I am still in total shock! First let me say that I used to use the Petco Blue Diamond location in Las Vegas. Over the last two weeks I left 4 messages asking them to please call me back to get one of my pets groomed. This store does not call back, even though the manager of the department says they are supposed to return all calls. Well I was finally at the store today to get my 5lb. toy poodle groomed. Now I am handicapped so I sat my dog down on counter for only a few seconds. Well the groomer immediately tried to shove their collar over my hands and my dogs head, then he suddenly ripped my dog out of my hands telling my its against the NEW policy to set pets on counter. My mistake I did not see the new sticker. However after ripping my dog out of my hands he continued to yell at me while holding my dog in the air in one hand. I immediately asked for my dog back, I told him I'm not putting up with how he was abusing my dog nor his total attitude towards me. Then he tells me "Well, its your own damn fault!" There were two other customers waiting in line behind me. One woman asked him why hes being a total jerk. "That's it, I'm not grooming your dog either for calling me a jerk!" So two of us walked out because of him having a bad morning and screaming at people, abusing our dogs. I called the store from the parking lot and got a female store manager. I explained everything to her and even went as far as making sure she knows I am a letter writer and will be writing to the corporate office "customerrelations@petco.com because she barely spoke. She hinted she would have a talk with the groomer and she was very sorry I walked out before talking to her. I won't hold my breath thinking she will actually follow up on the complaint. One of the worst retail experiences I've had in a long time. I went to the Petco in Henderson and the front of the store was completely disorganized. A line of customers was forming while the manager on duty sat at the front counter texting on her phone. She didn't greet anyone, didn't acknowledge the line, and didn't make any effort to help people who were clearly waiting. For reference, the manager was a blonde overweight woman in her mid 50's working the front counter during my visit. I asked for her name so I could follow up with corporate about the experience and she refused to give it, which tells you a lot about the accountability at this location. Customers were standing there waiting while she stayed focused on her phone like the store was closed or something. No urgency, no customer service, nothing. A manager sets the tone for the entire store, and if this is the example being set, it explains why the experience felt so chaotic and unprofessional. Petco corporate seriously needs to look at what's happening at the Henderson location. Customers should not be ignored while staff sit at the front texting. read more

I stopped inside the store today and picked out a cat tree for my new kitty. She naturally enjoys corners, playing, and sitting up high, or in confined areas. So a 3 story tree was purrfect! The friendly and very strong staff member even carried the tree to my car - thank you!!! Once I brought home the new gift, I sat the kitty in the top shelf to acclimate her and she was so happy! I've seen her sit and play, jump, run, hide in the cubby, and she is on the top shelf now. I got her the fully carpeted tree with the big rectangular perch on top and a toy hanging in the middle above the cubby. She loves it so much! Well-worth the price! I usually take my dog to another place for grooming, but I was never satisfied with the results. My pup doesn't like having her nails trimmed, so they would always leave her nails too long, and she never really smelled like she had a proper bath. I decided to try a different option, and I loved it! My dog smelled amazing, they were able to trim her nails, and I was very happy with the care they gave her. UPDATE 4/6/22: Wanted to chime in and provide an update, since I haven't stopped by this Petco in what seems like forever ago. I get my cat food at the grocery store now but I forgot to pick some up during this week's grocery trip. Good thing I still had half a bag before I stopped by here! My cats (twins) are now full grown adults - in fact they will be turning 5 this week. They now prefer dry kibble over wet food, which they used to like when they were kittens. I try to give them wet food from time to time but they just don't like it these days. I found what I wanted and the cashier that ringed me up was friendly, but this Petco, while a great store, is not in the best parking lot. Getting in is easy, the hard part is getting out. If you try to exit onto Horizon Ridge, especially during rush hour, it will take forever to leave the parking lot. I feel bad for not swinging by here more often, as I have a Petco Pals rewards account. I'll try to come back again when I can. read more

Keep in mind, we never had one, so I was asking questions. Such as - how do you make the snake comfortable with you - as I did not want him biting my 5 year old. I asked if it was after he ate (thinking he had a fully belly and was content). Thomas giggled and said "Who is handling the snake....I am concerned now." HOW INSULTING!!! As if I was asking a stupid question. We ended up getting the snake, because he said this AFTER we were done paying, but we will not be back. I was a little nervous scheduling with another groomer for my fur girls but we are traveling & they were in dire need of grooming! We are already in the PetCo system, but little doggies are fussy!! Appointments were easy to find even during the holidays. You can schedule in line using the PetCo app or one of the groomers can schedule you. Tyler was extremely choppy with his grooming style including leaving my dog bald in spots and chopping off a quarter of her ear on just one side. The store manager Hunter was great in getting my complaint addressed but when Tyler came out to talk to me, he seemed to blame it on miscommunication even though there were several errors to the cut well beyond just the length (or lack thereof). On 9/29/22 I took my dog to get groomed at Petco in Henderson, NV. There was an "accident" and she was "cut" and transported to a Petco location with a veterinary. When I was called all the lady was able to tell me was that she was not a veterinarian and that they would be calling me to let me know her condition or that I could call them. My husband drove to the location and someone told him she was ok and it was just a nick. After he left they called me so I could give them permission to do surgery. The wound was on her arm and her skin was apparently hanging off. I didn't get an apology over the phone or when I went to pick her up. They just handed her to me like "you're welcome, here's your dog." Her arm looks a mess from the procedure and her entire chest and neck is swollen, red, and very bruised! She is 14 years old and we have never experienced anything like this before. She is a calm old dog, and she is going through this sad recovery from this traumatic experience. I took her to our own vet for a checkup, and she was scared of everyone. She did not want to leave me when I had to hand her over to the vet, and turned away when people tried to pet her. I am told that she may have to be given some sedation for future grooming sessions to calm her down and not cause her stress. I am so upset and heartbroken about this whole situation. read more

I referred my friends who are visiting Las Vegas to this Petco on green valley for their dog. How embarrassing, they did not do a good job and my friends were very unhappy! The groomer said the dog had hair that changed direction. My friends have had the dog for over a year and it had not one haircut that looked even similar to this. I called and complained and asked to speak to the manager and asked him if he would like me to send a picture and he said no. That seems odd. DO NOT book here for grooming. Amanda was the one who cut my dog's hair, we left, we gave her time and after an hour or so we came by to just check and we were surprised. We experienced how Amanda grabbed his head and shake it really hard just because he was moving. HE IS A DOG. You cannot expect him or any other dog to stay still when you are grooming or doing something that may be uncomfortable to them. If you do not have the patience to work with dogs THEN DONT. We pay for the experience, we leave our dog thinking he is not going to get mistreated. Very unsatisfactory experience. I will never come back here. Petco at Green Valley Parkway you failed miserably today. Being a loyal customer for many years, you found a way to miss an opportunity to correct a mistake you made today. So here is the background to my frustration and disappointment today. Ordered a 30lb bag of Royal Canine dog food for medium dogs. Received the notification that the order was ready for pick up. Well it was close to closing time so I decided I would stop by after work and pick up the order. Fast forward to today. I just got off work and headed to this location to pick up my ONLINE order. I got to the store and was greeted by a female cashier who attempted to take care of my order. After she looked at the online order bins, she found nothing and proceeded to the back of the store to look for the order. After about 3 minutes or so, she came back and said that another associate would be bringing it out. I waited and waited and waited. 13 minutes have elapsed so I proceeded to walk to the aisle where my dog food would be located. I saw all the stock was low but hey I'm good because I ordered my dog food ONLINE. I headed back to the cashier area and waited another 7 minutes. Finally, a male associate, who I k ow later to be the store manager looks through the online order bin and realized my order was not there. He proceeded to tell me that he saw the bag on the cart earlier and mentioned that my ordered must have mistakenly went to another customer. My question is how is that possible when the name of the buyer goes on the product?!? Is there not a Quality Assurance control person for this? Are they not trained to do such? The male manager proceeded to make a few calls around the valley to find the product I order. This whole time while he was doing that, I assumed he would that and after another 4-6 minutes he came out and told me that there was another Petco on Marks Rd that had one bag left. I asked he could find another store more specifically the Eastern/Serene store. The associate told me he sees 8 on their inventory so I said yes please I would like one bag. After 5 minutes on the phone with aforementioned store, he said the only available is the one on Marks Dr. I mentioned with all the trouble I have gone through could they have the order transferred here or delivered to me at my residence. Associate no they cannot do that and that store to store transfers were not allowed. No I was getting a bit perturbed so to control my anger I just left with nothing but a sorry sir we apologize for what happened. Now thats great but how but we get all paid up and step up your game as a failed business with my order getting screwed up. No all I got was excuses. This was your time to make it up to me, but that never happened. After about 9 minutes of leaving Petco very very disappointed, I called said store and guess who answers the phone? Yup the store manager, the one who had no clue how to handle a disgruntled customer. What he should have done was compensated me for my lost time. Time I will never get back. Something like "Mr P we have a few vouchers for xx% off on your next purchase and oh your next dog food will be free. Now that would have been the best scenario. I asked for the manager and I got the male cashier as he identified himself and asked for compensation. He proceeded to tell me could and again apologized. I beg and pleaded for something, but nothing. I asked for his supervisor and was told his general manager was not in and her name is Nicholette. He took my name and said he would call me back. Well up until now I haven't heard from her. When I got home I searched for the corporate office and called. Now this is what I know of Petco. Total customer commitment. They asked for my order number and gave it to them right way. The agent at the help desk help me through and offered a free bag of dog food on my next purchase plus a variety of vouchers to use. Now corporate did it right. The Green Valley Store needs some customer service training especially to keep their loyal customers. Store manager next time make an executive decision and take care of your customer. General Manager you should have called me. I left my name and number. No call meant you allowed me to go to the next level up to take care of this simple fix to your mistake. Consumers, think twice before coming here. You may not be helped to the fullest. read more

I like this location more than two others that I shop at in town. The location is convenient since it's next to Target. I have my cat food on automatically delivery, but every once in awhile I mess up on my ordering and have to grab some emergency wet food. Did I mention I have a cat? He will kill us if he doesn't have his wet food promptly at 4:30 a.m., earlier if he so fancies and wakes us up. This location has always been clean, organized, and well stocked. I've always found what I needed as far as wet food, hard food, treats, and toys. Pricing is reasonable and I like that they have a rewards program to earn back some of the small fortune we spend on our best feline friend. Cat litter is the only thing I pass on here since it's much cheaper next door at Target. Service has always been good. But the most disappointing thing is the customer service. This Petco location has been my family's go to for years now! The staff is super friendly and has positive energy every time I walk in! When my rabbit passed away, they were able to give us a refund for her bedding and food. I actually sneakily purchased a created gecko that was on sale and Breanna (one of the staff members) was super useful and gave me recommendations for housing for it when I'm out of town. She also gave me her reptile tank for my crested gecko! I have a lot of exotic pets and most of the things I need from them I can get here (like night crawlers for my Axolotl). This is regarding the grooming department. I had Tyler H. He kept talking about how this was his last dog of the day. I explicitly and repeatedly asked that he not shave my dog down and that he just frame the face, not shave it. He gave a hair cut where I can see my dogs skin and shaved his face entirely. He was done with full service wash, blow dry, gland expression, and cut in 30 minutes flat. It was clear that he was ready to leave for the day. If that wasn't bad enough, he handled my dog like a rag doll despite my dog being very docile and non combative. I'm so dissatisfied. Obviously I will not be back, but for other folks, go elsewhere!
