was SURE. So we got it. Guess what? That gorgeous blonde we almost had achieved is now grey. Thank God I rinsed it out early. It was obviously not turning white. Now we can't do ANYTHING about it for six weeks at least after the bleach and toner. We were offered HORRIBLE advice that was flat WRONG. We didn't want this advice but we trusted that this store hired knowledgeable employees. Wrong. We are going to a salon tomorrow for advice and you can believe that this store will reimburse the cost of undoing this grey hair. My advice to you is don't trust these employees. If you have a concern, GOOGLE IT. Google knows more about hair than these people. This is legit bullshit. Legit. read more

I went in to find a new tanning lotion because my old brand wasn't cutting it and the girl helping me was very nice and pretty knowledgeable about tanning. I went in tonight to purchase a clipon hair piece and I was fortunate enough to find a very friendly woman named Michelle working. (This was my first time in this Sally's as I live in Vacaville.) Michelle was so helpful in helping me pickout the right shade for my hair. She was friendly and efficient. She paid attention to ME - not like when you go into other stores and the clerk is too busy talking to co-workers to show me any attention.
