Although I am very happy with the service and everyone was kind.. my baby's nail was clipped too short (confirmed by vet tech) and I was not told about it. I have a senior dog with extreme anxiety, so I already struggle taking him to different places. I know this sometimes can happen, but I wish I was at least notified of the incident. He smells good. He looks good and everyone working was very nice. REVIEW OF LUSH SPAW, UNION AVE LOCATION *UPDATE (10/5/26): Aqua, their groomer, called to apologize for any misunderstandings and explained what exactly happened with the patch of missing hair and the dark stain on their fur. Thankfully, she clarified that the patch was not caused by a clipper burn, but that it was likely a hot spot due to compacted fur. She also stated that in the event that the hotspot gets worse and she requires a vet visit, they would cover any associated costs. She also offered to re-bathe them to wash out the stains if we decided to bring them back. While this experience was unfortunate, we do appreciate Aqua going out of her way to give us a call and offering to make things right after seeing our review. I've updated my original rating to reflect her good-faith effort to resolve this issue. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My wife and I have been bringing our dogs to a Lush Spaw business for over 5 years and have never had any issues with a grooming until this past weekend. We took our two dogs to this specific location to have them washed and groomed. When I picked them up, both of my dogs had black dye on their fur, which the groomer blamed on them for walking through. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how them walking into dye that you left around or didn't clean up is their fault. But what really pissed me off, and the reason why I wanted to share this experience, is that they hid a large clipper burn patch on my dog's neck and did not disclose this information to me when I picked them up. Instead, they hid it under the harness, and I didn't see it until after I got home. The burn is about 3 inches long and 2 inches thick. I can't confirm if it was a clipper or if the hair was pulled out, but the skin is completely smooth and irritated. As a customer who is entrusting Lush Spaw with my pet, this is very concerning to me. Not only did your groomers do an inadequate job, but they also lacked the professionalism or integrity to bring this to my attention. As a paying customer, had I known about this when I picked up my dogs, I would have refused to pay the hefty $258, including tip, that they charged me. Safe to say that we will no longer be taking our pets to Lush Spaw. But I would caution folks before booking an appointment at their Union Ave location specifically. At least do your due diligence to find out who will be grooming your pet before booking so you don't have a similar experience. read more

This was our first time getting our 5 month old Havanese puppy groomed. I made an appointment online for the following day. The called me when they first opened to clarify what services I wanted. After explaining their recommendations, we went with the bath and grooming, with nail filing. They were super friendly upon our arrival and reassured us he was in good hands. The staff was great with him and he was excited to meet new friends. They called us around to hours later for pick up. They did a wonderful job considering he was super squirmy during the groom. I took my Maltipoo, Mochi, to Lush Spaw yesterday, and we had such a great experience. I walked in early without an appointment because I wasn't sure what he would need, and they accepted us right away. The staff member who greeted us recommended exactly what Mochi needed, which helped ease my nerves since it was his first time there. I was a little nervous leaving my baby, but Mochi was excited and ready to go with the workers -- definitely a good sign. They called me as soon as he was ready for pickup, and when my son and I saw him come out, we were honestly shocked. He looked like a brand‑new man. He smelled amazing, his paws were so smooth, and his fur was incredibly soft. And the cutest part was he came out wearing a little scarf that I absolutely loved. The dog groomer who worked on him did such a good job, and she was so sweet, I wish I got her name. Mochi clearly loved her. We've been coming to Lush Spaw for years, both the Winchester location and more recently this Cambrian Park location, even when we were living further north when Lush Spaw wasn't the closest option. Our dog is a less common breed, so we like to find a groomer that will take care to try and groom somewhat close to how he should look. Antonia does a good job and our dog never shows signs of excessive stress after grooming - he always comes home happy and smelling nicer, usually with a surprise bandana design (this last time of donuts!) The charges are on par with most grooming places and they'll sometimes have promotions or discounts on certain days of the week. We're happy to come here and trust they'll do a good job. 5 stars! I brought Mocha to Lush Spaw for a bath and tidy trim, and we had such a great experience! Richard did an amazing job with her grooming. He took the time to explain that because Mocha is an Australian Shepherd, they use scissors to trim her coat properly without damaging it. I no longer recommend nor trust this business! Be careful!! I have been bringing my dog to LushSpaw for quite some time. His last visit when I brought him home he started behaving more concerning, like growling and he even bit my thumb when attempting to pick him up. He is a 6 year old and this is not his typical behavior at all. He is more of a cuddle bug After a few days of this behavior. I took him to get checked by his vet who gave him the clean bill of health confirming the behavior wasn't health related. I called Lush Spaw to speak with his groomer to ask if anything was different during his visit. My first attempt when calling was met with the guy who works at the front desk he responded very defensively saying nothing happened. How would you know when you are sitting at the front desk? His behavior was completely unacceptable.I wasn't accusing this establishment of anything I had a question for my groomer not the guy at the front desk. I then called a few days later to again speak with his groomer Cynthia - I was then met with someone named Aqua she said she was the manager of all 3 locations. Aqua came to the phone and met me with the same resistance, defensiveness as if I was accusing them when I only had questions. She cut me off mid sentence and her behavior was worse than the first guy. This behavior is flat out disgusting. If a client cant ask questions about their precious animal that I am entrusting this business to take care as you advertise then GO OUT OF Business! The fact that the owner Richard did not return my call speaks volumes! After posting this review you didnt even call to make things right, instead I got an alert on my phone that my dog's future appt is cancelled. Dont worry, we wouldn't dream of returning to this type of establishment. Maybe you do in fact have a reason to be defensive.
