My kids had Mr. Vinklarek (son) and Mr. Turtultubu (daughters) who were professional, patient, and kind. They actually instilled a love of driving simply by their calm and pleasant demeanor. Both also have a great sense of humor! I admit, this place is still a tad pricier than the others, but you get what you pay for, and isn't learning one of the hardest things you'll ever have to do in adult life totally worth it?

I didn't have much confidence in my driving so I took the refresher course and felt much, much better in my abilities to drive safely afterwards. I had two solid instructors from a driving school in Boston who helped me pass my exam on my first try, and I can honestly say that George was an even better instructor. I found him to be very professional and efficient in his instruction. We spent about the first third of the time going through several scenarios and how I should respond in each (who has the right of way, lane positioning, etc). I honestly found this part very valuable because I was able to reinforce my understanding of the rules of the road, and was primed for the subsequent driving portion of the lesson. George is a excellent instructor who will teach you how to drive systematically to protect yourself by giving yourself enough space and time to react to changing conditions and telling you key targets that you should be looking out for when driving. My wife, who does not yet have her license, is looking forward to taking the four lesson package!

I am not a Christian. I did not sign up for a religious experience. If I wanted spiritual guidance, I would have gone to church, which I won't, because that is simply not who I am. Teach me to drive. That is literally your one job. George is also arrogant, acrimonious and loves to moralize at you like you are sitting in his congregation. It was unprofessional, uncomfortable and frankly offensive. Keep your religious views to yourself, this is a driving school not a place of worship. The cars are another story altogether. Ancient, dirty and falling apart. Every single lesson I was just hoping the car would survive long enough to get me back. It was embarrassing honestly, let alone unsafe. I walked away after spending so much money having learned absolutely nothing about driving. Not one useful thing. I joined Coastline Academy shortly after and the difference is night and day. Being there has shown me exactly how much this school dropped the ball and how little they actually care about teaching you anything. Avoid this scrapyard of a place. Seriously. Go anywhere else.

I used the Austin Driving School for my son to take his driver's test in early December of 2022…read more The backstory: he did his driver's education online with another provider, and we did parent taught driving lessons. But when we went to the DPS for his driver's test, we found out we had schedule the wrong type of appointment and had to wait over 3 months to get rescheduled. At this point, we decided to use Austin Driving School for him to take his test, which would expedite the process. Unfortunately, the week he had his driver's test scheduled, he tore a ligament in his knee and wasn't able to drive. I called to cancel and they told me it was no problem, and how to reschedule. When he was able to drive, I called back to reschedule, and we arrived for our appointment. However, we had forgotten two of our forms, and we showed up at the Anderson Mill location instead of the Anderson Lane location - apparently this happens often. The staff at the Anderson Mill location called the head office for us to switch our location, and even let us go back home for the missing form. They were busy, but they fit us in, when they could've easily asked us to reschedule. I found them helpful and kind on a busy, full day, and am so glad we went this route rather than wait for an appointment through the DPS.

We all got treated awfully in the same way. FYI, I believe this white hair elderly guy is the only tester of this location. On my first test, he asked me "Where are you from" and then "Why are you HERE." I answered but he did not give any response. During the test, he kept making weird noises in his mouth the whole time, I couldn't understand but I could tell he was super vicious and definitely cursing something. Afterward, he failed me, and then walked to my mother-in-law instead to tell her "Your girl has no idea about the law here, go home and teach her more." And he asked me to come back two days later to take another test. On my second test, he kept touching my arms up and down, asking me where my husband was from; and how long I'd been married. I told him I had been married for two years. And he called me "You are an old lady now". Then he said it was a joke, I do not find this funny. I passed the second test, but how he touched my arms made me disgusted for days. I know he could probably get away with what I wrote above because he is old. He could say "Sorry I am too old to make people feel respected." "It was just some little jokes." But again, I did not see him touch the guys' arms. And other Asian ladies got touched, and one of them said she was cursed by this tester the whole testing process. I want to share my experience because I think no one deserves to be treated like this, I paid 85 dollars for the test, technically I am a customer. But seems like he enjoys abusing the power in his hand.

They have a really neat program to teach drivers the techniques for rally driving and it works. Wes and Scott were super and really focused on safety and having fun. Their program is focused on showing you what needs to be done, doing the skills, taking a break to let is soak in, and then doing it again. It's very well structured and by the end of the day they were doing the slalom course with a lot of confidence. As for the team, I didn't meet anyone at Rally Ready that wasn't outgoing, personable, and just plain nice. They love rallying, but are genuinely good people. It's not about pulling people in to stack the house, but about teaching a subject which they are passionate about. Thank you Wes, Scott, Dave and the whole team at Rally Ready for making my son's experience the best ever.
