REVIEW OF LUSH SPAW, UNION AVE LOCATION I tried looking up Lush Spaw's Union Ave location but, to no surprise, they don't seem to have a Yelp page. My wife and I have been bringing our dogs to a Lush Spaw business for over 5 years and have never had any issues with a grooming until this past weekend. We took our two dogs to this specific location to have them washed and groomed. When I picked them up, both of my dogs had black dye on their fur, which the groomer blamed on them for walking through. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how them walking into dye that you left around or didn't clean up is their fault. But what really pissed me off, and the reason why I wanted to share this experience, is that they intentionally hid a large razor burn patch on my dog's neck and did not disclose this information to me when I picked them up. Instead, they hid it under the harness, and I didn't see it until after I got home. The burn is about 3 inches long and 2 inches thick. I can't confirm if it was a razor or if the hair was pulled out, but the skin is completely smooth and irritated. As a customer who is entrusting Lush Spaw with my pet, this is very concerning to me. Not only did your groomers do an inadequate job, but they also lacked the professionalism or integrity to bring this to my attention. As a paying customer, had I known about this when I picked up my dogs, I would have refused to pay the hefty $258, including tip, that they charged me. Safe to say that we will no longer be taking our pets to Lush Spaw. But I would caution folks before booking an appointment at their Union Ave location specifically. At least do your due diligence to find out who will be grooming your pet before booking so you don't have a similar experience. read more

Great results. My dog was shaking when he went. We had tried a different groomer, closer to home. Apparently that made my Maltese shaky. When we picked him up he was very calm. Stood in my lap and watched his surroundings as we drove by, very relaxed. He looks so cute , very happy with grooming. They followed my instructions to the letter. Thank you very much.. read more

Jefferson gave our 5year old labradoodle his first bath at groomers at Lush Spaw on Winchester ( he has always been done at home). He was bathed , plus add on of sanitary trim, paws and nails. They said he's ready for a full cut and grooming next time. (The only thing Jefferson didn't do was the upper bangs which would have been nice ) Auggie says thank you Jefferson read more

When I picked up my pup, she was bleeding. They said it was because she was resisting getting on the table and hit herself. They also didn't cut her nails because they said she was trying to bite--Which I find very odd because she's been groomed at lush spaw before with no issues. She came back home, pawing at her injured area and licking it all day. They did not refund us for not doing the nails. We also paid extra for deshedding, but she was shedding a lot afterwards so I'm wondering if they even did the deshedding on her. And usually they put them in cute bandanas, but this time there was none. Was this guy just really new and incompetent? I've been to the el Camino location and they did a great job. We didn't do deshedding, yet my pup came back with little to no shed at all. So why did I pay extra only for her to come back injured, shedding, nails untrimmed, and also a little wet?! I feel so bad for my dog, I'm never going to put her through this again. I would advise dog owners to avoid booking with new (male) groomers. The one we had was too inexperienced. read more

I chose lushspaw due to the high reviews it had. However I quickly regretted my decision as soon as I spoke to my dogs groomer. Initially asking for a cut, she suggested my chow mix shouldn't have a full cut. While I agree, my dog is 8, getting him groomed his whole life, had his hair cut his whole life, and I've had no issues. I then called back after leaving my dog bc I had a bad feeling she didn't know what she was doing. I asked for a simple full body trim/cleanup. Upon picking him up, I didn't get a trim, my dog got a full "cut" which I was initially asking for. Can't imagine what he would've looked like if she actually did her version of a "cut". AND she asked ME what clipper size.. shouldn't she know that?? Few weeks later, my dog gets a yeast infection in one of his ears. He has NEVER had any type of ear infection. The vet said these infections can be due to inadequate drying after a bath.... So now $250 vet bill later, I am now having to clean out my dogs ear, administer ear drops and another ointment. Never coming back here again. read more
