I went in to the Glendale Pet Smart 10 days ago to get my cat's nails clipped. I had checked the website, they did accept walk ins. But when I got there, they said the website was "out of date" and now they required appointments. The first available was today, 10 days later at 8 AM. I waited 20 minutes for them to check me in, the tech came out and announced they needed proof of rabies vaccination. Of course the cat is up to date on all her vaccines, but nobody told me to bring proof. They offered to give her an unnecessary shot for 50 dollars. (How would that have helped? Even if she had been unvaccinated it wouldn't have been effective in 2 minutes!). From the website to the registration to the competency- I won't be back! read more

I have only taken my dog to the groomers there TWICE in 12 months. Both times my dog was in (scheduled) when they opened and it took more than 4 hours both times. This last time - I called after 4 hours and waited for 6 minutes on hold before I drove down there to find out the status. When I showed up they said, "The dryer made him nervous" so we are letting him "chill out" back there before finishing him. I waited in the store for another half hour for them to finish. 2 times - twice I had to wait - twice I was not happy with the service. No three strikes for me thanks. read more

I think this store, it's employees and it's four legged shoppers are the Cat's MEOW ... get it ??? Cats ... meows ??? So we live in this neighborhood and shopped at their other location in the same complex but where Walgreen's is now. What a massive difference! The whole place is cleaner, brighter and full of people who have a pretty good amount of knowledge and time to help me out. I dig this. There have been several times when an employee sees me headed down the cat food aisle , waited to see what brand I pick up and whipped out a coupon for just what's in my hand. Like a coupon stalker ...how great ! The sweet 70 something man at the register who tells me to say "Hello" to my cats gets sweeter every time. I don't think my cats care if I say hello, let alone him but it's thoughtful nevertheless. One of the other girls told me she drives over an hour just to work at this location ..that's also a pretty good sign I cannot help but completely swoon over every super happy, linoleum slipping dog that comes smiling their way through the front doors ... big dogs, little dogs, all equally happy to be out and about. These dogs seem as thrilled to be walking in here as my kids are walking out of school on the first day of summer vacation! There are ways to really torture yourself here too with all the buddies you can adopt ...I met with a very cute and playful cat with about 1/2 of his right ear in tact ...I'm pretty sure we belong together but my other three cats aren't so sure ... so if any one is looking. Bottom line, this is consistently a top notch, furry friend, friendly place to be ! No matter how may legs, feathers or gills you may have. read more

Finally. A petsmart that I really like. And it's huge to boot. So my puppy (well he's 8, but acts like a puppy all day long) has a sensitive tummy. After spending some time at the vet last week, the vet suggested I feed him something a little easier on his tummy. We were out and about for the day anyway, so I wanted to check out some doggy food. Now usually, because he just falls in love with everyone, I don't take him. But this time, on a whim I said what the hey. As we entered the store, initially it shocked the heck outta me...there was actually space to walk around! We headed for the dog food...I had some questions and was easily helped. My only issue...well not really an issue but I know petsmart does this on purpose...what's up with the squeaky toys at the checkout line? I would say this grooming salon does a fine job of keeping your special ones clean and helpful to suggest products at home. I signed up for classes and I must say Mila has become a well behaved Pup. Thank you! It has the Banfield pet hospital which I would not recommend. I take my puppy to the Doggie Day Care in glendale 2-3 times a week. This location has started "curbside" DOGGIE DROP OFF!!! Just pull up, they open your car door....that easy and stress free. My pup loves the doggie day care....she literally pulls me to get in as quick as she can. They also do nail grinding and baths while at camp. More convenience for a busy family. Thank you ! Pet Hotel at this Petsmart is wonderful. We have a small dog and never have to worry about him when we have to board him here. The staff is great and the place is clean and affordable. They walk him and feed him and take him out to play with other small dogs and they keep a file on him while he's there. There's a vet on staff there 24-7 for emergencies and there is always a dog sitter there 24-7 as well. The crates they keep the dogs in are open and extremely spacious, infact they are called condos for the pets. Really great place and not overpriced. This is the only place we will board our pup! read more

Called to say I was running 5 minutes late and Courtney was extremely rude and refused to accommodate me. I understand that everyone being on time is essential to maintaining an efficient schedule, but there should be a 5-10 minute grace period in between appointments. Courtney then proceeded to let me know that she could not fit my dog in at all that afternoon because she was leaving early for personal reasons. After I apologized and said I would re-book my dog's appointment, she hung up on me. The shitty customer service negates any positive experience I have had here in the past. They don't do the best job grooming my dog - but they don't do a terrible job either. However, management should allow time in between appointments so their employees are not stressed and consequently rude to customers. Will be finding another place to spend my money. read more

Brought my 6 pound dog here to get groomed. The stylist was immediately hostile saying "notes say the dog doesn't like getting groomed." Okay, never been told that in the past by any stylist but okay. She comes over to put their leash on him. My dog kept trying to get away form her. After tugging him 3-4 times, the dog snapped at her. In a matter for 30 seconds the stylist determined my 6 pound dog trying to bite her after being pulled a couple times was not groomable. Pathetic that I've never been told about his "dislike" before and one stylist decides to cancel my apt after weeks of waiting for it in a matter of seconds. read more

For being a PetSmart, this location is top notch. My first impression: the employees actually care about animals. Most locations hire workers that are disinterested and more concerned with texting then helping customers. Not here. Every employee has always greeting my poochie pals with a smile and a cookie. There is a large selection of toys, dog food (albeit not high quality) and other accessories here. The aisles are also very large so you can easily navigate the toy section with your furry friend. read more

Took hours getting the paperwork on rabies to get my dogs nail trimmed from vet, got there having called ahead. Called ahead and was told to absolutely come in no problem. I was treated so unbelievably poorly by Nina in grooming I left crying. The one attempt she made to find out file didn't work and she told me to go home and try another day. The man behind her was telling her it was no big deal and he was ready and she was humiliating and condescending to me and said "ya maybe another day" I said do you are saying I need to go back home now? She said yeah. Still shaking. My dogs and I didn't deserve that. My mother was in town visiting and completely dumbfounded by it. I've never bee. Treated that way there before. I now understand the name, "PetSmart" because obviously it is the pets who are smarter!!! I recently called the "PetSmart" located on Alameda in Glendale (CO) to book an appointment for a simple trimming of my puppy's nails. I like to visit "PetSmart" because our puppy is seen by Banfield Vet's for all his physical needs and they do have a large selection of pet products. Setting the appointment was a task as the older gentleman seemed bothered that I asked questions in hopes of being able to get the appointment for later that day (Saturday) but he did set an appointment for the following day (Sunday). Upon arrival I went to the door per the instructions of an employee, as I opened the door I was greeted by a young lady who exclaimed "What Do You Want?" I was taken aback by such an unwelcoming greeting, upon regaining my composure I let her know I do have an appointment and I am following all the instructions given to me by the appointment setter and the employee who lead to this area. At this time she told me I would have to wait outside the door and the groomer assigned would meet me there. Great! The young lady who approached us, checked the paperwork needed and got my signature to complete the grooming then proceeded to put a leash around my puppy's neck. He did not want to go and she yanked and pulled him into the grooming area, he shouted in pain, and needless to say so did I. I took a deep breath and remained clam in prayer that this young lady would not harm my family member. Upon bringing him back out of the grooming area, she again was pulling him from a leash that was wrapped around his neck!!! He was yelping in pain and she had the gall to tell him that it was fine and you will be ok! NO...young lady! I screamed to stop and tell her that he is not accustomed to being lead by anything around his neck, he has not had anything around his neck and he is not ok!!! At this time she apologized, but the whole scenario is NOT ok! The next day, we had to take him to the pet hospital because his neck was swollen and he was in pain!!! Needless to say that will be the last time for that to happen! Train your people!!! Customer service is a skill set, kindness towards animals is a sign of humanity and being a good person! Neither traits are complicated, if you do not like people, do not be in a job where you must deal with people, if you do not know how to handle pets, be smarter and do not have a job where the "Pet is Smart" (er)...than you are! read more

HORRIBLE! This PetSmart houses both Adams County Adoptive pets and Banfield Vets. Neither PetSmart, Adams County or Banfield take any responsibility for ANYTHING! After adopting my pet, PetS said if I bring him to Banfield within the first 24 hours there would be a FREE physical. So I did. They ended up giving him a shot he had already received from Adams County charging me $25, not FREE! Neither PetS or Banfield would correct this mistake and refund the $25 for giving him a shot he had already had. Also my pet was very sick and PetS said he was healthy then when I had thousands of dollars in pet hospital expenses in the first week they said it was not their responsibility or problem. I would NOT recommend adopting pets from them OR using Banfield. They are both only interested in the bottom line...MONEY! read more

We have been using PetSmart Grooming at this store for the last ten years. The Groomers at this location are very patient with our anxious husky mix. His latest groomer was Nina and she did a beautiful job. She took her time and he came back to us beautifully clean, shorn and fluffy. I also buy most of my pet supplies there. I'm told this is the busiest PetSmart in the country. Going there some days I can see it, especially on a Saturday. It's a large store and has all of the Petsmart offerings, salon, Banfield vets and hotel. They have a large training area in the middle of the store and sometimes run a smaller class in the back. The store is quite large as are their offerings. You can get lost in the aisles of dog or cat food. I've found the employees to be helpful and pleasant despite watching a few instances of rude customer interactions. One guy complaining about not seeing a 2cent price match for 20 cans of cat food he bought. People actually sweat the employees over 40cents. The salon is busy, almost hectic. They do a good and quick job the times I've brought my dogs there. The hotel I have not experienced, however it's very busy and inviting. The lack of a 5th star goes to the Banfield where I lost two dogs on their watch. The dr who is no longer there (thankfully) seemed clueless and had we had someone who cared about the animals at least one of them might still be alive today. She never did figure out the disease on the one, making us try med after med until the poor guy succumbed. To top it off they then made us pay out the plan both were on despite the dogs being dead. Talk about a kick in the shorts. I think if you're budget is tight and your animal is young, the plan makes sense and can cover all the immunizations. I'm leery about the dentals, that's their big thing; putting your dog out each year for a needless dental. Skip this practice and take your dog somewhere else. The rest of the store as I mentioned is huge and well stacked. No matter what pet you have they will have something for it. Specialty things aside. I would recommend ordering on line and picking up you'll get in and out faster. If you go, don't be a jerk over .40cents and be nice to the employees. They're likely not paid a lot and don't need your grief. read more

I started this review with a two star rating but then I thought if I am too lazy to look for somewhere else to trim Monkey's nails how bad could it really be? This is where Monkey gets her nails trimmed about every 2-3 weeks and she hates it every single time. We have to do the nail grind because she won't let them cut her nails but be careful going too long because the nails will get too long even for a grind and you will go home with an unhappy mutt. The workers in the 'salon' are never especially happy to see anyone. They definitely don't seem like 'dog people' when I go in but the cashiers are usually nice and make up for their co-workers. Let's just say I go here for the price ($11 for a nail grind) and that is about it. read more

Giving this place 5 stars for the cat adoption process. We were helped right away and allowed to spend time with our kitty. We spoke to the adoption manager who approved us after giving our landlord a call. Yes, they call your landlord to make sure you're permitted to have a cat. I think that's pretty responsible of them. The cats that you see in this Petsmart actually come from the Foothills Animal shelter. When you adopt at Petsmart, though, to they give you a free comprehensive exam with their on site Banfield Pet Hospital and over $200 in coupons. The kitty we were adopting was 8 years old and so the shelter had not performed a feline leukemia test. This was important to us since we have other cats. Banfield was able to squeeze us in for our complementary appointment right then and there. She was feline leukemia negative - yay! The shelter operates on donation only for cats over 6 months. So there's no adoption fee. You decide what you'd like to donate. All of that money goes to the shelter. None goes to Petsmart. Overall, it was a great experience that went as quickly as you'd expect. The Petsmart manager we worked with was knowledgeable about our cat and the process. We love our kitty and are grateful to Petsmart for hosting cats from the shelter! read more

He insulted my intelligence and basically said I will kill my pets if I didn't buy the product he was trying to up sell. This store is great in terms of size but I must say in comparison with the Littleton store (facing Wadsworth) this store needs to train their employees better. They appear to lack a consistent feel I have felt on other Petmarts. Training maybe? Or hiring for culture fit? My dog also acts differently at this location when compared to our old location. The worst experience EVER!!...my 11 yo dog had an appointment with Alivia for 11:30 am at the only store located at Yuma, Arizona on 03/19/2021...arrived at 11:00 am and was told to wait outside for Alivia to show up. At 11:30 am, another lady after finding out Alivia was not coming (she was not supposed to work that day) told me that because my dog medical history (my dog had ONE seizure 11YEAR AGO when she was a puppy) she needed to be rescheduled in order to meet her "special needs"...my dog DOES NOT NEED and NEVER HAS NEEDED any special accommodations the past NEITHER at the veterinary office NOR any other grooming salon...I was never asked about my dog's medical or veterinary history when I was setting the appointment over the phone...Awful service!!....I will never come back to that store for any reason.... read more

I took my dog to get groomed here and the lady seemed nice at first, but my dog was visibly anxious and nervous which was to be expected( he's about 50 pounds and a mix breed) and the grooming lady saw that. We left him with her and before we even left the store, she had called us saying that he was aggressive and she refused to work on him. He has never been aggressive to my wife or my 18 month old child in any aspect, but we tried to reason with her and see if a muzzle would suffice so he could be groomed, she refused and we decided to leave. When we got into the car we noticed he had a cut on his right-rear leg that was bleeding. We decided to just move on instead of making an incident (possibly getting the cops called if we did) and took him to Paragon pet salon down the street where they had no issues and even showed us a video of him being groomed calmly. But the last time a new woman tried to take him and he started barking at her. Can't blame him as she wasn't very friendly. From start to finish THE most unprofessional/awful experience to date. First my dog needed proof that her rabies shots were up to date so I had that paper work on me, I call to have the groomer (i believe her name is Nina) to come out for curb side drop pick up, as we are going over the details of what services I need done on my labradoodle she proceeds to start PLUCKING (yea you read that right PLUCKING) my dogs hair off her ears. Then yanks my dog out of the car, as I drive off I realize she didn't ask for the paperwork so I call and the phone rings and rings and rings with no answer. So I assume all is well and I can show the paper work upon picking my doodle up. My dogs appointment was at 2pm by 5pm I proceed to call and see what the status is on her pick up time, again the phone just rang and rang with no answer, so I check the website for hours of operation and it says they are open until 9pm. Since I haven't heard anything and tried calling I decided to run to the grocery store. I receive a call at 5:45pm saying my dog is ready for pick up and that I need to hurry because they close at 6pm. I told her there is no way I can make it there by 6pm and she said my dog would have to stay over night! I told her I will be there ASAP and to please not close before I come to get her, I leave my full cart of groceries and speed to get my dog scared that she will have to stay overnight. I get there and tell them I'm here to pick up my dog who apparently nobody knew which dog was mine?! Had to describe her as they all looked at each other wondering who had groomed her? Where she was? I have taken my dog to this location before and unfortunately I will not be going back after this. read more

I said I am right here, do you need to get by? She said no I need to put the ladder right there. So in other words move out of the way, so I can help this customer. I have been coming here for my cat's food/litter/toys etc for awhile now and have always had a great experience. We recently adopted a puppy and walked in having NO idea what we need for dogs. One of the managers helped us get their "Puppy Book" with coupons and walked us around helping us pick out the best products, NOT the most expensive ones, and ones that the coupons applied to.
