I have been coming to this PetSmart for awhile now and I haven't really found a specific groomer that I wanted to stay with until yesterday. I brought my chi-weenie in for her normal grooming cause she was getting long nails and stinky breath (she refuses to let me near them) and I got to meet Miguel. Drop off went well, and they told me about 2-3 hours. They gave me a call about 3 hours later to pick her up. Pickup went smooth and and she smelled like a pumpkin pie! They told me she did really good and just let them do what they had to and her nails were trimmed down nicely (I was worried because her quik grew out). Grooming is just not good. I do not know why it is so difficult for them. We have brought our dog in multiple times to get groomed and nearly every-time they forget or just neglect an area. This time we put in the notes "focus on paws and sanitary" since that's what they always seem to neglect. I even told them face to face when we went in to focus on those areas. When we picked him up his paws were awful. They said he peed while they were blow drying him so they had to stop. Why would you wash, blow dry, and then come back to trim the paws? That was clearly a lie since we were the ones to bring it up in the first place. He did not get a sanitary trim either and I'm guessing they didn't do the anal gland expression since he left streaks on our couch a day later. When we brought him back so they could finish, the lady behind the counter was pretty rude to the other employee. "Well are they going to pay for it??" The other employee seemed to be taking the blame when she wasn't even the one who trimmed and bathed him the 1st time. I can tell you the reason he peed is because he was caged up for 3 hrs. Yes, he is anxious going in there but the blow dryer didn't scare him. He puts his face right into a leaf blower at home. Then when we brought him back we had to wait 45 min. We have had horrible grooming experiences here. Pay lots of money for minimal effort. Employees seem to be doing the bare minimum and no one is held accountable. Go to Chews 4 Paws down the street and they will take care of your dog 10x better than Petsmart. Plus they don't have attitude. read more

Buyer Beware! Epistylis in Tanks. On 3/4/2026, I purchased 5 neon tetras and added them to my stocked, fully established aquarium (0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 20 nitrates planted). Unfortunately, these fish carried the dreaded Epistylis parasite, which caused the death of 11 neon tetras and 4 cherry barbs despite extensive treatment. The first being on Bell road and 7th Ave. I have purchased Purina, Purina one (large breed), Purina one (standard), and Iams (large breed), and Iams (standard). EVERY BAG HAS HAD MEAL WORMS IN IT. I can't return the food as I empty the bags into an air tight container and toss the bag. I've cleaned the dog food containers, I've replaced the containers, I've swapped brands. At this point I believe all the local Petsmart in the area have this issue. It is probably a problem at the processing facility or the warehouse. I'm done shopping here. We used to take our dog her first boarding at their pet hotel. I want to start off by saying that the employees are nice, and they would send me photos of our dog while we were gone. It was comforting. In July 2024, we left our dog there for a long weekend. We always dropped her off there even for overnight trips and we've never had a problem. We always pay for nail grinding, and for her to be bathed and brushed before we picked her up. A week later my child found a little black dot on our dog's head. And then another. And another. Upon inspection our dog was *infested* with dog lice. Really infested. We called the vet right away. Dog lice is species-specific, so our cats weren't in danger. They told us what we needed to do and we spent *hours* bathing her in special shampoo and brushing her (like in human hair). We had her professionally bathed and inspected and that was that. After we took her to the vet again, she told us that the *only* way for a dog to get dog ice is from another dog. The thing is the only time our dog is with another dog is at PetSmart. She hates dog parks and we only walk her at night so we don't see other dogs. There was no other contact with any dogs. Our vet also said that for an infestation that bad, it had to have been going on for a while; they're apparently very hard to see until it gets bad unless you look for them. Our dog has short hair so we don't brush her much, and we typically leave baths up to PetSmart, since that's the only place we take her to get groomed. We called PetSmart to tell them what happened and what the vet told us. They denied it, of course, and said they always inspect dogs when they're brought in. But if, according to our vet, she must had had it for a while, this means that PetSmart did not check her very thoroughly, if at all, AND she wasn't actually bathed or groomed, since it would have clearly come up had they. So while I don't have any 100% proof, I think there's enough evidence to conclude that not only did she likely get lice infestation from PetSmart, they collect from grooming during pet hotel stays and either do a very superficial job, or don't do the job at all. We will never take our dog here for any reason, and I'll never shop there again. Our new boarding place is Camp Bow Wow, which charges just a little more a day for all day open play with camera surveillance so you can check in all the time. And no lice! read more

I have a border collie mix who needs grooming on a periodic basis. We have had great service but the last two times I have been extremely disappointed. The services we have paid for have been below expectations with his nails not being attended to and his furmination was not completed. We originally had an appointment on Thursday but on arrival we were told that one of the associates had left and supposedly they had called number on file and left message. We didn't receive the message and I verified that they had the correct number. I had to reschedule for Friday and leave work to take him in. My Girlfriend and I have been here three times to buy fish and all three times we walked out because of how disrespectful the girl who works in the fish department is. She's very rude and try's to talk down on you regarding fish knowledge. She asked what size tank we had and I said a 20 gallon and she scoffed at that and said condescendingly "maybe that's big enough for 1 Beta fish". How absurd, only big enough for 1 beta in a 20 gallon? She completely ruined our time at PetSmart. We were so excited to get fish for our new tank but we ended up leaving with nothing due to her attitude. THE WORST PART.... During today's visit we noticed what had to be 20-30 dead fish throughout the fish section and when I brought it to her attention she shrugged it off like it was a daily occurrence. Everytime I go into the store there are 12 people in the store and 10 of them are waiting in line to check out. Half of the problem is in fact the customers. But the other half is the employee. I was recommended this place for everyday dog adoption by a close family friend. We had a good experience and took our puppy "Sumo" home with us. When we brought him to the car we noticed a weird lump under his fur. Upon further inspection by a veterinarian, we discovered it was a tick. They always do an amazing job when I bring in my 110 pound Great Pyrenees! The doggie daycare is also great, we have used them multiple times and they always do an amazing job. So I walked in September 20, 2021With a bag that I was looking to return I also need to do an exchange so when I walked in I politely told the clerk that I am putting my items at the register so there won't be any confusion. Anyways finally the manager comes down I explain the situation nothing is done I'm telling them that I need to do an exchange their idea of rectifying the situation is telling me to leave and not to worry about the items that I have they let me leave with it free which is nice but still there was nothing done there is no other steps that was done to make sure that this doesn't happen again. Absolutely horrible experience at this PetSmart every time I come here. CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES ON THE PRODUCTS YOU BUY, PEOPLE!!! Because the staff sure as shit doesn't care and doesn't check!! Every time I go, I am pulling 10-15+ products off the shelves that are MONTHS past their expiration date. I visited today (March 4, 2024 at around 4:30PM) and the oldest product I pulled off the shelf had expired in July of 2023!!!! 8 MONTHS AGO!! The staff does NOT CHECK, NOR DO THEY CARE. I bring it up at the register every single time I come in when I drop off the expired products. I decided to finally write a review today when I brought it up to the lady working at the register. In the middle of me saying "you guys should really make checking expiration dates a priority, it's severely dangerous for the animals" she interrupted me rudely and just said "phone number?" I should've asked to speak to her manager because that's just ridiculous. Have some compassion. Don't you have to love pets to work at PetSmart? The carelessness was downright cruel. Hello I went to see Dia the very first day walking up to the counter. We got very shrug faces almost unwanted faces from your employees or your volunteers. We got to see Gia the meeting went great. We told them we will be back tomorrow to grab Gia and to do a meet and greet with our dog Kobe, Kobe showed no signs of aggression. The lady that was holding Gia did not even want Gia to meet Kobe. She kept a leash really tight she did not allow them to like interact, the place that we were supposed to do the meet and greet was very unprofessional. It was in the back of a store where there's so much noise and so much going on that Gia's attention was somewhere else. They came across as if they did not want us there. They did not want us to adopt a dog. They were your staff when I say they were very unfriendly and rude. I felt discriminated against. I felt like they didn't want their dogs to go to a black family I felt Hurt that they would rather leave Gia in a jail skinny, starving and hungry then to send her home with a good family. We have a big backyard. We have a doggie door. Gia would've gotten the best love and attention that she could've wanted and yet your staff was so racist that they wanted to leave her there . You guys had me bring my dog which has never left the house to go meet another dog in a very uncomfortable situation all the way around the experience was horrible your staff, rude and disrespectful. I use their kitty kottage service whenever I have to go out of town. The staff is very friendly and loves both of my cats. I'm confident they are well taken care of. Unfortunately, like most big box stores, their fish tanks aren't well cared for. I find at least 4 dead fishes every visit and the conditions aren't great. We took our puppy Wicket in to get his first groom yesterday. Mickinley was absolutely fantastic! He had never had a grooming before and she was super sweet. She explained everything to us-- which was awesome for us as new pup-parents!
