So I called this place two times a day almost for a whole week and nobody called me back even though I left voicemails. Finally, today someone picked up my phone only to tell me that they don't work on Rottweilers because they're vicious... first of all, not all dogs are vicious, my dogs temperament is very calm and sweet. The standard the industry has for "vicious" types dogs should be frowned upon. Secondly, as a company it shouldn't have a voicemail that says leave your name and number if you aren't gonna call back. This establishment scream unprofessionalism. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone because they automatically believe some dogs are aggressive because of their breed. As a pet store, you should know better than to assume all dogs are vicious because of breed. I've attached a picture of my "vicious" breed dog. I'm disgusted to say the least. read more

My wife is very, VERY, picky about our how our dog, Iris, is groomed. She's been taking her to the same place for about 10 years, but we used to live a lot closer to that place. Now it takes about 45 minutes to get there each time. Recently she hurt her back, my wife, not Iris. So it fell on me to take Iris to be groomed, but with a busy schedule, 45 mins would have been very challenging for me. My wife decided to give Suburban Mutt a try after seeing many good reviews. The owner was there and she was very pleasant. She asked several questions to make sure they would get the cut just right. She even made helpful suggestions. The place was very clean, and I liked that they had large windows showing into the back, so you could actually watch your furry friend get groomed. When I went back to pick up Iris, the owner mentioned several times that if my wife wasn't completely satisfied with the grooming to please bring Iris back so they could make it right. I thought that was a nice touch. As it turns out my wife loved the cut, and Iris herself seemed pretty happy too! I am very picky on where I take my fur babies. They can't talk so I have to figure it out for myself. Being new to Katy I got on yelp and saw Suburban Mutt has top ratings I also saw another customer say how picky his wife is therefore I booked an appointment here. I still felt uneasy until I walked in and the owner greeted me with a smile and she was so sweet to my babies. I explained how shy and scared they are (separation anxiety) so she kennels them in the daycare area. Well when I picked up my kiddos I could tell they were well taken care of. This place is really top notch. Our dog has a blast when getting a hair cut/bath and that is saying a lot. I like that they don't use cage dryers and rarely put them in cage at all. They have reasonable pricing and have always been able to fit us into their schedule in a jiff. Our dog is small with medium length hair and they never cut it to short. This company does an excellent job. The owner is an incredibly nice lady and is always trying to do whatever it takes to make the customer happy. Amazing!!!! Love this place and will be coming back!! The two ladies I spoke with were so polite, friendly, and gave great information on the facility before hand as I dropped off my dogs. They truly care here for your furry babies!! They have a window that is made for customers to actually see the bathtubs, the kennels, all the grooming etc.. The dogs are not taken to the "back area" to get groomed nor wait how it is at big franchise places. Never knowing what really goes on back there or how they treat them!!! They did an amazing job on both my babies and I could even tell my dogs were happy that they were there and cared for!!! At other places, they would physically shake and cry upon arrival/pick up. And I'm a firm believer in dogs having a good senses on people/places. The grooming was perfect, just what I asked!!! The package 2 is the works! Awesome deal! They have a large section of products, food, accessories, you name it they probably got it! And organic foods too! Best place thus far that I've ever taken my dogs.. Took my dog here for his first ever grooming appointment and loved the service from beginning to end. The owner was very nice and helped explain things to me so I could understand the grooming process. After looking online and reading other reviews I decided to take my new rescue dog in for a cut. I was so nervous, but had no reason to be! The owner was super sweet when I called to set up the appointment , but I was still a little apprehensive to turn my guy over to someone else. When we walked in this morning I could just feel the good energy surrounding the store/ grooming salon. My dog walked right over to the salon with the owner- I was shocked! While I filled out paperwork other dogs came in and the owner greeted every one by name! It was like a "Cheers" for dogs! When I picked my new fur baby up I expected him to be sore and red (he was VERY matted and tangled when we came in). But no! He came out happy and calm and looked AMAZING!
