The staff was so informative and attentive with helping us hone our craft. The event post noted one price and when we got to the event, we were told it would cost extra to glaze the bowl which was a necessary step make the clay piece food-safe. We were making dog bowls so of course we wanted them to be food-safe but it was a bummer that we would have to pay an additional fee on top of what we had already paid. I was charged more than others in my group! We were instructed to make our bowls outside on the picnic tables which weren't flat surfaces. The event poster also stated that we could shape our clay by hand or use the spinning wheel. The spinning wheels weren't even offered to us. Overall, I attended this event to make new friends and create something nice for my dog. I accomplished both so that was a win! While I most likely won't come back, this business is a fun concept that is great for groups of young children and I even saw a mother bring in her young daughter with her to glaze pottery together which was so sweet but the pricing and timing to pick up your artwork could be clearer. Also parking is very limited so park next door at the gymnasium.

The…read moreCrossover is home to Ice and Field, which offers ice skating, hockey, curling, ice shows, and lessons. Off the ice, the facility features an in-house gear pro shop and skate maintenance services, including skate sizing, sharpening, and gear. Further, the facility offers climate controlled indoor sports and fitness facilities as well as both natural and synthetic outdoor fields for year-round use. Beyond sports, the facility has a full bar, food trucks, and a small cafe (on the ice skating rink side). I hosted an ice skating birthday party for Thing Two a few weeks ago. The party was part of a birthday package this location offers that can be found here: https://iceandfield.com/parties-groups/ I opted to add the private lessons for the kids as well as the snow ball fight after the party ($525.00 total, not including the tip for the party host I left). The children at the party had a blast on the ice, but I did have a slight issue with the snowball fight. The "snow" was what was scraped up by the zamboni machine after the public skate. The snow was placed on the backside of the building for the kids to play in, however the snow wasn't roped off in any way so we as the party hosts/guest had to continue to tell others who came outside to play in the snow that this is "paid for snow" and not for public use. The private skating lesson was marked off with cones, and therefore, I assumed the snow would be the same way, but this was not the case. The pizzas for the party were not pizzas made at the location but were pizzas that were ordered from Dominos. For the price point and what was offered, it is on par with other venues that host kids' parties. Check out Gnet A's review of this location from a party guest perspective dated Nov 26th, 2023 (she was a guest at Thing Two's party). https://www.yelp.com/biz/ice-and-field-at-the-crossover-leander?hrid=Kkhjh7Wosdz3LeKjw1LM5Q&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)

When she turned 5, her only request for a present was that we found a place where she could take art classes "for real." I looked around for a place that did children's art classes, not just something that did projects, but that taught the fundamentals of art to kiddos. Luckily, I found Art+ Academy and it has been great! I have a very happy kiddo now since she has her real art classes. Here's the scoop: 1. Small class sizes. They monitor how many kids are in each class to make sure the student to teacher ratio is always low. The kid's all learn from each other, as well as get a lot of individual guidance to help their skills develop. 2. Classes for kids are separated into small age groups to keep the learn levels on the same playing field. The classes range from 4-5, 5-7, 7-9, and 9-12. It's nice that 12 year olds don't have to be with the 5 year olds. Peer groups help everyone learn better and faster. 3. They also do teen and adult classes, so really anyone and every can take classes if they are interested in them. 4. The teachers, at least the ones I have met, seem to really care about the students. They offer help and guidance, but still let each student do their own artistic styles. They really want each person to believe in their own artistic abilities. 5. The price seems very reasonable for the quality of the classes. If you or know someone who is interested in art classes, I highly recommend Art + Academy.

I am providing a five-star review for the following reasons:…read more1. The curriculum provided at the daycare and kindergarten levels is all appropriate and engaging for the children. The children will learn, albeit at their own pace, but they will learn. 2. No peer violence, only violence prevention exists in this school. This school provides effective communication for students. 3. The school provides meals to accommodate all nutritional guidelines issued to them by the parents. Not many schools will accommodate such requests. 4. The exterior view of the school is inviting and well maintained. Students are happy to engage with each other inside and outside of the school. 5. No school is perfect, and this school recognizes this truth. I do think a school will always be a work in progress, and I am sure this school will continue to extend its very best efforts to ensure the wellbeing of all of its students.

I do not leave negative reviews lightly, but after our experience, I feel it's important to share…read moreour concerns for other families considering this daycare. There were only two teachers during our time there who consistently provided the level of care and professionalism I expected: DaLynn and Chloe. They were kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about the children. Unfortunately, they were the exception rather than the rule. One of my biggest concerns was that my son's emergency seizure medication was lost or misplaced while in the daycare's care. As a parent of a child with a medical condition, this is simply unacceptable and could have had serious consequences. For the cost of both regular childcare and the summer camp program, I expected a much higher standard of care and organization. Instead, there were frequent staffing issues that appeared to stem from poor employee management and retention. My son was constantly moved from room to room with very little consistency, making it difficult for him to establish routines and relationships with his teachers. Because of the lack of adequate staffing, my 4-year-old was repeatedly placed in a classroom with 2-year-olds. Over time, I noticed this negatively impacted his behavior and even caused regression in his potty training. I was also disappointed by the lack of any structured educational curriculum. Most days seemed to consist primarily of "free play," with very little evidence of age-appropriate learning activities or intentional instruction. For the tuition being charged, I expected an environment that actively supported children's educational and developmental growth. Safety was another major concern. The front desk was frequently unattended during drop-off and pick-up times, and I regularly observed exterior doors being propped open, creating an environment that did not feel secure. There was also a documented incident during our time there in which a teacher forgot about and left a young child outside unattended. Texas Child Care Regulation contacted our family because my son was in the same classroom, making this incident especially concerning. The most alarming incident for my own family occurred when my mother was able to pick up my son for the first time without being asked for identification or being recognized by staff. Knowing that someone unfamiliar to the daycare could leave with my child without proper verification was deeply concerning. Every parent deserves to feel confident that their child is safe, well cared for, and in an environment that supports their growth and development. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. While I am grateful for the care DaLynn and Chloe provided, the repeated concerns regarding safety, staffing, consistency, lack of educational structure, organization, and overall quality of care ultimately led us to make the decision to leave.
