I drop both of my dogs and daycare every two weeks and I board them when I travel. They always walk right into the back and are excited to see the staff. Two major issues, I'll be short: 1) we arrived town early on a Sunday, went to get our dog at 6 pm. Doors were closed, closing time is 6:30. We had to fight with the girl upfront, we weren't going to pay extra day because they closed early! 2) Our dog came back with kennel cough. We just spent $335 at the vet yesterday. We previously had a bad experience with Danmar (over a year ago). We moved within the area and decided to give them another chance, that was a mistake. I do not recommend this place. read more

Returning customer Dropped my dog of last minute due to a family emergency got right in which was amazing had to extend my dogs visit due to a emergency also grate but when I went to pick my dog up they told me he was a little sluggish, and had diarrhea for a couple days never got one phone call about this they also said he was eating all his food witch was a lie I had to take my dog to the vet cause he was acting so off he will not eat are move my vet told me they should of called me ASAP when he got sick so when I called back they tried to tell me he wasn't really having diarrhea only one time there witch was a lie cause when I picked him up they said he had it for a couple days and came home with it when I told them my dog (Shih Tzu) lost 2 pounds in a weak then they decided to tell me he rly wasn't eating just pushing it around but when I picked him up they said he ate everything very disgusting customer will not be returning read more

Guys, this place is great. Not only did it fit in our tight budget, but it exceeded our expectations. We got our dog when living overseas, so the vaccination info was confusing and in French. Danmar Pet Resort was kind and patient about this, even though it was complicated and took time to figure out. When I dropped off my dog, I was really nervous and they picked up on that. I was given a tour and reassured that everything was going to be great. My dog is really clingy and insecure, so I was worried she wasn't going to do well away from me for a whole weekend. When I picked my dog up, she was just fine! No yelping or barking or looking terrified or clinging onto me-- my dog was calm and just happy to see me! She had obviously had a good time. I was also given a rundown of how the weekend had been. I amazing at the ability to remember details and the dog's personalities. They treat every dog with special care. At play time, they make sure to take dogs like mine out a few minutes before the crowd so that they don't get scared by all the excited dogs around them. I was very happy with this experience and would definitely be back. I think I'll take her in for the half-day playtime service so she can get some socialization and a change of scenery. read more

we were so nervous about leaving our 2 babies in a Pet Resort for the 1st time. Both are rescues and we spoil them. We were thrilled to see that they were happy upon our return! We called b/f we boarded our cruise ship and the owner assured us that they were very happy and were having fun on the doggy play equipment. Next year, we will be happy to have the pups return for vacation. The owners were very kind to our pets and very understanding that both were rescues and needed extra attention. Worst boarding facility I have encountered. I have boarded my dogs in several facilities in three states and have never had issues. Five days here and both of my dogs had severe diarrhea when I picked them up. When I dropped the dogs off, the worker asked if my dogs could have diarrhea medication "if" the need should arise. Red flag. When I informed them (after picking up my dogs) that my dogs had gotten sick, the worker blamed it on "stress" from having too many dogs. Two days later, we're still dealing with diarrhea.. Finally, I sent along two weeks worth of food and was informed they "ran out" after four days so my dogs hadn't eaten for almost 24 hours by the time we picked them up. Terrible outfit. The videos were a great touch. Here is what happened.....I recently needed a day of daycare for my 2 fur babies one of which needed groomed and since Danmar does not have a groomer at this time I tried somewhere new. BIG mistake! As a dog lover, I have found no better place for doggie day care than Danmar Pet Resort. When I first started noticing signs they were opening (several years ago), they were very close to my work, so I thought I would try them out. The Staff is friendly, always know my dogs by name, and our pups are totally spent after I pick them up! I have tried other places, and nothing is more bothersome than watching webcams of our dogs sleepy at doggy day care all day. Our dogs are relatively young and need stimulation and exercise, so I am always glad (and so are Bruno & Chloe) when they get excited when they figure out where they are going for the day, and are happy and exhausted when I pick them up. Danmar does a fantastic job, and I am very happy whenever I take our fur babies there. read more

It is hard to find a trustworthy place to leave your dog while you are out of town. I am happy I found Danmar Pet Resort when they opened. The owners are friendly, and personable, and have a passion for dogs. We have an elderly dog, and feel comfortable knowing she is well taken care of. We have also used their grooming services, and have been extremely pleased with the way she cuts our dog too. Overall, the customer service and experience here are fantastic. Anyone leaving their beloved pet here has to be nuts or they aren't properly looking around during their "tour" I went into this place wanting to see what it was and if it might be a good fit for our pet so many red flags i this place. 1- when arriving someone else was picking up their 2 dogs (which by the way never looked happier to get out of that place) there was a younger girl up front that said her dad owned it I believe, she just didn't look like she knew anything that was going on and lost at all my questions .The other ONLY person in this facility was another older lady that brought out the 2 dogs she was talking with the 2 dogs owner for about 10 minutes (only later did I find out she was the only other person on site ) she had left ALL the dogs alone in the back of this place running free together not only could a dog fight easily happen but a dog could get injured and no one would be aware for however long it took the 1 out of 2 people to get back there . Please note there was a yellow janitor mop style bucket and dirty mop just sitting out there with the dogs in the back . PLEASE let me know who wants their dogs to drink those cleaning chemicals and dirty more then likely urine and fecal infected water? 2- When the 2 dogs left with their owner It was my turn I asked for a tour of the place this is when I was shocked more then anything . the older lady that came from the back told the younger girl to wait she needed to clean up the back !! not only did I wait for another 10 minutes while she made the place look presentable but the younger girl looked like a lost puppy and didn't know what to say for 10 minutes apologizing for the wait here and there . If all safety procedures and cleaning is u[p t par why cant someone just take a tour what the hell are they covering up and trying to hide. 3- going back there the small dog enclosure in the front was filthy!its the first thing when you walk in the 3-4 little dogs where jumping up trying to say hi (more like save me) and they were jumping in their own feces .it looked like it had been there all day smothered like a pancake into the floor .this is another reason the place is WAY under staffed for the amount of dogs they have on site.they cannot maintain it 4- the big shocker was the amount of large dogs running free in the back there was at least 30 at the time shepherds, rotties, poodles , labradoodles, big dogs . All well and good for play time but these were all the dogs that were left alone with no human on duty while the lady was chatting up the customer in front . When I asked the younger girl how many people are with the dogs when they are out there like that she said just one and i asked why she left them alone she said " oh its fine the dogs are left alone sometimes when we have to talk with customers they just play out there " yeah because everyone wants to pay for their dogs to babysit each other and keep each other safe like really lady?! I could only imagine what the lady was cleaning up while I waited to see the back area 5-they advertised this place to me as a place where my dog can play and be played with for a day like a fun doggy day they are way over priced and told me that if my dog didn't like the overwhelming number of dogs he would stay in his kennel room all day! might as well stay home and have free range at home all day instead of confine him to that ;/ like paying someone to stick him in a small caged room all day?? but of course they would take him out to use the bathroom a few times the lady had NO example of what playtime would entail for him ( hes a 6month old puppy) just he would stay in a caged kennel room thing all day if he was overwhelmed 6-it was way to hot for people and dogs back there and the smell was disgusting ! get more staff when you are overfilled with dogs to make sure the dogs are safe at all times as well as picked up after properly i recommend Second Home Pet Resort not only is their facility clean and properly air conditioned for this AZ heat . they are properly staffed !your pets health and safety is much more important then this place has to offer they actually have a real outdoor area for your dogs (not a half outdoor warehouse opening) and even a real pool for them to cool of in . the staff provides cuddle time for shy dogs, reading time to comfort scared dogs,and even rooms where they can send surveillance of your dog all day to your phone or tablet see these places should never have ANYTHING to hide . stay away please dont pay these people to lock your dog in an over crowded room full of un supervised dogs or in a kennel room all day long petsmart hotel is way better for extended stays then this place read more

The owners are very nice and they do not charge extra to let your dog out and play- In fact as long as the dog is doing good , they get to stay out and play except for meal times or times that all the dogs go in to get some naps in. My dogs run right in when I go to check them in - so that alone says a lot. The price is reasonable . read more
