Loved the individualized spa experience. Molly says, "5/5 woofs for Diedre."

Molly, the scaredy cat-Golden retriever, and I were thrilled with her individualized spa experience. Diedre knows dogs, and she knows what's she doing. We are very pleased.

I have never felt more compelled to write a review than I do today. What I just experienced here is the epitome of RUDE, CONDESCENDING and UNPROFESSIONAL. I called yesterday to see how soon I could get my two female Cavaliers King Charles Spaniels groomed, as we just couldn't make our regular groomer's (of 4+ years) schedule work with ours this time. I dropped them off a little before 10am and spoke to the groomer who made some suggestions on length of hair for the body and legs (some similar suggestions to what I'm used to, some different). In the end, I trusted her 'professional' opinion but I did say, twice, please leave their ears and tails long. She agreed. As I was leaving she said it takes about 1.5 hours per dog and asked if sometime around 2:00 would be okay. I said that would be fine. At 1:15, I was about 10 minutes away and thought I would call to see if they were finished. (1.5 hours x 2 dogs=3 hours/10am+3 hours is 1pm, right?). The male voice who answered said, 'Which dogs? Oh, let me check.' He picked up and said 'No, they're not done, it'll be around 2, LIKE WE SAID THIS MORNING.' I thought that was a bit snarky, but whatever. At 2:30, when I still hadn't received a call, I headed over there. When I walked in at 2:36, his first words to me were, 'Did you not hear me say they would be ready at 2:00?' I replied, 'Oh sorry, I assumed you would call me. You both said 'sometime AROUND 2' and I've always had my groomer call me when they're ready. Just a miscommunication on both our parts.' I paid while waiting for my dogs and was asked if I wanted to leave a gratuity (BEFORE I saw the quality of their cuts). I left one. When my sweet Blenheim cavalier walked out I couldn't help but say 'OH NO, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR EARS?!?' The groomer immediately responded 'they were really matted underneath so I had to cut them.' Our dogs have been groomed every 2-4 months for 4 years. I can assure you, Cavaliers ears can get snarly but they ABSOLUTELY did not need to be cut to her puppy length. Not only that, they were completely choppy. No apologies were offered. I left. In utter shock. When I got home, I reread all of their reviews and knew I wasn't alone in feeling this way, so I decided to call them to see if they would be open to my feedback. I was put on the line with the groomer, who apologized for not calling me to tell me that Mollie was having a hard time while getting her ears brushed and would she like me to cut them as short as humanly possible. When I said, 'wait, so she was getting squeamish so you decided to take a shortcut and just chop off all the hair so you didn't have to deal with her fussing?' Of course she got offended and said that she just made the professional call to cut them since my dog seemed to be in pain by having them brushed. She again said 'I admit, I should have called you first.' She asked what she could do to make it up to me. I said, 'What CAN you do? At this point, she looks like a male hunting dog instead of my sweet, pretty female cavalier. She said 'Are you looking for a refund?' I said 'I guess, I don't know what else can be done. They won't grow 7 inches in 2 weeks for her Christmas pictures.' She said 'I'll put you through to my receptionist and he can take care of it'. The male receptionist got on the line and said 'Okay, I can refund your $65 (no mention of refunding the tip, of course) but I want you to know our policy is that if someone gets a refund on a grooming, your dogs won't be able to come back to our store.' I couldn't believe it! I told him I would write a review so others would know if they're dissatisfied with a service (that the groomer admitted was her fault) you will be BANNED FROM THE STORE. His response takes the cake, 'I'm not too worried about losing your business since we already have a really good client base. Have a good day.' CLICK. Wow, imagine how many more customers they could have if they took feedback seriously and didn't display an immature, unprofessional attitude in response to it. Don't worry, I definitely won't be back.

The problem I've found with a lot of groomers is they are booked 6+ weeks out. Unfortunately, when I need to book a groom it's most likely b/c I've spilled queso or some other drippy snack in my dog's head hair and I need a groomer today, not 6 weeks from now. Woof in Boots was able to get me in the same week I called. When I dropped her off I spoke with the groomer and explained my dog's new anxiety contributed to her recent diagnoses of Cushing's Disease. My dog is now a nervous nelly when I bring her to the groomers. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog here. The groomer assured me she would stop immediately if it got to be too much for my old lady. My dog was done in less than 2 hours (I've bene places where they've kept her for 5+ hours). When I picked her up she was free roaming in the secure doggy area. She had her tongue hanging out and seemed happy. I loved that she was cage-free after her groom since she has PTSD from all her surgeries (and being caged). I will definitely be back for all my grooming needs - and most likely day care as well!

The Sunday I went there was lots of parking in front and along the side streets. The facility itself seemed to need some attention & upkeep - the front glass window was cracked & the inside lobby looked a bit disorganized. In addition, customers are not allowed to tour the facility. As with most boarding places, all dogs need to have an evaluation before a reservation can be made. At this facility dogs have daycare with boarding. There is no charge for the evaluation. I made my evaluation time for drop off at 10am & pick up at 2pm on a Sunday. Thank goodness I received a reminder text the morning of because the text also said the lobby is closed from 10-4pm on Sundays. No one mentioned this when I made the appointment. I would have been very disappointed had I gotten there & it was closed. I did call & they asked if I could be there a little early & someone would be in the lobby for pickup at 2pm. I was not happy at pickup when I discovered poop all over one side, by the ear & neck on one of my dogs. The employee was surprised & apologetic, he took her in the back & gave her a bath. The employee was very friendly & personable. At Woof & Boots he said they try to be accommodating & flexible. For example, if some dogs like people more (than dogs) they allow them to hang out with the staff in the lobby, which is gated. They also offer the Bordetella Vaccine for $35 & provide a First Day Report Card with picture of your dog(s).

Today when I picked him up from being groomed they cut his hair all the way down. The groomer said she checked the notes and this is what they "have always done". WRONG he has NEVER had his hair shaved down. The owner Luke apologized and stated that his health is not affected. Also WRONG Luke! He is an 8 year old black double coated dog and we are heading into the warm summer months. My senior black fur dog just lost the ability to maintain his temperature regulation. What groomer would not know that you are not supposed NEVER shave down a long haired Dachshund as it damages the coat and impairs the dogs ability to regulate temperature. A knowledgeable groomer would know that long haired Dachshunds are DOUBLE COATED and their undercoat protects them from heat in the summer and cold in the winter. A knowledgeable groomer would know that shaving down their fur can damage their permanent coat preventing it from growing back properly. Poor guy it looks horrible and I'm praying that somehow we are lucky and it grows back in without being permanently damaged. This is going to impact my dogs entire summer as he will have to avoid being in the sun. So no long walks or hikes for him. So you are WRONG Luke this is more than cosmetic and goes way beyond my dog looking absolutely horrible. This definitely affects his health and his life. BEWARE AND NEVER BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!!!

As a full-time cat sitter, I like to stop here and pick up fresh packets of From the Fields catnip/silvervine, any cat food my clients may be out of or that I may be out of. They have Fussie Cat brand which Petsmart and Petco do not carry. I also love that they have my cat-sitting magnet stuck on the pole thing by their register - thank you!! The staff is always friendly and helpful and the place is literally so convenient! I love that they carry Go Cat wands, but please - can you carry the ones on the sticks (not the fishing line/wire ones)? I buy the crap out of the stick wands for my clients' kitties! I currently get them at Luke + Co and A Pet's Paradise, and a place in Littleton! Would love to be able to pick them up at Kriser's as well!
