I have been coming here for my cat's food/litter/toys etc for awhile now and have always had a great experience. We recently adopted a puppy and walked in having NO idea what we need for dogs. One of the managers helped us get their "Puppy Book" with coupons and walked us around helping us pick out the best products, NOT the most expensive ones, and ones that the coupons applied to. Although he kept getting calls and we told him he could go if he needed to, he stayed with us the entire time. Great customer service and help! Looking at coming here for puppy training! read more

My dog came away from these groomers a mess. He was terrified and the lady who did it was plain rude to me when I picked him up. They charged me extra because he had a mat behind his ear and extra to brush his teeth, extra if I wanted conditioner, etc. This was the worst experience we have had at a groomer. read more

Great hours- thanks for being open at 8am on a Sunday! My dog appreciates this since I forgot to buy a new bag of food earlier in the week and we were out! Large selection, nice layout, no complaints. read more

Every time I go to this location, the customer service is above and beyond. Friendly helpful staff for any pet needs.

The store "manager" is beyond rude & behaved extremely inappropriately. I would be ashamed to have someone like that representing my company. My friend works for Eukanuba. She has coupons for a free bag of dog food (still pay sales tax). These coupons are company manufactured & this woman refused the coupon to us. She claimed my friend was scamming her and refused to listen. I have never seen someone so rude to a customer. I have seen these coupons used across the united states while we travel. The "manager" was going to refuse to give the coupon back when my friend threatened to make a scene. She did return our coupon to us and we left with our bag of fully paid for dog food, because at the end of the day, our dogs have to eat either way. Extremely upset by this behavior. Not only was she rude to us but she made another customer get out of line and go find another associate because he asked a question when he arrived at her counter. I have used the same coupon at this location before and am unsure as to why there was some sort of disservice to my friend. I would rather go bargain with a sewer rat then return to this location. read more

This review is not for the store in its entirety, but rather for a specific training class. The trainer, Rachel, while a genuinely nice person, has no idea what she is doing as a dog trainer. I have worked with therapy dogs for 8 years, and in the past have found these classes to be a wonderful opportunity for socializing my dogs, and have had some really great trainers. Rachel, however, rapidly brushed over the skills that were supposed to be covered in the class, often improperly teaching them, or at times completely skipping very rudimentary cues - such as "sit". She would become distracted by other puppies in the store and leave the class for long periods at a time. When she was present, she had a habit of focusing on one or two specific dogs - not to teach them the requisite cues, but rather to to make the dogs catch treats that she threw at them. Always, I support training your dog. It creates a safe and strong bond between you and your canine companion. However, look elsewhere than the Glendale petsmart. read more

Best Petsmart I've ever been to! Apparently it's the biggest location in the continental U.S. The store is very clean and well maintained. The workers are friendly and super helpful. I adopted a kitten from there today and got such amazing help! I will definitely be coming back to this location! read more

Do not recommend banfield or the groomer. While my dog was there he apparently cut his nail so bad on the kennel that they had to transfer him to banfield from the grooming dept to get bandaged up! He was not groomed and had to go back in twice to replace and remove the bandage. They offered zero compensation or alternate grooming solutions when all of this happened at their locations. Also, they screw you over on the pet wellness plans which I won't even get into. read more

I'm not sure how to write this review because there are two parts to it. The first part is on the Pet Hotel, the second is on the grooming services. 1. Pet hotel. We recently went to California for a week and boarded our two Shiba Inu's here. They were well taken care of it seems. We called a couple times while we were gone to check up and see how they were doing since this was a first for them. We always received great reports, how they were doing, who they liked playing with, etc. Four stars for the hotel. 2. Grooming. Quite honestly I wouldn't bring my dogs back here to get them groomed. When we dropped them off for their stay we asked for them to be bathed and nails trimmed. We had to basically argue with the groomer chick that no we don't want the furmination, just washed, dried and nails trimmed. So we pick up our dogs and when we get them they are still damp. Umm, we told you a week ago that we would be in at 7pm to pick them up, we were there more like 8pm so we were an hour late and they were still wet? Then we get this story about how she couldn't trim their nails because they didn't like it and our girl dog punted her (she weighs 17 lbs...). So you are a "professional" dog groomer who can't trim a 17 lb dogs nails? No, the dog doesn't like having her nails trimmed, no dog does. I'm not a professional and I can trim her nails I just would rather not go through the hassle of her fighting it and pay someone to do it for me instead. Instead she tells us she furminated our dogs for 'free' because she couldn't trim their nails. I know my dogs shed and I brush them. I don't want them chemically treated so they won't. One star for the grooming. Thus my 2 star rating. read more

In desperate need of cat food, I raced over here after work only to arrive a few minutes after closing. There were still customers inside, so I tried to get the attention of an employee to see if I could quick grab the food and get out. Two employees made eye contact with me multiple times and proceeded to ignore me while I tried to plead with them through the window. Finally, one man saw me, listened to my request and let me in. I ran and grabbed the food and was out in under a minute. Even better, he was understanding and kind to me, despite my lack of preparedness and the inconvenience to his day. I'm grateful to this man who embodies the idea behind customer service and hope that the company can retrain the other employees to at least speak with a customer instead of blatantly ignoring them. If it weren't for this one kind person, I would switch my business to another company without a second thought. read more

I have been coming to Pet Smart off and on for ten years to have my doodles groomed. I have two large doodles and it usually runs $200 to get them groomed. Today I was charged $278 for my dogs to be butchered. They said they billed extra to de-mat, but shaved my dogs and did not take the time to brush out mats. They also called to reschedule after I booked, saying that my dogs require more time then the scheduler allotted for and my dogs would be there 7!hours if I didn't reschedule. They rescheduled and stated they would block their schedule to ensue there was enough time. They then put the onus on me to make sure I tell them to allow enough time for the large breed in future bookings (isn't that their job). It is clear they blocked theirs schedules and then tried to justify billing more money to make up for it. I will never return. This is terrible customer service for a terrible grooming job. Not to mention, the two previous times I scheduled my dogs, the groomer called in sick (both times)!. They have gone complete down hill and are charging outrageous amounts for subpar grooming. read more

Rachael is a wonderful trainer! The classes have been so great and our growing puppy has adapted so well with all the training!! We have completed the beginning and intermediate classes and plan to continue with the advanced classes. So worth the time and effort! Thank you Rachael! read more

The customer service has been nonexistent here today and that is not usual of this place.I have been here for about 20 minutes now and I have had paged customer service twice over the intercom and no one has yet to come. All thumbs down!!!!! The only reason why I come here is because they carry the cat food that I need. I am very upset and this is not cool finally the customer service has come. read more

This location is as expected. We dropped our dog off at the groomers. He was hyper. It took them 4 hours. I left specific instructions NOT to cut the eyelashes. I was out doing family activities and didnt pick him up. I was told my dog growled and showed teeth. My dog is so submissive. My dog only does that when he feels cornered. What did she do to cause that reaction. I was majorly pissed off because they cut his eyelashes! NEVER WILL I USE THEIR GROOMERS AGAIN. I dont trust how they handled my dog and other dogs. read more

So. This is the closest pet store to me so I frequent it quite often. I will get my dog/rabbit/cat food and supplies here, but I will NOT get treats or toys here because you can get them for much cheaper at petstation at Colorado and Iliff. I also took my puppy here for the beginner training course, which I really enjoyed. I had Leah as a trainer, and she was really fantastic and would go out of her way to help my dog, give him 1 on 1 time, et cetera. read more

Their grooming salon employees are extremely rude and unhelpful. They wouldn't take my puppy because she growled softly, as it was her first time in, and the groomer claimed that my puppy "nipped" at her, which isn't true; I was standing there watching. She made absolutely no attempt to get my puppy to warm up to her, she just dismissed us claiming she was "uncomfortable" with my 5 month old puppy who wouldn't hurt a fly. Just an overall weird and disappointing experience. I would have understood if there had been an incident or any legitimate reason to send us off, but this was completely unwarranted. The groomer also had dyed hair and several facial piercings, maybe that's why dogs are weary of her? Either way, if you're going to be a dog groomer, maybe you should start by knowing how to approach a dog. read more

I went in to Petsmart today..looking for HIlls prescription diet Renal food for my cat...Ocean fish... My boyfriend and I wanted to come in and speak to someone about their opinion on certain reptiles. We spoke to an older gentleman named David who not only gave us an hour of his time to give us as many details as he could about the pets we were interested in, but he also brought us through every single step - tank, food, decor, and printed out a handful of brochures for us to take home about our new pet fancy leopard geckos. He was extremely friendly and as a sales girl myself, I could not have been more satisfied with his help. My boyfriend feels the exact same way! I wish there was something else I could do to show my appreciation for David and his personality and attitude and knowledge. Aside from that, everyone here is extremely friendly and makes the shopping experience wonderful. read more

Don't leave your pet here! We boarded our 10 year old dog here and were very disappointed. They did not clean the suites regularly, they did not take our dog out of her suite for enough appropriate bathroom breaks and left her in her own mess for several days. Very very disappointing and upsetting. read more

My needs were simple, the service was fast and extremely friendly. The lady who helped me was funny, polite, and very knowledgeable (even though my needs were pretty simple- just beta fish). I searched and coming from downtown it appears this is the closest pet store, it didn't make much sense driving even further across town just to buy $5 worth of fish food from a more local store. read more

These five stars are strictly for our trainer, Trish. The store is great but Trish is amazing. She is knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. She gave us the tools we needed as first time dog owners. read more

If you call and ask if they have something, and they say they do, they really do. They will even hold it for you. This is not true of at least two other area petsmarts. They stock Romy's cat food in bulk, a rare find. Staff was always helpful and friendly. read more

I dropped my cat off to be groomed, was told it would take 2 hours... 4 hours later still nothing. I went in and was told he was "next" and would be 15 minutes. Another 2 hours later, he's still not ready. Do not use unless you are prepared to waste your entire day waiting around on them while they stand around doing nothing and keep your animal in a small cage. Torture! read more

We signed our new dog up for the group beginning training class that was $119 for six one hour classes. Unfortunately, we were the only ones who signed up so after waiting fifteen minutes after the class was supposed to start, we were told it was now canceled. We were then sold 2 hours (broken into 4 half hour appointments) instead since there were no group classes. We were looking forward to the group class so that we could have our dog play with other dogs, and would have appreciated a call before hand (they were supposed to call anyways to confirm but never did) because then we would have looked into another location or service. The trainer was great but we only received three of our four half hour classes (though one was abruptly ended after only 21 minutes). After our third of four classes, we were told our dog "graduated" and we would need to now spend $200 to enroll in other classes if we wanted to continue at all. I was incredibly confused because we had paid upfront for a total of four classes covering two hours, and had only done three classes (which only came out to 1 hour 21 minutes with the early class cut off the previous week). I'm only giving two stars because the trainer was great, but do not appreciate the scam for paying up front and then being denied the service we paid for. read more

Wouldn't recommend the grooming. The lack of awareness / skills for customer service is really the worst part. Had I been made aware that shaving a patch of my australian shepherds chest hair (that was uneven and he came home with a hot spot) was what had to be done to get the matting out, I could let it slide. Instead, after we are home I felt a small little spot of matting still under his leg and then the bald spot. Never again. read more

I stopped by Petsmart this morning on my way to a meeting. I was one of the first customers in the store this morning and was greeted by a dear cashier named, Karen. She was so friendly. The cash register was just waking up and she apologized because it was taking too long. I thanked her for having such great customer service. read more

Unfortunately we had such great experiences with the staff here when shopping. But the grooming was SO disappointing. We brought our four month old golden doodle in for his first haircut. We told them we wanted a trim, but to maintain his character. Instead, they buzzed the bridge of his nose like a Maltese with a trimmed nose, which makes his face square. It's disappointing because he literally looks like a different breed. This woman obviously didn't know what she was doing. They also cut his paw with the clippers. We will never be back. read more

Don't bring your dog here if it has a coat that requires any real care. Groomers don't show, they keep you waiting, they take way too long, and they up-charge you whenever they get the chance. You're far better off spending a few more bucks on an actual professional grooming salon. read more

No Stars. Filled out paperwork to adopt a cat this week. Very Exciting! We have a cat and are "the right" family etc. We visited the store each day while we waited the "up to 72 hours" for our paperwork to go through. I called yesterday to find out how things were going and spoke to the manager, Mike. This was at 4 PM. He told me to be patient and that someone would be calling us today, tomorrow at the latest. Very Excited parents and elementary-school-aged children! Today we stopped in to visit our cat again and were told that someone else took him home yesterday. WHHHAAATTT???!! Still -No one has called us. WOW! This is a policy issue. If someone had already put in paperwork to adopt, we should have been told that we were not first in line. Painful lesson. We will not return to the store nor will we adopt from the Adam's County Shelter. Awful! read more

I take my small dog here at least twice a week for the doggie day care. I love the staff here. They are so friendly and really love dogs. I normally hate a "corporate" atmosphere, but when it comes to doggie day cares, I actually prefer it. Some of the locally owned day cares are a little too casual about my dog and her special diet. At PetSmart, they have forms for everything, so that they are clear about what medications are needed, what her typical schedule is like, etc. Finally, I actually love the cheesy report cards you get when you pick your dog up. Sure, they are a little generic, but at least you know they focused on your dog enough during the day to be able to write something specific about what he or she did. At three other day cares I use, they just say, "Oh, she had a great time today." and hand you the leash. I see lots of other repeat customers, so I'd say this is a great place to take your dog! read more

I have left my dog in the hands of the Petsmart Hotel three times now. The last two times she comes home sick. Diarrhea and vomiting have followed. Since picking her up this last time, she has had diarrhea for two days. When I called the Pet Hotel and advised them of this, they said they were sorry. I wonder how clean the facility really is. The staff is always very nice and I like to think they take good care of her. I don't have many other options for my dog so I may take her back when needed. I just wish I knew why she was coming home sick. My dog hasn't been sick since the last time I took her to the Pet Hotel a year ago. read more

HORRIBLE. had a reservation for over 2 weeks with confirmed shots/vaccines. Took my dog on my way to the airport( because I had already called back 2x to double check everything, I was told everything was ok ) when I arrived they said she didn't have the correct vaccinations. Leaving me in a horrible position as I was on my way out of town. Had no sympathy and just so mismanaged and no commutation. I would highly recommend finding somewhere else. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The groomers section on this petsmart is atrocious. The customer service is just beyond bad to the point where I cannot believe these people were hired. I came in with my dog after making an appointment. I was already in the system as were my dog's medical records. When we arrive, the lady in the front tells me I need to have my updated rabies shot. My dog is up to date, but I did not have my papers with me. I had to drive back home about 25 minutes to get the paper for them to take him. I don't understand why they could not have informed me to bring the papers prior to the appointment. Then when I go to pick my dog up, I am standing there for 10 minutes while everyone just stood there behind the counter ignoring me until I finally said something. Not only that, I asked them to trim around my dogs private areas since he is long haired. They did no such thing. They did, however, give my dog a very choppy, uneven haircut. I will never return and I will make sure no one I know comes here in order to save them the money and time. You guys should be ashamed. read more

Worst service period. More expensive than boutique groomers. Dog nervous when goes their. Never again.

Don't bother to bring your cat in for grooming. They will book an appointment with you, but will say your cat is too aggressive before they even try. Penny said my cat was trying to bite and claw, something she's never done in the year that I've had her. read more

Please do not allow Brittany to groom your pet. I have been to this PetSmart for grooming needs in the past, and they have done ok, but after this past experience, I will not be going back. Before I even turned my dog over to Brittany, I was really turned off by her horrible attitude (rude, disrespectful and looked like she would rather be anywhere but there). I made the mistake of complaining to management before she even groomed my dog, so it shouldn't have been a surprise when I picked up my 6# dog and found her scalped (in near zero degree weather). My dog was definitely dirty and matted, but no worse than she has been in the past and she has never come out looking like this. If Brittany was my employee, she would be fired. I won't be back. read more

I brought my dog in for a grooming a few months ago. I received a voicemail that I saved on my phone (because it is so ridiculous and nobody would believe me otherwise) basically telling me to come pick up my dog and that they weren't able to figure out how to fix some sort of issue. I came in to see my dog bleeding all over the floor from his paws (to the point they had to get a mop to clean up all the blood) with one shave mark up his back. A woman grabbed him and handed him to me and said, "he wasn't a good fit." When I asked why my dog was bleeding and crying she refused to tell me. Luckily there is a Belcaro in the PetSmart and they were able, for lack of a better term, to glue his paws back together. When I told the Denver Doodles meetup group about my experience, the response was more or less, "oh yeah, it's common knowledge not to bring your dog to the PetSmart Glendale." read more
