It's a necessary evil I guess - like most big box stores. :) I was a person that always ordered everything so going to a store this big was just not something I was that interested in. However, I'm now used to it. Never know what kind of people, animals or situations are going to be going on in there. I expect that now. The cashiers have always been very nice and they do have some pretty sick sales on cat litter and buy 2 get 1 free deals on cat toys and puzzles, etc. which, for me as a cat-sitter is a good deal. I do get seduced by shiny products that don't work out for my cats where I end up spending like $75 and then donating all the cute harnesses/leashes (cats fell out of them), pet t-shirts (not cat-friendly) to ARC like 2 months later...so if I can stick the essentials and ignore any weird people/animals/situations at the store, I am typically a satisfied customer. Oh, I can never sign in to the app AT the register. I have to go to the browser while in store and sometimes that doesn't work either. I would love to see more cat-friendly cat harnesses/leashes, costumes, and seasonally themed cat-toys and modern cat-furniture and letterbox enclosures! They don't carry my Fussie Cat brand there that my cats eat, but I am addicted to their Exquisicat (Petsmart brand only) pine litter pellets because they are such a great deal!!! read more

This is regarding my 04/25/2026 visit to PetSmart in Glendale CO. I have been taking my dogs to get groomed there for years. On 09/04/2025 I had in-home euthanasia for my beautiful Bella who I rescued at age 2. She was 21 when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I still cry every day as she was just the most unique out of all of the 8 cocker spaniels I had rescued. She had extremely expressive eyes and truly was my best friend. Since 09/05 I have looked online almost daily at the websites to find a rescue dog. I REALLY wanted another female cocker spaniel since my other dog Barkley was used to Bella. Barkley was my youngest rescue at 8 weeks. He is now 13 so spent his entire life minus that 8 weeks with Bella. He is experiencing her loss as much as I am. Luckily I stumbled upon Trevor's Animal Rescue website. They are a local rescue in Parker Colorado. Stephanie who runs the organization is in contact with 15 shelters across the U.S. who contact her when a dog is on the euthanasia list. Miller was in Arkansas. His owner died. A relative took Miller to a kill shelter. He is only 5 years old. Stephanie arranged for his transport to CO. She arranged for a vet visit who did bloodwork and took care of all of his vaccinations. There is no physical shelter for Trevor's Animal Rescue. Stephanie finds dogs and cats foster homes. Miller was at a foster home...whoever they are God Bless them for taking him in. Although Miller is a male, he and Barkley are doing okay. I am sure they will become best friends in the future. I very recently learned about a grooming option that PetSmart offers which is an "express" appointment. Typically when Barkley gets groomed he is there about 3 hours. The express option puts your dog with a groomer who has ONLY YOUR DOG to take care of at your appointment time. I chose this option for Miller since he has been in too many crates/kennels already. Miller had the works done...ears, teeth, anal gland expression, etc. I asked Shelli to call me 30 minutes before he was finished so I could be there for sure when he was done to get him outside to go potty. I asked her to put his ticket with the cashier upfront so I could pay before getting him to save anxiety. My appointment was at 7 a.m. The store doesn't open until 9 a.m. I did receive a call about 8:15 that he would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived, Miller was sitting in Shelli's lap. She was petting him, and he was super calm!! Please know that Miller screams every time I leave the house. He is so afraid of being deserted again. When I dropped Miller off I had handed a note to Shelli that he has separation anxiety. I learned from CHAT GPT to be as calm as possible and don't get emotional when I drop him off and then walk out, don't look back at Miller, etc. It all worked SO WELL! I highly recommend Shelli @ PetSmart Glendale. I will be scheduling express appointment for Barkley when he is due for grooming for sure. So many fish dead or dying. When confronted about it and asked what to get for a sick betta (I decided to rescue one from the abuse I don't know if he'll make it but I want to try) one of the employees said "whats wrong with them". How about fin rot ammonia burns green water full of old food and literally death. HOW CAN YOU ASK THAT?! I handed a dead betta to another employee who just took it and said ok before turning to talk to another customer. Zero regard for the life lost. Other fish were eating the bodies of other dead fish and multiple fish were stuck to filters. At the register the employee doing my check out said "I think they came in today" like she was trying to blame the horrific neglect on just arriving. Some of those fish were dead for days and half eaten already. I'm disgusted and sad and will NEVER go back to this location but something needs to be done. I boarded my two dogs, Ali and Tyson, at this PetSmart PetsHotel from May 8 to May 16, 2025 while I traveled -- and what I came back to was unacceptable. When I picked them up, they were visibly distressed. Both of my dogs had severe scabbing and raw patches on their testicles, and the other had lost 7-10 pounds in just one week. BOTH were low-energy and sickly, and neither condition was present when I dropped them off. What's worse -- no one from the staff ever contacted me during their stay to inform me of any changes in behavior, injuries, or health concerns. I was also promised 9 total photo updates during their stay and only received 2 per dog. I immediately took them to the vet inside the store (Banfield), where the vet confirmed they were suffering from extreme allergic reactions that likely led to bacterial infections. They had to be put on antibiotics and given allergy shots. Thankfully, PetSmart covered the cost after I escalated the issue, but that doesn't erase the fact that this could've been avoided with proper attention, cleanliness, and care. If I hadn't acted quickly, their conditions could have worsened. Fast! There was no excuse for this level of neglect in a paid professional boarding service. Over a week for 2 dogs... ANIMAL ABUSE--- I was waiting for my dog to get her services while another small dog was being groomed (no owner present), as well, named Bubbles. I watched/overheard the groomer (young, African American female) of Bubbles screaming at him, keep in mind he's the size of a lap dog. She was yelling, "Oh no, you got to stop. Stop! Stop! Or I'm going to have to muzzle you Bubbles!" The dog seemed pretty compliant considering he is on an elevated table, getting his hair cut, with a person who is supposed to make him feel safe, who is actually screaming at him. This dog was not growling, barking or biting her. Imagine what she would do to a dog who was doing me of those things. I made my presence more known by stepping closer to counter, they forgot I was in there. Two of the other groomers (Asian American female, male with colorful hair) saw me and then looked at the inappropriate groomer to get her to notice me and stop. The female groomer said to her she beer her breath, "there's a customer in here". The inappropriate groomer looked at me and treated her client, Bubbles, better (stopped screaming at him). I can't imagine what she would have continued to do if I wasn't there. My dog was three spots down from her and I could see my dog's own body language was scared, due to her inappropriately screaming at her client Bubbles. Imagine poor Bubbles being right near her face getting screamed at. She should not be in this business. If I EVER saw someone treating my dog that way, especially who is supposed to be in the animal care business, who I am paying to care for my dog, I would be pursuing official complaints with management and with whomever licenses these groomers at Petsmart, and a City animal abuse complaint. She was completely out of line and being emotionally abusive to her clients animal. She exhibited No patience whatsoever or any sense of enjoying her work with animals. UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE A PERSON WHO SCREAMS AT ANIMALS GROOMING THEM. She should be terminated. Her co-workers know exactly who she is, and what she did. I cam here for a grooming for my pups first haircut! He is a rescue and was severely matted so I knew it was going to be a close shave. He came out looking so nice and smelling so good. (Apparently, a cookie butter doggie cologne - it's a must have!) Sam did the cut and the staff was all so friendly and gentle with my little guy. My only complaint is I think I spent more on my dogs haircut than my own! It's a bit pricey! But a job well done. :) read more

Brought my puppy to have an express groom and was very disappointed with the outcome, I was told by the groomer it would be an additional $10.00 charge if she had to use the scissors for over 15 minutes?????. They didn't clip her nails and when I confronted the groomer, Juli she responded bring her back in and I'll clip her nails, this should have been done during her grooming visit. I also noticed she didn't clean the hair out of her ears or express her anal glands during the visit. All this is included in the cost of the grooming but was never completed. I was issued a refund from the store manager but this is unacceptable and incompetence at its highest level. Will not be returning!!!!!! read more

I have only written positive reviews before today to promote businesses and services where I've had great experiences. Today, that changed. I had a terrible experience today with Ali G and the Westminster Petsmart Grooming Service at Towncenter Blvd off Church Ranch. She questioned my pet's history that's been in the system for years and tried to argue with me about my 15 year old dog's health facts, had a terrible attitude, made a big deal about the safety of the groom so when I started to ask questions thinking maybe I shouldn't keep my dog there, she told me twice to "calm down" when I was literally cuddling my 8 pound dog and asked her questions about HER concerns (gaslight much?) and then she said "you know what, I don't feel like seeing Lucy today, I'm not going to see her" and jerked her jacket on her while I stood there dumbfounded. Since I wasn't aware service could be refused for asking questions (not that I would have kept my dog there after that), I asked to speak to her manager, and she pointed to a lady who had been standing right there the whole time witnessing but said/did nothing. When I asked to talk to her outside, she told me how embarrassed she was and that none of that should have happened and kept saying that Aly was "new" and "inexperienced" but she is not - she's been there at least 7 months. Her manager also said the things Aly said and her actions were "weird" and "inappropriate", so I really hope she makes sure Aly isn't able to give any other customer the same experience. The manager offered to do the groom but there was no way I was leaving my dog in their care after that, or giving them, or that store a cent ever again. Aly has other terrible reviews listing her name on Google, I wish I would have looked before I booked her again. What a disgusting experience and now on top of it I get to try and research and find a new groomer that can get us in before the holidays and rearrange my work schedule all due to the incompetence of Aly and the grooming department. Completely unprofessional and rude. Save yourself the trouble and find anywhere else for your dogs/cats. If zero stars were an option, I would pick that. read more

I've never written a review, but I've never been treated worse. Never go to this grooming "salon" - if you could even call it that - first, they give horrible haircuts and treat the dogs awfully. Second, I was just there for an appointment (and I was early, but was waiting outside the door because there was a line), and it took me 20 minutes to get to the check in because there was a long line of people with their dogs waiting. When I finally got to the front, they said they couldn't take my dog because I was too late...and worse, they claimed they hadn't seen me in line! The guy - his name was Parker - was a total asshole. This is the first trip to a big box pet store that hasn't left me feeling depressed for the animals inside. Obviously they can't give giant enclosures to the animals, but the rodents had PROPERLY sized wheels (10 to 12 inches, none of those painful 6inch ones), the reptiles were kept in the proper humidity ranges, and they all had a bit of enrichment. I walked in late one afternoon, fighting with late afternoon traffic because our pet catfish, who leads a privileged life, is depressed and stopped eating. Petsmart does water checks, so I brought a sample from our fish tank. The clerk was very cheerful, handed me a full readout on the water conditions, from our tank, suggested a small water change, and new food. After all, nobody likes to eat the same food each day; not even a privileged fish. So after purchasing new food, which could have bought me a small portion of a filleted grouper, I headed home. Four pampered poodles barked at me angrily from their open car windows, from their chevy suburban with leather seats. I chastised them for being privileged pooches, with their pompadour hairstyles from recent grooming, and from having recently returning from a spa treatment at their doggie day care center. Don't you doggies bark at me, I replied. You privileged dogs lead a pampered life, while there are human being living on the streets in horrible conditions. Something registered on the dogs' face because their barking ceased, and they paid attention to me. They probably have a life insurance policy I thought. Maybe they were rescues, and my word's reminded them of their previous pain. Then I realized they have no remorse for their under dog compatriots, locked up in cages, in over crowded shelters. There was a moment of silence where all the dogs congealed their thoughts. My words meant something to them after all. Don't just bark at anyone because they are near your leather seated black suburban, because the barkee has to get in their car and drive home. Don't just bark to stand your ground, and protect your territory. Think before you bark! And that is when I wished them a good day, and headed out into the heavy afternoon traffic, to change my fish tank's water, and greet my privileged catfish with a smile, and high hopes, she will appreciate her new food. read more

This is a good PetSmart location. The employees are great but you'll find that people don't treat this location with as much respect as you'd hope. I've heard from employees that customers steal from this location often, so if something is online there's no guarantee it's actually in the store. Many people allow their pets to potty around the front of the store but don't clean up after them. Many of these things are out of the store's control but they're the only cons I've seen. Overall my experience with the employees has been phenomenal. They are very understanding of returning items and give no hassle. I will absolutely return. read more

I like many of the PetSmart stores, and I like the grooming salons of the smaller stores. The customer service at the grooming salon at 4300 Alameda is sorely lacking. The staff seems to look for excuses as to why they cannot groom your dog, and every minor detail (like clean feet) has an upcharge. My groomer made a big deal of a minor knot in my dog's ear and said she would have to shave her ear. When I said that was ridiculous, she said she didn't like my attitude and was calling the manager. The manager did nothing of course and later apologized, but I was delayed while we waited for the manager and other customers behind me were delayed as well. Really, is this high school where a manager gets called because someone doesn't like your attitude? So silly unless you paid extra for express grooming and have to wait. Don't take a chance on this Petsmart salon, go somewhere else. read more

The female manager was very rude every time I called to check on my dogs she made me feel uncomfortable. I pick up my dogs neither of them can bark. One has a laceration on her tongue. She is soaking wet like she's been sitting in her own urine for a long period of time. Ones throat was swollen from being choked. Usually I despise petsmart because I have exotic pets and the selection for exotics is limited and the vet only services cats and dogs. The prices are hyper inflated and they ask a ton of questions at check out it always takes forever and I just disagree in general with the amount of money average Americans spend on their pets. That being said - in my angry rush when my kids asked for fish on their birthday & petsmart Glendale was nearby I went in bought a few fish then accidentally donated $40 on one of the million questions the computer asks at checkout. Fast forward 2 months & tonight I find myself searching for bird antiseptic and pain spray (they don't have any) but the guy was super patient and very helpful and helped me figure out alternate solutions then when I mentioned the $40 refund I never received for the error in donation (multi million $$ corporation doesn't need $40 from a single mother) the manager came out and she ended up comping the 2 small emergency items I needed for my birds small injury. I found the help this evening finally worth overpaying all those other times so special thank you to those 3 associates I believe a manager who helped me tonight under slight duress. I took my cat Rom Rom in to get groomed and cut. Pricilla was the groomer and she did a pretty good job on him as he came back looking like the prince that he is. :) The one issue I would mention, he did come back smelling like a dog and my other cat spent the next few days attacking him because of it. I used to take him to a petsmart in Miami when I lived there and he always came back smelling like a powdered baby. They did also mention that he freaked out from the hair dryer which I am not surprised since he's never been around one before. The Miami location used a drying chamber that you put the pet in and he drys over the span of an hour or so. So maybe investing in that petsmart for the nervous nellies out there wouldn't be a bad idea? The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the groomer who was with my dog was nice and she really did do a good job. Two things unfortunately turned me off, though - one groomer's general demeanor was off-putting when I excitedly (who isn't?!) walked in to get my dog. But more so the groomer behind her with a husky who I watched pull (not tug - full force pull) its leash and yell at to get on top of the table. I was shocked. It was uncomfortable to watch. So Friday I checked-in my dog in the PetsHotel and filled up a paper saying that I was the one who checked him in with my name, phone number, address, signature and the date and the emergency person who will pick up my dog in case I can't make it. Today, I went to pick up my dog and Miranda was saying that my name was NOT in their system. I asked her if she could find the paper that I filled up with my SIGNATURE on it Friday. She showed me an old paper that my boyfriend filled up last year when we went on our vacation. I told her that was not the paper because it was from a year ago, i was the one who filled up the paper not my boyfriend. Miranda was saying "oohh this is the paper from the dogs parent, he sign it in beforehand and he didnt put you as emergancy authorized person to pick up the dog" NO SHIT!! that paper was when we went on vacation last year and I was like "you dont get me I filled up the paper not my boyfriend cause he is out of the state since Tuesday, the paper I signed for my dog where it is?" She was like "we based on this paper" like whhaaaatt?? on a paper from a year ago? Anyway, so Miranda said she have to call the authorized person so she called 2 numbers: My number (My phone was on silent so didnt picked up since I was not expecting she will call me because i am not in their system as authorized person to pick up) and my boyfriend who called back "OK". While she was checking Milo out I looked at my phone and there her voicemail and I have it loud speaker so she could hear it. Now she know. What I'm saying is: they dont update their system. Once you check-in your dog make sure you have that paper photo copied and take it with you when you pick up your dog. It's a waste of time to argue but I really dont get why they could not update their system once you fill that paper up. The people here were nice enough, but I have my doubts about what actually happened when we took our 1 year old dog here for one day of daycare. Our dog seemed full of energy when we picked her up, and she got a nasty case of kennel cough from her one day of daycare here (she hasn't been anywhere else). They had no cameras. This one day of daycare has cost us over $200 in vet bills. We won't be doing this again. read more
