Please do not take your pets there. I payed $72 for a job that was not even finished. This person will not only hurt your pets and blame it on the owner but also lie about their behavior and overprice every single detail. I bathe my dog regularly and do all kinds of stuff in order to leave her clean and never have I ever seen or heard of my dog misbehaving or even screaming during these sessions. We just got a notice saying she was constantly screaming when in reality we know she would never do that unless someone is trying to hurt her. I finally asked Tania about the negative reviews because they are so opposite of what I've observed during the years I've taken my Poppy there. Tania said there's one lady who has held a grudge about a $10 fee for years. Google has taken them off when they see it's from the same source, but Yelp said she'd need a lawyer and she can't afford that. I took both of my dogs here. One was a Yorkshire terrier, and the other was a Pekingese mix. They did a fabulous job on both. My Yorkshire terrier got a schnauzer cut because of his activity level, and my Pekingese mix got the summer cut. The business was very professional, and very caring for my animals. Absolutely love this place, she did a great job on both my dogs. When I brought them in they were a mess, I knew it was going to cost me a little more due to how matted & tangled one of my dogs were. The first time we went to the groomers here, it went very well. We were very happy with the results! They originally priced us at $60, but because they said our dog was being difficult, they charged us $80 which we can understand especially knowing being a dog groomer can be difficult. We accepted it and paid without any hesitation. We came back a second time, they charged us the same except my dog has a terrible haircut and cuts on his ears! They never mentioned it to us at all. We didn't find the cuts until we got home when he started acting weird. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVING PETS HERE YALL!!!! Take your money elsewhere or end up with your dog being traumatized!!! My regular groomer was unavailable and Katy Grooming said she could take all 3 of my 20 pound shelties same day so I was thrilled. 1 of them is a single coat and the remaining 2 double coats. The 2 were not matted but had a lot of hair so I said she could cut them short. She did a wonderful job, but I about fell over when I picked them up and she told me it was $319. There was no pricing and I didn't ask beforehand but at $166K a year ($80/hour), she makes a lot more than me and I can't afford her. We were in Katy after a day at the dog park and decided Abby needed to get groomed, especially since she hasn't gotten professionally groomed in years. We scheduled a "walk-in" and they were able to accommodate us. We dropped Abby off and was told she would be finished in two hours (which happened to be 30 mins after their closing time). We appreciated that she was going to be taken very good care of due to her having a thick coat of hair. She had to be washed many times for all the excess hair to be removed. She also had her anal glands expressed, which probably relieved lots of pressure. We were charged $65 for a large, very dirty, and furry lab which we thought was reasonable. However, there isn't a set cost or a "menu" in the waiting area. Overall, she had her teeth cleaned, nails trimmed, body washed and brushed to where she doesn't shed if you grab her, and cologned. She was also given a cute bandana for free. The owner did an extreme thorough job and we couldn't be more pleased. We've had a possible experience and Abby did not appear distressed when we picked her up like the other reviews. read more

Was given a different price when I picked up the dog, because he was "difficult". Could have called me and told me this before you proceeded. Nothing like an extra 30 or 40 dollars over your quoted price. Never had this happen at other groomers. Also was told the 'new' price would be the price I paid every time,because hes 'difficult'. Had to sign a release form that removes them from liability for cuts or scratches etc. Also never had to do this at other groomers. After a day, I found that he had razor rash all over him, which eventually turned into scabs all over his legs, chest and neck. The overall cutting job was not bad, but the scabs and rashes and surprise extra fees were enough to turn me off. Won't go back. read more

So my brother had taken my dads dogs here previously and she did a great job at grooming them. My brother not being available this time around, it was my turn to help old dad out. I needed to take one of the pups in to get a much needed grooming. My appointment was set for 10:30am and I showed up around 10:20am. We were able to get started immediately and my being so overly sensitive, I was able to stay back there and help hold him while she shaved him. He then went back for a bath. Tanya then explained to me that she would have him ready in an hour. I stated to her that I'd like to just finish up now and not have to come back because I needed to get to work. She was able to accommodate my request! After his bath, she was able to clip his toenails and finish up the shaving. Both me and Charlie (the pup) walked out very happy!! She used to be Good, but she got greedy. I was always told $30 for my dogs then she said one day without warning, my prices are $40. I have three dogs and was shocked and outraged. I didn't appreciate, the no warning of price change. I decided to come in earliear then she asked, to pick up my dog. She was shaving a maltese. She kept slapping the dog and end it up cutting it with her grooming pet clipper. She said something in Spanish. Then, because she was so stressed out kept yanking at dogs collar. I was apalled at her behavior. This did it for me. I know we all go through things but to take it out on your customers pets is uncalled for. Oh and to add to my shock she says it's $49 for two of my dogs and $46 for the other. I said, You did it again?!!! "Did what", she replied, Change the price! I should report her for animal abuse. This is by far, the best pet grooming salon I've even taken my Baby dog to. Tanya is always super nice and gives you great personal service. I've never had a bad experience. They will accommodate you on short notice and are super understand when you're late to pick up your pup. My dog struggles with skin sensitivity and gets skin rashes out of nowhere. Tanya would tell me about home remedies for rashes. She's great! I switched to here from Petsmart Grooming and I never looked back! read more

I think she does a great job with my dogs. I have 1 Samoyed and 1 Malamute/German Shep mix. I think her prices are pretty good too, especially when you compare them to other groomers in town. I tried another groomer here in Katy a few months ago because it was closer to my home (Woof Dog Bakeries groomer) but that groomer seemed very confused about cleaning up my Samoyed Kai's sanitary area. They did a strip rather than a huge circle and due to Kai's touchy stomach, he was a mess within a week. Plus he seemed very anxious when I picked him up. Anyway, I am taking my dogs back to Tania. In fact Kai has an appointment at 1pm today. Tania does a great job de-matting his long white fur and both of my dogs really seem to like her. read more

So, at the last minute I found myself needing a groomer for my dog today. I read the bad reviews and was a little worried, but all went well. I found the staff to be personable, friendly and professional. It's a small operation, but they did quality work and my dog was quite happy with the staff... which tells me they must have treated her fairly well. She seems happier than when I pick her up from much bigger operations that cost more and are more of a hassle to get appointments. To be fair, she is a very even tempered pet, but she will alert me if she doesn't like someone and there was none of that happening at drop off or pickup. The only thing is that the pricing seems to not be consistent. I'll be better placed to comment on that if I go back a second time and can then compare. But, from what I could tell, there is no set pricing that can be seen in the lobby area.. so you are basically just waiting for pickup and they give you a price to pay after the fact. So, I can see how the complaints on pricing that I read are likely true. It's obvious they just decide in the moment what to charge. I paid $45 and they did a full groom, cut, painted nails and nail grinding and a cute bandana. read more

My poor dog was hurt badly there. When I arrived they brought him out and his nose was bleeding. The lady took him back into the room and poured powder on his nose and pressed on it. She said it will stop. It continued to bleed a lot . So she put more powder. We were there about 15 minutes and it bled a little less and continued to bleed in the car. This was the worst grooming ever done on him, and cutting his nose made it worse. Do not take your dog here if you love him. Run and go someplace else! read more
