Ok Tina is an amazing groomer! My dogs both love her and she is very versatile with the new trends and styles. My poodle can pass for a Bischon so we go back and forth on poodle and Bischon cut. Again, Yelpers have led me to a great business. We've tried a few others: two mobiles, a store, and a grooming shop, and haven't been terribly fond of any of them for one reason or another. The last one said they couldn't do anything with our elderly poodle/bichon/what else with advanced hip dysplasia because he couldn't stand long enough. Teena was 10 min. late, and I was worried, because I had to leave for a dress rehearsal by 7.30. When she arrived, she pointed us to the grooming area and joined us quickly. We were there for what she calls a "comfort groom", which she finds elderly dogs are able to tolerate. When I called, she told me about this, and that she had experience with older dogs. Our dog seemed to have no problems with standing with her--and she did have him sit or lie down when standing wasn't necessary. All the things he wouldn't allow us to do at home were swiftly taken care of, even the gunky earwax in one ear. She does the quickest nail trim I've ever seen! My belle-mère was very particular about how much he should be trimmed, and where, and she was very happy with Teena's work. In spite of our dog being deaf, blind, and unable to smell much, she was constantly talking to him about how good he was, and the sort of thing you say to a dog you love. Our dog no longer has the energy to lick our faces the way he used to, but when he's happy, he licks hands or arms, and he did that several times to her. The cost was $55. I met Teena out at the Campbell Track when my dog was a 3lb 4month old puppy. She asked if she could hold him and it was clear to me that she LOVES animals. She offered great advice to get him used to being groomed and told me about her grooming services, which I immediately started using. Since then, my pup is now 2 years old and Teena has taken care of all his grooming needs. There was one time when my pup and I were not in the area, couldn't see Teena, and needed to find a different groomer while traveling. When I picked him up, he was shaking like crazy. I highly recommend Hands in Paws. I had a long-haired foster cat who wouldn't groom herself at all and got mats like crazy. So I would take her to Teena, and she'd be all silky and happy in time for pet adoption fairs. She was with me for a long while (older cat) so Teena saw her fairly often. Teena is by far the best Cat Groomer I've ever had! My cat has come back home with some doozies but I was very happy with the professional job she did on our RagDoll cat which is no easy task. Finding through Yelp, we went to Tina for the first time yesterday since this was one of the few businesses that is open late evening. Tina operates out of her garage, but has the equipment that she needs. She has a lot of experience, which was clear in the way she handled our skittish dog. Two other professionals couldn't handle our dog who has been nervous since our move, but Tina established a clear line of command from the get go. She is really good at what she does.
