I was in there yesterday 4/24/26 to buy a couple fish, we arrived approximately 8:10pm -8:15 pm. The employee that was working up front walked up to us and instead of asking if we need any help she told us that is we wanted to buy any fish that we could not buy any until the next day. I asked why and she said that she was getting the store ready to be closed. Mind you the store closed at 9pm and the time was 8:15pm. Tell me why fish cannot be sold 45 minutes prior to close. I can understand maybe 10 minutes prior to close but 45 minutes. In my day making a sell came 1st. Without the customer you don't have a Job. Everytime I go to petco or PetSmart I see the bettas not being taken care of the best. I got my betta 2 days ago. In my care he's already looking and doing so much better... when I found him at this petco his bottom fins were so curled and he wasn't the best swimmer. Having him in my care and a good tank I can see he's already doing and looking better. His fins have uncurled a little and I'm so excited for him to be at his full little fishy potential. read more

While this store isn't exactly the cleanest it's a pet store! So I don't mind. The grooming is decent nothing fancy, I have 2 chihuahuas and mostly do it for the nail trimming anyway. We recently added a rescue puppy to our mix and wanted to take advantage of the buy 2 get 1 Kong toys and my 25% coupon. We had the most outstanding help from Brandy, she scanned prices, went in back to help find a crate bed and even took a crate down to see if the one would fit! She found us an amazing one under $10! Went to Petco for a quick stop to get my fish supplies. The store is very nice and organized. But I notice the stock of the store is limited. I though everything in Texas is bigger. Well is this case I guess not!? They still have pretty good selections, but some of more un-common supplies, well they just do not have it here. At the time of my visit I did not notice any dead fish, they must just clean it. But the knowledge of associate was very lacking, if you ask three people you will get three different answers. Yeah mega warehouse for pets, but educate yourself before you go in. Otherwise you would wonder what is right or wrong,and answers are not where to be found. read more

Booked grooming appointments online for my two Maltipoos and upon arriving I was notified that I would be charged a VIP Charge due to the later appointment time. When I mentioned that nowhere on the online booking does it say you will be charged an extra fee for later appointments. The groomer then tells me that he does not get overtime and the groom would take at least 2 hours. I understand charging an extra fee, but Petco needs to be up front about this on their website. The manager was useless and just repeated what the groomer said. What ever happened to customer service? It was as if they did not see that they were in the wrong for not telling customers before booking. This location just lost my business ( we have 3 dogs). read more

The environment in this location is extremely hostile. Everyone you come across (employees and other customers) are rude and obnoxious and you definitely don't feel welcome and makes your shopping trip really miserable. The whole time I was there I felt weird energy all around and you could hear people talking behind your back or making comments if you or your dog is doing something they don't like. After combing my Maltipoo that morning for 2 hours to rid her of any mats with a metal comb and a demating metal brush...Alleluyah!!!..we had ourselfs a miracle!...After the reception groomer told us "I cant feel any mats" the actual groomer tried to defuse the standard Operationg Procedure with a "I found soo many mats skin deep that I had to go really low on your dog" (Hi Linda!) After a record breaking 2 hours 15 minutes our dog was ready. Funny that my dog had exactly the same Military style haircut that the previous dog that left before mine. Hint: Shhh....Keep your mouth shut when you pick up your dog or the bouncer/cashier will bully you back into your place. Save yourself the dissapointment. Ask for Brandon at Bunkerhill`s PetSmart. BTW....I will take my pet to the Vet tomorow to ask about the bruise on my dogs abdomen, I really hope is just a trimmer burn. read more

I rarely get a weekday off. Had one yesterday so I wanted to get our dogs groomed. I took them to Petsmart before but they are not that great. Although Petsmart had availability yesterday afternoon I thought I would give Pedco a call. They said they could do both dogs if I bring them right away. I drove there like Steve McQueen. Then waited for about 25 minutes for the grooming department to enter the dog vaccination records. Then, she tells me that they could not do the grooming because the dogs are large. She never asked how big they were when I called . Also, I did say they are Standard Poodles. They did not even care that they wasted my entire afternoon. It was also too late to take them to Petsmart. I will never go back to this store. Why would anyone go to a store that doesn't know about the animals we pay them to care for? read more

I went to this store on the first day, and bought a beta fish, and other items for my other pets. Against all odds, I still have this crazy fish! When I have had issues with it, they have given me advice. As for my dogs, my little dog is allergic to chicken. The staff there has always helped me find the correct food with the least ingredients for my chicken allergic dog. Jeni and Ren were extremely helpful with this. They each helped me read the ingredients and also attended other customers when I was looking (they have a huge selection and reading the ingredients can take a while). They also STOPPED me from buying a treat that I know my dog loves, because it is mainly made of chicken. Since the change in the food, and stopping me from buying the treat, my dog isn't having bad reactions any longer. Just having that experience means that I will keep coming back. Thank you Petco! I paid for my miniature poodle to have a bath, full groom, and teeth cleaning yesterday. When I picked her up it was clear that she hadn't even been given a bath. The groomer had given her a quick trim of her coat and that was it. Her " poodle paws" were done half-ass. Her legs/ears/crown weren't evened up. She had the same dirt on the ends of her ears that I brought her in with. And her breath stank: a clear indication that her teeth weren't brushed. Rumor has it that Petco and PetSmart are in merger discussions--$19 a share...this store is small but will be increasing the shareholder's dividend. The bustling crowd could cause in store buggy rage. One buggy per isle at the back of the store, IMO best to leave your Lab and 2.5+ children at the casa. Did see approximately 6-7 sales associates gathered in a Basset Hound adoption, scored stars for that. Store new and still clean. Selection of food/treats significant for a small location. Extremely limited speciality food for sensitive stomach or calming food for seniors, meaning I could only find one brand that carried such. 2 associates could not assist in locating same. RX food purchased at Vet is less than here, quality same. Price point approximately 10-20% less for Fresh Pet Vital at Kroger next door, of course selection is less. Staff had no knowledge of Feliway (common calming liquid to pour in cat's water bowl) and nothing known in stock. Neither associate referred me to someone that could possibly help or refer me to their website. I did spy an expensive solution that can be sprayed on your lawn or your irresponsible neighbor to dissipate the odor from dog fecal material. Good info. Three checkout lanes opened. Did state that my PetCo number for discount not working but that had been a glitch for them with their customers, was told I could sign up for another PetCo card, not happening. When this store opens up a drive thru line, I might return. Groomers ensuite, no shot records required, meh. read more

I was just going for a quick trip to get 2 small items. I walked up to the cash register and no one was there, I looked around and there were absolutely no workers to be seen nearby the register so i proceeded to wait for 15 minutes!!! Eventually someone else came behind me in line and i told them how long i had been waiting, she went and told the workers the situation (ALL the workers were standing in an isle chatting), and one finally came up to check me out. He said absolutely nothing! Did not apologize or try to make any conversation with me whatsoever. Absolutely horrible customer service and will not be returning. read more

Even though PetSmart is closer to my home, I always choose to shop at Petco. I prefer their selection and their overall corporate values. Today, I have been forced to rethink my choices as I visited this location, I shop at Petco at least once or twice a week as my dogs go through food, toys, collars, etc fairly quickly. The staff at this location was very rude and unprofessional. I did not realize the store had closed, but I was walking to the register, I stopped to glance at one of the products in the shelf when I was approached by an associate who asked if I needed help with something, I told him thank you but I'm actually on my way to checkout, he than rudely barks back, well we're actually closed so if you're done and in a very condensing tone rolls his eyes and gestures for me to go to the checkout. I understand if you're closed, you want me out of there, I did not realize they were closed, it was maybe 2-3 minutes after closing, and he could have simply said "by the way we're closing so when you're ready please proceed to checkout". I've worked retail, trust me I would have understood, but I do not understand rudeness or condescending tones. Stopped in for pet food and found SIX bettas out of a small display of them--nearly half!--dead as doornails and just floating in their jars. They didn't look recently deceased, either. Never will I ever return to this location. Walked in and wasn't greeted at all no biggie can careless. Waited for "Jon or John" with grayish white hair and glasses walked up and already seemed put off. Clearly you can tell that I had some sort of injury due to me wearing my shoulder sling after having surgery I let him know that I am here for my online order. 47lb bag of Purina Pro. He checks my ID and the just leaves the dog food on the counter. I ask him for a cart and he points and tells me their over there... okay well I can get it no worries welp just when I thought it wasn't gonna get worse he then stands there on his phone and I ask him can you help me load it into the cart. He takes a breath and says NOTHING TO ME. Loads it in the cart and that's it. LUCKILY we had my father in law with me cause I can't drive. This location has such wonderful and helpful staff, they helped me resolve all my problems and made sure to do their best to meet my needs. And when they weren't busy with costumers, I saw them cleaning, which btw, I will add how nice and tidy and well organized the store is. Great work here guys! If you have options do not shop here. When they first opened (earlier this year) I gave them the "growing pains" pass for the lack of stock and disorganization. Yesterday, after waiting at the check out for 5 minutes with no staff in sight, I asked the groomers to call someone to the front. Over the next 5 minutes there were 4 more customers looking for ANY employee while 3 more customers just walked out. So where were the employees? In the staff room RIGHT NEXT TO THE CASH REGISTER!!! The general consensus was that this is the norm for this location. So - if you do choose to shop here after reading this review please plan to spend twice as long as you normally would... in a line with angry customers. read more

STAY AWAY from here if you have a labradoodle! Don't even try it! I went today to drop our 8 month old labradoodle off for grooming. I spent 10 minutes, literally, talking to the groomer about all the horror stories I've heard about labradoodles getting shaved, or cut/trimester incorrectly. If you love labradoodles chances are it's due to their fluffy, shaggy coats. I told her I just wanted her hair over her eyes barely trimmed and I wanted her to have her pads shaved and a bath. She said she totally understood what I wanted and she promised me she wouldn't cut or shave her. We picked her up about an hour ago and I couldn't believe my eyes. She looked HORRIBLE. SHES BALD ON TOP, her nose is shaved, her legs are all shaved-it's the most pathetic thing I've ever seen. I said what did you do to her and she immediately said "exactly what you asked me to do and I'll go get a manager". I was in shock, I'm still in shock, the manager was in shock. I cannot even begin to describe how bad this looks and because she's a puppy, her hair will not coke back in the same-and who knows how long it will even taken for her hair to grow back at all. I'm just sick. SICK. The manager told me the general manager will be there tomorrow and she wants me to talk to him and you bet I will. What makes this all even worse, if there is such a thing, is the groomers attitude and hatefulness. Please don't take your labradoodle to this place, please. It's horrible. read more

I'd like to take a moment to brag on the grooming salon and specifically Angela. A few days ago we decided to adopt a dog after we lost our previous dog. We ended up adopting a English Springer Spaniel from C.A.P.S.. Penny as we've called her was an owner turn in and you can tell had been taken care of at one point, but lately had been left outside. She had several mats in her hair and needed a good trim. C.A.P.S. did the best job they could, but some mats needed to be removed from the fray of hair from her ears leaving gaps. We called on a Monday morning and Angela answered the phone. We were ecstatic to hear she herself had a Spaniel. She asked us to go ahead and bring Penny in. She gave her a good once over and recommended a good trim, what we could do about the ears., etc. Her work was fantastic! She even was gracious enough to go over the grooming routine we should keep Penny on, etc. We highly recommend Angela. Very professional, polite and all around a great person! read more

Hurt my dog with no apology. I took my 26 pound rescue here to be groomed on May 16th 2016. When we picked him up he was whining to leave, way more than usual. When we got home we noticed I had blood all over my shirt. They had cut his quick very badly and you could see the exposed blood vessel oozing blood. We brought him back in and we asked to speak to a manager. The manager comes over with the groomer (#1 thing you shouldn't do in the professional world). The groomer then told us "It happens all the time" and "[I] usually catch it before they leave." I worked in a kennel for 4 years I understood it happens often but not this deep. And she said it wasn't that bad so I showed her the blood soaked rag in my other hand. She put stypic powder on him (he yelped a couple of times) and we asked the manager for an incident report. We left without a SINGLE apology from the manager. Not one. No "hey here's a free stypic bottle in case you need it" no anything. As of today he is limping and we are trying to stave away infection. read more
