I do not recommend their pet daycare/hotel. We left our dog here for a few days while traveling and found out that they had left her in a cage the whole time, because they said she was snappy. Horrible service. We wanted our dog to go out there in their field and play, not be locked up in a cell the whole time. read more

It is a clean store with a variety of options for whatever you're looking for. I do find that it's difficult to find someone to help with inventory that is knowledgeable. If you're looking to get in and out to just grab what you need, this is the place to go. read more

My cats came back sneezing, eye infection and upset tummy. Not sure if other cats had same symptom.

Horrible customer service for the grooming salon at the Monrovia location. If you are 15 min late they won't take your dog but when you show up early and they have you wait 10-15 min. They don't even thank you for waiting. Groomers should understand we are the customer, they are rude and not accommodating. Picked up my dog and probably in retaliation to this post, groomer was rude yet again. Stating I should pick up my dog 15 min after they call me. They were mad and upset that my dog pooped in the Kennel and barks. They told me I have to book appointments with their manager from now on and not to book them online. Felt threatened, as a customer I have to right to evaluate customer service. Unless I have done something wrong I cannot be deny service by an employee. Retaliatory and discriminative in nature. read more

Boarded my dog at the Rainbow location and I think he had a great time. He stayed there for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly. The place was clean. And my dog looked happy when I picked him up. The price was great as well so all in all very happy with the service here. read more

Sent my dog in for a bath a few month ago, came back to find blood on his tongue... We thought maybe he bit himself during the bath. We are already suspicious because that has never happened anywhere else. Sent him in again this week he came back with a wound next to his eye!! that the employees can't (or unwilling?) to explain. Worst dog salon experience. If you love your pet stay far AWAY from this PetSmart. read more

PetSmart - Penny Love - Pet Groomers Near Me - Monrovia, California

This review is specifically towards the Pet Smart Hotel. I had my dog have an overnight at this location for the first time. Boarding process was smooth, and I trusted this location. I got her back, and when I got in the car I smelled a bad stench. I looked at her butt, and very visibly I saw poop ALL over her butt. And not just smears, literal chunks of poop too. Plus, it reeked. My dog is all white. How could brown smears go unnoticed + the heavy scent of poop, ON A WHITE DOG. She could've gotten an (bacterial) infection. I called Pet Smart Hotel, and explained to the person what happened. I was direct, honest, and admittedly angry. I even informed them I have pictures with time stamps. Imagine you trust someone to watch over your dog or baby and you get your loved one back covered in poop. They put me on hold 3-4 times. First time, the guy said the team lead would contact me. 30 minutes later, someone called me and asked what happened. I explained again, and they transferred me. Third person answer, and AGAIN they asked me what happened. I explained. I got transferred over AGAIN, to a supervisor I believe. They offered a free grooming session, and I said no because I already bathed her (why would I leave my dog covered in poop?) FINALLY- after one last hold, I was talking to the team lead. She was mainly rude, sometimes had a nice tone. I was nothing but polite. She had attitude in her voice, and didn't sound too sincere when she said sorry. I got a refund at least. Funny though, the grooming salon contacted me while I was working- saying my name, number and pet name was left to them. Even though I specifically said no to their services. If I wasn't ontop of this situation, I probably wouldn't have even gotten any compensation. Clearly there was 0 communication on this issue. Update: got ANOTHER call again from a different team lead (who was very sympathetic and nice), and said I was scheduled for a grooming session today. Further shows the lack of communication. I didn't pay $66 dollars for them to neglect my baby. Never coming back again. No dog EVER deserves this kind of neglect. Side note: she also has a cut on her private area. read more

This was the Monrovia location. It was chaotic when we arrived. Our appointment was for 12:30 pm, but we weren't waited on until about 12:50. The cut on our dog's face was uneven (requiring us to go back the next day). Also, he was knicked in his groin area, creating a very red hot-spot! We had to take him to the vet, and he is now on antibiotics and a prednisone cream, costing us over $350.00 We will NOT use this place ever again, so disappointed! read more

The Pet Hotel has the worst staff I've ever worked with, constant miss information from one staff member to the next, scheduling confusion on their part and no follow up skills. Not to mention the attitude! Stay away for own peace of mind, they're completely incompetent, it's mind blowing. read more

My dog came home scared and flinching at every move we made. In addition to this they gave us some other dogs blankets and none of it was washed. We specifically asked not to have the stuff shared with other dogs. Very disappointed with the care provided to my dog! She is also 5 lbs less and she i can feel her spine! I'm so sad that she was malnourished and didn't feel safe during the 10 days I was out of the country! DON'T bring your dog here! Duration: December 15-December 26th, 2021 Healthy weight before: 38lbs Current weight: 33lbs I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not :( I'll add photos soon to show her weight loss in a span of 10 days. I'm going to have to give this place 3 stars because although I come here here for many reasons the hotel is always too slow! There is never ever anyone at the front desk! I wait for someone to come then I get the "someone will be with you" I mean every time. Like today for example! I had arranged to have my do groomed at 9:30 and when I picked him up at 4:30pm he was getting his cut! I had to wait an additional 10 minutes because the groomer thought we had no rush. This needs to change! We have things to do and don't have time to wait such a long time. We have spent up to 20 minutes to check him in/out. It's unacceptable! read more

Always have a great selection and sales people are helpful. Website is also easy to use.

I went here for the Banfield hospital. The vet bill is more reasonable than the private vet places. Customer services is good.

What a well set up store. I usually shop in Pasadena but this store was clean and really set up nicely. Most of all Rachael L at the register went above and beyond and really helped me out. She was knowledgeable and kind and made sure I entered my rewards account, used any coupons and truly cared about my experience. I think I'll start shopping at the Monrovia store. Thanks Rachael you really were great! Great Petsmart experience. 5 stars read more

My dog just spent his first week away from our family while we were on vacation visiting family out of town. I was nervous about leaving him but the staff at Petsmart made sure that we were looped in on everything from his food intake to his naps, etc... the communication was extremely good and the staff really seemed to care about the animals. Our dog came back calm and happy and also got groomed right before pickup and now looks like a million dollars. Thank you Petsmart staff!! We'll be back there with Yoshi for more day camps, grooming and long stays!! You all are great!!! read more

Petsmart Hotel/Daycare customer service could be a lot better. They try to find every reason to deny taking your dog. I have a toy pomeranian and they are saying it could be too small to handle and they were trying to handle her without even giving time for her to get used to them. I mean seriously? They don't have the desire to be helpful or put in effort. Not all dogs are going to be friendly at first sight. Just because of that they are saying they won't take your dog if the dog doesn't like them within the first 5 minutes. read more

We love PetSmart! Our groomer, Nicole, is the very best for our feisty dog, Gummy.

I have used this store several times for grooming, my last 2 experiences were terrible. The first time I was there, I was not notified the shots of my dog were going to expire, I got to the store EARLY, and the groomer showed up 15 minutes late! Which I was fine with, but I was turned away because the shots expired. Fine, so I got the shots, rescheduled. The second time I was there is where I have the biggest problem. I showed up 5 MINUTES late, thinking since the groomer isn't the most on time, the lady at the desk SHOUTS AND ANNOUNCES to everyone in the room I'm 5 minutes late, do I get to keep the appointment. The groomer looked up and gave a reluctant yes. I work in the service industry, this is not acceptable behavior to reprimand the customer for 5 minutes, when the service was late on their own 15 minutes late. But not only that, to shout it out and announce it? Thanks but I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Hopefully you will treat your future customers better. The actual grooming was fine, average. But the way they treat customers is ridiculous. read more

I am really upset about the PetHotel. I don't blame (or know) any individual employee. What I do know is I dropped off my pet Thursday afternoon for a 2 night stay. I also dropped off food with her because she has a sensitive stomach and also refused treats. I ended up picking her up early so she only stayed one night. I picked her up around 8:40pm Friday. I was told all was well. That she wasn't pooping so they fed her some pumpkin and she pooped. I said great, and happily went home and to sleep. At 5am, my dog started jumping on me, and I tried to ignore it. But soon, I got out of bed and turned on the lights to see she pooped in 2-3 different spots on the carpet. She does not do this. One stool was normal but the rest was a bit mushy. Super gross. I called them in the morning and they said pumpkin does that and do wait. Later in the day, the stool got even more mushy. Again, I was told it's not diarrhea, just pumpkin. This time the woman told me my dog had not eaten at all. I asked why no one had called me. She said they don't call if the pumpkin works. And if it continues, they will pay for the vet visit. While this is good knowledge to have... I also now have work & a distressed dog & things I was just not planning for. Again, knowledge of these issues would have been nice. And people keep giving conflicting info from she was fine to she didn't poop to she didn't eat. Finally, right now, it is 2:51am. My dog has woken me up 3 times because she has to go from 11pm onwards (how fun). I am exhausted from cleaning up after her (so not her fault), and to top it all off, I start a new job tomorrow. All this because I left her for one night. I am sure she was looked after, but I am so irritated about not knowing exactly what happened with the feeding. More so because now I am dealing with it at 2:30am. The stool is still not normal. Also, when I did pick her up early, there was no extra food left in the bag I dropped off (which would have covered at least 2 more meals). I won't be using PetSmart Hotel anymore. read more

Telah is a very pet stylist, she is nice , lovely . She will discuss the dog's condition with the owner. I strongly recommend!

My review is strictly for DOG PRODUCTS and PRICES. I DON'T take my dogs here for vet visits, dog boarding/day care, OR grooming. I'm actually NOT A FAN of PetSmart's grooming so it's not something I'd necessarily recommend. I also have not experienced any problems with the customer service. I have 3 very picky dogs and they only eat certain snacks and brands of dog food. I think I've bought every kind of treat from here which my dogs have taste tested. I ONLY buy things if they ARE ON SALE or if I've priced the items elsewhere (even Amazon) and PetSmart still seems to have the lowest price. I've been to so many pet stores and PetSmart's prices are decent. What do I buy here? ==================== (PetSmart does not carry the dry food my dogs eat so I go somewhere else for that.) Blue Buffalo canned food (stews). They run from $2.10-$2.59 per can. Wellness - canned food (stews) Blue Buffalo Dental Bones True Chews Bully Sticks - on sale, they are usually $12.99 for a pack of 6 True Chews Premium Jerky Cuts Himalayan Chews Dog Pee Pads - I get the boxes of 150 and when on sale they knock off $12-15 (Costco used to have 100 pee pads for $14 something, but I don't see them anymore). Occasionally, I'll also get dog sweaters or dog toys when they have good prices. But who needs toys when all my dogs want to play with are my husband's socks?! Dog beds here are either cheap quality or super expensive so I usually get those from Costco. Regarding customer service, I think most of the day staff recognize me immediately. I usually come during my lunch break. They've always been friendly and ask me if I need help looking for anything. I always reply "nope, I know exactly where everything is..." haha.... 53/100 Reviews for 2014 read more

Had a rude interaction with a worker named Nicole . I tried to buy 3 long finned zebra danios and 3 ghost shrimp for my 29 gallon. She refused to to sell me anything without a water sample and said it was protocol to have a water sample before she could sell me any fish. I been a customer for years and have had aquariums for 30 plus years. I feel like it's discrimination because my bf looks like a thug and I look gay. I never once have had to prove my water chemistry or been asked 21 questions for a 3 dollar fish. I will not be buying from you guys any longer. read more

Groomers: Alysha is AMAZING! I have been bringing my cocker spaniel to the Monrovia Petsmart for over a year now for grooming - and we always use Alysha. She is a fantastic groomer. Depending on the season, she needs a different haircut. Alysha listens to what you want, and makes suggestions based on what works for the dog's specific coat and undercoat. Her cuts always look natural and even - and with my dog's long ears, curly hair and undercoat, that's hard to do! I've seen her around anxious dogs, big and small - and she has a way of making them all feel more comfortable! Go see alysha read more

10/10 food, my compliments to the chef. The food was a 10/10, and they even have the ingredients fresh!

This review is specifically for the PetsHotel/Grooming. I've taken my pups to several of the PetsHotel locations, and while the staff at this location was wonderful, it seemed lacking in organization. When we arrived on the first day to check in the pups, there was only one employee and several people were waiting. The check-in process seemed to take a lot longer than I am used to (10 minutes of waiting and about 15 minutes of checking in), and I chalked it up to being a new year and having to make sure that all paperwork was updated. I had scheduled the pups for exit grooming to be picked up at 2pm on the second day of the visit. Unfortunately, only one of the pups had been groomed, my short haired dog. I had wanted my longer haired dog to have a full groom, as it was much needed, but they had run out of time (and we arrived just after 2:00.) I had already gone through the checkout/payment process, which we waited 15 minutes for, and had to wait another 15 minutes for the employee to do the refund. Basically it was a 40 minute checkout process from arrival to being handed the pups, and I was leaving with one smelly dog (they play hard, which is good, but makes for stinky dogs). I also feel the pricing was higher than I've paid in the past. Came to $250.00 for two nights (2 dogs for 2 days of full day-camp and 2 overnights, two treat kongs plus one bathing.) I've used another facility in my hometown that was the same pricing for three nights, and they're organized, efficient and the services are identical. Sorry PetsMart hotel, the pups and I have decided to not return to this or any of the PetsHotel locations. read more

Overall, very caring and compassionate employees at the Pet Hotel. We boarded after checking several area facilities. Our small dog lost almost all of her hearing after being boarded over the holidays. Her hearing was fine prior to boarding, so I wonder if it was due to the barking that she was exposed to or if it is just because she is 11 years old. We would use them again and try to secure an individual room instead of general boarding. read more
