The instructors provided a different motorcycle for a younger taller student because he was struggling with the initial motorcycle. They got a different motorcycle from across the parking lot at the range. I was told by the lead female instructor that failed me that next time I could use the Grom motorcycle they had. Why was I not provided the same opportunity like the other student during the training if that bike was available????!! So your comment sir, respectfully is BS!!!!!! The younger female student behind me skipped a cone during the examination and struggled much more than me in my opinion. Yet she was only 20 and passed to my surprise. She even stated to me she thought she would fail. She is the one who had an incident. In my opinion the instructors were bias . I stated that I had purchased a CBR 600 . Maybe this worried them because of my skill level. Of being 59 years old I understand how important safety is was in the process of switching this motorcycle out for a much smaller bike. Hopefully, based on my observations of some of the other younger students, she made the right decision in passing the kids despite. Registered for the weekend 2-day (11/11-12/2023). Online course was (for a newb) way too much information. I arrived and was not only the one woman in my group, but also the only one that had never touched a bike. As the website states the BCF1 is for " all newcomers" I was anticipating a coach that would be more focused on going steady and slowly (it's only 8 students) as opposed to continually looking to the other lot/group to see what they were doing. He also lost his cards, found them, said that this wasn't how he liked to teach but this was how TX tells him to do it, and for some reason told the group that the co-trainer was his wife as if it was necessary information. I was pulled aside after 15 minutes of being on the bike (missing both mirrors, horn broken) because I was fidgeting too much and I hadn't pointed at the right piece when he called it out. Patience? No. He didn't want me slowing him down, because he and SOME of the other men were excited and anxious (although none of them were complaining or acting out like he was). He also said that my thick leggings and high top shoes were not appropriate, and that they needed to update the site. Again, that is there fault not mine (I'm the student, not the trainer). NOTE: The website prior to that weekend said (over the ankle shoe, not boot (now it calls out no tennis shoes). He said it I should call the office, but I emailed and got this response (BELOW). I cannot recommend avoiding this school at any cost if you are new to the ride. The trainer did not exhibit any empathy or patience with me, nor was he interested in how I learn. This course is fine if you know what you're doing an can ignore the poor training methodology they blame on Texas. I took this course in June, and it was a lot of fun! Prior to this class, I had only ever powerwalked on a motorcycle, so I had basically zero motorcycle skills. By the end of the first day, I was riding around in 2nd gear, doing figure 8s, and all kinds of stuff! The coach was super friendly and gave one-on-one feedback during the more difficult exercises. At the end of the second day, there is a "skills demonstration" portion that you need to pass in order to be eligible for your motorcycle endorsement. There are no scheduled breaks during the course, but we would usually take 5-10 mins every couple of exercises to hydrate and reapply sunscreen. I will say that if you're susceptible to heat exhaustion or have a low tolerance for sun exposure: don't take this class in the summer. You're outside for 6-7 hours each day. Signed up for a Total Rider beginner MSF course to get my class M license, and it was honestly one of my favorite experiences. The class itself cost around $265 and had several sections. I had to complete a 3 hour online course prior to the course to get familiar with motorcycles, road safety, etc. We then had an in-person class for ~3 hours where we had to pass a knowledge test (definitely study the online material beforehand!!), and had two riding sessions on Saturday and Sunday morning. Having never ridden a motorcycle before, I was fairly nervous about taking this course. But the instructors started from the very beginning, walking us through the bike controls, steering, leaning, etc. before we ever began riding. By the end of our second day my group was successfully riding and completing difficult obstacles. We learned how to quick stop, swerve, shift gears, etc. I also got super close with my group! Getting to spend 2 days with the same people brings you much closer. We formed a close bond and exchanged numbers to hangout/ride after the course ended. Jason was also a super fun and friendly instructor! He never judged us when we made a mistake but pointed it out and helped us correct it for the future. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! This company does not care about customer service or user experience. They turned me away at the door because I "took the wrong online class." The instructor showed no interest in being helpful and just said I need to call them.... no one will call me back although I left a voicemail. I took the online MSF Basic Rider class (wasted 3 hours and $20 there) which, afterward, provides you a link to all the classes you can take....so I signed up for one with Total Rider and when I showed up early with my printed copy of the online course certificate (who has a printer these days? just let people send PDF's or update your technology). I was told I took the wrong class and there was nothing they could do.....It was infuriating that they could so carelessly waste my time and money like that. How are people supposed to know they are signing up for the right class if the website does no validation? Then they told me that there was a link to the right online class in the email... THE EMAIL YOU GET AFTER PAYING $275 FOR THE IN PERSON PORTION. Don't waste your money or time, use another company to get your class M. read more

Do you want to be rushed through so called riding classes. Spend more time on breaks than actually riding. Not learn how to ride in the allocated time you've paid for. Then this is the place for you. My daughter paid for a class only to be not only given a bike to learn on way to big for her but to also be rushed through and not given enough time to learn and practice before being given a test out. I took the Total Rider 3-wheel motorcycle course in September 2018. It was affordable, fun and safe. I didn't know what to expect since this was my first time riding a trike, but it ended up being a positive experience. The instructor's name was Arsenio. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with the novice riders. He provided a wealth of information during class and the driver education course to help the students understand the importance of staying aware of your surroundings and what to do when you encounter different situations while on the road. We practiced basic maneuvers and completed a driving course exam prior to receiving our 3-wheel certification. The driving course and the instructor Carl was great. Although, our class was misinformed about taking the drivers test at the DMV. Part of the completion of the course was taking a written and a driving course test. We were told that another written test would need to be taken at the DMV. A friend told me that wasn't necessary and I just went down and updated my drivers license by showing them the certificate that I got in class. I was issued a new license with no driving test, just a new photo, an eye test and $16. I would've gotten my license sooner if I would've known that I didn't need to schedule written test. read more

I took the course and the classroom portion was easy enough but the teacher seemed not to care. Then the next day we went to the driving portion and it was 12:30 in the middle of the hot summer day. the Teacher started us looking at the bike in sun and for about 1.5-2 hours later I started not to feel good and the teacher said that if I leave the course i wouldn't be able to finish. So I was continued until i almost fell over so i sat down and took off my helmet. The teacher told me to get off the course so I did. Then after sitting in the shade a bit the teacher told me I wasn't allowed to finish and i could email the lady in the office. So I did and she said they wouldn't let me retake the bike portion and that i have to pay for it all again. I was upset that they didn't even offer a break. So i called the office to ask for a refund or for another class and the manager was rude and treated me like a child and he said that it doesn't matter if you have a health issue. He also said the course doesn't require breaks. We are in the middle of Texas in the heat of summer in the middle of the day and we didn't get breaks. I would save your money and take a better course with someone else read more

This was the first time ever taking a motorcycle course and it was a great experience. I like that we have to take an E course before going into the class because it gives you knowledge so you're not walking into the classroom looking like a deer with headlights. I had instructor Jeff, he is intimidating at first when you first meet him but after he's like a big teddy bear he is beyond helpful and caring. You can feel that he is very passionate about his job and helping people become the best rider as possible. I would take this course all over again just because the staff really care and they actually teaches you. I definitely recommend total riders and Jeff !!! read more
