My son used this course for his learner's permit. About 30 minutes from finishing the 6 hour course, a verification question popped up and asked him his birth day. In a rush, he read it incorrectly and thought it was asking for the day of his birth, not the month and he was locked out of the account. Fine. However, when we had to reach out to unlock the account- it took him ALL THE WAY TO THE BEGINNING of the course! It did not save his progress! I do not recommend this company. read more

I'm taking their defensive driving class right now and it's the WORST online learning experience of my life. Just horrible. They present two sentences on the screen and then have a 3 minutes timer before you can move on. Then another 2 or 3 sentences and then another 3 minute timer. It doesn't take me that long to read!!! Aceable has made it very difficult to cancel the free roadside assistant trial before I am charged. I was told that it was taken care of then I get an email saying I'm about to be charged. They make it easy to get trapped paying for a sub we don't need ! They said they sent an email requesting information and now their time has changed from perky and willing to help to cold rude and distant. I never got the email they said I did and now says if I don't respond they will close the request. Seems like a scam to me. read more

Deceptive Business Practices We had an extremely disappointing experience with Aceable. My son used their platform to take his driving permit test and was very careful to follow the rules--he even closed all other tabs to avoid accidentally switching away from the exam, as warned. Despite this, during the test, he accidentally highlighted a word with his mouse, which caused his MacBook to open a dictionary pop-up. This triggered Aceable's system to exit the exam, as though he was "cheating" and demand another payment to retake it. We were shocked that such a minor, involuntary action would be treated the same as intentional cheating--and even more frustrated that the company refused to offer a refund or any flexibility. My son went on and paid again to retake the exam. It became clear that Aceable's system is designed to capitalize on technical errors, forcing families to pay multiple times. We spent several days trying to appeal to their customer service, hoping for basic fairness and common sense. Unfortunately, the company showed no willingness to help. A deeply frustrating experience that feels more like a money grab than an educational service. Stay away from these scammers! read more

My teenager used it for driving school - both for permit and DL. As far as an app, it's fine, but... 1) there is no online support so when it comes time to produce your certificates and get your paperwork together, you're on your own. 2) if you have any problems with payments, or logging in, again - no support. 3) they have this scammy $5/month allstate roadside asst thing that they opted us into. I have no idea how we got opted into it, I just saw it on my CC statement. To make it worse, when I went to cancel it, it's puts you into a sign-out loop whey they all of a sudden can't find your account. If you've ever tried to cancel cable, or with your mobile carrier, well, this is like 10x worse. punchline: buyer beware. read more

SCAMMERS! They are charging me $5 a month for some garbage roadside assistance program that I can't cancel. Like others have mentioned, it asks for my billing email and when I enter it, it loops back to "incorrect email address", despite being able to access my account with the only address I use. They also have stated in responses that they send a separate email detailing the coverage with Allstate, however I have not received any such email. Believe the other reviews! I bought the Florida Drug and Alcohol Course (TLSAE) + Permit Test Combo which according to the Aceable website "Includes 50 free practice permit tests". My 14 year old son completed the TLSAE but there are no practice tests available. When I wrote Aceable to find out how to access the practice tests, they responded: "We completely understand that you're looking for the 50 free practice tests, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion. At the moment, we're not offering those tests, but our team is actively working to update our website. The good news is that you can purchase the Florida Permit Test Prep Course for just $9.99!" I fought back multiple times since they admitted that the website gives the wrong information but they refused to grant access to the practice test without additional payment. This is only a fee of $10, but it is shocking to me that the state of Florida will contract with a vendor that refuses to make good on terms of purchase. I had no way of knowing that the practice tests were no longer included until payment was rendered. They refused a refund or to waive the fee for the tests that I thought I was purchasing. Aceable said they are working on updating their website (which is the point of purchase) but they have not yet at this time. read more

They pretend to have a call center, but there is none. It's a call center that tells you to text them, so you if you have something urgent or need to speak with someone over the phone, it will never happen. By the time they finally got back to me, we had already completed a course elsewhere, where they had good service and people who actually pick up a phone. read more

My son was taking his DMV test through Aceable, and the system crashed. Even though he still had 2 attempts remaining, Aceable wouldn't allow him to retake the test without charging an additional $25. This happened twice. I paid the fees both times because he had an upcoming DMV appointment that he couldn't miss. I reached out to their customer service, explaining the issue and requesting not to be charged since it was clearly a system problem. I even provided screenshots as proof. The classes are great but they trick you into a $5/month subscription I didn't know I signed up for!! Customer service is terrible, when I called she said I would be refunded and gave me a "number to call" ...it was the number I used to call her initially. Ridiculous!! This had been the worst experience taking drivers Ed. Multiple times per session, I would not be able to continue to the next section after the timer reached 0, and my tool bar at the top of the screen would be gone making me unable to exit or to continue. Sometimes this would resolve itself after multiple refreshes and moving to different parts of my house. and on 3 different occasions where I was not able to continue to the next section I was locked out of the course for "missing a verification question" when I was not presented with one. Each time I would have to email the help email. On the third time I was locked out, I was sent an email saying I had 60 seconds to answer a verification question, yet when I logged back in I was never shown a verification question yet again. So after another email saying I didn't see or have a verification question, they sent the exact same email saying I have 60 seconds to answer a verification question that just was not there. On top of all this frustrating bullshit, I was automatically signed up for a subscription to roadside assistance that I would never use nor did I ever want. So basically after paying 75 dollars I would expect the website to run well and not be charged any additional charges. read more

**UPDATE (IT GETS WORSE)**: Okay so I purchased the CA Drivers Ed through a referral link that gives you 25% off so regular is $69 and $51.75 after w/ referral. However, once you put your information it gives you two options either "Claim Promo" for $49 (w/ caveat that you subscribe to $5 a month, how convenient lol) OR be forced to pay full price of $69. What happened to the %25 referral link offer you may ask ? Poof. Gone. Nada. I will provide screenshots. They are in reverse order . I HATE when companies slide in a monthly subscription. $5 roadside assistance ? These students don't even drive yet, it makes no sense. Aceable relook your partnership with Allstate. Look at your reviews. Or at the least make the disclaimer extremely BOLD. I better get a refund and cancellation. One star nonetheless for the shadiness, intentional or unintentional. read more

Don't use this company. They are scammers, I'd liken them to the people that make a flashy game for 4yo kids with all kinds of in app purchases. Their website looks good and because they have good reviews on websites out there, which I am not thinking are probably bought, I went with them for my daughter. Let's be honest, they've been handed the paper to print money by our idiot government that thinks that if we don't pay for the training there's no way our kids can get prepared to drive. what happened to studying, practice tests (on the DMV website free) and taking the test. But hey, not Aceable's fault right? I'm not even irritated about the roadside assistance gimmick. I immediately emailed and had it cancelled. I don't even fault them for the content being boring and my daughter taking forever to finish it. 1. it is boring, and 2. she's a teenager and they always procrastinate, it's in the job description. No, what pisses me off is the whole "if you upgraded to express delivery" you get the electronic proof in your email in 1 hr but if you didn't you have to wait 24-48. really? because your automated system takes extra resources to email as soon as the course is finished? no, one more gimmick. Then when the teenager finds out that they waited too long they try to really screw you with "expedited shipping" costs to get the printed certificate faster. And once you start that checkout process you are in a loop where you can't get back to the home screen to study more, LOOK FOR OTHER OPTIONS or anything until you finish. As an FYI, select the "free shipping" with 12 days or whatever BS it is and the you can get back home. where you can find more information like the email that you should receive with the certificate. They do everything they can to take advantage of naive teens that don't know what they should be getting. Hopefully this review won't get ignored by Yelp like A LOT of them have been. If it doesn't and you are reading this find the non recommended reviews and read them. there are a lot more negative ones there and if I'd done more research before and found those I'd never have gone with them over the local outfit with a clunky website. read more

Parents of soon to be drivers: BEWARE OF ACEABLE. There is no customer service PHONE NUMBER online. But hey, at least they have a chat option! "Sorry, we are not online at the moment" Or email. When I emailed them, no email was sent to me (in the 45? minutes that we wasted today, on top of waiting time, were at the dps for about 3 hours in all) because the certificate that was sent to me was the LICENSE certificate, instead of the LEARNERS PERMIT certificate. (Also I couldn't remember my password or where it was...so I requested to reset it. And they never sent that email. So when, in the meantime, I found the password, I couldn't use it AND I couldn't reset it. Cool, cool.) But ok, ok, ok IF you call their _roadside_assistance_ line, *they* (Rihanna) will give you the customer service number! To get you out of her hair. :) There you will have two options - transfer to a call with the DPS (no thanks, I'm there) or, if you have a question for Aceable press 2. If you press 2, it will ask you if this is your number (says your number, you say yes) then it will tell you you will receive a text! And it does text you right away, yay, finally this low key, first world nightmare will start to resolve, yeah? Well, no. Because it just gives you a link to go that chat option, where they're not online. (This was around 1:30pm (Central) on a weekday, within even the fewer covid hours listed on their site, so... I want to say I shudder to think how it would be for someone outside those hours but I guess actually it would be the *same*) LUCKILY my daughter was able to access her account somehow, and find the correct document, and email the lady working at the DPS, who was lovely and patient, and printed that out for us and just thank god. Because otherwise we'd be looking at having to reschedule - and if it's anything like getting this appointment was, we'd probably be looking at March at least (because scheduling for that is a nightmare in the time of Covid)!! Like, I *prepared* for this and we still almost got screwed so make sure you got all your ducks in a row, and just know if you need help from Aceable, YOU AIN'T GETTING ANY SO go f*** yourself I guess. read more

My daughter used Aceable for her online driver's ed course before she transferred to the parent-taught behind the wheel. She found the course easy to complete and to document the results. I was able to follow progress using the parent account. We did have some confusion around the process of transferring to the behind-the-wheel portion. This could be better communicated. On the day of her Texas DPS driving test, we found that I had overlooked one of the key documents. After completing the behind-the-wheel, I should have contacted Aceable to obtain a completion certificate for the PTDE course. Lacking this would have derailed the driving test before it started. I called the Aceable customer support number yesterday from the Texas DPS office minutes before her appointment time and spoke with Keith. He quickly understood the situation, generated the required documentation, and e-mailed it to me daughter, all quickly enough to keep our appointment. He even offered to stay on the call until we could confirm the document with the DPS agent. Thank you Keith and Aceable for your timely support. Five Stars read more

The worst customer service imaginable! I have two teenage children and apparently their system is not advanced enough to be capable of associating the same parent email address with two children. Because of this my son is not getting vital certificates that he needs and we are going to miss our dps appointment. They don't have another appointment FOR FIVE MONTHS! By that time my son will be an adult and the minor class I paid for will be invalid. I tried to call and was placed on hold for an hour and a half before a machine said I would be disconnected because they are closing for lunch! I then attempted to email them about the urgent issue and their failure.... Only to get a response that says it takes them SEVEN DAYS to respond to an email. By then it will be too late and the money and time put into this course will be lost. read more

They run a scam to set up the child with a subscription to roadside service when they check out. Then the parent nor the child realizes it. They are nearly impossible to get a hold of (you have to text them!?) to request a refund for the charges. They know that many people won't notice or when they do notice may not persevere enough for the refund. They must be collecting millions... Don't sign up. read more

The Aceable online driver's ed class has been fine and we're glad this is an option during COVID, however the driving school Aceable assigned my daughter to is located 34 miles away so getting lessons will be a challenge with traffic on weekdays and getting a weekend time is also difficult. My daughter had her first lesson with the driving instructor today and was crying and shaking when she got in my car after her lesson. She said the instructor screamed at her the entire time and it made her increasingly nervous being in the car with him. He also pulled down his mask to scream at her (I should note -- he also screamed at the other student driver who was taking his second lesson). I thought they'd start in a parking lot to gauge her skill and confidence levels, but no -- he took her straight out with traffic. Thankfully I had given her a couple of lessons in a parking lot and had her drive me around our neighborhood, but it was clearly not enough to prepare her for this first lesson. My daughter doesn't want to learn to drive after the experience today. I'm going to have to spend a lot of time building up her confidence and getting her to relax now. If I could do it over again, I'd save the money and teach her myself, or we'd wait and use one of the better rated driving schools closer to home and skip the online program offered by Aceable. I didn't teach her myself because I don't think I have the patience to be a driving instructor, but clearly the driving instructor she was assigned doesn't either. Aceable would be great if they'd offer customers options for driving schools so we could have selected one closer to home with better reviews instead of being stuck with whatever is assigned. read more

Unfortunately Aceable marketed to my minor daughter an Allstate roadside assistance for $5 per month which she can't use, when it came time to sign up for the driving course I gave my credit card for the course but didn't know aceable scammed my daughter into the service she can't use. Aceable makes certain not to include the parent and only email the minor child what Aceable and Allstate are doing is unethical and probably illegal. I just noticed the recurring charges on my credit card, so other than the bait-and-switch fraudulent scam targeting minor children and concealing the scam from parents, I'd rather she had signed up for AAA or any other reputable internet based driver's education course. read more

holy sh-t. it's as if this course took a driver's ed manual and put each sentence on a different slide that you have to click through. Hundreds (thousands?) of redundant, one sentence slides - and you have to click through every. single. one. Interspersed with videos that you can not fast forward through and one question quizzes that you can't skip. then quizzes for every chapter. then finally, the final test. But to get to it, you have to get through layers of testing. I curse the person who wrote the stupid article listing this as one of the fastest online traffic schools.
