He chose this fish and said, "Wow," when he saw it, so of course I had to get it. Very happy with the service by the staff as they reminded me that I needed food to feed it. lol!! Ongoing Issue - Unsafe Housing Led to Lost Pet, No Resolution After a Month I purchased a young milk snake from Petco over a month ago, and it escaped the same day due to the inadequate container it was sold in. I'm writing this right warn others do not take your pets to be groomed here. Or if you really care about animals, you would not shop here either. The staff is uncaring and rude! This was the first grooming appt made here, Linda M was the groomer. She was pleasant upon check-in and upsold her products, caring about my fur baby I accepted. A few hours later, she called to say he was ready, informing me she was unable to trim his nails as he was too excited. I arrived to pick up my boy, questioned the charges (lots of extra fees), and then I proceeded to check out. I then walked my boy over to the grass for a break, then had him get in the car. Immediately, I noticed there was blood on my car seats. Not just a drop or two but many fresh spots in the front and back. I decided to return inside the store to alert staff my boy was bleeding. There were fresh blood spots all around us. He was actively bleeding. I was upset to see this and asked for the manager. Steven (employee) went to locate manager (Tighe- sp?). Tighe proceeded to say all they could do was put powder on it. I explained I had just got him groomed, and Linda said nothing about cutting him or he was bleeding, just that she couldn't trim his nails because he was too excited. I questioned why she didn't tell me he was hurt and asked if they had veterinary services on-site. My boy continued to bleed. Now we could see it was from his back paw region, but he still wouldn't let anyone touch it, and it continued to bleed. I called my vet, and office staff advised we was not in but that if his paw was cut, we should get him to a vet before it got infected. I repeated this to Tighe, but he said that wasn't necessary. By now, I'm pretty upset seeing my boy bleeding and crying. But employees would do nothing. Because my animal wouldn't allow them to touch his paw, they said there was nothing they could do. Tighe said mistakes happened and that my animal was difficult, so he probably got injured. Then, he asked me to leave the store, even calling the police. I'm appalled at how uncaring this staff is. They were more concerned with cleaning the blood off the floor than the care of my pet! I called the Petco customer service line and spent over 30 minutes talking to the rep to file a complaint against this store, only to find out that the department was closed. This rep eventually hung up on me with no attempts to call me back. I had to Google this number as the store employees refused to give it to me, telling me I'd have to look it up myself. These actions displayed corporate at its worst, and I plan on following up with the Petco Corporate offices tomorrow. DO NOT GIVE PETCO STORES YOUR BUSINESS! As a lifelong pet owner, I'm so upset about what happened here. Please help me boycott this store and send a clear message to them! BTW, I brought my boy home, soaked his paw in epson salt to avoid any infection, and the bleeding seemed to have stopped. I will follow up with my vet in the morning. read more

However, to my dismay they had them set in the middle of the sore and just given a podium and a table, just stupid. It's crazy the you can't find a suitable spot for the team, but you have a whole section for training. Poor management and planning. No regards for the staff , the pets and owners just standing around the store waiting to be called. My one star rating is not for the staff but for the inconsiderate management. I was really excited to get my dogs first haircut done . I made an appointment for 12 and they said it could take up to 4 hours but expect it to be sooner . I called around 2:30 because I had work at three they said he would be done by 3:30 so I arranged for someone else to pick him up for me. When they showed up to pick him up she was told it would be another hour and that they haven't even started. What we're you doing with my dog for the last 3 1/2 hours ? He was just sitting in a kennel? What is the point of the appointment time if he's waiting for3 1/2 hours just to get started ! Unbelievable and they weren't even kind enough to let us know what was going on. It is currently 4:05 He is still not done UPDATE : he was don't at 4:30 UGLIEST HAIRCUT looks like it was done by a 5 year old. Looks rushed I am not happy ANOTHER UPDATE: just got home from work to take a look at him myself. His whiskers are cut and his balls are razor burned and swollen beyond belief I will have to take him to the vet. I was treated very rudely and lied to by a representative named Cassidy. My cat's claw was infected so I was sent to Petco by the vet to get a special litter to use for two days. I asked for the litter made from a newspaper called Yesterday's News. She said they didn't carry anything like that there. She told me the paper litter was in the guinea pig section and that is what I should use. I called the vet and he explained that I could not use the guinea pig paper litter, which would be bad for my cat. After repeatedly telling me they did not have Yesterday's News and telling me to get guinea pig litter that would be bad for my poor cat with an infected paw she then brought a bag of Yesterday's News litter to me. They did carry it she just didn't want to bother with telling me where it was. And it happened again. I asked for the tuna flake cat treats. She said they don't carry anything like that. I pulled Petco's website up on my phone and showed her the images of the tuna flakes that Petco carries. In other words, it's like when a person's IQ is so low, they can't comprehend communication in words and you have to draw a picture for them. That's what I did, I showed her the website of the company she works for and the different tuna flakes that they carry. And she took me to an aisle of canned cat food - and nothing there was or looked like in anyone's wildest imaginings like a jar of dried tuna flake cat treats. She continued to speak with a whiney voice letting me know that I was annoying her with questions about these products I wanted to buy from Petco that she did not want me to buy as she would have to ring them and she apparently is very much against work, she is there to get paid for giving customers wrong information and trying to get them to leave the store without buying the products they want. Her boss the GM, was not there to help me. I called Petco Customer service. And I hit the number it gave me to have someone call me back as their wait time was 20 minutes. Took my dog to a grooming appt with the Halloween package, that includes a Halloween bandana. When it was time to pick her up, no bandana and no information about it, till my daughter noticed. Went back to inquire about it and their response was that they haven't received their shipment yet. Then why advertise it? Why not let the customer know from the beginning that there is no Halloween bandana? I said that I shouldn't get charged for the so called Halloween package!! Took my dog to get groomed @ your Mason Road location in Katy, Tx. His groomer was there when I picked him up and smiled and handed me my receipt to check. She didn't mention that she nipped my dog several times and removed part of his nipple. Thank God he rolled over so I could rub his belly or I never would've known. Is this what we as customers should expect? Unprofessional groomers who don't even have the common decency to be upfront about stuff like this? Accidents happen, but to pretend it didn't and not even mention is despicable and dishonest. ***Update, I believe I spoke w/ Luke in the grooming salon when I went in (later that night), since the groomer Melanie/Melody wasn't in. Luke was amazing. He was super helpful, very apologetic, he checked out my pup and said they'd cover the vet cost if I decided to take him in. He also gave me a refund for the groom, and loved on my pup the whole time. He was the best. We ended up going to All Pets Animal Hospital and the vet agreed it was razor burn and prescribed a cream to apply to the cuts to keep it from getting infected. Petco paid in full w/ no issues, and a few days later Travis the grooming manager called to check on my pup and offer a free groom. I doubt I'd go back, but if I did it would be for a bath only and it would be w/ Luke. My pup warmed right up to him. I'm satisfied w/ how Petco handled the situation after it was brought to their attention, my issue is that it wasn't brought up to my attention when I picked my pup up. What if I hadn't noticed it until a few days and later and it had gotten infected? I'd probably be stuck w/ the bill and continuing to allow my dog to get groomed there. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE GROOMERS HERE! I just moved to the area and made an appointment with the Petco to have my dog groomed over the phone. I showed up on the day of and walked my dog into the grooming area (which was extremely dirty and nasty and made me hesitant to even leave my dog with them). The two women in this area were extremely rude and acted annoyed the entire time. I had brought in the vaccination records that they had asked for, however I was told that they were the last years shot records (my mistake) so I quickly sent over a scan of the most recent records. I also tried to call back to verify several times and they literally just didn't answer the phone. They very rudely called me back and told me to "come get my dog, we don't have time to groom him anymore". I had been told this was going to be a 4 hour appt and with the shot record mistake taking up the first 30 minutes, I asked if they would just do a short bath and face groom only (instead of the full groom) and they said no, which is fine but they were incredibly rude. Worst customer service ever, women in grooming room were soooooo rude, they will tell you to come get your dog if they don't have time anymore, and they were not even being nice to the two small dogs that were in there getting their hair cut. I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff at the Petco off of Mason Road and Kingsland Blvd. As a novice aquarium enthusiast the staff has gone above and beyond to help me with my every need with my very first 10 gallon tank to my 20 gallon and they were so right, They could tell that I was serious about my enthusiasm and sincerity about my fish and about the upkeep of having my tanks that I now have five tanks! And I enjoy them to no end. thanks to all the great knowledge that of staff, I won't say names even though I know every single one of you by now ha ha ha! Simply put these are great people! Family setting you just can't go wrong here. As a starter and I mean from the very beginning tank up beginning these people have been nothing but a plethora of sound advice! I did my due diligence before finally settling in with Petco at this location because of the education and expertise in their aquatics. They have not let me down yet. Don't get discouraged by the negative reviews some people are just impatient I have watched this first hand mind you, this is where their expertise comes in to those negative reviews the person is questioning about this or that and another person walks in and intrudes on a conversation that's already being had with said customer service help and a customer and a new person walks in and immediately disrupt that conversation. This is where their customer service comes in and very politely says, I'll be with you in just a moment. They are never rude at all and just have great attitudes and work as a family at this location. But if you walk in and disrupt the conversation when they're educating a customer; they will politely tell you one second please. This has not only happened to me where somebody walked to the front door and it doesn't matter if a customer service rep is with somebody they just walk up and interrupt your conversation not that you've been there but a whole five minutes and just expects said customer service person to drop what they're doing and help them. Who is really in the wrong there( said negative posters) That's their job! They are doing their job by educating people. This is a wonderful place and they will always have my business thanks to the great customer service! Great store Phenomenal staff service Great products. I also think that it would probably be a great idea if they could have some outside chairs or maybe an inside chair area where people can sit and nerd out. Customers not only the staff have great information to share. That's why I love this place so much! Even the customers are so knowledgeable that you can just sit in the area while your dogs are getting groomed or vaccinated or just sit and like I said, nerd out together would be a great addition to this to this establishment. We were having dinner nearby and realized we had forgotten something at Petsmart when we went earlier in the day. While it's not our favorite we decided to just run by Petco since they were closest and it was about an hour or less until they closed. This is probably the first time I have ever walked in to ANY Petco and not felt that someone forgot to clean the hamster cages. That is what just about every Petco has smelled like to me - dirty rodent cages - and this one has in the past as well. But on this day I didn't smell anything. And that's a good thing! I do have to say that I'm pretty impressed by the types of dog and cat food they carry (healthier than your average grain-filled major brands) and they actually had a larger variety of toys than Petsmart did. So after this trip my husband and I have decided that we'll start coming here more often for our pet needs. read more

As far as the store goes, I was helped by a nice cashier but no management was around at all to help out, or speciality employee, to make sure I was even qualified as an adoptee. I had to return the ferret, which breaks my heart. She was covered in fleas and pretty wild in nature. Wish Travis was there in the first place when I got her. Everything Pet on Fry Road and Misty Cove have better animal food and would NEVER take care of their reptiles as other reviewers have said than this major "dont give a crap about anything but our pocketbooks" chain. Unfortunately, I had to use the ladies room but after asking 2 associates whether or not I could use the bathroom, they told me it was not available to the public. I know we are in a different times but come on, not allowing customers who are frequently your business to not use the facilities is kind of crazy. The other location which I already left a review for made me upset with not calling me to let me know the bather called out. Anyway I had to find a petco that could take my dog early and I finally called this place they had an appointment available. First off on the phone they were polite and I just felt calmer after my bad experience at the other location. I got there and I have never left my dog anywhere with anyone so I was scared. I was in today looking at Large dog beds for a new rescue Husky I got today, plus food and toys and food and water bowls. This Petco is closest to my house so I went there to look although Petsmart and Walmart had cheaper prices. All of the large dog beds were really expensive so I walked to the young lady at the cash register and asked if they had any large dog beds on sale? She said in not a horrible tone but not nice either "whatever's over there is what we got". Ok, if I'm the manager of the store not exactly what I would like her response to be but I didn't get mad. My reply was "compared to the other stores you guys are over priced on these beds and I promise I said it extremely nice even though I should have just kept my mouth shut cause I hate being that guy. Her next reply in an extremely rude voice "well those decisions are made well above my pay grade". This is a decent location. They had what I was looking for so my trip was a success. The gal who checked me out was cordial but efficient. The only gripe I have is that there didn't seem to be a bathroom. Surely I was just not seeing it? I was hoping they had a water fountain to give my dog a sip of water (freakin' HOT out).
