I have been bringing my dog here since 2016 and I absolutely love it! I moved to Denver, so it was a little bit of a drive but I continued to bring him there because they do such a wonderful job. I am always so thrill to pick up my babies from Nelly! I have a mini poodle and a cockapoo. They are always so adorable. I have been going here for years and they always take such care with our girls. In fact the girls love the little outdoor area they have just for them to play in. Decided to update my review based on their ridiculous price increases and reading some more current reviews. I called about a month ago for a grooming for Oreo, $65 freakin dollars from $45! Smh I went somewhere else, but I do remember the owner being snotty and rude with me last time I used their self service bath for him. First off the shampoo and stuff is watered down AlOT, then what used to be a $8-$10 wash fee turned into $14! For what, watered down shampoo and water and a dry treat. The lady that used to work here about a year or so ago was so nice and friendly! After reading the comments about how she basically treats Latino names as if we can't keep appointments is BS. We have tried a couple others but Heather really cares to do a good job and is always fussing over our labradoodle even as we are checking out. I like this place because it's one of the few places I've found that will groom my cats without me staying to help hold. Also, they only charge $65 for each of my Persians and Petco charges $100, so big difference! Today I stayed because I wasn't sure if one of my cats would allow them to groom her since it was her first time getting shaved and I saw how gentle and reassuring the one cat groomer was to my kitty. She was successful and got the cat shaved and I couldn't be more pleased. All my kitties look so cute when they get home from Muddy Paws! I also took my dog here right before he passed and at that time he had trouble standing and they still got the groom completed. Highly recommend this place! read more

My husband and I have been taking our dog here for the last 4 years. We never have scheduled an appointment ahead of time and we have been taken care of by walking in. I understand that this can't be done every time. I checked the website before packing up our pooch and it stated that walk in's are welcome. Upon arrival I saw a woman at the bath, the groomer in her grooming room and a woman standing at a desk in the back facing away from me. I said hello and good morning and that I was there to see about getting my dog groomed. She barked back at me,"Do you have an appointment?" I told her no and that we didn't need one when we've been in before. She said snapped back,"Well you need an appointment." At this moment she turned back around with her back to me. Was she not able to help with scheduling that appointment? I'm positive there is a nicer way to say what she said. I wasn't upset that I couldn't walk in, I was upset by the general rudeness by this employee. At the moment I asked,"Can I schedule an appointment with you for my dog to be groomed?" She said,"Yeah, I guess so, have you been in before?"(Clearly not remembering what I had just told her about how we've been coming in for 4 years.) I said yes and gave her the name, and she had no record of it. At this moment A few more dogs came in and the phone rang, she was acting anxious and frazzled. I smiled a shrugged off her lack of positive attitude and general attention to customer service and said,"I guess I'll just go somewhere else." Sadly, we will no longer be going to Muddy Paws and again not because we couldn't walk-in for a service but, because I wasn't spoken kindly to at 10:00am in the morning while the shop was quiet and I did my absolute best to be understanding about this woman's negative attitude and inability to be of any help. This is where I go to use the self-serve wash for my dogs. The big, deep tubs here are awesome and you can access them from both sides, which is a huge help when you've got a dog that gets frozen to the spot and won't let you spin them around. I don't know if I've seen another DIY dog wash that has the same kind of tubs. The shampoo and conditioners are pretty watery, so you have to use a decent amount to get any kind of lather on your pup, but I've also never felt like an employee was glaring at me for using a lot of product. They do provide a bath towel and a little microfiber squeegee towel to assist in drying, but my husband and I bring extra cruddy towels from home- one towel isn't gonna do it for these dogs. I understand why they don't offer unlimited towels, though. Too many people would be using 8 towels per small dog, and that's a lot of laundry. Make sure you get a punch card there! We didn't know they had one and missed out on a few punches. read more

Hi. I'm Harpo. I was formally at an animal shelter where I rescued my human. The day I rescued my human, he took me to Muddy Paws Bathhouse. Everyone was so nice and friendly! My rescued human wasn't experienced at washing me so Zia, the owner of Muddy Paws, was ready to jump in and help him give me a great wash! I'm a big pup so the tubs were large enough to accommodate me and my human and they had all the supplies we needed (towels, soap, blow dryer, etc.). Zia realized I was a little nervous, cause everyone and everything was so new, so she really helped me feel comfortable and relaxed. After my bath, the wonderful staff at Muddy Paws gave me great treats and I ran and ran in the spacious backyard. While I ran in the backyard, my human was able to pick up some great goodies for me in the Muddy Paws store--high quality dog food, a new leash and collar, and of course treats. Zia was so nice as she gave my human foods to sample so my human could figure out my food preferences. Thank you, Muddy Paws! I will make sure my human brings me back for washes and grooming! Found this place and called of which the owner stated she had a Schnoodle too and made availability. Dropped him off and picked him a couple hours later. Very happy and pleased will definitely come back. Took a long time to find someone who knows not jut the Breed and also how to groom them. At Fido's I picked my dog up in one hour her coat was perfectly groomed and her nails were clipped and buffed to perfection. Just to be clear, I did not take my dog to your place with the intention of purposefully writing a bad review. I seriously don't have the time or energy to think things like that up. I am easily pleased. All that is required is for the work to be done properly. While I did confuse FIdo's with Muddy Paws I definitely am not confused about the services I asked for. I have had my dog groomed at other places and to be crystal clear, I am not confused about the process of furmintation. The service I received at your place was just bad! You stated that I filled out a form when I picked my dog up.This could be true, I really don't recall however, I was very unhappy with her appearance and mentioned it. They gave me a discount for the terrible nail job they gave her. They never asked me to bring her back until I mentioned that I had requested her to be furminated and by her appearance it looked as though it had not been done. That's when your employee asked me to bring her back "so that the work could be finished." This is also something that has never happened after having my dog groomed. I think keeping my dog for over 2 hours should have been a sufficient amount of time to finish the job properly. Zia I honestly do not want you to call me again. you said that you were disappointed in my review. I understand this however, I think your energy would better spent cleaning your place and managing the work that your employees are doing. I don't need to be called a month later to be told that you fired your groomer because she didn't know what she was doing. Shortly after I first adopted my puppy, I decided I was going to give him a bath at home. "This will be easy," I smiled to myself naively as I optimistically picked out dog shampoo, "He loves the water." Boy oh boy, was I wrong. It turns out that while my dog is quite fond of the putrid water found in Sloan's Lake, the sight of filtered water and shampoo transport him to his own personal hell. My ill fated attempt to bathe him culminated with me standing full clothed in our shower, cradling my 30 pound dog like a baby with one arm and trying to scrub the shampoo out of him with the other. In that moment, I knew it was my first and last time attempting to wash him at home. It's been a few months since then and my puppy was starting to get pretty smelly. I had seen reviews for Muddy Paws on Yelp and was off work yesterday so I decided to bring him over. If you've had a similar at-home attempt washing your dog, then this place is ABSOLUTELY worth the $10, $13, or $15 (depends on size of dog). It's not fancy, but it doesn't really need to be. They provide shampoo, towels, brushes, and a fabulous portable dryer (and a waterproof apron of sorts for you). The tubs are a good size and they provide these quasi leash/collar things that make it easy to secure your dog-- my puppy still spent the entire time attempting to jump out, but he could never get too far! Their location on Harlan is somewhat difficult to find if you don't know where to look. I had mapped the location with my phone and I still drove by at first! It shares a location with a tattoo studio but is located around back. read more

I was done with it. Totally over it. You know what I'm talking about. Giving my dog a bath in the tub was always nothing short of horrifyingly messy. The drains would be clogged. There would be soapy water everywhere. He'd shake off the water, which would often coat even the ceiling. I'd end up looking like a hot mess (emphasis on the "hot"). I'd driven by Muddy Paws many times and thought I'd try it. I didn't care how much it would cost. Any price would be better than the crazy farm my bathroom would become. The staff is awesome. Extremely friendly and helpful. They were there to make sure we understood how everything worked and to make sure we had everything we needed. The water is always a perfect warm temperature for the dogs' comfort. They have shamwows, which are amazing for getting the pups dry more quickly. They even have a washing tub that's on the ground for older dogs that can no longer walk up the ramps to the higher tubs. I think that's really thoughtful, as one of the first questions we were asked was if our dog was younger or older. They also have a crazy blow drying box were you can put smaller dogs completely inside. I had never seen such a contraption before, but the dog that was getting dried off seemed to love it. They also offer full toenail clipping and trimming services, which is convenient. Side note - I was trying to clean up hair and such as we moved along, and one of the staff members came up to me and said "don't worry about it, that's what I'm here for." Come on people, that's good service. They will give you a punch card at the end of your visit if you don't have one already. If you get 10 punches, you get a free visit. Do your dog, yourself, and your bathroom a favor: go to Muddy Paws. You'll both be taken care of by the friendly staff, and your bathroom will be spared from becoming a war zone. read more

I'll make this short and sweet - this is not a doggy spa or boutique to buy cutie things. Its a place to wash your dog so that your bathroom doesn't look like a tornado hit it after cleaning up Fido. Service is outstanding - the owner Zia really makes you and your dog feel welcome. The accessories offered this time to assist in my dog wash were not as nice as previously - no Furminator-type comb, no sham, just plain white towels and a worn down rubber scrubber. Also the water temp seemed much cooler than before, and I could tell the difference in my dog's reaction in getting wet. Also, the doggy dryer (not the giant box) does not have any option other than jet power high, which freaks the hell out of my dog, so we ended up going home wetter than we should have.... But I will still support this outstanding local business owner (who gives back a lot to the community and who really makes you feel welcome in her shop) by coming back here next time the pooch needs a scrubdown. read more

I've been taking my dog to Muddy Paws to have her claws clipped, and occasionally using the self serve dog wash. I was a loyal customer because my dog doesn't like having her claws clipped, but she trusted Heather and that made it so much easier on me and my dog. Unfortunately, on my last visit I was informed that Heather has left. On a previous occassion, the owner clipped my dog's claws and cut her vein. When she offered to do her nails this time, I asked her to be very careful not to cut her vein. She snapped at me that she always tries to cut veins. She was rough with my dog, who was squirming and uncomfortable. She yelled at my dog to stop it, which just made matters worse. While that was going on, I saw another groomer take a dog from the grooming table over to the tubs, and drop the dog into the tub, then grab the dog by the cord on it's neck and drag it's head to the other side of the tub. If you think your dog is having a good experience being groomed here, you should think again. I wouldn't leave my dog unattended at this place. If anyone knows where Heather is working now, I would love to know. read more

Now that I've taken my dog here once I don't think I'll be taking her anywhere else to wash her. The people who work here were super sweet to all of the dogs that came in. The woman who cut my dogs nails was very gentle, and managed to get her nails shorter than most dog groomers have been able to while keeping my dog pretty calm as well. They have all your standard dog cleaning gear here: aprons, dog chamois cloths, dog jet engine blow dryers, etc. The wash area was kept pretty clean as well. My dog seemed to like Muddy Paws too, as she didn't look like she hated life once her bath was all said and done. read more

This place was awesome. I brought my 13lb Pomeranian and about 70ishlb Great Pyrenees here after work to give them a quick bath. With both of my fur babies extremely fluffy, the excess hair lost while bathing is another mess in itself. Coming here, I had my own private room and the tub was big enough to accommodate them both at the same time. They had shampoos and conditioner as well as brushes, cotton balls for ear cleaning and blue stuff for the muzzles. After washing I used the gigantic blow-dryer to dry them off. The best part- I was able to leave the towels and tons of hair behind. It was so easy! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back next month. read more

It was Sunday morning at 8 AM and I woke up to my stinky dog at the side of my bed, begging for me to wake up. After many doggy day care trips and being slobbered on, the smell finally caught up to my Rocco. We searched online to find out who was open on a Sunday, and early enough where we could go, get in, and get out early enough to not waste the day. We found Muddy Paws, and saw that they opened at 10. Off we go, two adults, one infant, and a 65 pound boxer. At first we passed it, because the driver wasn't paying attention to me when I said it was coming up, ahem... and its also a pretty unassuming front... you don't see it until you are right on it, so you should really pay attention to the addresses. After our scenic detour, and driving by some for sale houses we thought we may be interested in... we ended up back at our intended destination. Parking in the back, we made our way in through the back door... Rocco pulling excitedly on his leash and little baby E asleep in his stroller. We were treated great!! Greeted at the door, with dog and baby alike doted on :). It took us a minute to get the dog up the ramp, and even a few minutes longer from the ledge into the tub... but once we did, rub a dub dub, a doggy in a tub. We brushed him with the brushes provided, rinsed him down with the hose, shampooed, massaged, and conditioned. During a few shakes of excess water from Rocco, I was able to look around and notice they were really quite busy for being first opened. Its a small place, but they were efficiently moving around. When all done,we had a few different towels and dried off our boy. The area was a mess and we were told to "just leave it, that's the beauty of coming here ". Totally agree. We paid and were on our way. If I didn't enjoy bath time with Rocco so much, I would sign him up for future grooming here :) read more

I just took my dog here a few days after adopting her from a rescue. she looked a mess and was afraid of new things. I had an idea of what I wanted but the groomer didn't think it would look right on her & her hair was so bad they recommended shaving her and starting from scratch. I was expecting to pick up a bald pup. you know the ones with terrible haircuts so bad the dog looks embarrassed. nope. Piper looked so adorable! the people there are so nice and took an extra long time to groom her so as to not traumatize her. they let her slowly get used to each step of the process since this was her first groom. she didn't seem too upset when i picked her up. in fact she was getting cuddled when I picked her up. who wouldn't love that? my hairdresser doesn't cuddle me at all after a cut. not even a hug. The ladies who work at Muddy Paws are some of the nicest people on the planet. They take extra special care with our old dog Olivia. They do a great job trimming her nails. As for the do it yourself dog baths, they are helpful and encouraging, which is really all that's needed while I wrestle our larger dog into cleanliness. I paid $8 for a nail trim, and I'm not sure how much to give our other dog a bath but it's quite affordable. Great place if you want to bathe your pup but not break the bank. read more

I'm fairly new to Denver and was on the hunt for a great groomer. I have a 1/2 great pyrenees who is a therapy dog with lots of hair. Because she's a therapy dog, she needs to be clean. But, because of her hair I would spend 2-3 hours at the self dog washed cleaning her myself, which always ended up costing almost as much as having her professionally groomed. Ok, Muddy Paws: great appointment hours and open on the weekends. Great location and easy to get to. Both the owner and the groomer were VERY friendly, making my quivering 65lb dog feel more at home and me feel good about leaving her with them. They called when she was finished, and she looked fabulous. They got a lot of fur off of her, I'm used to picking her up from groomers, where all they've done is loosened the fur and its flying everywhere. Not here, they obviously took their time. The owner also offered me a brush out instead of a full wash and groom, which is a nice option. Since most of the time is just brushing that she needs. Also, my dog was wandering around when I went to pick her up, not in a crate, which was nice to see. I've been two four different groomers in Denver and I've found one that I'm sticking with. Most that I've been to in Denver, treat grooming like a job and try and get done as soon as possible and without caring for the dog and the owner. Not here, they treated me and my dog very well. Holding my pup as he cried and whined through the whole thing (he hates getting his nails trimmed) and they were patient and through it all did a WONDERFUL job. Awful experience, the woman working there was completely frantic and rude when she tried to clip my dogs claws, which she was unsuccessful at and never apologized for. They have very watered down shampoo and conditioner and considering how bad and condescending the service is spending $16 to use a tub and some weak shampoo is not worth the price. We will never be back, her behavior was so rude and insulting that everyone in the shop was uncomfortable by it and she made my wife cry.
