If you are anxious about driving, have experience but need more practice, or have never driven before and starting from scratch, this is the place for you! My kids had Mr. Vinklarek (son) and Mr. Turtultubu (daughters) who were professional, patient, and kind. They actually instilled a love of driving simply by their calm and pleasant demeanor. Mikhail is an excellent instructor, I can't say enough good things about him. He put my son at ease for his lesson and road test and gave him great instruction. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because of the back office side of things. The website has some terrible bugs about it that make it difficult to manage. Road test experience was just as great. My daughter felt very comfortable, which I was a little concerned at first having to drive a Wilco driving school car. I went to Wilco Driving School for my appointment today at 11:00. I was so stressed since my last driving test was in 1978! I had recently went to a DPS office and the tester intimidated me so bad I failed my test. Today, Victor did my road test and he was awesome! We did the parent taught driving hours so came here just for the test and had a wonderful experience with Victor. I took my son here to take his driving test. The ENTIRE process from scheduling the test until we went to DPS was simple, fast, smooth, and an overall great experience. I was able to schedule the test for the same day!! Veronica in the office was super friendly and very helpful! She was prompt in getting out paperwork filled out and ready for the test. The Coach even gave my son a brief lesson prior to the test. Victor made my son feel very comfortable when taking the test which really improved his confidence and helped to relieve his test anxiety. There was huge waiting in DPS for the road test so I decided to give it through a third party school. So one of the most famous in Austin is Austin driving school, So I called them, called them again then again and again and again but they never call back or schedule anything for you. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. Then I did some research and came to know about WILCO DRIVING SCHOOL. Got an appointment online and went there for the test. Mr. Lusby (Richard) and his wife were super helpful and polite. 1st Richard explained me all the rules and also let me did a trial run on his car which he uses for road test and also let me do a trial parallel park. Also he explains everything when you do a trail test and parallel park. I passed the test and got my permit very next day :) Highly Recommend WILCO DRIVING SCHOOL. read more

Richard and his people do a tremendous job running this driving school. My instructor Pete was solid. For a first time driver, he taught me the key techniques every driver should know. The entire process was amazingly smooth. I signed up for the 3 in-car private lessons + DPS Road Test package. Scheduling the lessons and the road test was super easy. They are very prompt and clear with their responses so feel free to ask any questions you you might have. I did everything online. Within a week, I was done with all my lessons and successfully passed the road test. Even if you pass the test, Richard will still let you know about your shortcomings. He will explain you each point deduction in details and tell you where you need to work on making sure you drive safe on the road. We called the day prior to schedule a test due to our missing a piece of info required for the driving test previously scheduled with DPS. Her teacher, "Ms. Cooper" lacked people skills and the overall ability to maintain a healthy teaching environment within the vehicle during the 1 hour lesson and then the driving test following the lesson. Comments like, "Oh God" being muttered under her breath while my new driver was performing. Worked one hour on "hand over hand" turns....all the while knowing there were many skills that were lacking. Older teacher that lacked enjoyment and enthusiasm for young drivers...unapproachable, condescending, unsupportive, and "angry" according to my daughter. More importantly as a safety concern, our family can not believe they passed our daughter. She is not ready to drive. There are many areas she needs improvement on. To allow someone with her skills to pass a driving test is reckless. We don't believe a reputable driving school would pass our daughter and feel this is a valid concern how she was allowed to pass when all they worked on was hand over hand turning skills and drove primarily in a neighborhood. Business owner was given the opportunity to hear feedback. Argumentative, defensive, deflective, and continuously asked, "What do you want me to do about it...?" Passive aggressive, unwilling to genuinely acknowledge the concern, did however go through the motions of trying to say the right thing but coming up short with each attempt. Conversation ended thankfully after 18 minutes of hearing excuse after excuse and realizing it was pointless to bring a customer concern to this business manager who had little knowledge on how to handle a complaint to the satisfaction of the customer. It is a learned skill and this manager has yet to learn how to properly address a customer concern. If you want a quality driving education and have concerns about ensuring your new driver is critiqued on the side of safety, stay away from this place. Waste of time. We will be re-enrolling our driver at a reputable place (there are many) that identifies the deficiencies in the spirit of safety and actually can teach in a motivating and supportive manner. read more

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! Got recommendation to have my daughter do her driving test with a third party from a friend. The practice and then test with Richard was very calming and informative for my daughter. Even more important for me was them checking all of my documents before even going to the DPS/DMV. Saved us a return trip for sure. They had a wifi printer right there for me to print off the form I needed from my phone! They sealed all her documents in an envelope and going to DPS/DMV was a breeze. From driving test appointment with Wilco to driver's license in hand was just under 2 hours. Definitely worth it! My 16 year old son took his driving test with Wilco Driving School versus DPS. The owners went above and beyond any expectations that I may have had. The website is very easy to use and scheduling his drive test was quick and pain free. It's a very different atmosphere from DPS. You aren't stressed out when you arrive, there was no waiting in lines, and more importantly...the instructor really spent time with my son answering any questions he had and even did a "practice run" so he was familiar with their car and the area. I failed the driving test at the Pflugerville DPS because the third brake light was out. They said the soonest they could get me in was a month. After doing some searching I found Wilco Driving School. It said they are certified to give the driving test. We scheduled the test for the next day and were greeted by the instructor, Richard. He gave me a practice run on the test and parallel parking. He talked me through the test which really helped. The DPS won't do any of that. This family-owned company is the reason why I got my license the next day. read more
