I made an appointment to have my cat's nails trimmed but they cancelled my appointment last minute and didn't want to interact with my cat even though they had never met them. The person I spoke to Manny Sins (appropriate name btw) was vague and danced around not wanting to see my pet and was rude when he said that he didn't want to work with my cat because of how he perceived to see my cat even though they had never met my cat. Not only is it ridiculous that they didn't want to see my cat but they also have horrible customer service etiquette. If you can avoid this location I know I am. read more

This store has the worst grooming services in the area. The last couple times I brought my 2 dogs in for baths, it took 5 hours and 3.5 hours respectively. In dropping the dogs off, the groomers did not advise me it would take so long and were quite cold and cranky, clearly not happy with their employment. We are never coming back. read more

This review is about the Training Classes at Petsmart. I've brought my pup here for both the Beginners and the Intermediate training classes and have nothing but positive things to say about the experience. The dog training classes are located in the back of the store next to the doggy day care. The prices for the classes are very reasonable $119 for 6 weeks. Don't fear if your training day lands on a holiday, or you may have to skip a class, because they are very accommodating to let you attend a make up class. Also check for local coupons for 10% off your first puppy class. The trainer, Armando is not only experienced and very knowledgeable in the behaviors of the dogs, but he genuinely cares and loves spending time with them. I've never seen a dog not listen or follow his commands. He's that good! Keep in mind the classes are to teach your own pups using treats, commands and positive reinforcement. The beginners class will teach your dog simple yet necessary commands such as sit, lay down, come, leave it, and leesh walking. Armando will also listen to any special needs your pup may have. Over all, the facility is clean, the staff are friendly, the store is always well stock, and it's located in the large shopping center with plenty of parking. read more

GROOMING This morning I brought my golden retriever to get what is somewhere between his 10th and 15th grooming session at Petsmart. He can be anxious and in the past, even peed on the floor during check-in. During those visits, there were understanding and problem-solving employees that made the dog feel better and groomed him to look nice. But today was different. I walked in with two small children and did my best to get our dog, Basin, to walk with me but he was being stubborn and made it hard to get in. So someone named Kelly walks in and immediately scolds me for how I'm getting my 100 pound dog in the door. Then we do the collar exchange and she asks me to wait for 5 mins to see if they can get him to settle down. Do you know what makes an anxious dog more anxious? Making his family stand outside the door staring at him. I mention that we've come here many times, we leave him, and eventually things work out. They refuse to groom him. I ask to speak to a manager. The real manager doesn't come in until later apparently so they get some person who has no clue what they're doing on the floor to come "see what the problem is." They ask me who groomed my dog last, which I laughed "wouldn't YOUR team and records have more visibility into this?" So they look it up and guess who our last groomer was - Kelly! But today, Kelly is standing strong. She tells me I should go to the vet to see why my dog gets anxious going to the groomer (does any dog LOVE this experience by the way?!?!). So if the customer service couldn't be worse enough, we pack up, go to the car, and what do we see our awesome problem-solver Kelly doing? Walking over to Starbucks with a fellow groomer. I'm so sorry I got in the way of the coffee run, Kel. I'm sorry my dog needs a little extra attention to get to the back. I'm glad others have figured out the problem in the past. But there's no way I'm ever coming back after this. Truly one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. read more

I'm giving it a 3 star because of Daniel . He was great. First of all I couldn't find any help on the floor. Hate bothering a cashier but I had no choice. She was friendly. However, when I was walking into the store, I got a call from someone else saying my appointment was canceled due to a no show. Clearly, their communication with each other was poor. When I dropped my dog off for a groom, I was called 10 minutes later saying they couldn't continue because she kept moving or didn't stay still. I've taken her to other groomers and Petco with no problems, so this PetSmart seems to be quite inexperienced and unprofessional. To top it off, while I was there, two coworkers were bickering because someone let one of the dogs out and it was making a mess in the back, all wet from a shower. Beware of this location! Please do not purchase or return any items at this location. I purchased dog food online and went to return it at this location today. They inputted the price, but because the tax amount was off, I was refunded less than what I paid for online. This has happened a couple times before but I let it go, but I realize now this is happening regularly so I spoke up. Manager told me it's the taxes and that there's nothing they could do about it. Meaning, my refund is based on the local taxes so if the taxes I was charged online or another location is more than their local tax, I get less. This has NEVER happened at any store for any company. Each and every visit we have at this specific petsmart, all of the associates are pleasant and helpful. Cindy, a manager always greets our two loved ones Boss and Mochi with a smile and treat. This afternoon, we had to return to Petsmart do to our absent mindedness and leaving our Chicken Tenders in the Cart yesterday evening. Randomly we were in Cindy's registers line and as soon as we approached her register, she informed us of how their associates found our "bag of treats" last evening Cindy walked to her storeroom up front and returned with our bag of treats in hand. I cancelled my grooming appointment after seeing a photo on Google Reviews posted by Johan Smith last week. As a fellow Pomeranian owner, I am appalled!! Shaving a Pomeranian is a BIG DEAL, it ruins their fur for between a year and the rest of the dog's life, and the damage it does to the fur destroys the dog's natural temperature regulation. In a climate like ours, that can be deadly for a Pom!!! This is not just an ugly-looking mistake, it's dangerous! And looking through the reviews on google and Yelp, it looks like this isn't an isolated incident (lots of insane issues with the groomers, including multiple photos of dogs with lacerations??). I'm surprised that a Petsmart in Pasadena would be this trashy and careless. But, there are a million other better and less expensive groomers to take your dog to around here, so if you care about your dog.... you should try anywhere else. I've also been in here a couple times to shop, and each time it felt like pulling teeth to get an employee to help me find something or to ask a question. I've been going to other Petsmart locations for over 15 years and they're usually fine, but this particular one seems pretty dysfunctional. When you ask for assistance they act as if they are being inconvenienced - very unhappy and unmotivated employees. Just last month I came in to purchase two harnesses and leashes for our puppies. Probably going to be a $100+ sale. I asked the associate at the register for assistance, as there was nobody in the isles but three workers in the back talking and laughing. She said she could not leave the front. When I very nicely asked if she could call someone else, she rolled her eyes and acted like I was making some ridiculous request. I had almost exact change of the like $27 and change in my pocket randomly though-whew! Until some weird extra cents made me $.07 short. I'm there weekly spending $60+ including the day before over $80. The gal at register would NOT help me out and front me or look around for it etc or even ask The manager who def knows me by face at least! What she did do was get this look at the people In line behind me and apologize for Me and then roll her eyes and then not look me in the face when I was like can you Help Me or something I need this and I won't make it Back before close. These were some health supplies for My cat whom is a senior and has allergies so has trouble smelling with a stuffed up nose, therefore trouble eating. I have taken my dog to this grooming salon many many times. I want to say that my experience has been great. Everyone at this store greets you with joy. The tech assesses your dog and makes recommendations. Edward has been my go to groomer. Edward genuinely loves my dog. He shares good tips on how to care for senior dogs and other great tips. I dropped my dog off at 1:15pm today and 5pm I called and they said it would take another 45-50 minutes for him to be ready. Are you kidding me?!? 4 and a half to almost 5 hours for a bath?! No trim, no extras. Just a bath! And then because I questioned why it took so long when I arrived my groomer wasn't there and the others wouldn't even act like I was in the room. Terrible customer service in every possible way. My poop pup has hated going here and I can see why since he is likely out in a crate forever while they take other dogs. I really like this PetSmart. It's clean, huge with spacious aisles, plenty of selection and most of all, they have some of the nicest staff. Food selection varies from the common grocery brands up to the premium grain free holistic varieties; Puppy, Adult, Senior and over-weight, to Small breed, medium, large and giant breed. There is an abundance of food selection, it's totally up to you "the hooman" which one you think suits your budget, lifestyle and your furry baby's taste! PetSmart has tons of stuff for your furry babies too! Dog beds, travel crates or carrier bags, doggie pads and wee wee pads, scratch post and kitty towers, the selection is almost endless (almost). Toys of all shapes, color and sizes are available also! From squeaky ducks or the plushy bears or the tough and bouncy kongs with secret treat compartments to keep your babies entertained, tug ropes, tennis balls, frisbees, furry feathers and the fuzzy catnip mouse, they have an array of toys that your little babies could and sure would appreciate. With the store's enormity, I wasn't surprised to see a doggie day care, it was so much fun seeing all the dogs of all shapes and sizes interact and mingle peacefully. If a veterinarian is what you need, Banfield Pet Hospital is located inside this store too!! Pretty awesome friendly staff I have to say! Lastly, we are not the only one's who needs an occasional R&R, Grooming service is also available in the store, make sure to setup an appointment (for your furry babies of course haha) I typically like going to my local pet store, however, occasionally, there are things that you can only get reasonably in your giant pet stores. I really like how this store maintained its cleanliness and excellent customer service throughout the years. I like this PetSmart! We always end up coming here for convenience because it's the closest one to us, but the staff here is always really friendly. Especially at the cashier! They always make a small connection with us by commenting on what we're buying, what kind of dog we have, how old he is, even when he's not with us! The manager Juan was extremely nice and apologetic, which we appreciated about the situation, but it's still unfair that we lost out on $10. There's a holiday deal for each $50 you buy that you get an additional $10 coupon to use. We decided to buy 2 $50 gift cards. The sign said $10 per each $50 transaction. So we said we can do 2 transactions since there were two of us. The cashier said it's no problem and that he could just do it all in one transaction. Turns out he was wrong. We only got a $10 coupon and there was no way to return a gift card to make up for his mistake. The manager said he would be happy to apply the discount to any purchase we made that day but we were not buying anything. I don't think it's fair for us to be punished for the cashier's mistake. Dropped Buster off at Doggie Day Camp for the first time. I think I had more anxiety as he did. Buster is a pretty large dog, with a soft heart. He's also very protective. But don't let his size fool you; don't piss him off either. Dropped Buster off 1pm. Had no plans leaving for a long time, since it was his first time. Jasmine helped Buster in, evaluated him and noted he was very nervous being the new pup on the block. She made a few recommendations, so we decided to stay local and feel it out. Jasmine ensured us she would call if there were any issues, giving us comfort in leaving him. After an hour, we picked Buster up. He was still shy and nervous, but looked less frightened. Isidro approached us and right away gave us a run down. Isidro was very detailed in his assessment of Buster's first day. He was very kind, and made not only Buster feel comfortable, but also Buster's parents. Staff are great and care about your pet. I'm glad we decided leave Buster at Day Camp. The facility is very clean, and decent size for the amount of dogs they carry. Will definitely come back. read more

This one I don't mind coming to because the service is always friendly and the staff are very knowledgeable - they are pet lovers and owners themselves! They have a wide range of departments for every type of pet, whether you have a bird, fish, dog, cat, etc. Other services they have: grooming, doggie day camp, training classes, and Banfield the Pet Hospital. Grooming -they have windows so you can watch your as they are being groomed (no photography though!). -nail trim $8. I don't particularly like the way they cut my dog's nails only because they don't file them afterward; meaning I need to file them myself when I get home. Banfield the Pet Hospital -see my review for the hospital side -friendly staff and veterinarians will go out of their way to keep check on your pet after the visit -sometimes there is a long wait though Other stuff -on Sundays they have local shelters come for pet adoption -parking gets crazy on the weekends and during the holiday season -if you sign up for their reward program, they will send you discounts. Armando is the ONLY reason why I am giving this place five stars. Armando is an awesome pet trainer! My dog has taken the beginner, intermediate and advanced classes with Armando. The next step is for my dog to pass the Canine Good Citizen Program with Armando. He has been very patient and understanding with my dog that is very shy. If you intend to have your dog trained, I would highly recommend Armando's training classes. On the other hand, I booked a grooming appointment on PetSmart's app, and an hour before my dog's appointment I was informed that the groomer had another appointment. This is a large location, and every time I've been here, I've been greeted with a smile and hello at entry. Lots of items in stock. I like how they organize the aisles and label each aisle at the top. Lots of different types of dog food to choose from. I like the end aisles that have been converted to clearance items. My kids liked watching the doggies in doggy day camp, and it's nice to know you can adopt cats at this location too. read more

I go to Pasadena PetSmart for just about everything for my pup. The staff are always friendly and helpful, there is a good in store selection, and prices are reasonable. The groomers have done an excellent job with my nervous puppy- they are very patient with her and attentive to how stressed she is. She puts up a bit of a fuss but I think my pup secretly likes being groomed at PetSmart as she comes out feeling very proud and pretty! We are also doing training classes with Armando who is very knowledgeable and attentive to each of the dogs in his classes. My pup tends to be very excited to attend class. Armando gives us practical tools to do the real training at home and out in public- training is meant to be something fun for both my pup and myself! read more

I brought my puppy for private lessons with Armando, and he was incredible at helping me learn techniques for reducing my puppy's mouthing and excitability. He was very patient with both dog and human and took the time to explain things or find alternatives if something wasn't working. Carrie does a fantastic job of cutting my dog's hair every time. She does the most detailed work of all the groomers I've used. Usually groomers will miss spots, but Carrie rarely misses a spot. read more

There is currently a check-in offer for $5 off Salon or Pets Hotel. I tried to use it and after two managers coming by to assist the cashier, they didn't allow me to because it didn't have a barcode they could scan. I told them I would pay the full price because I knew there was a line forming behind me at the register. What's the point in having a check-in offer if it's not going to be honored?
