We've been coming to Lush Spaw for years, both the Winchester location and more recently this Cambrian Park location, even when we were living further north when Lush Spaw wasn't the closest option. Our dog is a less common breed, so we like to find a groomer that will take care to try and groom somewhat close to how he should look. Antonia does a good job and our dog never shows signs of excessive stress after grooming - he always comes home happy and smelling nicer, usually with a surprise bandana design (this last time of donuts!) The charges are on par with most grooming places and they'll sometimes have promotions or discounts on certain days of the week. We're happy to come here and trust they'll do a good job. You can see the big difference before and after.

I have taken my Border Collie to several different groomers, and without a doubt, Deanna (the groomer I was assigned at the Union Ave Lush Spaw) absolutely nailed it! She gave my Dakota an amazing cut and wash. Dakota's nails and feet were beautifully trimmed and she looks gorgeous. I am so so unbelievably happy From now on Lush Spaw and Deanna are my absolute go to. My only complaint is that I never discovered this dog grooming spa several years ago. I took my dog in for his appointment and the service was great. My dog had some matting and crustiness around his mouth and they were able to take it off and he looked great afterwards..

First time going to Lush Spaw, and I appreciate Monica's dedication, experience, and empathy working on my anxious/dog reactive Great Pyrenees. She spent a long time combing out matted fur from his tail/legs, and he came out looking like a new/different dog! We hope his skin improves with all that matting removed. Thanks again for your care and time!

Monica did an amazing job grooming my Pomeranian, Loki! I've honestly never had a groomer understand exactly how I wanted his haircut until now. She listened to what I wanted and executed it perfectly. Loki looks adorable! The spa is also super cute, clean, and welcoming. You can tell they truly care about the pets they work with. I took my Maltipoo, Mochi, to Lush Spaw yesterday, and we had such a great experience. I walked in early without an appointment because I wasn't sure what he would need, and they accepted us right away. The staff member who greeted us recommended exactly what Mochi needed, which helped ease my nerves since it was his first time there. I was a little nervous leaving my baby, but Mochi was excited and ready to go with the workers -- definitely a good sign. They called me as soon as he was ready for pickup, and when my son and I saw him come out, we were honestly shocked. He looked like a brand‑new man. He smelled amazing, his paws were so smooth, and his fur was incredibly soft. And the cutest part was he came out wearing a little scarf that I absolutely loved. The dog groomer who worked on him did such a good job, and she was so sweet, I wish I got her name. Mochi clearly loved her. I will definitely be returning, and I think we've officially found our spot. read more

I noticed other reviews complaining about trimming but EVERY time I go in Cynthia reviews the style I want. Gustavo is very experienced, patient, caring, and knowledgeable in grooming senior dogs. My fluffy baby is 16.5 years old and he can't stand for long time. With Gustavo's support and understanding, my baby can enjoy the full groom at ease without any anxiety. Gustavo let my baby rests on his comfortable position and had my boy enjoyed his spa day. Our go-to groomers in the South Bay! We absolutely love how well Lush Spaw takes care of our two huskies. We've been to three different locations, and we've had amazing experiences at each one. I had a great experience at Lush Spaw for my dog's grooming! My dog is very anxious around strangers and bath time, so I was nervous trying a new groomer for the first time. The staff was very patient and caring throughout the whole process. They kept in touch with me by phone, gave me updates, and always asked for my permission before doing anything. Chloe had the most amazing grooming experience at Lush Spaw! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome and comfortable. The place is clean, calming, and truly pet-friendly. Her groomer, Brianna, was absolutely amazing! She was so gentle, patient, and attentive with Chloe. You can really tell she loves what she does and genuinely cares about the pets she works with. We've taken our elderly husky in for a bath at the Union Ave. location. They were very gentle with him, which we really appreciated. He looked beautiful afterwards. Today, we took our 16 1/2 year-old poodle in for a full groom. Frank was very gentle with her. She looks wonderful. Frank also made us aware of a special grooming for senior dogs. I've been taking my dogs to Lush for nail trims for the past couple of years, and it has always been a great experience. Lush spaw always ALWAYS delivered when it comes to grooming my maltipoo. Antonia is especially patient and never takes the lazy route. Yoshi has had a really traumatic grooming experience when she was young (injured) so she is very sensitive and fussy around tools, so I appreciate the team and trusting that she's in good care. I do want to mention that the staff was friendly on each of my accounts. I went in hopeful--the tour was a nice gesture, and I appreciated that they offer cameras for monitoring. Unfortunately, the week I brought my dog in, the cameras were down due to Wi-Fi issues, which I understand can happen. However, my concerns started after the first day. When I picked Maui up, he urgently needed to go poo. After we got home (about a 45-minute drive), he drank almost an entire bowl of water. This made me question whether he was being given enough water or regular opportunities to relieve himself during the day. The same thing happened the second day. When I picked him up, he immediately drank water from a bowl they had outside immediately and had an extremely long pee--lasting over a minute--which again made me feel like he wasn't being let out frequently enough. On top of that, I noticed a very unpleasant smell coming from him in the car. When I checked, there were stains on his chin and belly that smelled far worse than urine. This raised concerns about cleanliness, either in the kennels or play areas (which were not included in the tour). I truly wanted this to be a good, budget-friendly option, but based on my experience, I would rather pay more elsewhere to ensure my dog is properly cared for. Saving money isn't worth compromising my pet's well-being.

Regarding my pup contracting Giardia--I already stated in my original review that I understand parasites are common and my puppy was probably more susceptible, so I wasn't placing blame on the facility. Just a warning that these things happen. However I would like to point out that my dog did not go anywhere else besides home and their facility (since theyre insinuating that it could've been contracted elsewhere). Additionally, the fact that Furrtropolis requires a negative fecal test every 6 months is a warning in itself that any dog could be carrying a parasite between that time, so this requirement isn't full proof. This is just the nature of daycares and boarding facilities, and it wasn't the sole reason I decided we wouldn't be returning. 2. Regarding kennel cough--again just spreading the warning of what my dog experienced coming back from the facility. I'm fully aware they don't have control over the health of every dog that enters. 3. Records show that we were in contact, because as I stated in my review, I would have to continously badger the staff in order to get any updates. Yes, responses were prompt but that wasn't the issue. It was getting updates to begin with, without me having to reach out on the 4th day of boarding to ask how things went. I've seen other boarding places have cameras or provide daily updates (on meals, training sessions, nap time, etc)--totally fine if this isn't one of those places and you're a dog parent that doesn't mind. It's just not for me. *I also want to clarify that I directly expressed to the staff multiple times of wanting more communication/updates and it not being met before I came to yelp* 4. This just further proves my point on the poor communication from this facility, the fact that I wasn't made aware my pup might have had a decrease in appetite or activity level is serious alarm bells. Both of those things would indicate to me that something is off since my dog normally has endless energy and a black hole for a stomach. At the very least, a simple update that my dog just finished his additional 1:1 training session/1:1 play session that I paid extra for would've been nice. My dog is the love of my life and I'm sure other pet parents feel the same. It's important for me to share my experiences to provide insight for others and so the business can improve for others.

Customer service sucked coming from the manager Cindy. Lied about my dog stating that my dog tried biting the technician that was grooming her. My dog is a pitbull terrier. She is a big baby. She has never been aggressive nor try to bite anyone. Now when I tell you she's a pitbull I know automatically we think well all pit bulls are mean because I'm one to not trust pit bulls myself, but I know my own and she's a very good dog. My house got broken into a few months ago and she was scared herself and ran out the door and was outside until we came home. I had arrived a little earlier before neighbors text me to let me know she was wandering out front scared. Anyways I had taken her a few times to the Lush spa on Winchester boulevard and she did great there I asked the girls how was she they said she did good the only thing she was afraid of was the blow dryer she's scared of the noise. When I tried making an appointment over at the Winchester site they had no appointments available that week but they had told me that they had another store over on Union avenue if I wanted to take her there I said okay that would be fine. My mistake was I should have continued taking her to the same spot where she was already feeling comfortable and familiar. So the day I took her to the union avenue store which was her first time they didn't even have my phone number correct they kept thinking we were somebody else I had to tell them around three times that this was my phone number. When I left her it had been past an hour and I was concerned thinking maybe they text the wrong number since they already had me confused with somebody else so I did arrive at the store and got down and the manager Cindy asked me my name and my dog's name I told her then she said the technician said no she wasn't done yet and that she would text me so I walked out of the store got in my vehicle within 3 to 5 minutes I get the text stating that my dog is done as I'm getting off my vehicle to go inside the store the manager Cindy comes out with my dog and starts telling me that her technician told her that my dog tried to nip at her a few times and if this happens again that she will not be able to come there to their store anymore I said okay that's fine but I asked her how come they didn't tell me this when I walked in the store or why didn't they text me she had just got through telling me that my dog was doing good so none of this was making sense to me. Then I ended up going to the Winchester Lush Spaw store and ask the girls if my dog has ever given them problems they said no never I then explained how I thought one of the girls there at the store was very rude sarcastic and come to find out she ends up being the manager which is Cindy. Now Cindy tells me that I cannot bring my dog there anymore so she referred me to another grooming place that are for bulldogs. Lol! I feel that technician that was on Union avenue was already afraid of my female pitbull due to she's a pitbull and didn't have any experience maybe dealing with pitbulls maybe I don't know but I have no complaints about any of the girls at the Winchester but I feel that Cindy as a manager she handled things all wrong again I don't feel my dog try to bite the technician I think she was just afraid the whole entire time and if that was the case they should have just text me or called me and told me instead of going through all that but now I found another grooming place and they are very good with my dog she loves it there no problems nothing and the majority of their dogs that go there are all small dogs. I've been a loyal fan of Lush Spaw since moving to the South Bay in 2023, and today was my first visit to the Union location. I usually go to the Winchester spot, but I decided to check this one out! I booked an appointment with Antonia, and I couldn't recommend her more highly. She used to groom my girls at the Winchester location but has now moved to this one. Antonia is incredibly friendly and transparent, and she genuinely listens to your requests, delivering exactly what you ask for. She's an exceptional groomer, and I have no criticisms or complaints about how my dogs' cuts turned out. It's evident that she has a deep love for animals, which makes the experience easier for my girls. The location is in a small shopping center with convenient parking, making it easy to drop off and pick up your pup. Plus, if you want to stick around, there are plenty of nearby places to explore while you wait. Overall, Lush Spaw continues to impress with its excellent service and caring staff.
