I genuinely don't know how this place has a rating over a 2. I can't rate the service for the test since we never even got that far, but I wish I read reviews before choosing this place. They were also an hour behind, we waited out front more than 15 minutes before we were even addressed or greeted, so it was all a huge waste of time. Everyone commenting on how rude the older lady is, 100% accurate. We understood from the first moment they said it wasn't their fault we couldn't do the test today, but yet both ladies felt the need to repeat it and even put it back on us (make it our fault, not the DMVs) more than 5 times. Then they insisted I had to sign several pieces of paper with absolutely no explanation. When I tried to take my time to read what I'm signing, I was reminded another 2 times I had to sign it, to which I asked why. The only response offered was a repeated "because I need you to sign it." When I asked, politely at first, what I'm signing, I once again got responses about how she needed it signed, not what it was I was signing. Oh and not to mention she made it clear she's "not trying to argue" when all I needed was to know what I was signing and why. It was NEVER made clear that I would be charged a cancellation fee until I outright asked if that's what I was signing, which again the document did not say anything about cancellation, but rather it was if we needed to schedule a retake how much it would cost. $100 for the test is pretty steep and then knowing they charge you again if they fail you seems a little suspicious. Needless to say we won't return here once we've straightened out issues at the DMV. I truly hope you look around and try to find a better place. They lack customer service, communication skills, and frankly common sense. read more

So I paid $525 to get driving lessons and my son made a 65 on his test The instructor was nice but, my son failed first time driving and now I have to pay $50 so he can drive again. I am a single parent and money is tight they definitely are money hungry. Unfortunately I learned to late I thought they were going to work with him driving but, apparently not. The instructor, I believe her name is Mrs. Liz, She was so awesome. She explained the rules and expectations before we hit the road. Although we didn't utilize the classes, we did come when there was a mix up at the DPS and my daughter needed to take her driver's test. I was in a pinch and needed to get my test done quickly so I could leave for Florida to care for my mother. I was able to easily and quickly get in and get my test taken. Ms. Liz is very thorough in her explanations of what she's looking for and goes over everything prior to the test. I was so thankful to her and her staff for their kindness and for accommodating my needs. I even got a chocolate bar for my mother and I for passing the test! One caution that I didn't realize until I was already at my appointment- it's an extra $50 on top of your test fee to use their vehicles for the test, just fyi. read more

For starters, this school sucks! It's next to impossible to get anyone to answer the phone, schedule a drive time, finish the course on a timely schedule or get the final driving certificate. My daughter finished the course on October 21st and they mailed the certificate on November 14th and my daughters driving appointment was scheduled for November 16th. As you may have guessed, this screwed everything up. She wasn't able to get her license because the driving school told her she didn't need the certificate, when in fact she did. My advice, take your kid and money to Austin Driving School. Trust me, you'll be happier!! read more

Friendly on the phone, easy to schedule tests, but the test fees were more than double what we were first quoted. Bait and switch. The tester required retesting, which is $60 extra, for going through a yellow light. Fully on the yellow is legal. So this was just a ploy to jack up the fees. Then the tester said that another student's test was failed for another reason, but it was not illegal either. Another $60 charged, ka-ching, are you starting to get the picture? So finally, instead of paying $85 like their website says, we paid $185. $40 extra "because it's Friday" and $60 extra for a yellow light. Go be a customer elsewhere. Save money. read more

I am holding off giving a full and final review until we are thru trying to get my son's license. I believe in second chances, but don't have too much faith they will deserve a better review. We have been trying for almost a year to get a driver's license. No, my son is not a confident, seasoned, perfect driver-in-training, but he tries. Isn't this the reason you hire a driving school?? So far, I feel like this school has taken my money - over $500, but they want me to teach him to drive. She handed me paperwork saying I need to drive with him and write it all down, I am not joking. The driving instructor and the lady that runs the school apparently don't communicate well, as far as grading. The students are required to make a 70% if they don't- you will get a phone call offering private lessons for more $$ - this is stupid!!! This is a school- to teach my kid to drive - not public school! My advice right off the bat?? Stay far away from this nuthouse driving school. read more

We are very happy with Liz and her team. We did the "parent taught driver education program". My son went to the Pflugerville Driving School to take a 2 hour lesson, and then 2 weeks later he did his road test there. They were very professional and efficient. The school aspect of this place isn't half bad but do not take your driving skills test here! The only tester there will force a retest until you get over a 90 and will mark off on the most minor of things. The $100 Test fee is overpriced and not worth it for 2 tests and you'll most likely have to take the test 3 to 5 times. read more

After a very disappointing experience at the DPS, and up to a five week wait time to go to their driving test, I decided to look for another driving school. I called, and the woman on the line was incredibly helpful. She helped me book an exam the same day. DPS also failed to mention what I would need to do prior to the test, like watching the Impact Drivers video. The staff was incredibly kind, and let me stay while I took the course on my phone. The driving test took about 20 minutes, and the woman who administered the test made the instructions very clear, offering to repeat them if necessary. I am so grateful to have gotten this level of service, and so quickly. Please do yourselves a favor and stop booking with DPS. Come to the Pflugerville Driving School instead! They even offer you water, which you can't even bring into the DPS locations! Thank you, thank you, thank you. read more
