    Extension of my previous review because it was off putting that this business would prefer to deflect than accept feedback. 1. Regarding my pup contracting Giardia--I already stated in my original review that I understand parasites are common and my puppy was probably more susceptible, so I wasn't placing blame on the facility. Just a warning that these things happen. However I would like to point out that my dog did not go anywhere else besides home and their facility (since theyre insinuating that it could've been contracted elsewhere). Additionally, the fact that Furrtropolis requires a negative fecal test every 6 months is a warning in itself that any dog could be carrying a parasite between that time, so this requirement isn't full proof. This is just the nature of daycares and boarding facilities, and it wasn't the sole reason I decided we wouldn't be returning. 2. Regarding kennel cough--again just spreading the warning of what my dog experienced coming back from the facility. I'm fully aware they don't have control over the health of every dog that enters. 3. Records show that we were in contact, because as I stated in my review, I would have to continously badger the staff in order to get any updates. Yes, responses were prompt but that wasn't the issue. It was getting updates to begin with, without me having to reach out on the 4th day of boarding to ask how things went. I've seen other boarding places have cameras or provide daily updates (on meals, training sessions, nap time, etc)--totally fine if this isn't one of those places and you're a dog parent that doesn't mind. It's just not for me. *I also want to clarify that I directly expressed to the staff multiple times of wanting more communication/updates and it not being met before I came to yelp* 4. This just further proves my point on the poor communication from this facility, the fact that I wasn't made aware my pup might have had a decrease in appetite or activity level is serious alarm bells. Both of those things would indicate to me that something is off since my dog normally has endless energy and a black hole for a stomach. At the very least, a simple update that my dog just finished his additional 1:1 training session/1:1 play session that I paid extra for would've been nice. My dog is the love of my life and I'm sure other pet parents feel the same. It's important for me to share my experiences to provide insight for others and so the business can improve for others.

    Our family is a Furrtropolis family. We love the Furrtropolis programs, the facility and especially the people. Whether our pup is there for daycare or boarding, they often have training or grooming appointments available - which have been great in our experience. The fact that our pup can be engaged and pampered while outside our home is awesome. The Furrtropolis staff also like to experiment - we had a 1 year birthday party there for our little guy with some of his favorite Furrtropolis playmates as guests. The party was super fun - for the humans and the pups. Our dog is excited every time we drop him off. He runs in their outdoor yard, they have a huge indoor rink and also activity rooms and comfortable individual enclosures for lots of doggie daytime rest and overnight stays. One of the trainers in particular is a fave for our dog, whom he greets with jumping kisses that are met with affection rather than judgment. More than anything we like the community atmosphere Mireille is building at Furrtropolis. Highly recommend.

    We love Furrtropolis. Recommended by our trainer friend when they first opened and our rescued Pitskie Quinn goes every Friday and loves it! We went on a long weekend to Santa Barbara and boarded Quinny there and she did great. Can't recommend this place and the wonderful staff highly enough. 10 out of 5 stars!

    The Furrtropilis team is very friendly, detailed and you can tell that they really like pets. It's a brand new facility that just opened up in the San Jose area, but the owner has a great background with pets. We're bringing in our pet for boarding in a few weeks. Before boarding, we had an initial meeting to tour the facility and for them to evaluate our pet (this includes a complimentary 4+ hours of daycare to evaluate the pet, and get familiarized with the surroundings).

    Highly recommend their self wash stations! I have tried self wash stations before and was looking for one in San Jose and stumbled across this gem! Normally I give her a bath at home, but since she is a bigger dog this is so much more convenient. The room is small but it has 2 sinks so 2 dogs can be washed at the same time. After washing, the high powered dryer saved me so much time drying and getting out all the loose fur (she is a chronic shedder). I wish more places offered this service, especially for dogs who are nervous around strangers, this is a nice stress free alternative and promotes positive bath time and bonding time. My pup was more calm here than bath time at home! The staff is also amazing and gave her treats afterwards! This will be my monthly go to now for baths! Can't wait to be back! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

We are not new dog owners and with our previous dog, we lived the best life - traveling across US and Canada, flying on planes, staying in hotels, dining at Michelin star restaurants, going to work at the office, walking off leash, etc - with zero professional training. He actually was a puppy school drop out! We learned that all dogs are different and with our new pups, we needed help on dealing with behavioral issues like reactivity. Through positive reinforcement, Amy coached us on how to loose leash walk our dogs in heel position. She also showed us how to do "place" work, use spatial pressure and how to get our dogs to focus on us around distractions. We also learned how to turn up our praising game verbally and with treats! Trainings were mainly at Butcher Park which is a very high pressure environment given the amount of dogs at any given time. It really put us to the test and honestly, we were challenged! It's hard work. We had homework after each lesson, but we committed to practicing in between lessons. We weren't perfect but we always showed up ready to learn, and to give and receive feedback each time with the goal of growing and improving. We ended up doing "board and train" for both of our dogs (one at a time) and we couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. We needed a jumpstart and Amy gave us the knowledge and tools to set us up for how we want to live our lives with our French bulldogs. She truly loves dogs and wants the best for them and their owners. We highly recommend Amy!

    This review is long overdue. And one will understand why when they finish reading this review. Do…read morenot fall for their success stories, testimonials, publicity, fame, etc. Their website has changed from last fall/winter 2025. They had YouTube videos of their training (videos still active on YouTube website) as well as being interviewed by tv station (https://youtu.be/HfhZbTuIAPA?si=ec-mDnkjKXPa6zUE). Their "accolades" are MISLEADING. Second, the comments in the poorest ratings reviews are absolutely 100% true: condescending tone, treats everyone like an idiot, no manners, rude, and even causes trauma to owner and dog. My experiences with the head trainer and owner of facility (whom I will not type her name because she DOES NOT deserve the recognition by name) were downright awful for me and my pup. I paid upfront for 5 sessions but after the 2nd session, I stopped attending. It was too much trauma for my then 5 months old pup and myself. As one reviewer put it, the trainer/owner "break(s) dog's spirit." The first negative experience with trainer/owner was within 10 minutes of the 1st session when she said aloud my leash is "yuck." She walked away from me, leaving me embarrassed. She went to get a leash from her personal collection and with a negative tone told me to put on said leash. There was no explanation to this new leash or why my leash was "yuck." Because I believed she was the "expert," I immediately followed orders. It was 15-20 minutes later she explained why my leash was "yuck." Couldn't she have said in at least an encouraging (or neutral) tone "you may want to consider another type of leash because..."? But she didn't consider her words carefully. Instead, she used her age as an excuse because she has "no filter." Yes, trainer/owner said "I'm ___ years; I have no filter." Regardless of one's age, you should treat everyone with respect. The age-old wisdom of "think before you speak" speaks volumes. The owner needs to practice this. As well as practice people skills. Owner talks to you. Not with you. Owner talks in your face. Not provides you space. A trainer is equivalent to a teacher. A teacher guides. A teacher explains. A teacher is patient. A teacher motivates. The owner of this facility does not demonstrate any of these characteristics. Please, seek dog training elsewhere. NOTE: Follow-up. Not an edit. I believe this is the only way to reply to the recent post of owner. I will not message directly via Yelp or contact them with the email provided. Their attempt in extending the proverbial olive branch publicly is merely to save face. The damage is done. The review remains.

She sent regular updates and adorable pictures throughout the weekend, which gave us such peace of mind. It's clear that the Dog Duty team truly cares about the pets they look after. In this case, the passion is directed toward the animals for which Catalina cares. A massive amount of trust is necessary, at least for me, in order to leave my beloved animals with someone and I do this with ease knowing that Dog Duty will not only care for my animals but also show them love and affection whilst I travel. I have 5 cats and a dog and have no worry leaving them with Catalina for weeks at a time, due to work. I personally recommend them to anyone looking for not just care for their animals but the peace of mind that they pets will be loved and cared for. Additionally, and perhaps equally as important, Catalina is a great communicator and leaves you with no concern about what's happening back home when you're away. I love working with her and am truly grateful to have found such a good pet sitter.
