I came in with my little brother and they helped us through the entire process. He's a teenager and everything felt so confusing at first, but they guided us step by step to get him his license. We took the online course to get his permit, which was super easy and convenient. Once he had his permit, they continued to support us through every step. He also took a few driving lessons here--the scheduling was smooth, they worked around my busy schedule, and the instructor gave great feedback to help him improve. We even got to take the DPS road test at their school, and the girls helped us get a same-day appointment at DPS! We purchased 2 attempts of a DPS road test with Travis Driving School. The first time, our kid didn't pass, and it was obvious why. The instructor was firm, but he was kind. He explained in detail what our teen needed to improve and how. She needed more practice, and we agreed. In addition to what we had been doing ourselves, we purchased a 2 hour driving time + mock test package. The driving portion was great. The female instructor was super helpful and very positive, and our kid felt confident she had vastly improved (and she had). This time, the (different) male instructor who gave her the mock test was demoralizing, unkind and borderline inappropriate. He made her sit on a booster seat (she had not used a booster seat during the 2 hours of driving. She is 5'2" and does not need a booster!), he scored her incredibly harshly (despite her having been praised by his colleague for the 2 hours prior - very inconsistent), and then told her not to "settle for anything mediocre, especially a boyfriend" (completely unrelated to driving!). Moreover, as my husband tried to ask for specifics on what she could work on, the instructor walked away rudely without answering any questions. I've noticed now in other Google review comments that another young female student mentioned something about a harsh instructor failing her and making boyfriend comments. I am surprised someone who has already received a complaint is still working there? Someone who wants to intimidate teenage girls is not a great driving school employee. That said, we scheduled her second test and requested a different instructor, as neither our kid nor we as parents felt comfortable with that same man. The front staff didn't provide any real customer service and told us that no one else was available for the time requested. They offered a time 2 weeks out, so we opted to pick up her paperwork and go to another driving school where we had an amazing experience. The other driving school was able to book us quickly, provided the route for practice, and she passed with flying colors - earning the highest grade of the day at their location. I was driving with an instructor named Rick. I was not supposed to be as my instructor is Allie and I was intended to be observing him teaching another driver. Despite this and with no interference by front desk women he took me out. I made it clear I had only driven officially with Allie 2 times. Despite this he took me to extremely busy freeways and roads that I found extremely overwhelming and out of my comfort zone. He responded to this by screaming at me when I did not know what to do in situations. At one point I was in tears, and he instructed me to make a very sharp turn into the Walmart behind the school. I crashed into the curb due to the stress and my inexperience. He did what he did the entire ride and screamed at me. He screamed at me calling me an and I quote "stupid son of a bitch" " a moron" and asked me if I was suicidal mockingly at other points during the drive. After screaming the degrading curse word mentioned above at me I replied calling him the meanest person I've ever met and was in tears. He responded by screaming in my face saying that he was the oldest person i have ever met and that he doesn't want me to die, getting spit in my face. At this point I was genuinely worried if physical harm would be done to me. When I left the car I was crying in front of the building and walking around aimlessly breaking down. Rick should face disciplinary action for this as I don't want other students to feel the way I'm feeling right now, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Do not take your children here until they get rid of this man who poses a risk to your children. He is terrifying and extremely unstable. read more

Pros: -easy to schedule with front desk -good online permit course -easier to get an appointment for a road test then DMV. -did ultimately learn to drive Cons: -I didn't vibe well with teaching style of instructors. It took me a long time to understand what they wanted me to do. I failed the driving exam because of my nerves. Some of the comments made to me were out of line. -parallel parking spot is on a decline. I had a friend who's been driving 15+ years who could not get into the spot. -location: not really on the driving school for this one but where you practice actual driving (not parking lots and neighborhoods) is kind of crazy. There are a lot of new residents in austin with all of their own driving styles. Driving on these roads can be downright scary. read more

Top notch. My son needed his driving test. We did the online class. I called other places and their receptionists were rude, wanting additional documentation and so on. When I called Tx driving school, the receptionist was nice, patient and helpful. They told me exactly what I needed for documentation ( and I got an email stating the same a couple of days before my son's appointment). When we were done, they gave me the documents needed for DPS and needless to say. My son just got his drivers license. I recommend this for other parents who need to have the driving test completed. read more

The address provided for me when I payed was for an apartment complex 30 minutes away from the school. The 2nd adress provided in an email confirmation they sent me was for the Lowe's 5 mins away from the school. I arrived to my appointment 20 mins late because of this and when I complained about the address problem I was told it must've been my fault and there's nothing they could do. They gave me the option to pay a 40$ fee to cancel the appointment or pay a 40$ fee to reschedule so either way they took my money for their mistake, I wasted gas , and I wasted a day driving there. The receptionist was rude over the phone and in person. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went in during my lunch break to take the road test and I was back with time to spare. I had expected to wait for long but boy was I wrong. I had my appointment at 1:30, everything was quick and everyone was super helpful. Mr. Adam was patient, soft spoken and completely made the nerves go away! He was super understanding when I made a small mistake and made it easy to just move on to the next thing without feeling scared. Definitely recommend!! read more

Beware if you're taking your DPS road test here. The light sequence leaving the parking lot is ridiculous. The yellow light basically doesn't exist. My daughter was instantly failed because she went when the light was green and before she could get through the intersection the light turned yellow and almost instantly then turned red. So they failed her because she didn't make it through before it turned red. I would take her somewhere else if I hadn't already paid $160 for the test. Because of this, we had to cancel her DPS appointment and now the next appointment is in May. I plan to complain to the City as well and make them fix the issue with their light since the same thing happened to me when we were leaving. The instructor said he had already failed other people for the same thing this morning. It's completely unfair. read more

I had an excellent experience with Travis Driving School. To start, I chose TDS because I'm a big sucker for convenience. Sure, call me lazy. It's no skin off my back. I own it. Needless to say, when I saw they offered a solid lesson plan and the final exam, all on a flexible schedule, I was on them, lightning-fast, like Hunter Biden on a...well, er, you know...the thing. Anyways, I signed up on the spot. I figured if there were any other issues I missed in my not-so-exhaustive "research", I'd suck it up and cross the bridge when I got there. Well, good news for me... The whole experience was top-notch: the customer service, the instructors, the quality of the lessons. Everything. Just passed my driving test today, so I can say am extremely satisfied with the education I've received (and I was never behind a wheel until about a month ago), as well as with the instructors I had the luck to be working with. I've started in a different school, but I'm super glad I switched to this one. Everybody's super polite, they teach you at just the right pace. They give you multiple opportunities to pass but luckily our daughter only needed one. They were very friendly and helpful during the entire process it was easy and it gave us peace of mind. I am truly satisfied with choosing Travis Driving School for my son's behind the wheel lessons to obtain his drivers license. I researched all of the driving schools in Pflugerville and after my research and reading all of the feedback from reviews I decided Travis Driving School was the best choice. I called several times and spoke with the office manager, he was very informative and answered my questions each time I called no matter how many times I called. When I decided to sign my son up it was on Saturday, January 26th I received my son's driving schedule on Tuesday, January 29th. He began his hours on Saturday, February 2nd and completed them on Sunday, February 17th. My son has his drivers license certificate by Saturday, February 23rd. They were on time every single time we had a scheduled appointment. I gave the timeline from beginning to ending because a lot of the driving schools take an extremely long time to get the behind the wheel and observing time done. Mr. Adam is the instructor and he was great with my son and my son learned a lot of things he needed to know from him. He would share information with me that Mr. Adam taught him it helped me to re-evaluate my driving skills. I feel that Mr. Adam is very professional and he cares about your child! This is a great place for kids or adults and remember you can even take your driving test with Travis Driving School instead of DPS for a fee.
