PetSmart horrific accident A few weeks ago my dog, Lucky (toy poodle) went for a grooming to the new PetSmart atFM 1093 Rd, Katy. To get to the point, the groomer cut a piece of her tongue. They never called me to let me know about the accident. I called because the grooming session was taking longer than normal. The groomer who did this took her to the veterinarian hospital and she never apologized. She blamed my dog for the whole accident. The groomer is careless or/and very inexperienced. TERRIBLE GROOMING EMPLOYEES!! I took my 3 month old yorkie here to get a sanitation groom, cleaning his private area. I arrived at 11 and a was told it would take 1 hour. I specifically asked not to groom his face, feet, or clip his toenails. They didn't begin cutting him until 1pm, what did they do with my dog for 2 hours?! I was worried at around 12:45 so I went and asked a lady who was grooming another dog how my Ryder was doing and she rudely stated cuts are 4 hours and I need to just wait. When I asked her to please go make sure he is okay she huffed back to the back and came and told me only 10 minutes. When he was groomed I noticed they cut his face, his feet, and trimmed his toenails. When I went inside to pick him up I asked Sebastian, the groomer, why he did that and he told me he thought he should (I guess what the owner says doesn't matter) and then proceeded to yell in my face. I live near this PetSmart and I love going here to get my cats and dog supplies. Most of the employees are pretty friendly, but everytime I visit here I see that they don't take very good care of the fish. Especially the bettas, half of the water dishes have green and poop on the bottom, I've come to this location before and saw that they had a dead betta just sitting on the shelf, along with the other PetSmart near me. Richard was very rude to me at check out. I simply same in to rerun an item. I did not have my receipt and asked for store credit. The item was less than $20 and he refused to return the item for me. I was going to spend a lot more at the store than what I was returning. I will never come back to this store again. I took my dog to this location once and I will never do it again. Avri was the groomer and I could tell she was a new employee because she kept running back to ask the manager questions while helping me. She gave my dog ear infections on both ears! Then she overcharged me and was rude on the phone. I had a horrible feeling just walking into this location. The day after groom appointment my dogs ears started smelling so I immediately took her to see vet and sure enough, bacterial infections in both ears. Do not take your dog here people. I have taken my 13 yr old Border Collie here his entire life. They have always done an amazing job on him. Sebastian is awesome and has been grooming Bogey forever. Since Bogey is old and less agile I've had to tell Sebastian to treat him gently and it's been great. I've tried many groomers with my 8 lb. mini goldendoodle and had troubles with all of them as they don't know how to make a doodle NOT look like a poodle. Just your average pet store. Nothing great that stands out about it. Prices are a bit high, but what do you expect? They know people are willing to pay whatever price as long as its for their pets. Make sure to sign up for the rewards program to get a little discount on certain items. I usually just stop by when I need run out of pet food or treats for my dog otherwise I find that amazon has pretty good pricing (usually lower prices) than Petsmart. I do bring my dog for a nail trim since its so much cheaper compared to my vet's office doing. No issues with that so far. read more

Never have I encountered such a rude individual in the heir grooming department like I have today. MONICA is such a rude groomer, she was obviously offended that I asked her if she knew how to cut a schnauzer simply bc she looked as though she was struggling cutting him and I watched a few of the other groomers walk to her station & assist her with cutting him. As i walked inside I asked politely had she ever cut a schnauzer. She replied RUDELY and NASTY yes I do I know how to cut him! His hair is thin! And I'm trying to figure out why! I stood watching her cut her eyes back and forth to another associate, roll her eyes and mumble under her breath. I assumed she didn't appreciate me asking if she knew how to cut him. But excuse me! It's my right to ask questions & if asking questions is offensive to her she's obviously in the wrong business especially working with the public. I then told her to stop cutting my dog and I would pay for whatever services that were already done & I would take him now. She replied rudely and loudly you don't have to pay for anything!!! She then turned to her coworker and said yea you can take him!!! Can you take him her to her take him and I'll go wash other dogs!! Needless to say I asked for a manager and complained!! No one needs to deal with or encounter such rudeness and such horrible behavior, all because I ASKED, A CLIENT asked if she knew how to cut a schnauzer. Simply ridiculous! I do appreciate both managers coming to speak to me and understanding saying her attitude was unnecessary & apologized profusely & another groomer to cut and bathe my dog. This is the only groomers that I've taken my dog to and I've never been treated this way by any of the staff. I would suggest removing MONICA & perhaps teaching her the proper way to respond & having a professional discussion with customers! She obviously should be taught how you shouldn't handle a situation with a customer. You don't express your feelings by yelling and spewing ridiculous comments to a customer. Issue with the grooming dept. Dog was not ready on time even after appointment was made. An entire hour later. Tried to charge extra for more than one person handling a 4 lb yorkshire terrior. Associates Larissa and Sebastian in grooming dept are horrible. Stated they would put notes in the petsmart system to where my dog would not be serviced at any other petsmart. Will not be visiting this location again. Spoke with store manager who was the only professional was helpful. He removed the unnecessary fee. I've been going to Petsmart for over 4 1/2 years different locations, but this was my first time here since moving for my shichi (shitzu/chihuahua). I have always been charged the same price. I went in today for a bath and a lady said he is a shitzu. Changed him in the system and made the price jump up even higher. Very disappointed that they didn't keep his original profile. I should have paid attention to the reviews. I took my 10 year old mini poodle there and specifically said what I wanted. I was quoted $45 when I made the appointment. When I went to drop my dog off, the groomer, Liliam added all types of fees and swore I put them on there. Despite showing her the invoice, she insisted then literally walked off with my dog! When I picked him up, she chastised me because he was moving while being groomed. He's a dog! And furthermore, when he goes to his typical groomer he gets no complaints. The most unprofessional groomers I have ever encounter. I have been taking my pup to Petsmart for almost nine years and the price has always been in the range of $30-$35 for a bath and shave. I recently moved to Richmond and decided to try out this location. Huge mistake. Upon picking up my dog i was slapped with a $50 tab. When i questioned the price I was rudely told, "We don't usually shave pugs so this was a special job that took longer." Seriously? He's a 16lb pug that already had short hair. Ive been shaving him since he was a pup. I couldnt take the stupidity so I walked outside and called three other locations and asked for the price. All were in the range of $30-$32. I went back inside and told the Manager and her response, "Our prices are just higher out here". What a bunch of bull. Never coming back. The worst experience ever. I took my beautiful Golden Retriever (reddish hair) here today for his normal trim. The computers were down when we arrived, the groomer ask what do you want done today. I said his regular cut. Which is trim him and get rid of the excess hair. She asked about a 7 or 10 which I didn't understand so I said your the expert. When I came to pick him up he was completely shaved. What the hell. You NEVER shave a golden. It is bad for them. Their fur protects them in winter and keeps them cool in the summer.
