Always love seeing support. Their doggy day camp area is quite spacious in comparison to what I've seen at the big franchise stores so that's a plus. It also looks like there's a good amount of enrichment for your four legged friends too. They also have those dog cookies/treats for your pup's Birthday or other celebrations and the sales and deals they have are actually really affordable and much cheaper than what I've seen at some other pet shops. I'm talking under $10, where I've seen some go for almost $20. There's also a little treat bag station where you can pick and choose what treats you like to get for your dog too. They also have other pet supplies like toys, leashes, collars, etc. In the corner, I believe it's the owner's own pets but they have chinchillas, a blue tongue skink, I believe a leopard gecko, and some tarantulas. SUPER cool to look at and you know, would be neat if they also had some reptile gear to sell here (cough cough wink wink). This past weekend I brought my cat in for a bath & nail trim. My cat's pretty good with taking bath, he's not too crazy, he actually enjoys the water after a while.he doesn't let me trim his nails so I often bring him in, I hadn't been here before but the previous morning I had dropped off my mothers cat (who mind you, when I picked her up- noticed her butt was wet as if she hasn't been dried off completely from her bath) I dropped him off at 8am. Didn't hear anything until I called round 12:20pm. She said he'll be ready in 20 minutes- so I got there about 30 minutes later. This was my cats nails after I picked him up.. I got home horrified! I went back to speak to them and show them my cat- they said he "must have been clawing at the crate" . I'm not sure what happened but I don't know MY cat to be one to claw himself out of somewhere that he bleeds? Very strange and not happy with the results, respectfully we will not be returning. read more

Initially we found them looking for a place that would be comfortable shaving her due to a medical reason from our vet. They handled that situation with such care and gave us tips to help make sure her coat grew back to its fullest. Ever since then this place has been a go to! Any husky owner knows that grooming a husky is a daunting task. Our dog has given a couple other groomers a challenge. He has anxiety about grooming, especially his face being trimmed. The people at Dog Zone have handled him better than anyone else. I have had two bad experiences in a row with this grooming salon. First time in it was over $100 when it was supposed to be $76. When I dropped off, I asked how much it would be to clip some for my dogs left cheek and they said oh don't worry about it, we'll take care of it. Well, they took care of it by charging me. Also, they didn't clip the nails. Next time, I spoke to them on phone in advance and in person about making sure their nails were cut back. Both dogs have white nails, and you can see the quick easily. Again, the nails are barely tipped, and the dogs are still with super long nails. I won't be going again, when I try to confirm pricing on the phone after the first visit, they were cagey about it. The lady on the phone said it depends on who handles them. I said all I want is a bath and what the bath comes with. But they kept trying to upsell me and it just pissed me off and now they've lost a customer. read more

Came here as a first time customer recently to get my pup a wash and cut. My dog came back cute and groomed and in less time than I was told to expect which is all good. The only thing I'll say is the staff is not very informative. There were no list of options or packages really to choose from or pricing for that matter. This last visit he was real dirty/ dusty and had been chewing up his lower back by his tail and I felt so bad because his back looked real Irritated. We've been coming here for a year and a half and always loved their work on our dog. However 2 weeks ago the haircut was horrible! It wasn't even. He looked like a stray! There were tons of longer hair that looked like they might have misses the spot completely! I paid $70 but had to redo it myself. Been a regular customer of The Dog Zone since 2011 and still very happy with their services! They're conviniently located walking distance to Old Town Monrovia so if you want to kill some time, you can always do some shopping or grab a bite to eat somewhere while you're waiting. Called them on Friday and got an appointment for Saturday morning (the following day) for 2 of my Shih Tzus, Cinnamon & Mochi. Sundae didn't need grooming so she got to come with us to eat breakfast at one of the local cafes. Dropped them off at 8:00am sharp and received a call at 9:58am that both were done! Two happy dogs got the haircuts that we asked for, came out smelling like berries, had their nails cut, and had a bandana around their necks. The Dog Zone is so much better than your typical PetSmart groomer and they charge us less too! (PetSmart charges by the breed of dog and it was $55++ for a Shih Tzu and your dog is there ALL DAY). Here it's $43 for bath & full grooming and $25 for bath & trim. (The prices vary per dog) I've also recommended The Dog Zone to my coworker (Sonny & Teddy "Maltipoos" Maltese-Poodles) and my aunt (Murphy the Bichon Frise) and both have also switched groomers and are regulars now too. :) read more

My baby is quite sensitive and timid since he had been abandoned twice and possible abused before I adopted him. The dog zone staffs really did a good job to make him feel comfortable. I signed up for the monthly maintenance services after trying their services several times. For $50 a month, we go once a week to get a bath, nail trimming and ear clearing with extra teeth cleaning service ($10/visit). The price is amazing compared to everywhere I have been to in the pasadena area. And the quality of service has been consistently amazing. I just got a hair trim for my Oliver before the holiday and I am super happy about the result. They also have nice peanut butter cup treats and peanut butter lollipop with raw hide. read more

Took my overly fluffy cat Riggs here for his first ever grooming! I've always had issues with his incredibly thick and plush undercoat as he's an outdoor cat and dead leaves and sticks tend to tangle in his fur leaving it matted if I didn't keep up with his constant brushing. Well I couldn't keep up and he had some pretty bad matted fur all along his belly. The Dog Zone did a wonderful job trimming him and shaving off his matted fur while still leaving him his nice coat to keep warm! He came home so soft and smelling nice and they told me he did a great job cooperating with his grooming. I couldn't be happier and it's such a relief to know Riggs is comfortable and not being bogged down by those awful tangles!
