Called ahead to make an appointment to get my cat groomed. With previous grooming appointments at other companies cats were in a separate room from the dogs, NOT THE CASE HERE. My poor cat was in a room with 6 other dogs whining, shaking and barking. Staff was nice enough but the shave they offered on my cats stomach is incredibly uneven. I really want to give this Petsmart five stars, but the potty turf area right in front of the entrance seriously needs attention. The smell has gotten pretty intense, and it's very hard to ignore when you walk in. Hopefully management will address this soon, because it definitely takes away from the overall experience. Took me some time to find a groomer I can trust and thankfully I did. Nala, who has anxieties, is always happy and comfortable to see Shaday. She is gentle, caring, and does a beautiful job with Nalas groom. Now that Nala is senior with progressing medical conditions, Shaday continues to be supportive in providing Nala with the best accommodating Spa experience once a month. She's not only a sweetheart but also a dedicated worker who takes her time to give my dog--who's quite a challenge to groom--the best salon experience possible. After just a basic "Bath and Brush," my German Shepherd, Luna, comes out looking as pristine as a show dog: sleek, gleaming, and fresh. I take Luna here about every three months and honestly, look forward to her spa days more than she does because of how gorgeous she looks afterward! I used to bathe Luna myself but could never achieve the same results. Plus, my drains couldn't handle the furballs, and I couldn't handle Luna's impatience to escape the tub and sprint through the house soaking wet. Scheduling appointments is quick and easy--you can do everything online with just a few clicks. I find PetSmart's prices quite fair; I pay $42 for the basic package. There are add-ons and pricier packages available depending on your dog's needs, but the standard service is perfect for Luna, who spends a lot of time outdoors and has a thick, medium-length coat. On the day of the appointment, I check Luna in, and the groomer escorts her to the back. Since Luna is very clingy and struggles with separation anxiety, leaving her is always tough. However, the PetSmart staff are incredibly patient and do their best to accommodate my nervous pup. Once I leave, Luna settles down and tolerates her session just fine. The grooming process usually takes about two hours. Pick-up is stress-free--there's no rush if you need to run errands. Staff will call you when your dog is ready, and if you need extra time, they're very accommodating and will hold onto your pet until you arrive. Overall, I deeply appreciate the efficiency and kindness of the Pasadena PetSmart grooming staff and will continue to bring Luna here. My dog only needed a bath -- no haircut -- and every time I've been to PetSmart or Petco before, it usually takes about an hour and a half. I even called ahead to confirm my 5:30 appointment. If you were already that busy, you could have told me on the phone -- I wouldn't have come all the way for nothing. When I asked why, they said there were four dogs ahead of mine. If that's the case, why even allow 5:30 appointments? This is very poor scheduling and shows a lack of respect for customers' time. The groomer's attitude was also very dismissive, just saying I could reschedule if I thought the wait was too long. Very disappointing experience. I won't be returning to this location. read more

This review is specifically of groomer, Desiree. I've been taking my dog here for years and never had an issue with any of the other groomers. I was an Altadena resident and right after the fires I wanted my dog groomed because a friend was gracious enough to lend us their home, and I wanted to minimize any pet hair or dander. Instead of feeling any sort of compassion for us, Desiree hiked up the price on our service claiming our dog was a different breed which she is not. We adopted our dog from the shelter, she is a mutt. Her "breed" was assigned to her by another Petsmart employee when we first brought her in years ago. For YEARS she has been brought to this exact Petsmart and charged the same price, but Desiree felt the need to charge us more for an uneven, mediocre haircut at that. This was enough to make us never want to come back here. Everywhere else, people have been so nice and just touched my heart with the kindness and support they have shown our community, but I will never forget how this groomer could be so uncaring and unsympathetic charging us more when we had just lost everything. read more

Everyone I interact with is super friendly, very helpful when I need help finding something and always happy to see our pup. We took our dog to beginner's training, and our trainer, Jordan, could not have been nicer. She was so patient with us and our new doggie, and even recommended some behavioral therapists for us, since our dog still has some anxiety issues. It's such a pleasant surprise to find a store that still has good customer service. It's also super convenient that our vet, Banfield, is located inside the store. read more

Recently we went for the same service for her that they've seen her for, regardless that she was a little skittish and scared. They basically declined her service, which is not the part I'm really mad about. It's the fact that their groomers basically manhandled my pup (2 men), approaching her too quick and without introducing themselves to her, and then saying she's scared and anxious! I had to pickup a vet prescribed food for my cat and it was my first time coming into this Pet Smart to do so. I usually order on Chewy but we just ran out of his food! So I came here in hopes I could get some and I was able to!! Jason was kind, helpful and provided great customer service! All he needed from me was to show the prescription from his vet and then he set up an account for my cat and I and provided the card I need to pickup food. He made the process easy! Parking lot is huge, surrounded by all the great restaurants and other wonderful retail chain stores as well . We were lucky enough to have found our match from the weekly kitten adoption event at this location . JULIA was so personable from cat Adoption tails .she went above and beyond helping us finding the right kitten for our family. We were able to find everything we needed from this location. Prices of the pets bedding to pets food and toys, accessories were all very good . The qualities of the merchandise were always amazing as well . I made an appointment to have my cat's nails trimmed but they cancelled my appointment last minute and didn't want to interact with my cat even though they had never met them. The person I spoke to Manny Sins (appropriate name btw) was vague and danced around not wanting to see my pet and was rude when he said that he didn't want to work with my cat because of how he perceived to see my cat even though they had never met my cat. This store has the worst grooming services in the area. The last couple times I brought my 2 dogs in for baths, it took 5 hours and 3.5 hours respectively. Ive went twice this week just for that but had no luck! Anyway, staff is super friendly, always going out of their way to help and answer the questions I have. Though they havent been carrying the food I needed, this is the first time I had to experience this. They usually always have it! They also have an adoption center of their own on the right side of the store but because covid-19, I believe they are being fostered until further notice.
