I really like the groomer salon here. I've been taking my miniture schnauzer for the last 5 years, & he's pretty awful personality wise. But they always do a good job at a reasonable price, even when he tries to bite them! read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at the PetSmart Monrovia Pet Hotel. I specifically paid for a suite because I wanted my dog to be comfortable and properly cared for during his stay. He was only there for one night, but when I picked him up the next morning, I honestly felt like he had been kept in a cell rather than the "suite" I paid for. The treats I packed for him were still sitting in his bag and appeared not to have been given to him. Even more concerning, he came home dirty and smelling strongly of urine, which made me wonder whether he had been left lying or sleeping in his own urine. I also discovered a new bump/irritation on his face near his nose that was NOT there when I dropped him off. I have no way of knowing exactly what happened to him overnight, but seeing an unexplained injury immediately after picking him up has me extremely concerned about whether he was injured, improperly restrained, or handled roughly during his stay. I would like an explanation as to how this happened. On top of everything, I was unhappy with the staff's attitude and the way my dog was handled. I trusted this facility to keep him safe and comfortable, especially after paying extra for a suite. Instead, I picked up a dirty, smelly dog with unused treats and an unexplained injury. I will not be boarding my dog here again. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this Pet Hotel ask exactly where and how their dog will be kept and cared for before leaving them overnight. read more

My grand dog enjoyed his stay and was happy when he was picked up. This location is far but our daughter feels comfortable with the chain.

Came here for Easter picture. The gal that helped us what super nice. She took pictures with her phone and ours. Tons of pics so we could decide. She did a nice job. She informed us of what the store offered for training and new puppies which was very nice. For new puppy owners I thought this was extremely informative. read more

Took my dachshund to get a full groom. He came home with bloody paw beds and is barely stepping on them. I feel so bad for him. They didn't even tell me about it, I found out when I got home. To top it off they cut his hair way shorter than I requested and cut parts of his hair I asked to not cut. DO NOT RECOMMEND Very shady that they didn't mention anything about the paw cuts read more

I'd like to give less than three stars, but I know it may not be fair. The prices are absolutely bonkers. The deals are buy three get the fourth for free. Cheapest toys are $17, do the math. My dog tears through them in minutes. Looked for a doggie weighted back pack. None here. I think dog products have gotten so expensive to replace people from having children. Make your own toys. read more

I bought a omega supplement that was 30 with tax and my dog refused to eat it. I went into the store to get a refund and cashier just told me no returns on open items but the receipt doesn't say that. Online it says I can return with in 60 days open or not. I told the cashier its a lot of money for somthing that doesn't work for my dog to eat and she tells me to go to "Petco" like what the hell. Terrible customer service. Manager was nice to give a refund and apologize and explained that it's their policy. Never coming here I'm going to centintela who will do the refund and better customer service. Don't come here go to another store with better customer service. Petsmart will rob you. read more

Tall blonde in ponytail was extremely rude. Had no manners whatsoever in talking to customer. Yelled.

This location needs better staff and service, very disappointing after coming here for years.... Do better Pet Smart!! Have had very good bathers but only needed one person to ruin it for everyone else.... Always have had a good experience with Pet Smart, never had a bad thing to say about it until now.... I only downloaded the app to let people know... BUYERS BEWARE Kristin took forever with my precious doggy.... I had to pay a lot for what seemed like very little work, even though she DEFINITELY took her time.. This particular time I waited for HOURS, only to end up with Kristen calling my personal cell and rushing me to pick up my doggy before the store closes! As if that was my fault!? No, I will not put up with this anymore, I am telling my friends and family about my story, this is truly ridiculous.... One of my only bad experiences with Pet Smart, never will I come here again, only if I'm looking for horrible service and being rushed from someone who smells like bad decisions....... read more

Some staff here are super nice but others are very rude and have nothing but attitude. And apparently this Petsmart has rules for buying prescription pet food that no other stores have. They refused to honor my rx card saying that I had to get it from their Banfield. All other stores have honored my med card I got at the Glendora store. When I questioned it as to why they wont except it she rudely say we dont do things that way here and then proceeded to say, I'm just trying to help you and if you'd take 2 seconds and go to the banfield we wouldn't be having this conversation. read more

I take my Frenchie mix dog to the groomer there and to the vet service.. I've only had one negative experience with the groomer. They've always been very sweet and gentle with Belle except for one time she was there several hours, and when I picked her up, her chest was wet. They called me and said she was ready. I expected her to be completely dry. Very disappointed that time the rest of the times after that she's been completely dry. I also take her to the vet and Dr. Washington adores her. I first met him when I got her from a shelter. She had some issues I wanted to make sure she was OK This was my local Petsmart in Sunland Tujunga. Recently, I took her to a doggie hotel in a Petsmart in Monrovia. They two adored her. I left both my dogs there while I went on vacation. My daughter picked them up and said they were in excellent condition and of course happy to go home. I would definitely take my dogs there again. There's a grooming service and a vet on site. I can't rate the grooming service or the vet service at this location as I've never use them. read more

I have brought my dogs here for years and never have had a bad experience. The groomers are all very sweet with the dogs. Recently I had Kris (Kristin) and Stephanie and the cuts came out great and you can tell they both care a lot for the pups. Sometimes it does take longer than expected, this is a super busy location. I can only guess this last time took longer because of the holiday season. Kris also apologized and threw in a free nail grind for it taking a little longer than expected. Honestly I'd rather they treat my dogs well and it take little longer than rush through and neglect their needs. All of the groomers there are amazing and we look forward to seeing you in the new year! read more

Long review here and I feel it's a reflection of Petsmart as a company overall. This is specifically for anyone with pets that may have a health condition that affects their skin. This specific location was my go-to for boarding. My current dog was diagnosed with lupus a couple of years ago. She is required to take medication and have an ointment applied to her nose as it's the part of her body that suffers due to her condition. Back in March, I took her in for a two-night stay. We were turned away because her nose looked like it had a "wound" or so the staff said. The problem is that her nose was never an issue before and we had never been turned away. Staff said it was policy. I even asked if we got the vet on the phone to talk about it, would that be a solution? Nope. It didn't matter what the vet said. I understand the well-being of other animals, but lupus isn't contagious. The two-night stay was canceled by Petsmart. Since I had other reservations booked, I called today to ask if they accepted paperwork/a note from the vet to perhaps clear my dog to proceed with these future stays. Petsmart is standing on 10 toes about this "new" policy. I asked why my dog was able to stay in the past, but not the last time when they canceled. I was told previous stays proceeded because they had been mishandled by management. I was also told that this is company policy. Again, I understand the well-being of all animals. What I don't understand is the lack of communication and transparency. When did this new policy update kick in and why is Petsmart not informing customers ahead of time? How about sending an email with the policy update? Since my dog was denied service, I have stopped spending my hard earned money here and started buying products somewhere else. Future reservations have been canceled. The only reason I'm not giving a one star rating is because everything was smooth up until this experience. This review is my "heads up" to anyone with pets that may deal with a health condition. read more

PetSmart dog hotel, and daycamp is great! The staff there is so friendly, my dog loves them. He's an older husky, 12 years old. We had some home repairs done, so he was going daily for a month. Check in and pick up went pretty smoothly. The staff are always so sweet. My dog is familiar and comfortable going with them and comes back happy. Recently they had some global tech problem and all systems were down. They worked quickly to get him checked in making sure that they had all the directions written down for his care. I don't even worry anymore when I have to go away for a few days because I know he'll be well taken care of there. read more

I'm a normal shopper at this location when I'm in town. I usually experience good customer service but today when I asked for a manager I felt liked I was dismissed and lied to. I will from now on NEVER shop there again because their lack of customer service is awful. The manager didn't have the decency to come to the phone; instead had someone who sounded like it was their first day on the job answer questions. Your three stars are well earned. I take my dog here for day-camp and overnight stay occasionally when I go out of town. They take great care of my dog and give him a lot of attention . They have workers for 24 hours with your dog when they are left overnight , which I love. This makes me feel comfortable while I am away. They feed him three times a day and he plays daily at the day camp for a few hours. They also call you if they need to ask questions or to give you an update on how he/she is doing. The area where they keep the dogs and cats for overnight is very clean. They give discounts for various jobs, first responders, etc. I love taking my dog here because I feel they watch him and gives him the attention he needs to cope while I am away. I will be a regular customer as long as they are around. read more

If you're looking for a safe and comfortable place to leave your pet, then look no further than the Petsmart Pet Hotel! First time boarding my dog Luna here, and honestly I was super nervous. My pup is attached to me and can get uneasy around strangers, so I was really deliberate about finding a reliable place to board her. After hours of skimming through reviews , I finally found tPetsmart Monrovia and felt convinced enough to try it due to the positive feedback. I'm sure glad I did! From the moment I left Luna in their care, I was reassured - The Petsmart staff are very friendly and my dog warmed up to them immediately. The check in process is a breeze -- a staff member will ask you detailed questions about your pet to make sure that they are given the best care. You're allowed to bring your pet's food, bedding, and toys from home (I made sure to do that and I think the familiar smells helped ease my dog's nervousness a lot!) My anxiety was also lessened because I was able to contact the hotel at any time during the day to check in on my pet. I'm pleasantly surprised by the high level of care that Petsmart offers. The dogs are kept stimulated with games, treats, walks and are frequently checked on throughout the day. What's also reassuring is that each dog has a private suite that is climate controlled, sanitized, and that there is a vet on call 24/7 in case of emergencies (this sounds much more legit to me than placing my dog under a stranger's care from some online pet service). After my dog's stay at the pet hotel, I was relieved to see that Luna left happy and healthy! Thank you Petsmart for looking after my dog and for allowing me to actually enjoy my trip. I'll be using your service in the future and will recommend it to anyone who is looking for a secure place to board their pet! read more

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my dog and rabbit supplies from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. Pets are allowed in here. Yay! Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive. So many spots for you to choose from. Take your pick. However, beware that some spots are smaller than others. Established & Staff: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, and tidy. Things are very organized and well stocked. Well, at least on the day that I had gone. The staff here are very friendly, loving towards animals, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. read more

This location is ALWAYS under staffed. Long lines and only one register open. This is a daily issue here.

I just got a new puppy about 6 weeks ago so I came here today to refill his dog food. Well I am glad I came in. The prices and selection here is better than Centinella Feed store in Duarte. But I was most surprised at how much I could've saved if I had brought my dog here instead of the veterinarian for his shots. In the past 6 weeks I so want approx $800 in shots and vet visits. But the best thing about coming here today was the service that I received from two of the employees, Gabrielle and Emerson. Two of the nicest sweetest people who really took the time to answer my questions. Besides that I got some great discounts on training and food using their Puppy Guide. You get up to $200 in savings with a $19.00 purchase. I can't wait to start Oliver's training read more

I initially purchased my fish on November 2019 from a local mom and pop shop, marking the beginning of a significant new chapter in my life with my daughter. I started with Bali sharks, which grew from about half an inch to six inches, along with a beautiful variety of glow fish and guppies. My fish were easy to maintain and thrived in their environment. Despite hearing concerning stories about the animals at PetSmart and the negative experiences others have had with pet deaths, I decided to add a new small fish to my collection from their store. Unfortunately, shortly after introducing it to my tank, I noticed a blemish on the fish. Within a few days, my other fish developed blisters and ultimately, all ten of them died. It felt like losing a beloved pet. On January 5, 2025, at 5 PM, I called PetSmart Monrovia where I had purchased this fish and spoke with a female manager. I explained the situation regarding the blemish and how it led to the loss of my entire tank. She informed me that it was likely "ick" and suggested I come in to pick up a treatment. When I expressed my frustration that my fish were already dead, she reiterated that there was nothing more she could do aside from recommending a product after the fact my entire tank was dead. "well then that's all I can do thanks for calling". I found her response dismissive and unhelpful. Due to this experience, I will no longer shop at PetSmart. I am devastated by the loss of my fish and will now direct all my business to "Arts Underwater Reef" in Pasadena, where I received thorough guidance on how to proceed when I am ready to set up a new tank. My daughter and I are devastated and the response of the manager was callous, and defensive as she claimed they pretreat all of their animals and I could have returned it. read more

THIS IS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PET HOTEL ON SITE. If I could give them a negative review I would!!!! I brought my cat here for one night only and I have brought him here before and he was fine. This time around a full 24 hours after I dropped him off he came home sneezing and sneezing non-stop. His nose and eyes were watery and not only does he stay inside all day but he's normally very healthy as he's only 11 months old! Clearly he caught something while at this facility because it is not clean and they clearly do not sanitize it properly I am beyond upset because I have had to take him to the vet and spend tons of money on bills because he has an upper respiratory infection now and needs medication!!! Beware that they do not CLEAN the facility well OR they must allow sick pets to stay there! To top it all off the associate was NOT friendly at all and did not give me much information when asked in regards to how my cat was during the stay which I thought was odd. Please refrain from bringing your pets to this facility for an over night stay or at least think twice before you do! P.S YES my cat is fully vaccinated and has all his shots up to date. read more

This review is specifically for the Pet Hotel. I left my 10 year old Corgi here for 3 nights, and received a call, the morning of picking her up that she needed to be taken to the vet, because she had a wet stool with blood like jam coming out of the back of her. I thankfully had just gotten back from my trip, so I rushed to get her. Along with not being cleaned in the back, she ended up having stress colitis, which is life threatening for dogs, and also leads me to believe that she wasn't well taken care of and neglected at this facility. She's stayed at many boarding facilities over the years and never had an issue, but this was a first. Stress colitis (severe bleeding in the stool) is caused by anxiety and trauma, and can make a normally healthy pup sick. I'm going to list an honest list of pros and cons of leaving your pup here from a first time guest. Pros: Staff is sweet, kind, and seems like they really love pets. -The check in/out process is fairly quick -The price is decent -I like that the daycare area is supervised and open -They go over a health check of your pup in advance -5 hours of playtime (I payed for extra hours) -Appreciated getting a call that my pup was sick Cons: -You're entrusting your dog with 18 year olds with no vet experience -Your dog is kept in a cage most the time which can be hard on a dog that is not used to this -Not recommended for senior age dogs, or dogs with anxiety. Young pups are probably fine -No communication during the stay how your dog is doing, and it's quite a process trying to get a hold of someone. The "pet hotel" option on the Monrovia store phone links to a general message board to all pet hotels in which you're on hold for a good 30 min plus to speak to a rep who does not work at the Monrovia store. -They don't clean the back of your dog if they have loose stools, and what I saw looked like it was dry and crusted for a while. Gross! All and all my corgi was taken to the vet and ended up being ok after getting her on some medication right away and watching her over the week. If I wasn't available, I could have lost her. This place is probably totally fine for a young dog, but definitely not recommended for a senior. I won't be taking my pup back to this place. :( read more

Absolutely LOVE the grooming department! All the groomers are nice and professional! They take great care of my 2 dogs! My youngest is a bit rambunctious and I know can be difficult to groom but Alexa does FANTASTIC with him. She always takes the best care with him! My oldest is going on 15 years old and is a big boy! He has arthritis, hip dysplasia and a level 1 heart murmur which i always remind them when dropping him off. ALWAYS tell them about any health conditions your pet has they are always very accommodating! Alanna is fantastic and always gentle with him! Now that he has more trouble standing I've started bringing him a matt to stand on and any time he's having trouble shes asked other ppl for help. Ive seen other groomer take great care in helping Alanna keep my boy up and safe! He does take a little longer to get done but honestly I really don't mind! That just let's me know that they are taking care of him and giving him the breaks he needs! 10/10 would recommend this salon! I absolutely love all the groomers here! read more

Most horrifying experience at your Monrovia grooming service. My dog ended in emergency with the vet following this visit. My dog walked in to be groomed and could not stand on his back legs after the visit and could not walk out. We had to carry him to the car. What ever was done was not what any pet should go thru. I was told by Alex and Alana..."they tag teamed to get him done" and "next time he should have an express visit so the time is shorter". Are you kidding? He was dropped off at 12:30 and they finished at 5:30. I do not know what they did but it was horrible. He is now on pain meds for the whole week and graining the strength back to his rear legs to walk again. I should bring charges against this store for the incompetence of these two groomers. I am going to post this on every social media platform I have to warn others of this event. You need to train you groomers on how to care for animals they groom. THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND HORRIFYING FOR OUR FAMILY!!!! read more

I brought my newly adopted dog here for a doggie day camp and grooming experience this past weekend and I thought it was an ok experience. I mean, I don't have any other experience to compare this to. I booked a half day, day camp plus grooming services for my dog. For starters, my dog was really excited to be in the presence of other little doggies, which made me happy. But, the room all the dogs were in was really too small to be considered enjoyable... It made me wish some of the other Petsmarts with larger rooms would reopen their doggie day camp. The only one available at the time of booking was Monrovia's location. I'm guessing the petshotel and grooming don't communicate because when 1:30pm came around, I get a call from Petsmart asking if I was still interested in grooming my dog. I explained that I booked a package and that my dog was at the petshotel. And they said Oh! And that was it. Afterwards, at 3pm, I went to go pick up my dog, thinking he'd be in the grooming section and none of the groomers knew which dog I was talking about! They told me to wait for another 40 minutes and to wait for someone to call me. And so, I waited...for 40 minutes, but no call came, so I called the store and the same lady from earlier picked up. I briefly explained the situation and she said she'd ask. When she got back on the phone with me, she said my dog had been ready for pick up awhile ago and that I'd have to pick him up at the petshotel... o_o I'm not sure what happened, but as a first-timer, I kinda wished I got some direction from the petshotel or the groomers or that they'd coordinate services with each other? Otherwise, I kind of like this location. It's quiet and easy to pick up food and treats. The employees are quite nice and helpful, so it's worth my time. The Petsmarts in busier areas tend to get crowded fast and the lines do pile up, so if you know what you're looking for, this is a great location for a quick purchase. After I checked my dog out, he got his report card and everything was kinda cute. Judy held my needy dog for awhile and I appreciate that! read more
