I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Pet Paradise. I dropped my dog, Samson, off on Wednesday, February 25th, for a stay until Sunday, March 1st. After arriving at our destination, we received a missed call. When my husband called back, he was told that Samson had attacked another dog completely unprovoked, would no longer be allowed in group play, and would require one-on-one sessions at an additional $20 per day. When I called to get clarification, I spoke with Savannah Solomon, the regional manager, and her behavior was completely unacceptable. She was extremely rude, dismissive, and lacked any empathy whatsoever. Her tone made it feel as though my concerns about my dog's well-being were an inconvenience. As someone who works in customer service, I understand how to handle difficult conversations and this was handled terribly. What concerned me most was knowing that someone who spoke to me with such coldness and hostility was involved in overseeing my dog's care while I was out of state. It made me genuinely anxious about leaving Samson there. Instead of reassuring me, she made the situation worse. I spent the first half of my vacation extremely worried that my dog would be judged, neglected, or treated differently because of how she characterized him. Savannah claimed Samson was "nippy" and stated he would never be allowed back into group play with no discussion of reevaluation, training options, or probationary return. However, when my husband reviewed the footage with another representative, it showed the other dog was nipping and harassing multiple dogs in camp. Samson appeared to have had enough and jumped toward the dog, but he did not pin the dog down as we were initially told, and he showed no aggression toward staff when separated. He was not acting aggressively. I understand that dogs will be dogs, and normal play can escalate. If Samson had been placed in a temporary timeout, that would have been reasonable. But a permanent ban from camp play along with additional daily fees felt excessive and unfair. Thankfully, when I called back the following day, Olivia was kind, professional, and reassuring. She made me feel much more comfortable about Samson's care. Unfortunately, the way Savannah handled the situation left a lasting negative impression. The employees really care about every pet. They clean and totally disinfect the play yard and every dog's kennel throughout the day. They know every pet's name and give every dog/cat fresh water 1st thing in the morning and at closing time. There is an apartment inside the building where an employee lives full time so there is someone there 24 hours a day. The kennels are sprayed down every morning with professional cleaning supplies and rinsed and then they squeegee any excess water out. The employees go through lots of classes to learn how to properly clean and care for the animals. They are constantly getting playtime from 6am - 7pm. I think it's great. Definitely recommend this place. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I certainly would. My partner and I used to use Pet Paradise RELIGIOUSLY for our grooming. One day, our groomer was no longer available. It turns out, a dog had a medical emergency on the grooming table and our groomer was fired for leaving to take the pet to the Emergency Room. Not only is this level of customer service shocking, it is negligent and deserves much more than just a bad review. Please, if you love your pets, trust someone else to care for them. Saving $10-20 per cut is not worth the life of your little pal. Shame on this organization and its leadership, I hope you have the life you deserve. read more

Every person working at Pet Paradise are the most dedicated and nice pet people ever?

Recently, we decided to try out pet paradise for boarding our two German Shepherds. We had been taking them to Camp Bow Wow downtown (which we are very happy with) but it's so far from our house and pet paradise is right down the road. Unfortunately, it will have been our dogs first & last visit to this facility. Here's why. Everything looked great at the facility, lobby looked clean, living spaces for the dogs looked nice, the aesthetic was pleasant etc, but it was the experience we had upon pickup that left me frustrated. Upon arrival back in Phoenix I received a text stating that the dogs both smelled like urine because they had been going to the bathroom in their cages. This struck me as odd as they are crate trained at our house at night, no accidents. They've also been boarded at Camp Bow Wow 3 times in the past 6 months, no accidents. When I probed a little more and asked what their bathroom schedule looked like they told me that often times the dogs will be let out for the last time to go to the bathroom at 5:00 pm and not let out again until between 7-8 am the next morning... that's 14-15 hours without a bathroom break, 10000 percent unacceptable in my opinion. Instead of immediately getting upset, I decided to call camp bow wow and a couple other boarding facilities to see if this was industry standard. Both camp bow wow and the other 2 facilities I called let me know that their bathroom schedule was last out around 7-8 pm at night and out again at 6-:6:30 am the following morning.. a much more realistic timeframe. I consider myself a highly reasonable person, so I asked to speak with leadership to see if this indeed was a true statement. Leadership not only confirmed it was a true statement, but told me that actually the dogs last time out was even before 5 pm at times. when I expressed concern with this pet paradise seemed to act like there was absolutely nothing abnormal about making a dog wait 15 hours in between using the restroom. This is borderline inhumane to me as a dog owner, so I'll happily be making the extra drive to camp bow wow from now on to make sure my dogs are properly cared for. read more

The local staff is great. my older dog has been going there for over 11 years. the corporate greed is the downside. 2/3 of the year is some upcharge on top of already highly increased rates over the last few years. there is an up charge for every day of a weekend, summer increased rates start 5/23 - 9/1 and 41 days of a $10 per day up charge. And that is per dog per day!! i have 2 dogs and they share a kennel. Its ridiculous how much it costs anymore and they took away every "extra" and charge for it now! so much for loyal customers. read more

My family took a trip to California for four days. Pet. Paradise did an excellent job in keeping me updated on the safety of my one year-old Frenchie. They even give an extra touch by giving you a report card on your dogs stay. It was really reassuring to have that. The staff is super friendly and easy to work with. They did not return my puppy's Kong collar. When I showed them picture of her wearing it before we took her there they show me crappy video they have walking her to room, but say no camera in room where they took off her collar and harness...video is far from high definition and they say you can check in on your pet at any time 24/7...yea right. All I have to say in closing, Pet paradise , you owe me $50 collar and apology. If that's the way you treat me I can't imagine how you treat animals there... This is the worst experience that we've had with our dogs. It is the second time that we board our dogs here, the first time they returned our dogs with the paws covered in urine, my goldendoodle had a paw infection and my small dog even had parts of his body covered in urine. Before giving them another chance we called them before and they apologize and told us that that was not going to happen again. We even booked two baths so they were clean and cute for us to pick them up. Attached are the pictures of what we received. After $830 both dogs got a path infection and didn't get a bath and they charged us for that. We asked to ask with a supervisor and she said "I am the supervisor, whats up?. And refunded the bats (that they didn't get). Beside that, if you have a friendly kind of shy dog I will avoid this place. I had to call because there was a german shepherd bullying my dog and no one pays any attention to the dogs, the two girls were talking on the same spot not interacting with the dogs, they just needed a coffee table and some cookies. We did it just because of how close it is to us but there are so many other good places around that this one is definitely not worth it. There is Boulder Falls Pet Resort that is amazing and plenty of facebook groups around north Phoenix that offer the service. The service was very bad. I was waiting at the reception and they looked at us but no one attended to us. After they attended to me, a person came out to greet us for my dog's grooming and then found 2 knots on her and said that they were going to charge us 20 dollars for every 15 minutes that they take with the knots. I asked how much that would be and they answered that they didn't know. In other words, if they take 1 hour with two knots I would have to pay 80 dollars plus the grooming. This is the first and last time I go there. Only think about money. read more

I am so thankful for Pet Paradise being so close to my home! Pet paradise provides day camps and overnight boarding. There are times when we know we won't be able to make it home to let our dog out and this is great because I can drop my dog off before work, and then just pick her up before 7pm when they close and be able to get things done that day! Or we have gone on vacations and left her at Pet paradise and I was so thankful that they had the option where they could send me a picture and an update on how she was doing via email! Prices are very competitive with all other boarding places but this place is definitely larger and has better play areas! You Can even watch your dog play on the doggy web cam! We appreciate pet paradise and that we have an option to help us with our dog! She loves going to pet paradise and gets so excited every time we get there! Still the only place we take our dog! She loves it here; being able to party with dog friends while we are away!? We had used Pet Paradise in the past but the last time we left our dog there for a couple of nights was not great. She came home smelling like pee (I don't know if she walked in it or what) and with a big bump on her lip. We paid extra for emailed updates where they confused her with another dog. We also paid extra for one-on-one play time and they tried to charge us for a morning when we dropped her off in the afternoon. I'm guessing they had too many dogs for the attendants, struggled to keep the place clean, and given that they couldn't keep the dogs straight or the time we dropped our s off, we're not even really sure whether our dog even got the play time we paid for. It would've also been nice to know what happened to her lip--we actually took her to the vet because we were worried it may have been a cancerous growth or something. This review is from my mom: On June 24, 2021, I tripped over an empty paint bucket coming into a dark house from the garage which was also dark. This situation caused me to fall on my right hip breaking the very top of my hip. Surgery for a new hip replacement was necessary. I was kept in the hospital after surgery overnight. The next day I was transported to a recovery center for care and therapy. I had no idea how long I would be there. I was dischaged on September 19th. I was in a panic, "who will take care of my babies?" It happens that I have a contact that works at PET PARADISE located at 1675 W Happy Valley in Phoenix, AZ. She suggested they could board there, and would have the best care ever. I was reluctant because I was not sure how they would react around other dogs because they had very little contact with others. Besides, I thought they would be so sad missing me as I missed them. Well, that was not the case. I could sign in on my cell phone and watch them in certain areas. I could not believe how they interacted with the other dogs. They were playing and wrestling with the others. It was necessary for them to stay there from June 24 to Sept 19 when I was discharged from the care center. Because I could not visit them, I was totally amazed at the great care and attention from employees that cared for my babies. I do not know names of employees because I never had the opportunity to meet them, but I can say they are all GREAT CARING EMPLOYEES THAT LOVE THEIR JOB AND THE ANIMALS LEFT IN THEIR CARE FOR WHATEVER REASON. They had him do a trial before boarding to make sure he would do okay, and they made a super cute evaluation (complete with a hand drawn photo lol). We were worried about leaving him because he's so shy and wary of new environments but they took great care of him, and he seemed happy and comfortable during his stay. They gave him a report card prior to pick up, and we were able to add a bath and nail trim on his last day of boarding. He's exhausted today because he had so much fun! Came in for the trial day because the pictures online looked nice and wanted to try a new dog boarding place in case we went out of town and couldn't find anyone to watch her. Was sort of given a tour but weren't allowed in to see where she was staying which seemed a little suspicious. The individual pen areas looked like little cinderblock jail cells which they spend most of the day in alone with no toys or stimuli unless you bring their toys which would have been nice to know ahead of time. The turf area looks nothing like the online pictures, it's very small, dingy, and dirty. There was no other information given to us about cameras or how we could get in touch if we needed to or even just letting us know she'll have access to fresh water all day or where she'll be able to go to the bathroom. Got no updates throughout the day while she was there and when we picked her up they said she got into something but didn't know what (so fingers crossed it's not something toxic or dangerous that we'll need to take her to the vet for). She also had what looked like dog slobber on her back and some weird white marks around her nose which almost look like someone muzzled her. Our report card was half filled out and didn't include any information about how she interacted with the other dogs, which was our biggest concern, especially considering the dog slobber on her back (was it from another dog attacking her or playing with her? we have no idea). Also, we used a prong collar when we walked her in and usually you're supposed to take those off when you're not walking the dog but it seems like they left it on the whole time, which is pretty unsafe for the dog especially in group play situations. Dropped my sweet child off to go on a vacation. A week into his stay we got a call that his FOOT WAS CUT OPEN and it was BLEEDING. Where could he have been that there was something sharp enough to cut open his foot?! They said it was IN HIS ROOM! There was something sharp enough to cut his paw in his room!! Plus, they wouldn't let us back to the room to see where it could have happened because "it's a liability" yeah it's a liability to leave your dog there!! I paid just so I could get my dog back but I will be calling and complaining because this is BS. The person trying to "help" us started crying when we started pressing for answers on how our baby could have gotten injured. We are livid and expect better answers then asking US what happened. We boarded our dog Benny for 2 weeks while we traveled Europe. Pet Paradise came highly recommended by family and for good reason. They're phenomenal. I brought my dog to Pet Paradise today for Day Camp. It appeared very clean and one employee in particular was very helpful. It looks like it would be an ok place to board. This facility is not a good fit for our dog and we will not use them in the future. We just moved from the Midwest to Arizona. At our last doggie daycare, the dogs were out and played all day. I was very surprised this morning to learn that my dog would only be receiving three hours of play and be kenneled for the remainder of the day. When looking at the play areas, there's just simply not enough space for the dogs to even run around. After my dog had been there for 4 hours, she had only been let out once for play. I know because I was watching on the WebCam the entire time. I immediately left work and went and picked up my dog after I saw (on the webcam) another dog left unattended in a room for over 10 minutes. read more

Hercules loves going to Pet Paradise. They are really good with him. I like being able to see him on video during playtime. They are good about enticing him to eat the first day when he's anxious from being away from home. They answer all my questions and concerns when I call and check on him during his stay. This was our first time bringing all four of our dogs. The day I was picking them up I got a phone call that one of them needed to be taken to the vet. When I got to the vet there was a really bad gouge in her leg. It required four staples. Even though I signed a consent saying I was responsible for anything that happened, they offered to pay the $300 surgery. However, no one could tell me how this happened. No one could or would take responsibility for this. When I picked up my other three dogs, I noticed my Roxy had a puncture wound in her neck that had dried blood on it. Once I got home I noticed that Darwin had one of his dewclaws missing and the wick was exposed somehow. They need to be better about their exit exams and take responsibility for what happens under their roof. All I wanted to know was what happened to my dogs. Pictures are sad. read more

Pet Paradise no doubt provides the BEST dog boarding services in the valley. I have a 5 year old Great Pyrenees named Leo who, unfortunately, has a lot of anxiety with any new dog or person due to abuse and neglect from his previous owner as a puppy. Prior to being boarded, it made taking him anywhere outside the house an absolute nightmare. Anyways, my family and I needed boarding for two weeks since no one we knew could watch him, so that is when we found Pet Paradise. They initially set up a trial day where we could bring Leo in for a day and see how he fits in with the program and of course, the other dogs. During this trial day, they approached him gently and tweaked the program to his individual needs and personality, making it so they can accommodate even a very nervous boy like him. They didn't introduce him to any dogs, they just let him be so he could get comfortable in that space, which I absolutely appreciate. After the trial, he was ready for the big day (or should I say, big stay!) During the first few days of his stay, he was not eating at all probably due to the stress of this new place. Pet Paradise kept in great communication with us during this time, and tried a variety of methods fo get him to eat, until he finally did start eating after just a few days. Eventually he was introduced to the play group, which his was a calmer, more mellow group. During this time, you have the option of viewing your precious friend through a sort of CCTV app. They would always call us to let us know he was out so we could catch him in time to view him interacting with the trainer and other dogs. Although he wasn't too keen on playing with the other dogs, you could tell they absolutely made an effort to get him socialized to even be around them, which is definitely a big step for Leo! Additionally, they routinely kept up on his hygiene, such as giving him periodic baths, brushing his teeth, and even clipping his nails- a task that I am so grateful for, since it is not easy to do on a big boy like him. And you know what, for a two week stay, their prices are incredible especially for the fact that they go above and beyond to accommodate your precious baby. They even gave us a free welcome home bath and gave him a fun tye-dye bandana for that extra charm before we came and picked him up! The staff is just incredible as well. From the wonderful receptionists who would answer our many, MANY calls asking about how he is, to the trainer who would give him that much needed one-on-one time. I really can't stress the fact that they just give you and your pet that star experience. Overall, if you have an anxious dog, or just any dog really, I recommend taking them to Pet Paradise. The level in which they provide for your pet is unlike any other, and because of that I am 100% going to be returning for all of my pet boarding needs :) read more

They were very informative and helpful with getting us what we needed to know- one even called the vet for me before, during our second -okay let's schedule- visit, we left to make sure one had their shots. We added grooming on our husky and the groomer called day of to clarify what I wanted and explained step by step what he was going to do and if she got scared of loud noises how he would approach that. I wish I could rate this place worse than this. I came and brought the GSD I am watching for my brother to this place to get a bath and de-shed. After an hour and a half I called to check up on him, they said he was doing great and it would only be 30 more minutes. 45 minutes passed and I called again, Savannah a "manager" answered the phone and said "As I said earlier it would only be 30 more minutes and I'm sure he's ready." I came and picked him up and while driving I noticed a quarter sized lump on his nose and blood. I called and she informed me that she was the manager and had no contact with my dog so she had no idea, but he was barking a lot in the kennel so maybe he just did it to himself, but she had no idea and would pull camera footage. 30 minutes later I get home and go to take pictures of him and notice two more cuts, one on his nose and one on his head. Called back and she had not pulled the footage and did not take any responsibility for the accident, kept putting it off on the groomer. Would really have appreciated a phone call when he started barking in his kennel so I could have gotten him and he not stress out more! 40$ for a bloody dog that is NOT de-shedded. Pleaee contact me. Pet paradise Phoenix has met all of my expectations! They are very kind and the lobby is filled with pet portraits of pets that visit them. It was very welcoming and warm, the place smelled really good, which is surprising since other facilities I have tried smell unpleasant. The staff made sure that Nugget, my golden retriever puppy, was comfortable to walk into their play room. They are super accommodating and let me know that he was not eating well during his stay, which is common for when he is stressed. I appreciate how well they communicated everything with me. They also have cameras in their play rooms which made me feel confident that they are taking good care of him. This is the only place that I trust will keep Nugget happy, healthy, and safe. I picked up my dog and she was filthy and wet, it smelled like she rolled in a puddle of diarrhea and pee. On top of that all the dogs drink out of the same water bowl when they play outside, that is soo unsanitary! Although the facility is clean and staff seen professional this was not a good fit for our dog. They lack space. We have a golden retriever and not enough room to run and get energy out. Probably fine for small dogs & older dogs but we are looking for a place for him to be active, be able to play run and burn off his energy. I've been going there since they opened and I just got booted as a client because I complained and they didn't like the fact I was calling them out on their crap service. Robin, their newest and by far WORST Groomer, has failed to finish the job on my chihuahua mix the last 2 times and I had to go to my vet to have his nails trimmed. They mistook me for a new client, claim they were never rude and blamed the old groomer for poor notes when he, in fact, got the job done every time. Take your dog elsewhere. Place sucks since old groomer left. I only went back because he was comfortable there. read more

Although she won't admit it out loud, I'm pretty sure my dog had a great time here. The facility is nice and pretty big. There are multiple sections where dogs are allowed to play based on their temperament. The employees seemed happy to work there, were very helpful, and friendly. I was able to make last minute accommodations and the chek-in process was much faster than the 30 minutes they anticipated. This was mostly because my dog doesn't have any medications. You can download an app and subscribe ($) to the web stream to check in on your pup. There are no breed restrictions. Other services are offered also but I only took advantage of overnight boarding.
