It pains me to leave this review as we have just completed our 4th year at Young Minds and it is time for our son to go to kinder. We will miss the teachers, Jordan, Tanya, and Indu tremendously but will be forever grateful for the care and instruction they have provided to our family. In our current culture, where educational systems are pressured to meet the ridiculous and non age appropriate academic standards, it was non negotiable that our child was able to be a child. He has plenty of time to be pressured. The Montessori Work provides the true school readiness at my child's pace. Increasing his focus, self regulation, intentionality, task completion, and an understanding of the world around him. Not the rote memorization of letters and numbers that are as meaningless as us memorizing Mandarin characters when done inappropriately. There is definitely the introduction of these objectives, but they aren't pushed on the students who aren't socially ready to absorb the content. The teachers follow the student lead and support their academic readiness when students show the signs that they are ready. Kindly and appropriately challenging students by meeting them where they are at. I could write a novel about how this school has supported my child's social/emotional and academic well being. I will leave it with the fact that I have been in early education and public K-12 education for nearly 20 years. We need more schools like Young Minds who truly tend to student social, emotional, and academic readiness to inspire the foundation of life long love of learning. read more

Our daughter went here for 4 years and it was the best experience! The staff is wonderful and there was very little turn over. Most of the teachers and directors were there from the day she started. She loved going to school and came out more than prepared for Kinder. She made friends, learned to be independent and you can tell that the teachers and directors really love what they do. I would give a million stars if I could! read more

I would give Young Minds Montessori 10 stars if I could. Our daughter has attended for 2 years now and we have been thoroughly impressed with both the Toddler classes and Primary classes. Everyone is so welcoming and they truly truly care about each child as an individual and supporting them across all domains (intellectual, social, emotional, etc). They have the best office staff/program directors/owner who are all so involved with the kids on a daily basis and make you feel like family :) Without fail, my daughter is always so happy after spending a day at her school. They make great effort to provide a variety of extracurricular opportunities for the students which is so helpful for the kids to do their extracurricular lessons during the school day. I'm so grateful we found Young Minds to lay the foundation for our kids' early learning experiences. As a fellow educator, I can confidently say we hit the jackpot with Young Minds read more

Academically the school is top notch. My daughter's vocabulary has improves exponentially. And she gets to be exposed to science math space art etc while doing activities. During summer they had a theme for every week and it was so fun and Educational. The teachers are very knowledgeable and expert in the montessori method. And during covid times, their focus is to keep everyone safe while making sure the kids are not compromised academically. read more

I can't say enough great things about Young Minds! Our past experiences with preschools have mostly involved church-based MDOs. While those were nurturing environments, Young Minds is a step above as far as academics and learning go. The children engage in creative projects and learn about art, science, civics and different cultures, and even have a different themed week for every week of the summer. The teachers and staff are kind and loving. My children have learned so much, and I know they will be beyond prepared for kindergarten. I am sold on Young Minds and the Montessori approach. Specifically, I strongly recommend Young Minds to any parents looking for a kind and loving environment paired with academic, intellectual and emotional enrichment and opportunities for personal growth. On a Covid note, the school takes the utmost precautions to protect its students. read more

We didn't have a great experience at this school, I trusted the management and the reviews when we started, but found this is just another preschool under Montessori Umbrella. You don't see owners in months. The turnover is high compared to other Montessori schools in the area. My child started in a toddler room where the lead teacher has had a very hard time speaking/ understanding English, I was very surprised in the beginning but we stayed as my child was adjusted in the classroom. Assistants kept on changing and I completely lost track. When they decided to move him to the primary room, he faced a hard time adjusting and none of the teachers helped him out. I found lead and office staff very blunt. He started having accidents and no help provided from them. I would never recommend this if you are looking for a Montessori School. This is not an affiliated group, though they claim to be one. read more

The school is top-notch, we moved from South Austin and we were worried about the development of our eldest son, but after just a couple of weeks we have seen a big improvement in the vocabulary ( we are from Spain, so he has dual language), also the staff on the school is super nice and welcome, during summer there are Splash days, also the teachers know the Montessori method which helps a lot to my son to focus more on the things to be tidier at the house. I 100% recommend this lovely school. Thanks for the hard work you have done with son and daughter read more

My kiddo loved this school so much! When I would ask her how he day went she would give me a thumbs up and say "great"! The entire staff was so nice and welcoming. I feel that my daughter's vocabulary sky rocketed just after one week! I would definitely recommend this school to anyone. read more

This school was absolutely amazing. The staff was very helpful, friendly and communication was great. My daughter was only there for a short time, but in that time she learned so much. She never hesitated to get up early in the mornings because every day was going to be a great day at YMMS. I Highly recommend this school to anyone! read more

I loved this school, but more importantly my daughter loved this school. She was showing improvements every day in her independence at home and her love of learning. Every day she's been asking if it's a school day or not (she was half days, 2 days a week.) Unfortunately, she was sticking things in her mouth, and citing safety over everything, I was given a call suddenly asking me to withdraw her immediately. There had only ever been one discussion about it previously, and her parent/teacher conference just recently was full of glowing reviews. I can't help but feel hurt and saddened by the lack of trying to work with her and create a care plan to address this, rather then call for an immediate withdrawal. To say that I'm shocked would be an understatement. If you have a child that fits what they're looking for, then they were nothing short of caring and my daughter truly loved every moment. If you're concerned that your child may be kicked with no warning? Well, that's where I am now. read more

We love Young Minds! Our son has been going here for a year now and has thrived! He's constantly learning new things and he thoroughly enjoys going to school! The director and owner are very helpful when you have any questions or concerns. His teachers have all been amazing! We are so glad to have found this school and look forward to sending our daughter here as well when she is old enough! read more

We are happy that we found Young Minds after having a bad experience with a well known national chain. Our preschooler is very intelligent but has a speech delay and that can affect socializing and learning. Young Minds made us feel comfortable that our kid would not be treated differently in the classroom. The teachers have been patient with our little one and we never felt that they would be left behind in any way. Fast forward six months later and our kiddo has made great progress with speech therapy and is thriving at Young Minds. This school does a great job with not only preparing children academically but also with teaching them good manners and routines, all while letting them develop at their own pace and without unwarranted pressures. The staff has also done a good job of keeping themselves and their students safe and mitigating the risk of COVID-19 transmission at the school. My wife and I recommend Young Minds Montessori Preschool without hesitation. read more

I really love this school and the teachers that work there.. My daughter learned so much in the year she attended there! She learned so much that she came home that when I picked her up she would be so excited to tell me what she learned! She would me the name of the clouds or the name of certain flowers and I'm sitting there surprised and pleased she knew things I did not... LOL ! II really am happy that she went there and I definitely recommend the school. read more

What an amazing difference! Before Young Minds our son was enrolled in another program that didn't fare very well. He was behind in his speech and attention skills, which created much worry. After a month at Young Minds, my wife and I saw a huge difference in my son's little personality. He became more talkative and shared his happiness with his new school. Later in the year, we clearly saw how much he improved in his coloring, writing, and even reading skills. Today my creative, talkative, and independent four year-old is attending his last year with Young Minds. We already feel he is ahead of the game, and ready to take on Kindergarten. Best part, his 2 year old sister isn't far behind, and we are already seeing her progress in coloring, vocabulary, and independence. Thank you, Young Minds! - The Perez Family read more

We absolutely love Young Minds. Our children have been there over three years now and have excelled socially and academically. You definitely get the more home feel here compared to other pre-schools in the area. Mrs. Indu, Ms. Jordan and the whole school staff has been exceptional. We will be sad when our son leaves to public school this year. read more

From the moment walking into Young Minds Montessori Preschool we knew it would be a great fit for our girls. As a pediatric occupational therapist I have been inside many private preschools and seen many classrooms. There is something so special about young minds calming atmosphere. Young minds teachers and administrators have a beautiful way of teaching a classroom of children with calmness, curiosity, playfulness, and structure. Every time we entered young minds no matter what time of day, the classrooms were always calm and peaceful (which is not the norm for preschools). We are amazed at the academics our girls were able to pick up in just a short time. When we first started our youngest daughter (1 1/2 years old) had separation anxiety but the teachers were so loving to her and took the extra time to reassure her. Cant recommend them enough!!! We love young mind Montessori and are so thankful for their teachers and staff! read more

We absolutely love Young Minds Montessori! My son has been attending this school since he was 3 (he will be 5 soon) and we have seen him grow so much since starting here! He is now reading most kindergarten sight words and is even reading other bigger words as well. We were watching animal planet the other day and they showed South America on the map, and as soon as he saw it he said "Mama, that's South America!". I was amazed by this! I knew he was being taught sight words, shapes, colors, etc; but I was really happy to see him learning much more than I thought! In the beginning when we first switched him from home daycare with no established routines to the school he did have a more difficult time to adjusting to the more structured environment, but the owners and all teachers were so very patient (beyond what I probably could have done) and worked with him and us as he learned to adjust, and he has done great since then! Ms Ashanti and Mr Sheran (owners) have been such a blessing. There is always one or both of them to greet you for drop off or pick up and they are always so friendly. I love how I periodically get pictures of my son doing activities during school hours. I love all the staff and all have been so friendly. My son has really warmed up to everyone and feels so comfortable here. Overall our experience has been amazing and I would HIGHLY recommend Young Minds to everyone looking for care for their children in the Leander area. My second son will be starting here in the Fall and we can't wait to see how he will grow. read more

My daughter is been attending the school for almost a year, we absolutely love all the staff members, very caring and friendly. I toured about 4 school and we loved the curriculum and the teachers, very clean and organized place read more

I'm so grateful to have found Young Minds. Ms. Ashanthi is an amazing director that genuinely cares about the well-being of each and every child. Over the past 8 months that my son has been attending this school, his developmental skills (including speech, thoughtfulness, and motor skills) have improved exponentially. My son adores each of his teachers and the friends that he's made. I cannot say enough great things about this school. As a parent, it's great to have my mind at ease when I know my child is in great hands. Thanks, Young Minds Staff, for all that you do! read more

We transferred to Young Minds after our daycare closed 3 years ago and have been more than pleased with the school! Our daughter has grown so much over the last 3 years and is more than ready to start kindergarten in the fall. The teachers and directors truly care for every student and do a great job keeping parents informed on what the kids are doing throughout each day. Class sizes are also smaller than other daycares, which was a huge plus for our daughter!! I would give this school 10 stars if I could! read more

My 5 years daughter just graduated yesterday from that pre-school. This school was her first school so before deciding to enroll my little girl to Young Mind Montessori l searched all pre-schools in Leander and cedar park areas and l read all reviews about all schools in these areas. Mrs Nilusha was her teacher and she was great teacher she was paying attention to student needs at every moment and does what needs to be done! They always find activities to make your child happy .Also they are giving really good education to your child I was so surprised when my daughter talk about surrealism and Salvador Dalí.She already know about presidents of USA ,Continents ,other countries around the world and their cultures and much more thing.Best part she learn all these thing when she was having fun!Thank you for your good work and all nice memories of my child.. read more

If i could give 10 more stars i would. Young Minds has been nothing short of an amazing amazing experience for my little one.I wanted to take my time writing absolutely wonderful things about the school. we landed at YMMS only because we wanted a school closer to our new home when we moved into the area and that has by far been the best decision we could have made. the school staff- without singling out any one in particular, were so patient with my son's transitioning and helped him reach his full potential, learning and behavior wise. The way his experience with YMMS has groomed him is evident in how easily he has adjusted into the public school system this year.Ms.Ashanthi is a god-send. it is no exaggeration that she knows every kid in every class, their parents, siblings, visiting relatives.... she is so invested in her students' wellbeing, development and families too. She always greets us with a smile and is always available for both the students and their parents on any given day for a talk. having said that, she also knows how to be lovingly firm when it comes to teaching the students the importance of discipline , respect and manners. Like they say ,there is love and then there is tough love.and she imparts both without bias to all her students.the staff at YMMS are the safest hands you can entrust your children 's care in. I wish i could have sent my kid there sooner or longer. go YMMS !!!! read more

We couldn't have asked for a better first preschool experience for my son. All of the staff was amazing and my son became very attached to his sweet teacher, Miss Jordan. They have the perfect combination of play and academics to help build well rounded children. read more

My daughter has been at this school for two years now and I have been beyond pleased with the care and education she has been provided. It is always clean and everyone has a smile on their face to greet you and your child. I am very sad my daughter will be moving up to grade school this upcoming school year but I will always be thankful for young minds and the great start they gave my child. This school is truly these directors life's work and they put so much pride and care into the school it is truly inspiring. I will say from experience this small school can will truly give your child the 1 on 1 care every parent wants, no child is left behind. This school is a blessing read more

To add on to my husbands review below, the owners of the school (Ms. Ashanti and Mr. Sheran) are absolutely amazing. You won't find another pre-school that will guide your children to their best potential like Young Minds Montessori. We are so impressed with how much our son has grown with his vocabulary, writing, and social skills and this is a reflection of Ashanti/Sheran and the team's incredible work. People here genuinely care about the children and that is why it was so easy to get comfortable with them from day one. I HIGHLY recommend this school to the parents out there simply because they are the BEST! read more

Young Minds Montessori is the best preschool in Cedar Park/Leander. The owners, Ashanthi and Shiran, are genuine and engaging people. They're always bright and cheerful, approachable and compassionate. I trust them with my kids, which is huge. I also appreciate their flexibility. Not only does the school provide great care to my daughters, the cost is very fair. Miss Indu teaches my 4 year old daughter at a pace that instills confidence and she is excelling very quickly. Miss Indu provides structure and fun simultaneously. Her teaching style (the Montessori approach) is very effective. We noticed a difference academically in 2 months! My daughter loves school and is also making good friends. Miss Liz teaches my 2 1/2 year old. Miss Liz is fun and energetic... warm and affectionate. My youngest daughter was hesitant to go to daycare initially, but once she got to know miss Liz she now loves it! The entire school resembles a loving family. We are very satisfied with this school. read more

Young Minds is a blessing to my family! The directors and teachers have consistently worked with my daughter to get her on track for kindergarten, and my child often comes home ecstatic about what she's learned. As a mother to a very eccentric and active child, I am never disappointed with the extended efforts from staff to help get my girl on track. They are very patient and informative whenever you have a question, and they're always willing to work with you. It's very difficult to find a school that you can fully trust, but Young Minds has proved countless times that they care about each child individually. I'm so happy I found this school and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

My girl loves her teacher, Ms. Olga. The owners know the kids names and send pictures every once in a while to capture memories. They don't allow candy which is great for little ones who don't need it. We are really happy with this program and all that they teach our daughter. read more

Young minds is a great school. The owners Mr. Shiran and Miss Ashanti are very caring and nurturing .And so are there teachers. My son started at 18 months he's 3 in a half now and it's been a great experience for him. He loves it. The times are very flexible and the price is great too! read more

Young Minds is a great! My twin boys started preschool late at 4 years old, but Mrs Ashanti and the rest of the teaching staff worked hard to get my boys ready for Kindergarten. Not only that, they broke out of their shell, and their personalities really shined as the teachers there encourage creativeness and public performances. The school is very nice and clean. It is brand new, so everything is very colorful and the students work is displayed nicely through out the school. The food is pleasing to the kids whilst staying healthy. I would definitely recommend this school to other parents! read more

Our daughter has been at Young Minds for the last 2.5 years and we absolutely love this school. The teachers and staff are all wonderful! Not only is it one of the more affordable schools, it also offers so much to the kids. Mr. Shiran and Mrs. Ashanthi, the owners, greet you every morning and help put a smile on the kids faces throughout the day, its a very personal and safe feeling environment. My daughter has learned a ton in just the short time she's been here. We are constantly amazed at what she soaks up while there. She's learned to write and do basic math, and is even moving up to reading. She even told us how she read a book to her class. She will sing songs we have never heard, tell us about the life cycles of ladybugs, about her senses. Lots of things, lets face it you kind of forget kids don't know about. Shout outs to Mrs. Luce, Ms. Jordan and Mrs. Nilusha for teaching her all this! The other kids and parents are a wonderful group of people too. We've made great friends with other classmates and their parents while here. Unfortunately we are moving, and no longer having our kids attend Young Minds is probably our biggest regret about the relocation. read more
