I was happy to find PPS at first. Then the owner of PPS on her second visit broke a new and expensive lamp of mine, and she damaged the top of a custom-made buffet table too. I was not informed of the damages by the nice lady. Everything happens for a reason. I have since hired another company who has their pet sitters bonded, insured and background checked. Unlike PPS who are not, and who also require to be paid in full before you even leave for your trip. Ouch!! The new company I am using doesn't pay their pet sitter for 1 week after the clients have returned. They want to make sure that everything is in order, and the clients are happy. Michele and her team at People and Pet Sitters have been taking care of my fur babies for the last few years when I leave town. My kitties always receive top care and lots of love from their caregivers. They've gotten my shy cat to come out and play and interact with them. Having recently relocated to the area knowing no one and needing to travel on short notice for work, I was in a pinch. I flew my dog home to be with his grandparents (I was scheduled to be home a month) and needed someone to care for my cat. I am quite protective of my kiddos, so I was nervous. I had seen a flier for Pet and People Sitters and decided to call. Right away I could tell Michele has a true passion for her job. She came over for a meet and greet where my cat fell in love with her. I received texts with pictures everyday, I was able to travel for work without having to worry about my fur kid or my home. My travel was extended and I was gone for two months. Michele was very flexible as she continued to care for Tux, and having random days off if I came home for a weekend. I highly recommend her to anyone, it was like having family watch my cat. She took care of everything, even picked up the mail everyday, and dropped off a package for me. She caters to anything you need/want. I am getting ready to travel for a week, where she will be watching/staying overnight with both the dog and the cat. We just recently used Pet and People Sitters for the first time and could not have possibly been more pleased with the service we received. We were able to go away on our vacation and not only have no worries about our pets but also not have to worry about the apartment becoming to messy and our mail piling up.
