We recently visited Wonder Dog Ranch with hopes of finding a safe and fun place for our dog to socialize and play. However, a few red flags made us uncomfortable with leaving our pet there. First, when we arrived, we weren't allowed inside--not even into the front office. Instead, we had to fill out all the paperwork outside. When we asked to see the play area where the dogs would be spending their time, we were also denied access. This raised concerns about transparency. Inside the office, we noticed a TV monitor and asked if it was used for pet parents to check in on their dogs during pet play time , Kevin told us no. This meant that once we left our dog, we had no way of knowing how they were being treated or interacting with other dogs. When we asked for a visual reference of the play area, he only had a few photos, which showed a couch and some toys--not the engaging and structured environment we were expecting. We did leave our dog for the initial evaluation. Before I left I asked him if he can take a video for me for todays at least, so that I can see how my puppy interacts with his stay , he then assured me he would be able to do that. My husband and I left to grab a bite, and returned in 45 min. When we returned I asked to see the video, and he said he did not take a video of my puppy interacting. After we left we discussed it and didn't feel comfortable with the lack of access and transparency. We ultimately decided not to bring our dog back. While we can't say anything negative about how the dogs are actually treated, the fact that pet owners aren't allowed to see where their pets will be playing or how they are interacting raises concerns. For us, peace of mind and trust are essential when leaving our pet in someone else's care, and unfortunately, we didn't get that here. I've had wonderful experiences boarding my Weimaraner at Wonder Dog Ranch, and I cannot recommend them enough! She can be on the nervous side when in an unfamiliar setting. Kevin took the time to listen to my dog's needs, which made me feel confident she would be well cared for during her stay. Would not send my fur baby here. Feel bad I even let this place take my fur baby inside there facility even when I didn't get to see what it looks like indoors. read more

First of all, you are not allowed inside the place not even the lobby. What are they hiding? Makes me think it's dirty. They wanted $175 For 2 nights, which I questioned. He said it was because I reserved a spot for noon that day and did not drop off till 2 PM. Another reason for low rating is Kevin's attitude. He said to me "if I did not like the way they did things I did not have to come back". Needless to say I did NOT leave my dog there. read more

My dog loves coming here! She runs in happily every time and comes home tired. The staff shows real knowledge and care for our dog. They are always friendly and accommodating when we need to drop her off at the last minute. I trust Wonder Dog Ranch completely. Our dog needs a bath when she comes home from daycare but that's well worth all the fun she gets to have, not to mention having a calm dog for the rest of the afternoon. read more

The owner of this business was amazing with my stubborn English bulldog pup. Had a last second emergency and needed to drop my pup off for the day. Kevin was great with communication and I felt like I could trust him with my boy with just a short phone call. He does recommend a visit prior to any extended boarding though. We love Wonder Dog Ranch! Our pups have done very well staying here. Their tails are always wagging when we go in for a stay. I had an emergency one time, WDR was able to squeeze in my pups. It's best to plan ahead but I was really thankful that I was able to leave my pups on such short notice. We were evacuated from our home earlier this week and on emergency basis Kevin took in our three large and rambunctious golden retrievers at WDR. They spent three full days and nights. Kevin keep them separated from other dogs because we couldn't verify their rabies vaccination with virtually no advance notice. Our three pals returned to us healthy and happy. We have been bringing our dog here for about 8 months, and for at least two days a week. I am so thankful they are able to watch my active dog while I'm at work! He is asleep the whole ride home and is so tired from all the fun! WDR is so caring not only with my dog but within the community. I brought a 40 lb. of dog food from my other dog who passed away last year and they packaged it individually for a local non-profit that provides food for families in need. Our dogs home away from home. We feel so comfortable leaving our dogs here, whether it's a few hours, a weekend, or even longer stays. My dogs are both rescues and Don't do well in typical kennel type boarding. Wonder Dog Ranch is the absolute greatest getaway for our pups! We've been taking our 2 dogs to the Ranch for boarding for the past 7 years. Brenda and Kevin are wonderful, extremely knowledgeable about animal care, and extremely compassionate towards all dogs. We are extremely particular about who we leave our dogs with (they are our entire lives, and we are very protective!), and I sleep easily on vacation knowing they're having such a fun time at WonderDog. We call it their puppy sleep away camp! Wonder Dog Ranch is exceptionally cared for, the facilities are clean, comfortable and very welcoming for the dogs. It's rare to find somewhere that provides overnight staffing for the dogs, which gives me great peace of mind. I cannot recommend Wonder Dog Ranch more highly for anyone in need of daycare or boarding. read more

The absolute only place I will leave my dog! The owners are such a delightful couple who absolutely LOVE DOGS!!! We have left our 7 year old Yorkie Louis with them on several occasions from daycare to a 3-day vacation. The facility is adorable! It is a great feeling to know that my dog is safe and REALLY happy when I am away. We have taken our small dog here at least 15 times over the past year and found them to be responsible and a fun outing for our pet. My dog paws at the door to get in. The dogs are in a living room like setting with a tv, couch and comfy chairs. There is a person inside with the dogs all the time. They get walks, treats, playtime, and socialization all day long. The owners Brenda and Kevin are super animal people. You can tell they just LOVE dogs and sometimes I joke that my dog likes Brenda better than me. Yesterday I ran into someone who takes their dog to WDR and he told me his dog likes Kevin better than him. I love doing business in my own town, and I am thrilled to do business with such nice folks, who take amazing care of my pet and do tons of things for our community. read more

I take my boxer Gigi to Brenda & Kevin regularly & she LOVES it. She comes home tired & happy. The facility is very clean, has plenty of room, & a lot of stimulating activities. They don't just lock your dog up in a kennel - they take them on walks, play ball, & a take some pretty hilarious pictures too (which you can check out on their face book page). It seems like both the owners really enjoy their line of work & genuinely want to take care of your pet. Honestly my dog is happy to see them & has a blast every single time she goes. I really can't recommend them enough. They are so easy to work with as far as scheduling goes & really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are also really involved with the local community so you often get the update on local events going on around town. Wonder Dog Ranch is great! The facility is set up well and very homey for the pups. TVs to watch, couches to sit on, multiple play areas and kennels. Someone is onsite 24 hours a day if a dog is boarded so your kids will never be left unattended and they really care about animals - so much that they are the local emergency evacuation site. Also, very close to the 210 freeway, making it very accessible if you commute. Inclusive facility and all well-behaved dogs are welcome! Some places have breed or other restrictions and this facility does not forbid a good dog from attending based upon factors beyond its control. read more

Just went to have a tour and this place is so unclean. It smells awful. And it was dark, messy and dirty. Don't really know how anyone could leave there dog there. Seems like if your comfortable with all that you must be an owner who's dog lives outside. If you have an indoor dog highly don't recommend this place at all. read more

A recent move and search for new boarding spot sparked this long-overdue review of Wonder Dog Ranch. For several years, I boarded my anxious little guy here and never had a negative to say about the staff or the facility. One of the toughest parts about moving out of the area was leaving this place behind. The staff is friendly and communicative. I love that someone is present 24/7. They were always available and gave me updates on my little guy whenever I called. They seem very active in the community, promoting pet-friendly activities and donating to pet-related charities. It's a good feeling, being able to leave your dog with people that you trust. I'm missing that feeling right now! read more

I love wonder dog ranch! I used to work at a big pet store chain that had a boarding facility and doggy day care so when I needed to board my dog I would take him there and even with my employee discount it would cost me about $300 because they charge extra for everything! and working there I knew that he wasn't getting as much attention as he needed. It was all very impersonal. I just took my new dog for a 2 night stay at wonder dog and it was like dropping him off at a friends house! They make you and your pet feel so comfortable and welcome! and you definitely can't beat the price because they don't charge ridiculous fees for the extras. my little fur baby came out tired and happy! I'm so glad to know that I have a place I can take him where he feels safe and has fun! I definitely recommend wonder dog to anyone who wants their pet treated like family! read more

Wonder Dog Ranch (WDR) is the greatest. Our dog is so happy to be there, just like kids who love going off to school, he's off to WDR to have a fun play day with his doggy pals and Kevin. Kevin is a knowledgeable canine professional who knows so much about everything "dog related". He has taught me a lot about dog's and their behavior, and how to handle canines. He is understanding about busy professionals (after all he is one) and is willing to work with you as long as you communicate with him. I see some comments about cleanliness...but again, just like kids, so they come home clean if they've had a wonderful day playing with their friends? A little dirty, to me, means he had a great day playing with his friends. We do daily dog care with Kevin and trust him strongly enough to also have him be our "go to" professional for boarding when we are out of town. I highly recommend WDR, and Kevin and Brenda are also such good people that they also help support the community in many ways! read more

Kevin and Brenda are so good to us and our dog Champ. Ours is a super high energy mini pitbull, he's a smaller dog but most places won't take him due to breed restrictions. Kevin not only took him in but even made sure our guy gets a walk to let out some of that energy. Wonder Dog Ranch is AMAZING!!! We researched 3-4 other boarding places for our little guy before our vet recommended Wonder Dog Ranch and we are so happy that we found this perfect place for him to have a short day care stay or an extended boarding experience if we have to go out of town. Kevin & Brenda are the nicest people you could ever imagine and they truly care for each & every one of the dogs that stay with them. Our little dog has gone on short overnight trips with us before, but when we can't take him and we have to leave him with somebody, it's really heart breaking & tough more so on us than him. Kevin & Brenda not only made him feel welcome, they also made us feel calm & relaxed in the process. They have you fill out a very detailed application which we loved so we know they are conscious about what types of dogs they take in under their care. They have a very large facility with play, sleeping & lounge areas. It looks & feels like home to our little guy while he's there and they do send you updates & pictures or video via Twitter and/or email. As a rescue, our dog is very standoffish & shy, but after staying there for only one day, he made a lot of friends & he truly enjoyed staying at such a wonderful place.
