    Another hill to play on
    Dana W.

Was super happy to join a Sunday Small dog meet up which was being hosted by Earth Dog Day. They had so many areas for the pups to play and was in a safe and secure (multi) gated area. The staff was beyond amazing and is a reason in itself to come by and join this day care. There were obstacles to climb, pools to swim and happy pups wanting to make new friends. Will be joining this day care and think you should as well!! (Ample parking in lot and street!)

    After surgery from the attack.

I waited to post this review to see what happened with Earthdog after my dog was attacked there in March of 2023. Since I have been displeased with their inaction, I've decided to finally post about it. We received a call in the middle of the day after our dog had been boarded for a couple of days. The staff member told us our dog (Luna) had a small scratch on her side, they weren't sure how it happened, but that if we could come pick her up a little earlier that would be good. I got there a little while later to find a massive gash in Luna's side, and her bleeding from an obvious dog bite. It was later confirmed that she was bitten by a large dog when running full speed, hence the severity of the injury. After checking out (they initially made us pay for boarding LOL), we rushed her straight to an emergency vet and then surgery. As you can imagine, the bills piled up. While Earthdog isn't liable, the other dog's owners can be. Earthdog wouldn't give me the name of the other dog's owners or help us recoup any of the cost, so we are out thousands of dollars. After weeks and weeks of going back and fourth, it fell to us to pay. We understand that these things can happen when you take your dog to daycare or boarding, but their inaction and lack of communication was really appalling. I'd think twice about bringing your dog here and going through what we have.

    Kaden living the dream!

I take my dog, Kaden to @EarthDogDenver probably more than most. He is a German Shepherd and when I have to work all day, and my significant other isn't home, , I hate leaving him all day alone and bored all day. So I take him here and he loves it. The team does awesome. The owner is great and very personable. Kaden plays all day and is exhausted when he comes home. He can barely move! He loves this place and is always eager to get out of the car when I drive up. Whenever we have to leave town, I board him (in the past for a long period - 3 weeks+) and he was 100% well taken care of. This place is pretty rock solid. I am here frequently - multiple times a week, and I don't have much to complain about. I recommend this place! #EarthDogDenver

If your dog is full of energy and needs to get out, you need to check this place out! Especially if you live near here the dog park is awesome! For $5 bucks your dog can run, play and SWIM in a big pool. I just moved a block away from this place and I'm super stoked for my pup pup. There are plenty of chairs and trees for shade so you can sit and relax while your doggie mingles and plays while you read a book, listen to your iPod, or chat with fellow dog owners. They also have daycare and boarding. I was watching the girl who was attending the daycare dogs and she was playing with the dogs and being licked in the face :) They looked like they were having a good time. I got dog food samples and bought an awesome shedding brush for my boyfriend's Golden Retriever. This grooming tool was bad ass, it took off like 10 lbs of hair since she's shedding. (another review mentioned the owner trying to upsell on products, but this is because they encourage customers to brush their dogs being that all the hair clogs the pool filters)

Like others we came here for a dog meetup. Because we were there as a group our large dog breed got a discount down to $5/ dog. I had very little interaction with employees. They took my money and ushered us through the back door. We were there with a group of 25+ large dogs and felt we had plenty of personal space. I didn't feel like people were stepping all over each other and needed more room. The area was mostly dirt and with the dogs jumping in and out of the water it got muddy pretty quick. My largest gripe was the water was green !! I'm not a sanitation expert but I'm positive that GREEN water can't be good ! The employees did mention to us it was the end of the "pool season" and that was the reason for the color. The explanation didn't make much sense to me. If you run a business it's your job to keep things clean AT ALL TIMES !! Now, with all that said. If I had asked my dogs to rate this place after a full 2 hours of running, climbing, swimming, and acting like complete fools; they would've given the place 5*s ( and aren't the dogs who we're trying to make happy anyway ?) .

The problem I've found with a lot of groomers is they are booked 6+ weeks out. Unfortunately, when I need to book a groom it's most likely b/c I've spilled queso or some other drippy snack in my dog's head hair and I need a groomer today, not 6 weeks from now. Woof in Boots was able to get me in the same week I called. When I dropped her off I spoke with the groomer and explained my dog's new anxiety contributed to her recent diagnoses of Cushing's Disease. My dog is now a nervous nelly when I bring her to the groomers. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog here. The groomer assured me she would stop immediately if it got to be too much for my old lady. My dog was done in less than 2 hours (I've bene places where they've kept her for 5+ hours). When I picked her up she was free roaming in the secure doggy area. She had her tongue hanging out and seemed happy. I loved that she was cage-free after her groom since she has PTSD from all her surgeries (and being caged). I will definitely be back for all my grooming needs - and most likely day care as well!

The Sunday I went there was lots of parking in front and along the side streets. The facility itself seemed to need some attention & upkeep - the front glass window was cracked & the inside lobby looked a bit disorganized. In addition, customers are not allowed to tour the facility. As with most boarding places, all dogs need to have an evaluation before a reservation can be made. At this facility dogs have daycare with boarding. There is no charge for the evaluation. I made my evaluation time for drop off at 10am & pick up at 2pm on a Sunday. Thank goodness I received a reminder text the morning of because the text also said the lobby is closed from 10-4pm on Sundays. No one mentioned this when I made the appointment. I would have been very disappointed had I gotten there & it was closed. I did call & they asked if I could be there a little early & someone would be in the lobby for pickup at 2pm. I was not happy at pickup when I discovered poop all over one side, by the ear & neck on one of my dogs. The employee was surprised & apologetic, he took her in the back & gave her a bath. The employee was very friendly & personable. At Woof & Boots he said they try to be accommodating & flexible. For example, if some dogs like people more (than dogs) they allow them to hang out with the staff in the lobby, which is gated. They also offer the Bordetella Vaccine for $35 & provide a First Day Report Card with picture of your dog(s).

Today when I picked him up from being groomed they cut his hair all the way down. The groomer said she checked the notes and this is what they "have always done". WRONG he has NEVER had his hair shaved down. The owner Luke apologized and stated that his health is not affected. Also WRONG Luke! He is an 8 year old black double coated dog and we are heading into the warm summer months. My senior black fur dog just lost the ability to maintain his temperature regulation. What groomer would not know that you are not supposed NEVER shave down a long haired Dachshund as it damages the coat and impairs the dogs ability to regulate temperature. A knowledgeable groomer would know that long haired Dachshunds are DOUBLE COATED and their undercoat protects them from heat in the summer and cold in the winter. A knowledgeable groomer would know that shaving down their fur can damage their permanent coat preventing it from growing back properly. Poor guy it looks horrible and I'm praying that somehow we are lucky and it grows back in without being permanently damaged. This is going to impact my dogs entire summer as he will have to avoid being in the sun. So no long walks or hikes for him. So you are WRONG Luke this is more than cosmetic and goes way beyond my dog looking absolutely horrible. This definitely affects his health and his life. BEWARE AND NEVER BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!!!
