I got to be honest here I had high hopes but it didn't live up to the hype. It's a busy street it's on but it does have a very small parking lot. Luckily, I got street parking! Staff were really nice you order at one window then pick up your food at another door (window). I got the carne asada breakfast burrito. It is so small for the price and barely any meat in it. If I paying $15- $20 I wanna see MEAT. I just thought the burrito itself was meh, blah. Not much flavor and the salsa was blah too. Honestly, I can pay that price and go closer to my house and get a good size filled burrito. It's only a take out place but they do have one table outside so that's nice.
Came back here to try few other options and here are some additional notes: * The coffee menu is hidden and posted on the right side of the wall inside the cashier counter window & separate from the breakfast burrito menu. * On weekends, the pickup counter is located behind the building in the parking lot rather than at the front window facing the street like on weekdays. * Free salsa, but customers need to ask the staff for it when picking up their order. * The drip coffee was surprisingly good & just as good as drip coffee from other third-wave coffee shops. * 2 Meat Combination burrito (bacon and sausage $13.75): It was not as good as the carne asada burrito. The sausage was slightly too salty for my taste. * Carne asada burrito ($14.75): This is definitely the one to get - amazing carne asada and a soft wrap. The price-to-portion ratio is a bit too high to come here regularly, but it is still a solid staple for anyone looking for an above-average breakfast burrito in the South Bay.
The OG breakfast burritos! I finally decided to give Phanny's a try. I'm here to say that it is indeed an above average breakfast burrito. Though I have to say that I prefer my Chori Man burrito for the flavor and proportion of meat vs other ingredients.
- Decent service - Decent prices - Plenty of parking spaces behind the building. - You order at the window and then wait at the blocked door for your order. - Waited about 10 mins on an early Friday morning. - Suggest calling in your order to avoid potential long waits esp on the weekends. - There's no indoor seating but I did see a table with benches on the side of the building. - Average sized bacon breakfast burrito - Request the salsa on the side. Forgot to ask when I ordered so my hash browns were no longer crispy.
I've been wanting to try Phanny's forever and I finally did! Picked up a few burritos to share with my friends at the beach and they did not disappoint. I had the asada one and it was delicious. Fast service and easy parking and ordering system. Loved it, I'll be back!
Great burritos and great coffee. Their muffins are too sweet and a little flowery. But, the service is good and the people are always friendly. There is usually a long wait and line on the weekends. Today we got there early so not too bad. *Tip: order on PCH side pick-up in back parking lot. Enjoy!
Excellent breakfast burritos, perfect beach food. I tried the sausage breakfast burrito which was sooooo good, so flavorful and the tortilla was perfection. The hash brown was the best I've ever had. Coffee was pretty bad (I got drip with creamer, my friend got a flat white and both were not great). Get your breakfast burrito here (we ate as a picnic on the beach,) and coffee somewhere else and you'll have a perfect meal .
Heard a lot about this place and decided to try it today. Parking lot in the rear with a kitchen door open with a table, container of napkins and container of straws. Assumed that was the pick up for carry out orders. No sign except for "Employees only." There is a door to the dining area, but it was locked; no sign. Walked around to the front. The dining area had the door open but it was chained off with a handmade sign. Something about Saturdays and Sundays. Didn't bother to read it. Order window was in the front off Sepulveda. By the time I reached the line, two parties that parked their cars after me were ahead of me in line. Oh wait, there is a walk through from the parking lot in the back direct to the front, close to the order window. Interesting. Again, no directional signs in the parking lot to clue anyone in. Breakfast burritos is what the served with the menu on the window. I wondered about what to drink but that menu was posted inside on the wall to the right, making it difficult to read. Since there were people behind me in line, I didn't bother ordering a drink. I ordered a Veggie Burritto and went through the walk through to the parking lot to wait for my order. It didn't take long so I guess it's just the new customers that don't know how it works and where to go. Ok, bye.

They told us it would take about 15 minutes to get them so we waited in the car. My husband came back out at 15 minutes and waited by the pick up area. He saw two people order then get theirs before him. He went up to the window and it turned out they forgot to make our order. Finally after 30 minutes with no one else waiting he got his order. He asked if they put the salsa on the side like he had asked and they ended up having to remake it again because they forgot. As for the food, I think it was pretty mid. I agree with other reviews that it tastes like something you could easily make at home. It was lacking flavor and salsa didn't really help. The size didn't help as well. It was underwhelming for the price you are paying. Unfortunately a pretty disappointing experience.

Must have before early morning stroll on the beach. Love their burritos! Perfect size and flavor is evenly distributed throughout the burrito. I will say I'm use to the bacon burrito having finely chopped bacon and today it was just cut in larger pieces which made bites a little more messy for me. Salsa has great flavor not very spicy though. Great location and wonderful staff. Can get busy we usually call ahead. Definitely recommend. read more
Great customer service! Friendly and efficient. You order at one window and pick up at another. It was busy when I went, but overall the wait time was not bad. I got a bacon burrito and it came out piping hot. I didn't eat it immediately and when I went to eat it, it was still hot! I really liked the size of the burrito. It wasn't huge but it wasn't skimpy either. Mine lasted two meals. Well, I had half and then the other half shortly after. There's a parking lot which makes it very convenient. I was able to find a spot easily. read more
Was craving a breakfast burrito and decided to try this place. I am usually not a fan of burritos but I really liked this one. I got the bacon one and it was crunchy and just perfect ratio of everything in there. I never finish a burrito but I sure did finish this one. That was a 10/10 !! It also did not taste greasy at all. My boyfriend got the 3 meats burrito and that was a disappointment because it hardly had any meats in there. My bacon one was more packed. You could taste more salsa than anything, he wasn't a fan. Customer service was okay. I wasn't even done giving my tip on the screen when the girl helping me was calling the next person over in line. Excuse me? Also, their dining room isn't open but they do have a small table outside enough to sit 4. Not sure we'll be back! read more

Came here because the reviews and I was in the area. I must say they did not disappoint. We recommended to get the Asada burrito and it was flavorful, it looks small but I was totally satiated. The service was good. Prices were more than I care for $16 for a burrito, I'd feel better if it came with a basic lemonade. Signage of where to pick up and place your order would be helpful. Nonetheless, I'd come back. read more

Very solid breakfast burrito - my friends showed me this place since they are locals and this is their go-to breakfast burrito place. Spots like this make me wish I had more breakfast burritos options back in NYC. Homey, not fussy, and soft tender eggs with warm tender hash potatoes inside as well. Delicious and I scarfed it down. I also didn't feel too heavy afterwards, either. The tortilla was tasty and light too. The chorizo was nice and savory/salty too. Would for sure come back here on my next trip to the area. I'm already salivating dreaming about these solid burritos from the south bay. They're also near the beach so they're the perfect location to grab a bite before you go off to grab some sun, or perhaps after! read more
Another great burrito at Phanny's! my go to is always the carne asada burrito - filled with meat and crispy hash browns. you can now order ahead online for faster and easier pick up! always perfect to grab and bring to the beach. pairs great with the iced hazelnut coffee! read more

Love love love Phanny's! The sizes of the burritos are just right, the flavor is unbeatable. My husband and I hunt for breakfast burritos all around the South Bay and there just aren't any that beat Phanny's. They offer more protein options than most places (highly recommend the pastrami or turkey sausage), there's a nice crisp in the tater tots/potatoes they use, and there's just something about the salsa. It's soo simple but it really gets the craving satisfied. Too many breakfast burrito places overdo it with the sizes and ingredients. Additional plus is that it has its own (small) parking lot, and the beach is just a walk away - you can truly get a top tier SoCal experience. Who doesn't love a good breakfast burrito on the beach??? read more

Food is always hot and delicious. You have to get the salsa too! Service is friendly and the wait time is quick. Such a short distance from the beach so we walk down to the promenade to enjoy. read more

Hyped, and I've given it 3 tries. Every time without exception cheese was bunched in one portio, super short on meat content. Mostly egg and hash as the filler. The absolute worst part about their menu is what they call "carne asada" burrito. The meat is a shredded beef and not carne asada, which is cooked on the grill. Looks like they buy cheap meat, slow cook it to tendorize it and throw it on the grill right before they put it in the burrito. The meat drips from the liquid and gets the burrito super messy. When you pay top dollar but get cheap ingredients like nitrite presrvative filled bacon and sausage. On top of cheap hormone filled cheese from corn fed cows. And you can't even try and deliver a decent burrito, but want top dollar. I say hasta la vista Señor Phanny! I really wish they would put more care in their food quality. But they are just cashing in instead. The insid is not well kept, everything is old and just holding up. The grill area is dirty just to name a few things. I could think of 4 places I rather go. 1. Brother's Burrito 2. Caps & Corks 3. Tigres Fuego 4. Baran's 2239 read more
Solid spot for breakfast burritos by the beach. The place is to go only and you order at a window. Their burrito wasn't anything spectacular and I felt the price was on the higher end. The basic egg burrito already started at about $12. There wasn't too much crunch from the potatoes since it was a bit soggy from the salsa that was included inside. I preferred the sausage burrito since it probably had the most amount of flavor, but overall I thought it was alright. read more

Solid burrito place for take out! Food: We ordered the soy chorizo and bacon breakfast burrito. Both were good burritos. The soy chorizo was surprisingly better than most soy chorizo burritos out there! These were solid burritos, but was not top tier. But I still think it's a great place to pick up a burrito to bring to a picnic or to the beach (nearby!). All burritos come with egg, cheese, hashbrowns and salsa! Ambiance: Take out only and no outdoor seating to eat. You order at the front and get called up to pick up your order to take out. They have indoor seating, but it's closed off (not sure when they will open indoor seating) Service: Waited 5 minutes before getting my order taken even though there was no one in front of us which didn't give me the best impression. Besides that, the service was just normal. Price for burrito was around $11. Not bad! Overall, good place to stop by for an above average burrito if you're the area! read more

Sad to say, Phannys is no longer what it once was. Went at 11am on a Thursday, it was relatively empty. My burrito came out in 5 mins, I continued waiting for my coffee and watched everyone who ordered after me received their coffee before me. After 15 mins I checked in, guy said he was making it. Then he proceeded to give me the wrong coffee, at this point im set back 20 mins and ask for a refund because I have no time to wait there like an idiot again. Then I bite into the burrito, and it's absolute garbage mush. It used to have a crispy hash brown, you would be able to differentiate the sausage, from the egg, to the cheese and the crispy hash. Now its just a nasty thick tortilla and mush inside for about $16. It's so freaking heart breaking, this place was such a gem for so long and now its just slop with shitty service and bumbling employees who can't offer good service. read more

If I were vegan I would probably find another place to eat that actually has food on the menu that is specifically vegan.

The soy chorizo is the only soy option they have. Everything else would be soy free.
