I've decided to switch groomers :( it has nothing to do with their service but more so their arbitrary pricing. For my dog I've always paid $70-80 not including tip for a full groom. This time I went the lady said it'd be $110. I told her what I've always been charged in the past but she said she couldn't do anything and it's because my dog is big (she's been coming here since she's been full grown so it's not like she suddenly got bigger). If their rates changed then that's a different story but the lady seemed to just come up with an arbitrary number Edit: Tian, thank you for responding and I agree with your version of events (I honestly didn't realize the last time I've been in was over a year ago!). That said, I do think that the situation could have been handled better, or maybe there was a simple communication barrier. It would have been simple for the staff member to look up my account just as you did, and explain the change to me. Instead she couldn't really tell me why there was such a large price difference leaving me feeling like the number she gave was arbitrary. My dog, Lucky, never sits still while we cut her hair, so we decided to take her to a groomers to have her professionally groomed. We've always had a good experience here. The groomers take good care of her. The receptionist, Olivia, is good at explaining different styles to us. Recently, we've been getting the summer cut for Lucky. We usually select the full grooming package, which comes out to be around $60 for us. It includes a cut and wash. She always comes home smelling so nice and feeling so soft. One morning, my dog decided to take a massive poop, jump in it and spread it all around the kennel. I tried getting an appointment at a neighboring business, but they were booked until late afternoon. I quickly searched for a dog groomer and Magic Groomer popped up. I called and was greeted by a nice gentleman welcoming walk-ins. Fantastic! I loaded my poop dog in the car and headed over there. I had her in a crate and the staff quickly offered their help as soon as I entered/arrived at the business. I hesitated taking my dog here because the business looked run down from the outside. However, once inside, my views changed. It was clean, open and nicely air conditioned. They gave me an estimate of an hour, but was done in 40 minutes. I brought my dog in for the full grooming package. I asked the lady what was included in it, and she stated that it was haircut, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, brushing, and anal gland expression. This is also stated on their price list. They did a good job with my puppy's haircut, however I strongly believe they don't do everything that they supposedly offer in the full package. The first thing that made me suspect this is that my puppy had a strong fishy smell a few days after her grooming session. This is clearly because they didn't do the anal gland expression. Another thing is that her ears were not cleaned and her nails were still long. I was really disappointed because I paid so much but they don't even do their job properly. Prices have been bumped up a lot as well due to "inflation". I better start learning how to groom my puppy myself now ;( read more
