This is one of the nicest petsmarts I've ever been to! It offers so many different pet services I never knew existed... And all in one convenient location! The store is categorized into dog, cat, birds, and small animals. There are giant fancy circular signs hanging down from the ceiling that tell you which part you're in! So look up if you're lost! Fish are all along the left side wall and there's such a huge variety of fish here compared to other petsmarts! In the back, there's an extra fancy pet hotel with a hotel-like check in desk. The doggie day care and training camp is right next to it. There are windows there for you to watch as your little pal learns the works! Near the front, is the grooming center, also with windows for you to make sure your furry friend isn't getting the wrong makeover. There's even a giant scale by the grooming center for your four legged friend to see how fat he may have gotten under your care! Next to the grooming center is the check in for the pet hospital. There seems to be two DVM's that work there. Good to know! And last but not least, the adoption center is located on the other side near the fish. There are windows there as well to see which pet needs a home. The store is very well staffed, I saw at least two employees in every pet section, if not one in almost every aisle. And all the shelves are very well stocked with supplies and brands. If there's ever a store for you to count on to be in stock with something, it's this one. Service was ass. Was tryna look at cats to adopt or at the very least look at/ take a picture of there description and staff wouldn't let me. Tried to explain that I just wanted to at least take a picture of there description but the man kept interrupting me saying "you must be behind the glass " and every time kept stepping closer. Mind you I am a minor and the man had no right to keep getting closer to me. would not even let me take a picture of the cats adoption description. He also kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain I was going to leave I just needed to take a photo of the description first. But no he decided that he must pretend to have power he does not have. Instead of being calm and saying that I couldn't take the picture and must leave he just kept repeating the same statement over and over like that helps while aggressively stepping closer . DO NOT bring your kids here as they will not treat them kindly. now I know why so many cats can't get adopted. Because some social worker don't know how to respect others and be mature adults. read more

My pets are really not that smart, despite what this store claims. I usually give pet stores a three-star rating, because they do have things that we want (and that our furry babies want) but they're very expensive, compared to somewhere like Walmart sadly. However, I have to downgrade this one to a two-star because some of the employees really shouldn't be working in customer service. We had our dogs stay at the doggy daycare. In the photos they took of the dogs they looked sad and the photos were low quality and cut weird. When we got home I noticed my small dog has a gash on her paw that looked infected. And her white recently cleaned fur was now discolored after 3 days. My other dog who is part pitbull was territorial of her food again which was so odd as we worked on that and she had gotten way better but now i have to restart with her. Both dogs were extremely thirsty and had to use the restroom as soon as we got home. The guy at the counter was also not the friendliest. Please dont let your dogs or cats stay here. read more

we brought our dog for grooming and it was terrible- he came home with a huge rash cuz supposedly their cold water wasn't working so the soap stayed on him to long - they could have gotten some bottled water if they knew that was a problem. this is one of the worst groomer my dog is unfortunate to have for his grooming. his nails were barely clipped and worst of all, i do not think the groomer brushed his fur under his neck. there were chunk of his hair sticking out when i pick him up. i used the furminator on a daily basis when he has daily walk. i can tell what parts of my daog were not brushed because it will have chunk of hair sticking out. is very unfortunate all the groomers i like have left the sugar land store. management needs to do a better job keeping their employee. read more

It's good, but they have their flaws like any major "retail". I can often find better deals online or elsewhere, but I like instant gratification and still shop here for my mini zoo. The exotics section could use more upkeep with the live feeders inventory. Part of it is a supplier issue, but I found a couple of "expired"/moldy insect feeder containers. It is hard to find other items too sometimes, like specific dog, cat supplies. The fish and exotic pets always look super happy tho, so generally no other issues beyond inventory, and I haven't had or witnessed any issues with management or employees. How much is that doggie in the window? Well, at Petsmart they don't have dogs for sale, but you can certainly adopt cats and dogs from the local rescue organization (CAP) that sets up in Petsmart each week. So, I head to this Petsmart because it's convenient, but that's not the only reason. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is always kept clean (even though you know there are little doggie accidents every day). Dogs are welcome into this store (on a leash) and everyone who brings a dog to this store appears to follow the leash rule and knows their dog's limits. There is a huge selection of food, bedding, cages, bowls, toys, etc... This Petsmart also carries fish, gerbils, hamsters, birds, rats, mice, and lizards. They also carry supplies and accessories for these animals. There is a grooming and vet area, as well as a kennel and obedience training room (where classes are held regularly). I like that you can watch dogs get groomed (I feel like it keeps the dogs from getting mishandled, as I fear they might by any groomer). There is a machine by the cashiers that allows you to type in information for a dog or cat's personalized tag. Then it etches it and spits it out. It's quick and there are a variety of tags to choose from, from tiny to large sizes and numerous colors and shapes as well. We get one of our dog's food here (the others need special food from the vet) and bedding for our sugar gliders. We love the cute toys they have for dogs here and are always compelled to get at least one on each trip. read more

I come here fairly frequently to buy pet food and have never had what I would characterize as "good" service. Sadly, the associates are usually fairly unhelpful. It takes a long time to track someone down to help you, and when you finally do, they're still not 100% focused on you. The PetPerks are pretty good and worth signing up for; otherwise, your purchase will be a lot more expensive. I have never used their salon or hotel services, so I cannot speak to whether or not they're worth trying out. Bottom line- you come here because you have to! read more

Watch out YELPERS! This place has gone down hill. More specifically their salon is a rip off. And they could care less about their customers. I have been bringing my Yorkie there for almost a year. Demetrice had been doing a good job. Today however, I brought my daughters boxer for a bath, n ail trim, brushing etc. worse job ever!!! And to top it off they charged me $63 for a 5 minute bath and ten minute brush and didn't even clip his nails. When I brought it to their attention their response was oh well sorry that's what it is. WOW! I don't know about you YELPERS out there, but I have found that customer service has gone down hill since COVID and the price gouging is insane. I asked to speak to a manager only to find out that the groomer who had been grooming my Yorkie is the manager and was like sorry oh well. Smh ‍ So disappointing. And when I said I wouldn't be back at all with either dog. I received a "We understand have a nice day." I told them they did not understand at all or they wouldn't rip people off like this and they would've addressed my concerns. Whenever I have brought my boxer there previously to get a furminator bath it's always taken an hour to properly bath him, cut his nails, and brush him out because they are supposed to do a deep brushing with the special furminator brush. Did that happen? Nope I questioned it several times and was just told he's a short haired dog so it didn't take as long. Hmmm wonder why it took that long the previous times. Now to top it all off I get my Yorkie home and realize she wasn't done correctly either. Just great!! A pure waste of money. Needless to say. Petsmart has lost two more customers and as many people as I can tell how horrible this store and salon is. read more

When the fur kids and shell kid need food, etc. I come here. This place is clean and when you walk in it smells like the doggie perfume some use after grooming. That's better than other things this place could smell like. You'll often see people shopping with their dogs. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I love animals and I spoil my pets with good quality food, etc. so needless to say I'm picky about what I buy them. They sell some healthful and top notch stuff here for pets and that gets a plus from me. Also, I can find the supplies I need to help care for my pets and make it easier on them and me. This review is for their...lack of service. I booked an appointment with the grooming salon online to take my cat in for a bath. This would have been my first time at this location (I'd previously used the one a couple blocks north of 69 within the 610 loop). About 1.5 hours before my appointment time, I got an email that my appointment had been cancelled. No phone call, no explanation...essentially no accountability. I was just lucky enough to have checked my email when I did - otherwise, I would've dragged my poor cat out for no reason, and she's not a fan of car rides. What a terrible business/staff. read more

This is now the only place where we bring our Bella. Very good customer service, from the you are already familiar with. We usually go with Gaby or Roshauna(sorry if I mispelled it). We've tried about two other groomers, one which was a really bad experience simply because she was very rude and didn't feel she treated Bella the best she could have. This is for the grooming department: dropped off my pet at 1:30 pm for haircut and was not done until almost 6 pm! They charged an additional services without asking me if I wanted those grooming services. They have a record in their system of what previous services were rendered and when I say keep the same then don't add extra services that wasn't asked for. This is a scam! PetsMart used to be good, clean, and organize! This place seems like they don't care anymore. This location needs a visit from PetsMart administration. Took our dog here for regular grooming (haircut, bath, nails and ears). After 4 hrs we pick her up and we check her ears to make sure it's clean. The groomer immediately starts telling us that that's the best she can do and our dog doesn't like it and we should take her to a vet if we want cleaner ears. We didn't even say anything about her ears, we just wanted to check. As we were walking to our car, we noticed that she has dry skin flakes all over and wondered if she was bathed. We have a schnauzer and we know she has dry skin. However, usually after a bath most of the flakes come off and she looks clean. We took her back inside and 2 groomers started telling us "oh that's her normal skin and we can't fix that. You should use medicated shampoo and take her to a vet." We explained that when we bathe her the flakes come off but again they insist that they bathed her and she just have bad skin. So we left We take her home and give her a bath, OMG just running water on her made us mad. The water was dark and brown! She was still dirty!!! She went from Petsmart to the car straight to the tub and she was that dirty???? The manager just have us free bath when we complained. Never coming back! read more

This has been my last resort for my dogs grooming needs for the past year. They always promise a pick up time and are usually behind. I get it, things happen, time gets away... There's a bunch of dogs who need grooming. But when it's habitual, I have an issue with that. Most GOOD dog owners are already paranoid about dropping their pets off somewhere, so when this happens you tend to lose some trust. And yes, I know. It's MY fault for coming here for her needs in the first place. (As its like going to SUPERCUTS for your haircut. You get what you pay for, amirite?) Really, I only use this place because it's convenient. So I should have known better. My dogs appt was at 10:30am they promised she'll be ready for pick up at 2:30. Upon picking her up, no one even knew where she was or if she was checked in. Hilarious. This place is a joke. Don't come here for grooming needs. Especially if you care about your pet. Please. Turn and run. Away. Your chances of getting a good cut on a timely manner are higher if you were to drop your pet off at someone's kindergarten art class. Ordinarily we are beyond pleased with the spa services we receive for our dog. The last time was far from ordinary. What we noticed, after we left, that our dog's teeth weren't thoroughly brushed, if they were brushed at all. Our dog's ears weren't cleaned. Also, our dog's nails weren't cut/grinded down as short as they usually are and are supposed to be. Well, some paws looked done and some didn't. We were so disappointed. As far as the daycamp goes inside of this Petsmart I think it is outstanding. The entire staff is very friendly and treats every dog as though it were their own. Each time we pull up Bella knows exactly where she is and where she is going and she is super excited to see not only the staff but other dogs that she has become friends with. I always have to tell them I want it emailed, and it never fails, they always have to cancel the transaction and start over because they automatically choose to print the receipt before I even have a chance to say it. I take my mini dachshund here for doggy day camp on occasion. I do it so he can burn off some energy, cure his boredom and get some social time. I've noticed a definite change in his demeanor since he's been going here ( probably been about a dozen times now). He's quicker to approach other dogs and just more social. I like that result. I wish they separated big dogs from small dogs because some of the big dogs scare me. They separate them based on temperament, but most of the time I think they only have one room for the dogs. At first I was really scared about leaving my little boy in their care, but it's worked out and Taz keeps going back. There are usually other small dogs there with him, which makes me feel better. read more

For the Pets Hotel Doggy Day Camp Still love them! The lady was very attentive when she checked us in. She said she didn't recognize us and I said it had been awhile since I brought him in. This lady knows her pups that go in and out of that place. That was very comforting. Samuel had a full visit this day. I got him an ice cream treat, an exit bath and nail trim. He was happy, exhausted, clean dog when I picked him up. I need to take him more often and I'll be more than happy to with the great service from the staff. read more

Wide variety of food, bedding, bowls, toys, etc. I always end up here whenever it's time to stock up on food and treats for my furry friend. On the downside, however, their shelves seem to be running low on the brand of treats I prefer- I always manage to somehow grab the last bag. They also have a bunch of cute little toys, often on sale, which I feel compelled to buy on each visit. The employees are very friendly, especially one man whose name I WISH I could remember. He always remembers me and my dog, immediately offers to answer questions, and has the best advice. I usually find myself searching for him when I have doggy queries, since I'm new to the world of pets. Their grooming, however, I'm not too fond of. I have brought my dog in a few times for bathing, teeth cleaning, nails, etc... But they seem to give priority to quantity over quality. I will continue to bring her here until Yelp helps me find a better alternative. :-) Feel free to bring your dog here when you come shopping- on a leash, of course! They also carry items for other animals besides dogs, which I've yet to check out- hamsters, cats, fish, etc... I took my 16-week old german shepherd for a puppy bath. I just needed a bath, nails trimmed and ears cleaned on short notice. They had openings, so I decided to try it out. About an hour after I dropped her off I received a call from Destinee saying that Sasha was very stressed so they weren't going to be able to dry her. They had to bathe her twice because she was so stressed she pooped in the kennel after bath, but she was able to take care of the nails and ears. Destinee said to leave her for an hour so she could dry more, but I didn't see the sense in leaving my "stressed" puppy longer than necessary. I arrived to pick her up 5 minutes later and Destinee and another groomer proceeded to tell me what a hard time they had with her. It was her first time, so I didn't doubt she put up a fuss. When we got home I was trying to play with her and relax her. I noticed blood on her back paw. I called Petsmart and Destinee told me that when she was grinding her nails she got it too short and she bled a little bit. I said there's more blood than a "little bit". The excuse I was given next was that when she was in the kennel she was really fighting and scratching so that made her bleed again. This happened to her back foot, so that doesn't make much sense to me either- she would be clawing with her front paws. I am so mad A) That this happened B) That this was NOT MENTIONED AT ALL when I picked her up. All I heard about was how bad she was during the bath and how stressed she is. She's in pain. You just hurt her- do you think she's going to enjoy bath time? Do you think she trusts you? NO! I am so sick to my stomach that I let this happen to my baby. This was her first experience with grooming and now she is completely traumatized. I urge you to NEVER take your fur baby here. They were completely negligent in their care and this incident should have been reported to me immediately. Instead they tried to sweep it under the rug. Remember- there were 2 people there that failed to mention any injury to me. Their lack of concern for their clients well being is appalling. read more
