It was clean and friendly, convenient and reasonably priced. Rather than clipping the nails, they grind them, unless they are super long and need initial trimming, which is less traumatic, as nails can break when they are cut. I normally take my maltipoo to Petsmart twice a year to get her anal glands expressed. I always pass by this groomer whenever I got to UPS next door so I thought this time I can try to support a local business and take my dog to get her glands expressed here. I called in the morning and they said to just walk in. I walked in around 1:30PM and they took her in right away but they didn't take her to the back with the sinks like they do at Petsmart. The groomers took her to the grooming table, brought out a bag of wipes and a scented spray bottle and just wiped her the liquids that came out. The whole process less than a minute and they returned my dog back to me with her behind with poop stuck to her! They didn't even bother washing her behind before giving her back. This grooming spot is actually a joke. Not only are they more expensive than Petsmart (they charge $15, Petsmart charges $12) but they don't give you back a clean dog. Go to Petsmart and don't waste your time giving them money here. Never coming back. read more

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG, BEWARE! This is the third time we have brought our Shitzu/Maltese puppy to Quality Pet Spot at 1087 Meridian Avenue San Jose. The first two times went well. Today was extremely upsetting. We were asked to bring our dog at 1:00 which we did. We were told he would be ready in a couple of hours. We returned at 3 only to be told he wouldn't be ready for another hour. When we returned after the hour, we were told he would be ready in another 45 minutes, so we decided to sit and wait in the shop. That's when we heard our dog crying out repeatedly. I asked if they were having a hard time with him and offered to take him home if that was the case. They said he was fine and they would finish grooming him. There was no apology given for the repeated delays and no discount offered. We were told by the clerk that "it was fine". Our dogs trim was obviously a rush job! His coat was very uneven. However, we had no intention on keeping our dog in such a difficult situation any longer! read more

I brought my golden retriever in for a full bath that included brushing, nail trim, paw trim, paw shaping, sanitary trim and anal gland expression. My girl is super wiggly and hyper and it usually takes me 4-5 hours to get all of that done by myself. Matthew, who was her groomer, said she'd be ready to get picked up in 3/4 hours but after 2 hours I got a call that she was ready to go! I had used Quality Pet Spot before their move to the Meridian location and never had issues. My recent visit was appalling, from the setup and reception to the grooming itself and how my concerns were handled. My dog was cut along the side of his genitals and on his testicles. The staff never mentioned his injuries at pickup. He is now wearing a cone and being treated with a prescribed antibacterial cream. After multiple messages, calls, and texts, I was told to take him to the vet and submit the invoice so they could "see what they could do." The grooming and vet costs together were close to $400. I do not expect reimbursement. The grooming area is completely closed off with no window for owners to see what is happening. That alone should concern any pet owner. Think carefully before taking your pet here. read more

We've been going to Quality Pet Spot for grooming for over 3 years and highly recommend it! Our dog comes back so clean, and they thoroughly go through all areas. When we pick our dog up, the groomer also gives us a summary of how our dog behaved and whether they found any mats or other problems, which we really appreciate! Amazing. Literally the first time my anxious dog did not freak out at the groomers. I am almost in tears from how happy I am. The workers were quick, caring, and put her at ease even during her nail clipping/grinding, which historically ends in screaming and everyone giving up. My dog's anal glands were also expressed, which I don't think is fun for anyone but they did it so quickly that she didn't have time to react. I'm definitely coming back to get her haircuts. Because of COVID I wasn't really sure where to get my puppy groomed and did most of it by myself at home but I was a bit scared to use scissors near his face and his eye fans were getting out of control so I came here for a walk in for a face trim. We also did walk in for cutting nails.The people here are really nice and were really gentle with my puppy esp because he was shaking because he was so scared. There was also some matting around his mouth and on his ears and they took the time to detangle and buzz off matted fur and he looks great! They had to completely shave his ears because there was apparently a matted patch they couldn't/didn't want to detangle since he was just a puppy. But he still looked good, and the lady guided us through aftercare since our pup wouldn't be used to the weight of his ears. My only criticism is that it ended up being kind of expensive because they charge per minute for the brushout so the entire walk in ended up costing around 40 dollars but if I made an appt I could've got an entire grooming done for like 55 dollars. It's a small thing though and if anything more on me for not making an appointment. I attached pictures of before and after. Nonetheless I'm a happy customer! read more

From the beginning, my requests were not taken into consideration. I had made specific requests when dropping off my puppy. There were many other dogs being dropped off as well and while I was informing the groomer of my requests, nothing was being written down or notated. There was another groomer there who owns a schnauzer herself and believes the cut that I was requesting was not a proper schnauzer cut, and decided to make adjustments to my requests without consulting me at all. After picking up my puppy I was sadly disappointed that everything I had requested was ignored. I had high hopes for this company unfortunately I will not be returning. read more

Staff is very nice to you and your pup. They do a very good job overall and seemed super friendly to dogs. The only thing I'd suggest is to make the bath only appointments quicker. Some dogs don't like grooming and baths in general so having them wait in kennel before bath or in between bath and drying just makes them less likely to go for it again, being wet just makes it worse. I'd take my pup here again when we aren't able to bathe her at home. read more

I made my grooming appointment over the phone (it took a few tries to reach someone, so call again if you get their voicemail) and received a text confirmation the day before. When I dropped off my dog (a bernedoodle), the staff was very friendly and asked me in detail what I was looking to have done. I showed them a photo and they were able to replicate it perfectly! When the grooming was finished, I received a text and automated phone call to pick up my dog in 15 minutes. He looked great and the groomer spoke with me afterwards to make sure I liked how it turned out - so nice! The full groom came out to $120 plus tip, but I was very happy with the results. I'm so grateful I found Quality Pet Spot! During the pandemic I tried my best to bathe my dog and trim his nails myself, but it's quite the task when your dog is 100 lbs. He's a very sweet and gentle senior dog but it was tough for me to handle his grooming alone when my partner was unwell and unable to help me. I know my big guy is in good hands when I leave him for an appointment and he always comes out looking fresh and feeling super soft.
