We have two mid to large size dogs, and we've never been a fan of cleaning up the yard. I had a scooper at another house and she no longer serviced Mt. I was looking for a sitter for my dog and two cats while we were away on vacation for a week and a half. I emailed a number of pet sitters I found on yelp with the intention of interviewing a lot of candidates. I admit my emails were a little verbose when it came to describing my pets and their caregiving needs. Of the responses I got, Gini's stood out as the best. She clearly read my whole email and even took the time to visit links I included to their catster and dogster profiles. She also answered in great detail the different options and pricing of pet care they could provide as I wasn't sure if I wanted to board my dog instead of leaving him at home along with the cats. Upon meeting Gini and Scott for an interview, I knew immediately I could trust them. They are both friendly, warm and clearly knowledgable about caring for animals. One of my cats is very high maintenance: needing daily medication and special food. At the time of the interview, he was also having trouble eating. I was having to hand feed him. The possibility of this didn't phase them nor did she raise the price of the quote she gave me. So I was a little disappointed when Gini later informed me that their recent hire, Kevin, would be caring for my pets instead of them. But after meeting Kevin, I felt at ease. He was very attentive to my instructions and asked all the right questions. He also has a gentle disposition and my cat and dog took to him right away. Kevin turned out to be fantastic. We had him care for our cats (ended up boarding the dog). He sent me multiple emails over the course of our trip, keeping me updated on my babies. Despite my confidence in Kevin, I still worried a little about the cats. Moe, the high maintenance cat, is also scared of strangers, so poor Kevin had to "hunt" for him under sofas and beds in order to make sure he got his meds. But by the end of our trip Kevin gained Moe's trust. Kevin sent me a photo of Moe sitting in his lap letting him pet him. Once I saw that, I was no longer worried. Lastly, I want to mention that their rates were very reasonable. I gathered many quotes from different caregivers and while they were all fairly comparable, it was the special needs of my one cat that tended to skew the rate higher with other vendors. Gini did not charge extra for giving my cat medication. I highly recommend Dog Duty and will definitely call on them again when the need arises. They go above and beyond and really love the dogs they care for, they offer a wide range of services, and they offer very reasonable rates (some of the lowest I could find when I was looking). What more could you ask for? Long story: My dogs are spoiled. I spent a long time looking online at reviews for dog walkers and interviewing folks. When I met Gini and Scott, I, and my dogs (even the shy one) instantly fell in love. For years now Dog Duty has been taking extraordinary care of my little love bugs. They are always here when I need them, always flexible when I need them to be, and going above and beyond to do little things outside of their job description when they see that it's in the dogs' best interest or could make my life a little easier (cleaning up destroyed toy bits that have been scattered around the house, giving the dogs extra snuggles, taking them on a little adventure, helping with training, sending some of the best dog photo updates). When I've had to leave the dogs overnight, Dog Duty stays in my house so my dogs can be comfortable at home and not have to sleep alone (remember how I said they are spoiled?). When I've been home horribly sick and needed them to come walk the dogs despite being home, I swear the dogs get almost as excited to see them as me! And, if you're not convinced yet, my dad hired them at my suggestion to take care of his pets while he was out of town once and loved the work they did so much he ended up deciding to add regular walks into the dogs' schedules and now Dog Duty goes to his house regularly too not only to walk the dogs but also to comb them and help with vet visits. If you want a company that's going to just be setting their timer for 30 minutes and dutifully walking your dog(s) before dropping them off and charging you a high fee, fine, go with someone else. But, if you want someone reasonably priced that's going to love your dog as much as you do and make sure your dog has a blast for at least 30 minutes before they bring them home for a quick snuggle before they visit the next pup, hire Dog Duty. read more

Gini is a Fairy Dog Mother!!!!!!!!!! Gini has been walking our weiner dog every week day since July of 2009. She always goes above and beyond for Cody. Although we pay for her to walk him for 30 minutes a day, most of the time, she takes him for a few hours. Cody has totally changed since Gini started walking him. He would bark all day long, and stay up all night. Now, he usually is pretty exhausted when we get home from work. She spends time training him on her walks, so he is just a better behaved dog in general. When she stays at our home, she always cleans up after herself. Its like she was never there.
