I came here to buy pet mice, and was pleasantly surprised with the knowledgeable and helpful staff. After having been in pet stores where reports of bleeding animals go unresponded to, I was happy to see that these reps really knew what they were talking about in terms of the animals' temperaments and care, and spent time holding and talking to the animals affectionately. I've been here multipled times now and I remain impressed with the service. Their supply of bird houses was minimal, and were for some reason covered in bird poop. But the staff was still able to answer questions about bird houses for various bird types, and was able to suggest another location to get the birdhouse we needed. Unlike Petco, the staff seems willing to spend time with customers and really seems to care for the pets. She was gentle in caring for them and treating my new pet in a way so as not to let her 'freak out'. Toni answered all my questions and walked my new pet up to the register. read more

Update: Jennifer cut my dog's hair and he came home looking good, smelling sweet, and bouncing around! He looks so handsome now with his new hair cut for the summer! She did exactly as I asked and even made a few adjustments without making my dog look like a mongoose. I'm very happy with the end result and everything cost me less than $45! Looks like Kai (my dog) found himself a permanent groomer! (My dog even kissed her goodbye before we went home too! Haha!) Thank you Meghan from the grooming department for really helping our Kai out! He had a very minor flea/tick problem but she treated it with the utmost care. I being a bit picky about his treatment because I know that if unsuccessful, we'd have a really big problem in our house. Either way, she was really nice and even gave our little man some Advantage drops (those drops are expensive if purchased separately!) and everything cost us only $20. She even told us how cooperative Kai was when she groomed him! Haha! That morning, I had called in at 10:30 am to see if I could drop him off that same day because he was itchy and stuff. So we dropped off our dog at 11 am and promptly got him back at 2:30 pm as promised. I was so satisfied with the service, I made another appointment with this place to get my puppy his haircut. I really recommend this Petsmart grooming dept. but highly advise staying away from their Banfield Hospital! read more

I haven't actually purchased anything from this Petsmart, but I sometimes foster cats and they are held here over weekends for Pet Auctions. The cages are fairly clean, but the facilities are not great. Once I went to the pet grooming center the next station over and nearly vomited from the smell. No it wasn't feces or anything, but it smells so strongly of dog that I could barely breathe. Once when I was walking around, I almost slipped in a small puddle of urine. The foster organization complains that no one checks on the cats over the weekend unless we literally force them to. The only reason I didn't give this a 2 or lower is because I have gotten to know the weekend manager and he is a very nice and polite person and we chat a little every time I pick up and drop off animals. read more

We had been talking about getting me a fish tank for the longest time. When I was asked to be the new home for a "shy fish", I gave in and decided, ok, fine, I'm sure we can move some furniture around to put a fish tank--and that we did, and it was time to go shopping for the tank. This was our first stop to look at what types of stands that Petsmart had. Since the tank was going into my bedroom, I wanted to get something a little nicer. The selection that they had at this location wasn't all that great, so we decided to elsewhere. Petsmart has the best priced dog/cat food I've come across so far. The staff is friendly and helpful. Try not to go during "peak" shopping hours because the lines can get pretty backed up. Banfield pet hospital is inside of Petsmart and my doggy has always had a quality experience with them as well. Note to Dog Owners: Please do not let your dogs run unsupervised on those super long retractable leashes. I came here looking for items for a hamster. One of the associates was friendly enough and helped me with finding the area that I needed and she was also informative. While I was here, I noticed they had a large section for cats, dogs, and fish. But for smaller animals- they only carried basics. I was hoping to maybe find reptiles in this store but they only carried less then a handful and were located on an end-cap. That was unfortunate but I guess I can for somewhere else for them. Even though they didn't have the animals in the store, they did care the supplies for them. It looks like they offer other services such as training and veterinary services as well. read more

Went there yesterday to find pedicure items, and treats for my 2.5 lb Chihuahua. For both items, I was stopped by two different sales associates and given fantastic information. Not only did they very professionally steer me away from some faulty and non healthy items, but gave me great advice on the items I did purchase. My sister had called PetSmart grooming to see if we could squeeze in a last minute haircut for my baby before Thanksgiving. Luckily they had one spot one but they needed to confirm if he was up to date on his rabies vaccine so she said she would call them back. Instead, I verified and called back to see if i can schedule that same appointment, but this time a guy picked up. He gave us a bit of grief but when I told him that we had already talked to someone who said they had an appointment, he reluctantly let us take that spot. well, off to a rough start... We get there, and Luisanna (I forgot the name.. sorry!) was awesome!!!! Right off the bat, she was so nice and friendly. She gave my baby the cutest haircut. Sometimes it's tough to find an employee but I always end up finding one eventually. They do just well enough to keep me coming back... Showed up for their walk in nail trimming service. I was turned away and told they were no longer accepting dogs for the service because they were short staffed. Seriously?!?!?!? What a huge inconvenience seeing as how I had to drive 25 minutes to another Petsmart for the service. Don't offer a walk in service if you do not have enough staff! read more

I have taken my dog here for grooming a few times since it was very convenient and the store hours are longer than others. It was okay the first few times so I always took him back just for the convenience. However, it has been consistently bad the last two times so I had to write a review, and just FYI, I'm not bringing him back again. Although the groomers were very nice there were a few things that I could not accept: 1) they used the wrong blade on one of the sides so my dog's hair was longer on one side of his body. She specially said that she forgot to change the blades out from the previous grooming session. It was so obvious so I had to put a sweater on him to cover that up. 2) there was a system glitch and all changes made couldn't be reflected. Their system kept wiping out my dog's rabies shot record so I had to bring that in every time he gets a cut. 3) for a few times they did not clean out my dog's ear because he was being too "aggressive" even tho it came with our package. 4) we have found cuts on his body from the last 2 visits. read more

Ok, so I will start with what the groomer told me after I complained: "If you don't like it, then you shouldn't come to PetSmart". Do I need to say more? Didn't get her name but she picked up the phone on Feb 17 at 6:46pm.  I left my dog to take a simple bath at 4 pm today and they said he was going to be ready by 6, which to me already sounded like a long time for a simple bath (knowing the majority of time he'd be locked in a cage), but ok, still within reasonable timeframe. No sign of him so I called and they said he was going to be ready only at 7:30! 3 and a half hours after I left him, which is not only an absurd but disrespectful to the customer and worse, it is cruel to the animal. Everytime I go there I hear these screaming dogs locked in cages, so you can imagine the terrible environment your dog has to endure for that many hours.  The groomer told me it always takes 3-4 hours, and I told her that they can't keep a dog locked for that long for a bath that should take 40-60 min. She then said  "if you don't like it, don't come to PetSmart". What an excellent customer service, huh?  If you can't keep a schedule, go out of business! I'll be sure to NEVER come back for sure. Not only for grooming but for anything else. I'll make sure my friends who care about their dogs to never step in PetSmart stores again. read more

I don't shop at Petsmart for food, etc, but I just had my short haired Chihuahua groomed at their groomery. Let me just say the girls here are AWESOME! They took the time to explain all the services to me and only offered what was needed, they weren't pushy at all. Since it was his first time there, they recommended he stay for a full three hour appointment, instead of a one hour express appointment, so that he could be better socialized and acclimated to groomer visits. I was so nervous about leaving him with strangers all afternoon, but at 5:00, exactly three hours after he was dropped off, I got a message from April, saying that Chulo was all ready to picked up and she told me how great he was and how much she loved him! I immediately felt so much better about my decision to take him here and was relieved to know how caring she was. When I arrived at the grooming department to pick him up all three girls in there were wonderful and so sweet! I told them how nervous I was to leave him for the afternoon, and they all assured me how much they loved dogs, all had families and pets and all the special care they gave to the animals. Unfortunately, April had already gone home, but they all told me how much she loved my little guy and she said to call anytime and she will fit him in! My little boy jumped into my arms, wagging his tail and kissing me all over. He smelled absolutely wonderful and even had a cute little bandanna on... he got a bath, a good brushing, his nails trimmed and ears cleaned all for $16. But don't forget to tip your groomers when they take such good care of your beloved pets! Chulo has short hair so I cant comment on trimming, but both times I was in there two dogs were on the table being trimmed, and the girls were really careful, and the dogs seemed very relaxed and comfortable. Also, make sure your dog has their rabies vaccine and you can show proof of it for their first visit... they won't see them without it. I made that mistake the first time I took him in so I ended up taking him to the vet in Petsmart, Banfield, to get his vaccine... thats a whole other review, but bottom line, do not take your pets to Banfield... a $20 rabies vaccine ended up costing $107, and they recommend a lot of unnecessary vaccines and procedures. Trot gets his hair did here, and we love the service. They love seeing him come in, and when they call to tell me he's done they say "you're baby is ready". I am always happy with the grooming they do, although the teeth brushing is 50/50: I think they just forget to do it sometimes. When shopping in the store, I usually know what I want/need, so haven't needed a lot of support and/or service. The times I have needed some help, I've been treated well. The cashiers always want to know what kind of dog His Royal Highness is, and love to give treats and pets. read more

Twice in a row I've had patronizing service at this location. Today, I put my credit card in the reader, and the screen remained on the Pet Smart app ad. I told the associate this, she said to hit a donation button. I told her it was on the app ad. She moved the reader so she could see it, and as she jostled the screen flashed the donation screen then went back to the ad. I told her it's still on the ad screen and she said no it's not, she saw the donation screen. Why would an associate basically tell a customer that he is lying, or infer he's stupid? PetSmart overall is okay, though I've found the fish section rather disappointing.In the past 1week, we bought 10 fish,3 fish already DIED.The fish's symptoms showed that they were ill.The possibilities of what made the fish sick could be the that the fish tanks are too crowded. They put 7-9 large angel fish in a 29 gallon tank, when most marine biologists suggest that the minimum tank space for angel fish should be 55 gallons.Another failing I've noticed is that there are dead fish littering the tank floor.Whatever killed them could have gotten to the other fish.In addition,the staff are very inexperienced.When I asked the guy 'helping' us, for one male and one female guppy, he said,"Heck, I can't tell em' fish apart by gender;''Sorry, bud.''But on the other hand my friend who is a 10 year old, she could tell that one was a male and the other one was female.PetSmart should really change it's employees or train them better.Ergo, now I'm just going to visit PetCo instead. -Sincerely, Ved s. read more

I like this store. The kids who work there seem to love animals and they take an interest in your pet needs. Getting assistance is not hard, but you do need to look around to find someone. The prices are too high, unless you are buying something on sale, though. The store is convenient and I like it because it does not have a bad smell like a lot of other pet stores. I am not fond of the events that they have at these stores. I just want to buy my supplies and don't care to see the police dogs, the kittens for sale and everyone else's dog. read more

Horrible customer service. AVOID! I had been going for a few times because they were the closest. However,I tried taking my dog there , with an appointment, only to be told they couldn't help me. Why didn't they call?? I went again today and was a few minutes late and claimed they couldn't take me again. I explained that I had been told again and again that the appointment time as a general time frame and I didn't have to be there right on time. That's when they pulled the nastiest attitude. One of the little stupid idiots snarkily told me to show up on time next time. I lost it. How dare she tell me what to do and in such a attitude. My dog had a lot of matted balls and i pointed out several to them. Sure enough, all but one were still there after I picked him up. Took my puppy in for a haircut had a bad feeling when I walked into the salon and I should've stopped it there but I took a Leap of faith and Showed the tattooed girl A picture of the cut I wanted which was basically a trim on the body leaving the head and tail long she even took a picture with her phone and then two hours later proceeded to call me to let me know that she messed up bad they had butchered my beautiful fluffy puppy they didn't charge me but they werent very apologetic and the manager tried to blame it on my puppy not even knowing what went on saying well maybe he wasn't behaving I said too late your employee already called me to say she was the one who messed up needless to say nothing is cheap without a reason! read more

I always like the people who work at this store, it reminds me of a small hometown pet store. Altho I am against the sale / cruelty of those poor birds who have to endure the dole and boring life of sitting in the cages of PetSmart, the store is not flashy, the prices are reasonable, they have great sales. and they have taken an expired coupon or two. Kudos to the manager: GREAT JOB ! i don't know about you, but I plan to shop here until whenever. The store is in the perfect spot, they have the best coffee-to-go over at the little coffee shack in the parking lot, and they are next to the nicest family market on the planet. My daughter's hamster recently died and she was very sad. She wanted a new one and was looking for a specific hamster. We were lucky enough to get help from Tommy, who was very friendly and empathetic towards us. Not only did he find exactly what she was looking for, he showed us what we needed for the new hamster. He also answered all of her questions very patiently and gave very useful information about how to disinfect her old cage so it would be safe for her new hamster. So far, Tommy has been the best employee we have encountered at PetSmart. read more

I had two scheduled grooming appointments at 9 AM.....duh...the store opens at 9 am. That is when groomers show up, counter people, checkers, lights and computers are turned on for the day. Soooo...if everyone is on time, you only have to wait 15-20 minutes before they are ready! (Most business would have their employees show up 30 minutes early) I am a senior....all senior prices for dog grooming are discounted on Tuesdays only! My groomer could never squeeze me in, so she gave me same discount on a day when they had time. (that seems so thoughtful and much more reasonable anyway!) Yesterday, I brought both my dogs at 9 AM.....scheduled appointments for both....nobody was ready for at least 20 minutes or more. My dogs were there for over 3 hours before they were ready. I had made 3 trips to try to rescue them. I was charged MORE then I had ever been charged, I was referred to the Manager who was short with me, and rude. She claimed Discounts were on Tuesday only, she also said my dogs were there "over the limit" and should have been picked up earlier (does that mean ...READY..or..NOT?") I found out they have only 3 groomers or so now. I was overcharged about 30% more for my dogs grooming, upon leaving, I announced I will never be back. Associates are pleasant, cooperative and the best, but the lady manager attitude was unforgiving and leaves a lot to be desired. (I have had about 3 years former pleasant experience.) read more

You gotta REALLLLLYYYYYYY piss me off to get a 1! and this place REALLLLLLYYYY pissed me off. I brought my dog here when she was 4 months old to get trimmed. I didn't have much experience with dogs at that point, so this was the only place I knew of to get my dog groomed. I called and made an appointment and dropped off my dog. They said it would be about 4 hours. Cool. 4 Hours passes and there is no call from the place. I decide its no biggie, until another hour passes. I call just to check on things and come to find out she had been done! I went to go pick up my dog. When the groomer comes out its a young girl who looks like she went through a weeks training and got promoted from stocking shelves to grooming dogs. Well Petsmart you made a BIG FREAKIN MISTAKE by putting her there. Check who your putting in your grooming department because what I experienced from that point out was horrible! First thing I noticed was the girl looked all pissed off and my dog was shaking. She literally shoved my dog into my arms like she had been holding a bag of dog feces and said "She was moving a lot so I couldn't do a good job." I looked and my dog looked tore up from the floor up!! Her hair on her face was cut all different lengths and made her look so bad! I never thought this cute yorkie could look so bad!!! The worse part was yet to come. I looked at her stomach and there were cuts and she was bleeding!!!!!! I normally shop at independent pet shops. On this particular occasion I decided to shop around to find the best price on Flea Control products. When calling around and searching online I found that Petsmart had the best deal and the website said "Offers Valid In-Store and Online." So I make the trip out of my way to get the Flea product. Once I reach the register to pay, the product rings up for $70, whereas it said $42.99; Offers Valid In-Store and Online. The cashier cannot help me and calls over her manager. If she hadn't called him her manager it could have fooled me. He didn't dress the same as the other employees or like any Petsmart employee I've seen. I showed the manager the website. He tried to act confused and tried to grab my i-phone from me.. as if him holding the phone would make the website change in his favor. It was clear as day on the site. So he brings over a sign that says $10 off Flea Care for Canines. (I was shopping for cat flea control) Then he marks down the product to $60 and says "there." There? That isn't the price. At this point I was starting to become less than patient with getting messed with. The website lured me in by saying the offer is valid in-store, then you get there and they pulled the bait and switch. Since I was getting upset, he told me I needed to go print out the page of the website. I asked him if I needed to print it out, why didn't it say that online? It said offer valid in store; that's simply how it should ring up. Now if I knew they'd mess with me, I could have printed it out and brought it with me but I didn't think that was necessary since it's THEIR OWN PRICE. So he was asking me to drive 15min back home, print it out, and drive 15min back. Long story short, Petsmart does not honor their own advertised prices, even though they say "VALID IN-STORE". This is very unprofessional as a business, and is actually illegal as false advertising. I went to the Petsmart website to find a corporate contact to make a complaint about the store... wouldn't you know it, there is no contact for in-store problems anywhere even on their corporate site. I really dislike Petco but they're looking good to me now in comparison. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this store closes. With so much competition, 2 major things can set you apart; 1) Service 2) Prices. The service is terrible, the prices are bait and switched, then the manager sends you away to print something he can clearly see on his own website as their own advertised IN-STORE price. When a manager sends you out of the store, the chances that you come back are very poor, and that's lost business. Since I'm already having to print it out, I took it to another store to price match and spared myself another terrible experience. The flea control item was the last one in stock so I asked the manager to hold it for me while I had to drive across town to print a piece of paper. With the way I was treated, I'm pretty sure had I brought the paper back, he would have sold the product before I returned or arranged some other sort of hoop to jump through. Not a single time was I told "sorry for the inconvenience." Customer Service is dead in this store. I'm not surprised at the sign at the front of the store Hiring for All Positions including Management. I think they need to hire a replacement. An apology would be nice. I was treated like garbage simply for being a customer making a purchase. That's not how you treat someone supporting your business. If I could give 0 stars, I would. It was 10 mins before closing and I called to see if they could wait until I got there to close because I wanted to buy something but they said they close at 9PM. Okay that's fine but I just thought I'd ask so I drove like mad and got there at 8:59PM and the doors were already closed! The guy told us "we're closed" and left us outside! Did they not just say they open until 9PM? So it's okay if you have customers already inside but at 8:59PM, you shut the doors. That makes no sense. Took my baby boy Louie who is 6 months to get his first hair cut. He was shaking and so scared when I dropped him off. His groomer, Neivia Greeted us and took such amazing care of him. There's a reason why this place is rated so low. Tried going here on Black Friday and they shut the doors early. I only needed one thing and they argued with me saying they already closed the register... I have worked in retail before why are you shutting the register down before closing time? I get it's Black Friday and must be an annoying day to have to work but if you close at 9:00 PM you close at 9:00 PM. Not before then. Extremely terrible customer service especially from the rude girl named Katie who has an extreme attitude problem. Again I understand today may have been a stressful shift but people need things for their pets. They are living creatures with needs and someone who doesn't understand this probably should not be working at a place like pet smart. You don't get to close early just because you've had a stressful day. It's selfish and it's literally what you get paid for. If you don't want to stay until closing time that's fine but maybe work an earlier shift or find somewhere that closes earlier than nine. Took my shi-tzu today for a walk-in PAWDICURE which i believe is 20 dollars,dont get me started on the attitude the girls that work there have.. anyways this girl didn't catch her name ,helped me book in since it was our first time there she asked me a bunch of questions and at the end I chose the PAWDICURE SERVICE.. online and in stores it states that SERVICE INCLUDES: NAIL TRIM & GRINDING LIGHT FEET TRIM & PAD SHAVING EAR CLEANING AND HAIR REMOVAL COLOGNE SPRITZ BOW OR BANDANA First of all they did trim and grind her nails and they also cleaned her ears.. but they DID NOT TRIM HER PAWS ,THEY DID NOT PUT COLOGNE OR EVEN PROVIDE A BOW OR BANDANA I mean come on!! I didn't say anything because I usually don't but then i realized that WTF I PAID FOR THIS SERVICE I SHOULD'VE GOTTEN ALL OF IT NOT JUST HALF OF IT !! I really hope management see this and they really work on this.. really this shouldn't be happening and for what I've seen on the reviews(that I should have looked at first) I should've gone somewhere else.. but lesson learned so IF U REALLY WANT A HALF DONE JOB AND U LOVE TO WASTE MONEY COME TO THIS LOCATION!! This store is very convenience to my place so I do usually shop here. However, lately, I found their services to be lacking. We went in to get some fish and there were no helpers at the fish department. I went to the counter and asked them to sent someone to help. They did, but helped someone else, When she was done helping the customer and started to walk away, I stopped her and asked for service. She told me to wait and walked away. Then, second person came, and immediately waited on another customer. By that time, we have waited at least ten minutes and decided not to get any fish from here. While we were waiting in line to pay, both workers finally caught up with me and I told them I waited long enough for the service, and first worker explained to me she was walking around and asked if anyone needed service.
