Honestly, I won't be coming back here. I got my dog groomed here and the back room where the grooming was being done is pretty loud. There's a fan that's blowing cool air into the cage where a pet is being held in. There is a portable tv that was playing a show which was kinda loud. My dog was feeling anxious and started licking his mouth and swinging his head side to side (typically my dog only does this when my dog feels uncomfortable). At petco they have a separate room where the pets are typically caged in and has a controlled cooling unit that doesn't have a high sounding vacuum pitch. There was little to none work for what my dog's grooming service was needed. I still got charged the full price! To the groomer I know this isn't your fault for the area that has the loud blower. Like I mentioned they should've have a separate room to control the noise level, and please show a little more compassion to the fellow pets that you groom. read more

I'm so glad I found this place. Their selection of dog food is drastically larger than other places and the quality of dog food is also drastically better. The employees are all very nice & helpful every time I've been there. I had to take my 5 month old baby with me and they insisted on carrying the dog food to my car to help me out. On my way back from vacation with my pups, I often find myself running low on pet food. Unsure of what I had left at home, I quickly decided to order online. The first time I visited the store, I was pleasantly surprised to discover it was nearby. The associate kindly looked up my address and confirmed they deliver to my location. Everyone I met there was incredibly helpful and sweet. After placing my order online, the store associate reached out to double-check the details. Since my dog had lost his ID tag during a hike, I ordered a new one that was marked available for delivery. While I could customize the engraving online, the associate couldn't see that information. I was really grateful she called because I would've been in for a surprise receiving a tag without any engraving! I sent her a screenshot with my contact numbers and my dog's name, and Kimberly promised to get back to me if she had any questions. Later that day, the delivery driver called to confirm she was heading to the right address. Our rental is a new build, and on the map, it looks like it's just in the middle of a field. I was relieved she reached out to verify the location--I would have hated to lose an expensive purchase if it didn't make it to my home. We sorted it out, agreeing on which house to stop at, depending on where my car was parked in the driveway. Everything went smoothly, and I'm thankful that the Hollywood associates felt comfortable calling rather than making assumptions. When I got home, I found food waiting for my pups, just in case I had run out of the extra I thought I might have. This was my second purchase from this company, and I'm definitely coming back, especially since my local pet store won't even deliver to my address! If you have a Pomeranian or any dog with a thick coat, I would avoid Hollywood Feed's self-wash station for several reasons. In the year and a half I've been coming here, I never knew there was a 30-minute time limit because it has always taken me two to two and a half hours to wash my dogs. I usually come early, between 9 and 10 a.m., since it's likely quieter before people get off work. I didn't want to be inconsiderate by taking up a spot for someone else, given that my dogs' grooming takes so long. Today, I came around 11 a.m., and the station was empty--likely because washing a dog in 30 minutes is unrealistic for most people, especially with thick-coated breeds. One of the main issues is that the blow dryer only has four horsepower, so drying thick fur completely takes longer than usual--especially with a breed like a Pomeranian. A dog's fur needs to be fully dried to prevent potential health issues. Leaving a thick-coated dog damp, especially in areas like the undercoat, can lead to skin irritation and create an environment for bacteria or fungi to grow. It also causes matting, which is uncomfortable for the dog and leads to more challenging grooming later. During my most recent visit, someone from corporate entered the room abruptly and told me to hurry up and leave, insisting it shouldn't take so long to dry my dogs. When I tried to explain why it took longer and even offered a bit of education on grooming thick coats, she dismissed my concerns and claimed that they just let dogs with thick coats air dry before brushing, which seems painful and ineffective. Even if I didn't agree with her advice, she failed to understand why my grooming would take longer than a short-haired dog. On top of that, the nozzle on the dryer was broken, which meant it kept popping off. I had to hold it in place by hand to keep the dryer on high power (which, as mentioned, only goes up to four horsepower). This was exhausting and uncomfortable, but necessary given the limitations of the equipment. This was the first time I've felt treated poorly at this location, but unfortunately, it was such a negative experience that I'm now reaching out to upper management. I hope they can improve their policies to accommodate different breeds fairly and perhaps educate their team to better understand the varying needs of customers with thick-coated dogs. read more

I want to begin by saying that I'm a frequent shopper at your store, and my family also regularly visits your Austin, TX location. We've always appreciated the service and amenities, which is why I was so disappointed with the experience we had this past weekend. I brought my rescue dog in for a bath using the self-wash stations, as we're still learning his preferences and this setup works best for him. Upon arrival, I asked about the washrooms and was met with rude comments from a staff member who repeatedly said my dog "smelled like a skunk." It was hurtful and unnecessary. We arrived at 10 a.m. hoping for a quick visit but were told both washrooms were dirty and needed to be cleaned and restocked. We were asked to return in 30 minutes, which we did. Upon returning, we were charged upfront--unusual, but I assumed it was a new policy. Unfortunately, the room we were directed to was still in poor condition. It had a strong odor, the wash basin and floor were dirty, and dog hair was swept into corners and along the baseboards. The product bin was empty, containing only a dirty brush and scrubber with another dog's hair. The trash can was full, and when I used the blow dryer, it blew loose hair all over my freshly bathed dog. I spoke with the manager, who offered excuses about staff performance and suggested a professional groomer re-bathe my dog instead of issuing a refund. I agreed, as I didn't want to take my dog home covered in someone else's pet hair. However, the groomer seemed disengaged, and my dog--who is sensitive to energy--was clearly uncomfortable. Overall, this experience was deeply disappointing. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes that store leadership will take steps to improve cleanliness and customer service standards. Not just a VERY poor grooming job today on our Yorkie, but the bad attitude and out-of-reality judgement for defending that bad grooming is inexcusable. The grooming was CLEARLY very bad, our dog looked like a patchwork quilt with the many (MANY) cow-licks (low spots) and high spots (missed areas) all over her body - many many down each leg, on her back, both of her sides, her tail looked horrible - it was as if an amateur with bad vision did the job! And I understand that everyone makes mistakes, but holy-moley, own up to a bad job, apologize and make it right. But to then stand there and say it was "a good job", and to continue to defend the failure is beyond the pale, poor judgement (2x), and just plainly bad business. It reminded me of an episode of Judge Judy that I saw one time, whereby a defendant was CLEARLY lying, and Judge Judy said "Don't piss on my leg and try to convince me that it's raining". While the store manager did offer for me (inconveniently) to either wait 2 hours to get worked-in, bring back our dog 3 hours later - or come back in the next few days for a re-do, were not options. I may have been otherwise willing to do this, but in lieu of the way that one gal defended the poor work, saying she thought it was "a good grooming", there was no way in h*ll I was good with that. Ultimately the manager offered me a refund, which was the right thing to do - but we will never go back, not just b/c of the bad (2) jobs (also see below), but more so b/c of the bad judgements of that one employee (circumstances surrounding the defending the bad job) today. This is on top of a poor grooming for our Schnauzer the week before - overall not as bad as the one today, but mistakes like in (accidentally) cutting off the eyelashes when we specifically asked they not be cut, among other "faux paws" (pun intended). An after-thought... IMO $75 for a dog's hair cut is much over-priced. Men can get a cut for $12 to $25 or so. Women's (haircut only) may be slightly more, but a dog at $75??? read more

Brought my golden retriever here to use the self-wash. The moment we walked in we were immediately greeted and welcomed by all staff. Came across this store while looking for somewhere to buy a my pup a quick meal. Staff was extremely friendly and super helpful. I explained it was my first time in the store and what I wanted and she quickly gave me suggestions and went into detail about their products. I noticed they had baked good at the cash register so decided to buy one considering the ingredients she listed sounded very nutritious. My pup loved the cookie as well as his canned meal. What a great pet store! Everyone was so friendly and the selection was great for our three dogs. We were bummed when we moved to the area and say the Natural Pawz is closed but Hollywood Feed is honestly better. They have an enormous selection of FROMM which is what we feed our dogs, and so many natural treats, supplies, and even the cutest little jacket and bandannas. They were also doing Christmas portraits! We are excited to have them as our newest neighborhood pet store - especially since they deliver! Used to go to Petco for my pups supplies until I got recommended to Hollywood Feeds by a family member. I've been consistently going for a little under a year. This is my ONE and ONLY go to for special treats, dog food and after yesterday grooming too! My dog had a messed up groom for a few weeks (NOT because of or from hollywoodfeeds) , so without an appointment I called the day of to ask for a walk in appointment with the groomers and they fit me in. Getting vaccination information to them and everything figured out was the easiest process I've ever done. My puppies first official grooming was with Sam, and she did an amazing job! I did ask for a full shave down and expected her to just look bald... but she looks amazing now! On top of that I've also gotten all of my pups treats there. I've never seen a dog store with such a large and high quality selection as the store in Sugarland. Besides the groomers, the front of the store staff is also extremely nice and helpful. Every time I've walked in there i've been greeted and given great suggestions for products I was looking for! This review is for Grooming, not the retail store: I am extremely upset about the cut my dog received by Sam at Hollywood Feed. This cut is definitely not what I asked for. He doesn't even look like the same dog. My dog had been growing out his fur for 6 weeks and just needed some trimming/clean up. This was my first time scheduling a grooming appointment here so I made it very clear how I wanted him cut and also texted her a previous grooming photo and examples for reference. I am 100% certain my dog did not have any knots or matting, so I am not sure why she completely butchered the teddy bear face and left the fur on his body uneven. This is by far the worst cut he has ever received. I don't typically leave poor reviews however the behavior and confidence my dog had, has changed and there is no possible way to make his fur longer again without time. I will not be returning back to Hollywood Feed for grooming again. I am not sure if Sam is new to grooming or if his type of fur was a curveball, but she underdelivered BIG TIME. This will definitely be our place to go instead of PetSmart / and I don't even like Petco BUT anyway, they have a huge variety of toys / treats for a reasonable price - just about the same price you would pay at the other big named stores. Go here instead!!! They have cute outfits for pets as well. Definitely coming back I've came back several times after my first visit and they don't fail To amaze me. Their staff is very knowledgeable about the product they are selling. We got treats that my dogs didn't like and we were able to get a refund for full price!!! She loved the cod skin treat and we ended up buying a dozen of them. So like I said in my Hollywood Feed review from the North Austin store I was on my way to the locations in Houston area, particularly Sugarland store location. In both visits, the first being too busy with their big sales opening I came back again to allow more time to review and assess all the neat items. This place did not disappoint. Both the products and the sales associates were all very helpful and friendly. With respect to the products there again where a lot of great organic based foods and treats for pets, both cat and dogs. Everything was well stocked and lots of choices for food, beds, and such. In fact there was a dog pad I found online and wanted to purchase but was curious about the material which this store carry's in stock. Along with that the sales associates provided feedback on dog food products they found the pickiest eaters would love and they were correct. The only drawback for me is the location isn't closer to where I live, but I don't mind when I do have to make a road trip here to restock. read more
