Located on the corner of PCH and avenue C, Phanny's has been a staple in the breakfast burrito game. I have been coming here years ago, but have not been in a min. Welp, I had an urge to get a breakfast burrito and Phanny's is the first place that will come to mind. I ended up ordering a bacon, sausage egg breakfast burrito with diced jalapeños. PHEWWWW. Wow Phanny. You did it again girl. WOW. 5 big booms all AROUND. There is no salsa needed. The flavor from the meat is enough. The perfect amount of saltiness, the perfect tortilla, the right amount of meat to egg ratio. This burrito did it for me. The added jalapeños add that extra spice and crunch. I love crunchy texture so the jalapeños def hit that need for me personally, and plus its a nice kick to it if you like spicy! Just do yourself a favor and try Phanny's out. Service was swift and kind. They are fully takeout only. I am unsure if this was a conversion after COVID or not, but it's a little sad to see you are not able to enjoy their breakfast burritos fresh and hot there. I believe there is only 1 outside bench seating off Avenue C. They do take apple pay, which I feel like they did not in the past. so no cash needed! There is a parking lot being the business off avenue C which is nice so you do not need to park on PCH or in the neighborhood to try to get to this business. I will def be coming back to Phanny's soon. Was craving a breakfast burrito and decided to try this place. I am usually not a fan of burritos but I really liked this one. I got the bacon one and it was crunchy and just perfect ratio of everything in there. I never finish a burrito but I sure did finish this one. That was a 10/10 !! It also did not taste greasy at all. My boyfriend got the 3 meats burrito and that was a disappointment because it hardly had any meats in there. My bacon one was more packed. You could taste more salsa than anything, he wasn't a fan. Phanny's is a super popular spot in Redondo Beach, and you almost always see a queue in front of it! It's not too bad, though, because the ordering process is simple, and the staff is nice! What's unfortunate is that the breakfast burrito is a bit disappointing. We found the meat salty, though the overall flavour was just ok. Generally speaking, we found the burrito unremarkable and have very little memory of it. Why people line up for such a burrito is a mystery to us. However, we did enjoy the vanilla iced latte. That was a solid choice that we can safely recommend. We have passed by Phanny's many times, especially since my wife's pilates studio is right up the road. Yet, we have not found any occasion to return to Phanny's for food. We just can't justify spending money and calories on a mediocre, popular burrito. read more

I got to be honest here I had high hopes but it didn't live up to the hype. It's a busy street it's on but it does have a very small parking lot. Luckily, I got street parking! Staff were really nice you order at one window then pick up your food at another door (window). I got the carne asada breakfast burrito. It is so small for the price and barely any meat in it. If I paying $15- $20 I wanna see MEAT. I just thought the burrito itself was meh, blah. Not much flavor and the salsa was blah too. Came back here to try few other options and here are some additional notes: * The coffee menu is hidden and posted on the right side of the wall inside the cashier counter window & separate from the breakfast burrito menu. * On weekends, the pickup counter is located behind the building in the parking lot rather than at the front window facing the street like on weekdays. * Free salsa, but customers need to ask the staff for it when picking up their order. * The drip coffee was surprisingly good & just as good as drip coffee from other third-wave coffee shops. * 2 Meat Combination burrito (bacon and sausage $13.75): It was not as good as the carne asada burrito. The sausage was slightly too salty for my taste. * Carne asada burrito ($14.75): This is definitely the one to get - amazing carne asada and a soft wrap. My partner got the chorizo burrito and actually liked mine was better!! While waiting in line, we decided to try their drinks. Heard a lot about this place and decided to try it today. Parking lot in the rear with a kitchen door open with a table, container of napkins and container of straws. Assumed that was the pick up for carry out orders. No sign except for "Employees only." There is a door to the dining area, but it was locked; no sign. Walked around to the front. The dining area had the door open but it was chained off with a handmade sign. Something about Saturdays and Sundays. Didn't bother to read it. Order window was in the front off Sepulveda. By the time I reached the line, two parties that parked their cars after me were ahead of me in line. Oh wait, there is a walk through from the parking lot in the back direct to the front, close to the order window. Interesting. Again, no directional signs in the parking lot to clue anyone in. Breakfast burritos is what the served with the menu on the window. I wondered about what to drink but that menu was posted inside on the wall to the right, making it difficult to read. Since there were people behind me in line, I didn't bother ordering a drink. I ordered a Veggie Burritto and went through the walk through to the parking lot to wait for my order. I've always thought breakfast burritos were okay or good, but this one.....the best I've had! It hit the spot & everything inside it was really good. Walking up to the window to order, the service was easy, fast, & great! I ordered the carne asada breakfast burrito & I could go for another one if I could, as I'm writing this. Came on a Friday morning with a little bit of line to order though it went pretty quickly. We heard a lot of hype about their burritos so we were pretty excited to finally try them. They told us it would take about 15 minutes to get them so we waited in the car. My husband came back out at 15 minutes and waited by the pick up area. He saw two people order then get theirs before him. He went up to the window and it turned out they forgot to make our order. Finally after 30 minutes with no one else waiting he got his order. He asked if they put the salsa on the side like he had asked and they ended up having to remake it again because they forgot. As for the food, I think it was pretty mid. I agree with other reviews that it tastes like something you could easily make at home. It was lacking flavor and salsa didn't really help. The size didn't help as well. The good: I tried the ham breakfast burrito and carne asada breakfast burrito. I also got a side of bacon and hashbrown for my kids. The bacon was very crispy and nicely shaped. The burrito wasn't dry and wasn't overly juicy or wet either so you could walk and eat it. The vanilla nitro cold brew coffee was delicious. I always see a line here and was glad I finally got to see what the hype was about. The bad: The hashbrown was super crunchy but tasted so much like just the oil. It was similar to McDonalds hashbrown (which I love) but oozed with more oil. They had a small dining area to the left but it was closed off. My burrito was too salty for me but I tend to like things on the less salty side. I wish there were more options for kids. The interesting: You order at the front of the store and pickup at the back. A local favorite for a reason! I have been coming to Phanny's for years since back when they were cash only. The place is small - 2/3 kitchen, with a small dining area of about 6-8 tables, and a small parking lot with about 8-10 spots. I'm super disappointed they have closed the dining area with no reason given. It's mostly a take out spot but it was nice to have a quick seat when we needed to eat there. The service is friendly at the cash register and quick for them to call your name usually unless there is a super long line. The burritos are Y-U-M-M-Y!!! Phanny's is a South Bay classic! If you're looking for delicious breakfast burritos by the beach, this is the perfect spot to hit up. I usually get the 3 meat combo breakfast burrito which comes with sausage, bacon and ham with cheese, salsa, eggs and hash browns. The burrito is pretty hefty-- I definitely can't finish it in one sitting. Ask for some hot sauce and they will give you some Tapatio packets which is a must for me! They have iced coffee there too which I have tried before but it was just okay.. not a must get. FYI there is no seating here. It's just a window that you order at to take to go. After you get your burrito, you can drive down a couple blocks and eat it along the beach while enjoying the ocean breeze. Doesn't get any more South Bay than that! Very solid breakfast burrito - my friends showed me this place since they are locals and this is their go-to breakfast burrito place. Spots like this make me wish I had more breakfast burritos options back in NYC. Homey, not fussy, and soft tender eggs with warm tender hash potatoes inside as well. Delicious and I scarfed it down. Hyped, and I've given it 3 tries. Every time without exception cheese was bunched in one portio, super short on meat content. Mostly egg and hash as the filler. The absolute worst part about their menu is what they call "carne asada" burrito. The meat is a shredded beef and not carne asada, which is cooked on the grill. Looks like they buy cheap meat, slow cook it to tendorize it and throw it on the grill right before they put it in the burrito. The meat drips from the liquid and gets the burrito super messy. When you pay top dollar but get cheap ingredients like nitrite presrvative filled bacon and sausage. On top of cheap hormone filled cheese from corn fed cows. And you can't even try and deliver a decent burrito, but want top dollar. I say hasta la vista Señor Phanny! I really wish they would put more care in their food quality. But they are just cashing in instead. The insid is not well kept, everything is old and just holding up. The grill area is dirty just to name a few things. I could think of 4 places I rather go. 1. Burritos were pretty solid, decent size. I got the two meat combo bacon and sausage for one burrito and chorizo for the other. My only regret is not asking for salsa on the side instead of it being on the inside. I think that would help keep the hash browns crispy. I took burrito to the beach which was about a 5 min walk. Chorizo def the winner. The lady in the front is super nice. I got their horchata which was pretty good, didn't cause me to have any taste fatigue from the sweetness like I normally do with other horchatas. There's no sit down, just take out. Sad to say, Phannys is no longer what it once was. Went at 11am on a Thursday, it was relatively empty. My burrito came out in 5 mins, I continued waiting for my coffee and watched everyone who ordered after me received their coffee before me. After 15 mins I checked in, guy said he was making it. Then he proceeded to give me the wrong coffee, at this point im set back 20 mins and ask for a refund because I have no time to wait there like an idiot again. Then I bite into the burrito, and it's absolute garbage mush. It used to have a crispy hash brown, you would be able to differentiate the sausage, from the egg, to the cheese and the crispy hash. Now its just a nasty thick tortilla and mush inside for about $16.
