I've always enjoyed everything petsmart have to offer but after my first experience taking my dogs to the pet hotel for day camp I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I showed them medical history paperwork of my dog that I got from the pound. First of all if he's from the pound then obviously he's neutered and up to date on shots. The techs thought he wasn't neutered (they left the scrotum) and kenneled him the whole day. Why in the hell did I pay for him to go to day camp just to be kenneled when I could have kenneled him at home for free there were more issues but I think y'all get the picture. read more

I have two small dogs (12-15lbs) and we've been regulars here for a while. I've never had an issue with the staff prior to this one in the grooming department. This time, all of a sudden, they can't do one of the dogs nails because "he won't stand still." It was all new faces. The previous staff had no issues at all and were very polite about it. The only pleasant part of my visit was an employee that told me that it's a new staff, and recommended a different place that's better and where the people "aren't prissy." I will not be going back. It's not a good sign when other employees are aware that a certain department is not doing well. read more

If I could give zero stars I would, I brought my puppy in with an appointment for a $37 haircut, nail trim and bath at 2:30pm. We were told it would be 3-4 hours which was fine because we understood how busy it was. We waited the full 4 hours and still no update so we asked, our dog had not even been given a hair cut or trimmed their nails for the whole time only given a shower. They told us one more hour on top of the 4 she had already been there. Then we were charged $31 for just a shower and once i asked how much it would be for the next grooming appointment they said the next time she would need a $50 haircut instead. Do not recommend if the service will be this bad. read more

When I go out of town I leave my Princess Audrey here to stay in one of their cat cottages. The attendants are so good with our pets. The cottages are kept clean & a log is kept for each pet detailing if they ate or just having difficulties adjusting. (Of course they do. No matter what they do not know if we are coming back for them) Any time the pet owner calls they can give them info on how their pet is doing by referring to the log I bring her treats which they give to her, her "baby" giraffe was with her. I could spend a lot more money & they would not have any better care. Highly recommend PetSmart Hotel on Stephanie in Henderson. Awesome read more

I popped into PetSmart today looking for a natural product that would help in the treatment of lice which my pups got from boarding. I had some ideas in mind from the veterinarian who treated my pups. I also did a decent amount of internet research. I found my way down the aisle where the products were kept. I browsed for a while and then I attempted to find an associate as I had questions. I wasn't able to locate one so I used my dear friend Google to answer my questions. After consulting with the internet again, I selected a product and proceeded to check out. Check out was uneventful. One register open, a few people in line, but it moved quickly. PerSmart earns the "meh" 3 star review. They had the product I needed, pricing was a bit steep, and customer service could be improved. read more

This is so embarrassing I just have to share, so let's play a math game to prove a point of how petty this experience was and what customer service doesn't look like. The kids turtle was out of meal worms so we hop in the truck and run the boy to the closest pet store to get some more. There were three containers of 50 each left on the shelf, so out of habit you have to open and check if they are alive or not... the first two containers were all dead, the last container only had 3 alive and the rest were dead (assuming 47 dead if simple math still works). I asked the young lady working there if they had any alive feeder worms in the back and she said no. Seeing the disappointment look in my sons eyes I asked him how many worms Bowser usually eats, he said 3 to 4. Ok, this could work for tonight anyway, so I asked the young lady how much for the 3 live worms. She told me to meet her up front at the register and she would ask the manager. When the young lady came to the register she said that the manager approved a 10% off for the purchase so here comes the simple math... it cost $6.99 for 50 meal worms, so $7/50 = $.14 each. Three alive so 3X$.14 = $.42 total, I was thinking that is a fair price to give a turtle a meal and buy a few days to get more so we could go home, however... 10% off of $7 is $6.30, 3 worms for $6.30 is $2.10 a worm! I shared this simple logic to the cashier, she made the comment that I must be really good at math and I had to laugh. I said no thanks and I asked to speak to the manager (for a second opinion involving logic) but the manager would not come out of the back office and sent the cashier back out and said 50% off but that was final! I said thanks but no thanks, not going to pay over a dollar a piece for a live meal worm, the son and I laughed about it as we left the store. The lady put the dead worms container bank on the shelf as we left. As a courtesy to anyone reading this, the Walmart in the same parking lot has the same worms in a container of 40 (actually all alive) for $2.24 in the sporting goods section, we grabbed two and will be buying the worms from Walmart going forward. If anything my son got a good life lesson in simple math and how not to treat a customer that up until this point has spent quite a bit of money in the store. read more

The employees here truly care about your furry friend. They go out of their way to make your shopping experience easy. They do returns without hassle. You will get an in store credit without a receipt but they are friendly and accomodating. There is also a day care (I've never used it), a training center(again I've never used it), and a vet, banfield, not my favorite vet. There's also an adoption center and you can adopt cats, dogs and sometimes rabbits. My one complaint is that they still sell other animals. As a pet store 5hey should only carry supplies, or animals up for adoption. They should not carry hamster, lizards, birds, fish, etc. I would definitely give 5 stars if they ended this barbaric practice. Other than that though, it's a nice location in a safe area to buy pet food. read more

I've personally had great experiences here. As a wounded veteran, I can be tough to handle, the workers here have been very nice and always seem to smile and help me and my service animal out. After a trip,I arrived late to pick up my dog when the store was closed, Brad, a worker there opened up the shop and let me get my dog after hours. I can't explain how much this meant to me. My dog is everything to me and to leave him there overnight would of killed me. Thankfully Brad called the manager and followed policy and used common sense to help me out. I love this store, there are plenty of other stores around me but I go to this one 30 minutes away just because of the workers here. Stef, the dog trainer, is fantastic. She has help me with all the wrong habits I've allowed with my service animal. She's great, always answers my text, is very flexible and knowledgeable when it comes to her job. The best thing about her, she has the strength to correct me, I can be overbearing and I need a kick in the butt sometimes. She will very professionally correct my wrongs and help me with my communication with my service animal. One of a kind, I love her to death. read more

My daughter has been saving up and begging for a pet bird because one of our friends has one. I said no over and over always explaining the responsibility of owning a bird. She had given up hope! I totally surprised her after a family lunch at cafe rio and we went over to Petsmart. Nathan at Petsmart was great. He listened to all our little stories and and she was so excited when she met "Jacob Franklin". Her new little Green Cheek Conure. His nickname is "LilJ". She was so surprised! Nathan knew everything we needed to set him up and we couldn't have had a better more memorable experience. Pets are family and apparently she will have Lil J for a VERY long time! I'm thankful she saved her money for a lifelong friend and Petsmart was the place! read more

I must say I'm not one to write bad a review. I try to use Yelp to help businesses and spread positivity. So the fact that I'm writing this negative review right now blows my mind. I used to be regular that came to this location before covid. My puppy loved the day camp there. The last few times I've tried to call the day camp on random days I never can get someone to answer the phone. Today was my last attempt after the terrible customer service I just received from the Stephanie store manager. I tried to call to get the updated hours and try to book for day camp... I've attempted to talk to someone for the last 30 mins when each phone call quotes you around 4-10 mins of wait time. After the 3rd attempt I called a different extension, and the store manager(at the time I didn't even know it was the manager) answered and I told her the situation and said she can just try to transfer me over there again and that they're just busy. Slightly frustrated I let her transfer me, waited another 10 mins and nobody would answer. At this point I was pretty frustrated so I called back the last extension that someone answered and it was the same lady that transferred me before. I explained to her that they still haven't answered and it's been 30 mins and I've called many times, I said I need to speak to the manager. She then explained to me that she is the manager and that they haven't Answered because they're busy and the camp is full this weekend. So I wasted the last 30 mins trying to call when this manager already knew they were booked and could look herself the first time I called frustrated and she decided to do nothing about it. She basically just said that they haven't answered because they're busy and that I can't bring my dog this weekend because they're booked. She cared nothing about how bad this looked on the store, she didn't care to try to fix anything. She just had the I don't care attitude. I will never go to this location again. I can't support a store thats management doesn't care about the customers at all. read more

worst puppy training classes in the valley. at 4 months old my puppy would sit, come, letdown and play only receiving the verbal "good girl" and some loving runs on her head and back. now after the class she will only do what's asked if treats are involved causing a nightmare at home. the classes are only based off giving your dog extra snacks and now that's all she looks for. ohh and before she would do as asked just for the additional attention but now if she isnt hungry she wont listen at all. Always have issues finding all the dog food for my 3 fur babies. Always lines of 4+ people in line, very slow for checking out.

A pet store that puts customer service first. I was out of town and needed some help with getting a Rx filled for my pet and Leslie really went out of her way to help me. Instead of making excuses or saying it could not be done she went to a great deal of difficulty for me. Thank you so very much Leslie and PetSmart for hiring compassionate, friendly helpful employees. read more

I made an appointment for my dog to get groomed at 9:30 am. I was told by the groomer that she would call when my dog was ready in 3-4 hours. Around 2:30 (5 hours later), I started calling the store to see what was going on with my dog. I called for 2 hours and there was no answer. I therefore had to drive to the store and ask why my dog was not done. Only to be told that my dog was NEXT on the table. It was 4:30 and my dog hadn't been started yet. I expressed to the groomer that she should have called with an update. She was extremely apologetic and I am an understanding person and told her it was okay. However when I picked my dog, I was given $10 off my invoice. After 8 1/2 hours of waiting for my dog to finish and no update, $10 was given off of the bill. Are you kidding me? I have been coming to this Petsmart getting my dog groomed since I first got her (that's 11 years) and because of their poor attempt of rectifying this horrible experience, I will not be returning. Next time you make a patron wait a full work day for their dog with no courtesy call, you ASK how you can fix it or better yet, waive the bill! Unacceptable. read more

They "couldn't" cut my dog's nails, "because she pooped and peed twice". They also left my dog's butt covered in poop. They were VERY nice when we walked in, which is the only reason I'm leaving a two star review, instead of the one they deserve. If you're nervous working with dogs, you shouldn't be working with pets. We have never had a problem with PetSmart cutting their nails before, which is why I'm quite shocked they couldn't handle my 20 pound dog. read more

Wow! You are not doing stock checks for a customer who calls in...and you have to be RUDE about it? Seriously? 1st, WHY aren't you doing stock checks? Really at this point, there is no excuse for this but bad customer service. How long does it take to do a stock check to save a customer a long trip to your store only to find out you really don't have the item even though it says online that you do? I purposely called 5 minutes after the store opened because I knew it would not be busy and that would probably be the best time to find out information but I got an employee who thinks it's okay to be rude to customers. Her tone said it all for me and so I will just shop one of the Petsmart locations that don't mind doing stock checks (and yes, even now, they are out there) and who treat their long time, frequent customers like they have some value. I suggest the manager of this store review good customer service with their employees. Might increase sales. read more

I'm so disgusted with the employees here. I had to just drop everything and leave. My brother was asking an associate a question. The associate decided to make a comment on my brothers appearance. He said " didn't your mother tell you not to wipe your food on your clothes.... Next time you shouldn't do that it's disgusting. First of all , my brother has a disability so he does things differently than other people so don't you dare judge someone on their appearance ever again. Grooming review - do yourself and your fur babies a favor and stay FAR away. We have yet to find a new groomer after relocating across town, lots of suggestions but a lot of them are booked so far out and my Goldens needed to get in asap! Called Petsmart and they were able to get us in quickly.. I'll admit, I am a bit picky about how I like my older golden's cut done. If you know the breed well enough, you know what I'm talking about when it comes to grooming their "feathers" and so on. My young golden doesn't need trims yet and just goes in for the standard bath, nail trim and ear cleaning. Easy breezy. Not for this place. Upon walking in the place is complete chaos, the guy checking me in couldn't and wouldn't even bother to answer my questions properly, didn't know the correct prices and was so incredibly rude I felt bad leaving my pets behind with him. After picking them up and paying over $100 not including tip everything was a disaster. The girl who groomed my older boy who was supposed to be "the golden professional" hacked him up so bad he was I recognizable, rather than feathering him she chopped it all short. (Again - golden speak I know) my female had the same amount of dirt in her ears at drop off and when I asked if they could have a bandana, the guy looked at me like I was a nut. It's been a few months and my boy still is in the awkward stage of growing his fur back out. It's really hard to bathe two 80lb dogs at home, the clean up is even worse. Throw in a toddler in the mix and it's a nightmare. I would rather deal with that than bring my dogs back here again. Horrible first impression. read more

Walked in only looking for some sour apple spray so my little pup would stop destroying everything in his sight... And I had a very pleasant experience here. I was wandering the aisles looking for my item, and a store employee saw I was struggling and immediately came to my assistance. He knew exactly where the item I was looking for was. Also he was very knowledgable about the spray and how I should use it. Surprise, surprise. This employee was also a puppy trainer. He told me all about the puppy training classes Petsmart offers and helped get me signed up. Also got me a discount on the classes! Pretty sweet. I've always loved Petsmart for all my pet products. The staff is super helpful and all pet lovers, obviously. And it's always very clean! Being able to pet other people's dogs doesn't suck either. read more

Filthy store. Today was my last visit. They may as well be out of business as far as I'm concerned. I've been shopping with PetSmart for well over 20 years. Last night I saw bugs in a bag of cat food I had purchased a few weeks ago. I was using up the end of another bag of the food, and that one got infested as well. This was disgusting and repulsive to say the least. I've lived where I live for over 5 years and have never seen more than 3 bugs in that entire time. Last night I saw hundreds. I'm still completely creeped out by the experience. I took both of them back and they actually gave me a hard time about a refund. I have a bag of bugs I collected, and another closet full of them at home, and they want to quibble. Fine. Two can play at that game. I paid 8.1% tax on FOUR bags of cat food, and had to return two. The older lady with the badly permed frizzy hair is a total bitch. She's been at this location for some time and she has two modes: Fake friendly, or total in your face bitch. I guess she keeps her job because she shows up. That's about all that's required these days. I once argued with her about their stupid complicated receipts and she said ''They're easy to understand!'' YOU WORK HERE, BITCH! If I worked there it would be easy for me to understand too, du-uh. This store is filthy. Look below the shelves where they keep the food and you will see YEARS of dust, dirt, cobwebs and filth. No wonder the store is bug infested. Apparently no one cleans properly in this store, and it's now old so it's infested with bugs. As an end note, PLEASE do not take your dogs to the Day Care here. It's awful. There's a bored employee who stands around and sprays the dogs with a water bottle when they bark. So it sure was a good idea to put these dogs behind a glass window so strangers can walk by all day, because dogs never bark at strangers, right?? It's almost as if they want to punish the dog. I've never seen an employee interact or play with the dogs, it's just them standing around looking like they hate their lives and ready to pounce on any poor dog who does what a dog does naturally, bark. For me, PetSmart isn't an option anymore. Clean your filthy, bug-infested stores. read more

We left both our dog and cat here for 6 nights. There was a TV in the cat room going 24/7 (sorry, what cat likes to listen to people noise constantly?), the room temperature was hot - not even 72 degrees felt more like 80... I told the staff my cat is a picky eater and I brought her own food and told them she likes her food fresh. I explained what fresh meant: resealing the ziplock seal on the bag of food, if she doesn't eat all of her food dump the food back in the bag and pour some more (heh sneaky sneaky), and lastly clean the food bowl at least every 2-3 days. When I picked her up she was half the weight she was when we brought her in. She was very lethargic, unresponsive, shaky. One of the staff that walked me back to get her had told me she had not eaten for 5 days....!!!!!!!!!!!!?!???!?!?! I NEVER got a phone call, nothing. I was so angry. They wouldn't even discount her stay. They didn't follow my feeding instructions. I was and still am livid about the ordeal. This was back in July (2012), the week of the 4th. It took her a month to get back to normal plus a trip to our vet. We've never had issues with boarding our dog here. But cats, forget it. Never again. I'd recommend All About Cats Veterinary Clinic. read more

I shop here for cat food. Staff is always polite, however I hate the check out because I view, constantly, how very poorly the dogs are treated while being groomed. I went in to pick up an online order and while I was there I decided to pick up some other things for my pup, when I got to the check out all the associates were really nice and helpful. I told the lady at the register that I was also there to pick up an online order for a Halloween costume, she said I will have to get my manager. When the manager came up she was very rude and told me she cancelled the order because they were out of stock. I then told her when I purchased it that this was the only store it was IN STOCK at. She got really snippy with me. I would not have driven all the way there if I didn't expect to pick this item up. I was very upset at the way she talked to me and the fact that she cannot keep up with her inventory of items. Also, I had other items in my order and instead of her refunding me for that one item she cancelled my WHOLE Order, meaning I would have to go again online and repurchase the other items. I did not catch her name and I am not sure if she is the store manager or if she was just a shift manager. My overall experience at the petsmart was terrible because of this lady. I like that they offer a treat time for an additional fee so that the dogs get a snack while they are there. I love picking my dog up and getting the "pawgress report" to see how he did for the day. The store itself is okay . But I took my dog in for grooming , and I'm not happy with it and he wasn't either but maybe because it was his first time . His hair is so uneven and roughly cut . I expected him to look different when I picked him up a whole 4 hours later but he just looked the same only without bangs . I'm not one to leave a bad review but when it comes to my animals then I'm not going to let something go. This is the first time I took my cat to Petsmart for grooming. Our other groomer moved and we needed to get our cat in because he was starting to get matted so I took him there. The groomer didn't listen to me at all. I told her a lions cut but leave the tail long and his mane longer and boots. He's also always been praised for how good he is at our other groomers. The lady called to tell us he was ready to be picked up and all she did was complain about him. I go to pick him up and they shaved his tail completely, his mane was uneven, his feet were horrible and he had cuts all over his tail. They didn't blow dry him. He was shaking and he seemed traumatized. All she kept saying is that he kept peeing. I'm not going to take him to the vet for the cuts and to make sure he's ok.
