Wether it's a car ride, hiking, swimming or maybe go to the mall. I wanted a dog that can do many tricks and impress my friends and family while protecting us anywhere we go. I started researching online and discovered that such a dog can cost anywhere from $50k to a $120k (not kidding). Not willing to spend this kind of money, I decided to go a different route. I started my search for a good working lines German shepherd dog breeder and found one locally. I got my pup around 8 weeks old and wanted to find a good dog trainer right away. After countless days of speaking to different trainers, I came across Nick through Facebook and decided to give him a try. From the moment I spoke to Nick, I knew that he was a great fit for Apollo. He explained to me that this is a project dog and cannot be completed overnight and will require different courses throughout my puppy's development which I happily agreed to. I sent Apollo in for the very first time at 3 months old for his first 2 weeks program. It made a huge difference. I couldn't believe that it was the same dog. Apollo was crate trained, obedient and was able to learn more than 7 commands in German. Apollo is 7 months old now and I just dropped him off to Nick for another 2 weeks. I can't wait to see what my pup can learn this time! It's really hard to find a dog trainer that can handle Apollo's level of energy. I will not let anyone touch Apollo but Nick.

If your little shi tzu mauled your kid, don't go to Cesar Milan. Get thee to an ACVB diplomat, a vet that is an animal behaviorist. Speaking from experience on this! Going to Dr. Haug was INSANELY expensive--b/c she is the top dog--heehee. It was very informative, but I was at a loss in knowing how to apply this knowledge to my home life w/o taking a second mortgage. I wish I had started w/ Sit Stay, and Obey! Sheila directly applies the theory and science AT MY HOME! My stupid dog can act like Lassie at an expensive, highly structured dog training facility. But my stupid dog won't act like that when he's with stupid me. Haha, I get that the majority of the solution lies w/ training me. Sheila came over to our house. She listened to the issues we had, helped us prioritize what needed to be worked on first, watched us, had us watch her, then had us try what we learned right there in our living room. She helped us get on a plan--realistic plan based on what we could actually achieve. And we had clear next steps and check-ins. I appreciate theory and information, but I am not smart enough to connect the dots into applying the knowledge at my house. I literally need someone to show me how to do this in my house, with my dog, and my family. We have since rehomed our little shi tzu at a god-send home w/ no kids. We now have an 8 month, almost 80 lb puppy that has benefited from working w/ Sheila since its first month on this earth. Because of Sheila our three-year old toddler is now empowered to help train and safely play with the monster (still always under our supervision of course). Sheila is guiding all of us to have the BEST relationships w/ the puppy and the puppy w/ us. It's quite beautiful after the scary start for my baby... And w/o paying the INSANE amounts of money to train my dog at somewhere other than our house. Thank you Sheila.... You've helped my baby's fear of dogs and empowered all of us to be whole again...

I stopped by for a visit and was given a nice tour. I booked a stay for my puppies and completed their paperwork. On the tour I saw the 3 different areas the pups could stay and chose the luxury room. The reason is I wanted my pups to be in one room together and since the lab hasn't been boarded in 5 yrs and the doodle, never I chose this as its quieter and has the cameras so we can peek in on them. I wanted the one with the indoor/outdoor run but is was big enough to accommodate 2 big dogs. I dropped them off and away I went. My wife checked in on them in their several times and was much at peace. Then we got pics from the pups socializing with the other pups and we felt so at peace. Pet Suites Fulshear was a great experience for us and our puppies. We will certainly us them.

The fellas looked well cared for when my son picked them up! My son forgot to check for the dogs blankets when he picked them up and Brian kindly drove them down to the city where we live so that the dogs would have them. Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

We initially thought we'd foster her for adoption due to her dog aggression issues. After working with Travis, we decided togive Rosie a forever home ourselves. We brought Travis in to privately train her so she didn't have to deal with the stress of a group setting and because we wanted a tailored training program. With Lone Star Dog Training, we received an excellent job. Travis educated us about how training is important and what results he felt we could see. Over the course of 4 months, Rosie went from being aggressive toward our other dogs to feeling safe and comfortable with them. She's even adopted our 12 year old border terrier as her sister. Rosie has progressed from a frightened stray who did not wag her tail or understand how to take affection, to bounding and leaping with joy when she sees her people. She now seeks out our affections and looks forward to spending time with us. If not for Lone Star Dog Training, we would not have decided to keep her.
