I will not take my to to the Pet Hotel at this facility again. They were suppose to take my dog to banfields vet across the room after 3 requests they still fogot it. my bill was not correct, and my dog went from 64.5 Ib to 61.5 in one day and half of boarding. His coat was much shinier when he went in and he was extremely stressed when he came out .. He is been boarded many times other places never seen him so stressed coming out.. They said he ate all the food i supplied.. Well i supplied twice what I normally give them and I know this dog does not eat first few days when I leave in a different environment.. I expected him to loose weight and not eat but no so much and I just dont believe the fact that they said he ate all his food.. they said in the morning he pooped but not peed .. well.. that has never happened with me. He always does no 2 first.. ... nohing really jives here and they dont provide internet cameras in this day and age... Well not happy about this place.. looks like they need better training and managment and also dont trust that the staff reported the eating habbits honestly and I even wonder about the personal interaction time they charge extra... very disappointed read more

I've taken my dog (border collie mutt) here twice to get groomed and it always makes me a little nervous. Even though she's had an appointment both times, everyone still seemed thoroughly confused with what I wanted and who I was when I brought her in exactly on time. They tell you to leave them for up to 4 hours, which seems like a long time to me, considering I've made an appointment. And the dogs just get locked up in little kennels in the back. But my dog is very puffy and needed to get "carded" (it's like a de-shedding brushing treatment) and I wanted them to be thorough, so I went with it. I called after 4 hours and the lady had no idea what I was asking about. So I just jumped in the car to head down there and then got a call on the way that my dog was finished. She looked great, aside from ridiculous blue bows on her ears, but was so worked up when I got her that I knew she hated every second of it. But she has separation anxiety, so I can't really say that Petsmart is particularly stressful, or if it was just the whole experience of getting groomed. So overall, they seem a little disorganized, and it is a time commitment, but they do a good jod and my dog did look shiny and sleek and pretty when I picked her up. read more

Don't think you are going to bop in here on an evening after any amount of snow fall. Even though they post hours being until 9pm, they will close on a whim at 7pm and apparently because of weather. Yes, it snowed today but Colorado Blvd is clear now and what makes no sense is that conditions were FAR WORSE earlier in the day when the store would have opened. That's not cool when this store serves such a large area. The employee suggested Target. Seriously? If Target or any other chain carried the brand of dog food we use then I wouldn't even bother with driving to PetsMart which isn't particularly close anyway. I have a suggestion: Petco! read more

I am one unhappy customer. My BF brought my dog to the pet hotel, and they had an opening to groom him at the end of the day. They said to pick him up at 830. I get there early, and they complain that he'd been ready. I had no missed calls. They knicked his skin, and his haircut is so terrible :( can't wait for it to grow back. He is a shaggy dog, and they shaved him all the way down. WILL NOT BE BACK read more

TERRIBLE! DO NOT EVER BUY AN EXPENSIVE ITEM THERE! The manager told me that if I had bought a less expensive dog collar, I could exchange it, but since I bought a collar that was in a locked area, and was expensive, I had to go to the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer and they told me that I had to pay an additional $50.00 plus shipping to exchange the collar. Ridiculous! read more

I've brought my teacup chihuahua here a few times to get his nails cut, which I thought would be easy because he is so small. They say that nail cuts are priced by the breed of dog. Well, each time I went in they gave me a different price! (Between $8-12). Once I got them down to $8 the guy reached across the counter, and snipped all of the nails real fast. He wasn't extremely careful, and I noticed that none of the nails were the same length, and he barely trimmed some of them at all. This meant that I had to get them trimmed again earlier than normal, which was annoying. While I haven't found anywhere cheaper yet, I am sure that there is somewhere better and more thorough. read more

This place is depressing and gross! After the experience with customer service I have had here...I drive longer to Petco even though Petsmart is across the street. Also my neighbor took her dog here for the daycare and another dog ended up trampling him causing a $600 bill...most daycares watch their dogs which obviously PetSmart doesn't. read more

Unhelpful sales staff. Won't be returning but buy food online instead at Chewy.com

Awful service. I scheduled an appointment via phone. When I got to the store, they took quite a long time to figure out who I was and find the correct appointment. After I checked in my pup and left, they called me 2 minutes later saying that he wasn't going to be able to be groomed. They put him in a cage (in the 2 minute time frame) and couldn't get him out. Mind you, my dog is 15 lbs and 15 years old, which I told them he was old. They took zero care and zero sensitivity towards me and my pup. Horrible service. read more

Do not go to the Banfield at Petsmart. At the annual check-up of my two dogs in August I was told "everything was taken care of for the visit." I came to find out in January that the heartworm test was not performed and when I attempted to buy more heartworm medication I was told "I declined" the tests at my appointment in August...which I did not. I was then informed that the test could be performed now but I would have to pay not only paid for the service but on top of that ANOTHER office visit for BOTH dogs. Banfield is trying to increase its profit off of unneccessary office visits for loyal customers. This is a scam and I did not expect it from what should be a good store. read more

We have been going to this location ever since we got our goldendoodle a year and a half ago. We buy food here, take our dog to dog day care, and also use banfield for shots and sick visits, and have been extremely impressed with the service. Everyone we have met has been super nice and very helpful. On the few rare occasion that a mistake was made (one time they forgot to wash our dog after daycare when we requested it) they have always gone way above and beyond to fix the problem and make it right. Normally Im not a big fan of giant corporate Walmart kind of places but this place doesn't even seem like that with the people they have working here. read more

I'm just pissed they did her anal glands when I told them not to. Lack of communication I suppose. I'll be taking my dog somewhere else.

I went in tonight. It started out a little ruff with miscommunication and with me being 30 mins late due to bad roads...but the staff took very good care of me and my four legged love. Staff was friendly and thoughtful, I will be returning and Banfield will be my pup's new care clinic. Thank you read more

This review is also for the pets hotel. I hope none of the "less than 5 star" reviews are for the Pets Hotel. These folks are AMAZING. I'm not one to write reviews, and I truly felt compelled to come on to Yelp this evening after having yet another wonderful customer service experience picking my dog up today. If you want somewhere to leave your pup/cat and know that they are being treated like royalty, this place is it. They are amazing. I have three doggy day cares closer to me and to this day we make it a point to spend the extra 10 minutes on the road to bring them to the Alameda Pets Hotel. A+++ We love them! read more

I brought my dog in to get her nails clipped. She is a rescue dog and has a fear of groomers and vets so we always muzzle her at home in a positive way. They didn't say anything about her muzzle when I brought her in and I explained that we do it because she growls and we don't want to take any risks. A man took her back, I walked around the store and got called back almost right away because they TOOK THE MUZZLE OFF! They told me after the fact that it was policy it use their own muzzle but that couldn't get the other muzzle on. Why would you take a muzzle off a dog in the first place? Also, had they told me this when I dropped her off I wouldn't have allowed them to do that and would have asked that they basket muzzle her over he muzzle or I would have taken her elsewhere. So now I have a dog that needs her nails clipped and will have to go through the whole ordeal of trying to re muzzle her. I am just thankful my dog didn't bit the genius that though taking a muzzle off a dog was a dog was a good idea in the first place. read more

Wow. Just wow. Came here today to get my puppy's nails trimmed. Walked in and had to wait 10 minutes to get greeted. Felt like we were a bother rather than a customer. Mind you...the women that were working the grooming service all looked like they had just woken up and/or didn't want to be there. Finally get checked in, and I hear the lady that took my dog say to another dog groomer: "This is Tucker." The other lady says: "Is that a boy?!" (My puppy is a female) The other lady says back: "No." and she laughs. So I go to pay for my puppy's nail trimming, and I come back and watch her through the window. Nail trimming lady obviously isn't watching her well enough, and my puppy nearly falls off the table and hangs herself. Are you kidding me?! Then I go to the front to take my puppy home after she's done being neglected, and I hear the lady say to her: "Tucker! Leave the Pomeranian alone!" First of all...don't yell at my puppy. Secondly...my puppy is very friendly...let her say hi. She hands off my puppy to me and doesn't say thank you or anything. Definitely won't be coming back here. And I'll make sure to spread the word about how y'all treat animals. read more

The worst service I have ever received. I had a scheduled appointment to bring my pet in for grooming. We arrived early and the salon did not look busy. Jaclyn the groomer took my dog, I went over the instructions I had given her, and asked her to call me once my dog is ready to be picked up. This was at 1130am. I have an 11 year old pitbull mix female with very short hair but she's been shedding a lot of hair given the time of the year. I specifically asked Jaclyn to add special shedding treatment to this service and agreed to pay extra. Three hours later I called the salon to check on my dog, come to find out that my pet was caged in the kennel for the last 3 hours and nobody had gotten to her yet. I was very irritated since we had a scheduled appointment and inquired about the reason. Jacqlyn was rude and agitated with me asking a legitimate question as to why my dog has been sitting in the kennel the entire time up until I called. She told me my pet will be ready in one hour although I know that it typically takes longer to bathe, brush and use de-shedding treatment. Sure enough 45 minutes later I receive a call from this Jaclyn telling me my dog is ready to be picked up. I arrived to the salon to find my pet with bloodshed eyes (probably the soap), bruised ears with bloody marks, shaking and stressed out. Jaclyn was nowhere to be seen and some other female groomer brought my dog out. The dog's coat was covered in dandruff from the shampoo and hair was still shedding (as if no treatment was performed) which I strongly suspect was not done given the fact how quickly my dog was ready. If you ever take your pet to this grooming salon - do not schedule it with Jaclyn! She's is rude, seemed overworked and necrotic, extremely unprofessional by lying to me. I will never ever spend another dollar at this horrible place! read more

Worst experience ever! I decided to board my two cats here due to one of them needing medication twice per day. I was assured that the cats would be together (they are extremely bonded and get very agitated when apart). The cat that needs medication is the most relaxed, tolerant cat I have ever met - anyone can do almost anything to him, and he will not fight, bite, or scratch. He has done extremely well in other boarding settings. NOT HERE! I received a phone call and was told that my cat had not received his medication for TWO DAYS. This was the first phone call I had received, despite the staff person claiming they had called. I was staying in San Francisco, and there were no cell phone reception problems. IMO, they outright lied. When I went to pick up the cats, they were not only in separate cages, one was on top of the other, so there was no way they were together. The staff who take care of the pets seem to all be teenagers/young adults with no experience with cats or how to interact with them. My cats returned home traumatized and were neurotic for about a week. It was the worst experience I've ever had with cat boarding. I wish I could give them zero stars. read more

We recently boarded our dog at the pet hotel in Glendale. I was told he'd have unlimited potty breaks and two walk/outings each day of his stay. I called the morning after his first overnight to check on him and was told he wasn't eating his food and was a little homesick/blue which is totally normal for our dog when he's away from home. We picked him up the following afternoon, paid, and walked outside. He peed immediately upon walking out of the building and three more times on our walk to the car - dripping pee as if he'd been holding his bladder for two days. His "area" was inflamed and didn't look normal. Their idea of unlimited potty breaks means the dog can go whenever he/she pleases inside their kennel. My dog is loyally housebroken and held his pee for God knows how long! To top it off, they gave me a report card of how the stay went and it was marked that he did awesome, ate great, pottied great, and "can't wait to stay again" ... I know he didn't eat great, was homesick, and didn't go potty for two days, I think we can definitely wait to stay again. Forever. read more
