Very happy to have a Petsmart in the Wethersfield/Newington/Berlin neighborhood. This store is big, very neatly aligned and neatly maintained. This is the first time I have seen a petsmart with a self service bath area for dogs. I am definitely going to try it the next time. Good number of staff members and friendly folks too. Will definitely be here more often.

I made an appointment and had to wait two weeks. The morning of the appointment they called to reschedule because the groomer did not come in. They rescheduled to almost one week after the initial appointment. I dropped her off at 8 AM and picked her up at 1:30 PM and not one hair was cut on this dog. They called and told me to pick her up and that they were not able to cut one leg bc it Had a hotspot. I said that is fine. I could not believe nothing was done on this dog for 5 1/2 hours. Extremely disappointed! I do not think the groomer had any idea what she was doing.

This location luckily grooms cats along with Manchester. I would say since there wasn't a lot of dog owners I was happy that my felines were able to have minimal anxiety unlike the Manchester location. The girls were great!! Regarding my concerns they took time with London & Cinnamon and even recorded a video of their baths for me lol . They both also received haircuts which came out great, Cinnamon made the cutest Lion lol! I would highly recommend the grooming services at this PetSmart!!. Schedule with Crystal or Jess their amazing! They will truly listen to you and offer any professional and personal experiences to help. Did I mention cost wise it was affordable? I groomed both cats for the price of one compared to my local groomer. I found the online scheduling system also to be rather easy to use.

For those who have been challenged with handling a reactive dog , you understand the mental toll it…read moretakes and how isolating and hopeless it can feel . You thought you did everything right by giving your dog so much love and socialization only to now be faced with questions and comments like " why didn't you just train your dog ?" , " you're not the alpha to your dog", " you shouldn't be a dog owner" on a regular basis. I have a 6 year old boxer ( the social , goofy clowns of the dog breeds) . I've worked with dogs in the past as a kennel attendant, and grown up with dogs my entire life and never thought I would be in this situation . I struggled to find a trainer whose techniques showed progress which lead to inconsistency, a lot of frustration and doubt . Eventually taking him places like the vet and groomer caused me such extreme anxiety. When I met Tom , my dog was unapproachable by strangers , including Tom initially. It took a month or so of meeting up , going on walks and practicing techniques at home but I was seeing improvement! Not long after Tom was able to take the leash from me and walk Gus, and we could walk near other people without Gus acting like a total maniac , lunging , barking and snapping. It was like he was a normal (ish) dog . Gus is 6 , so it will be a slow process to break him out of this behavior , but he has improved so much in the last 6 months .. I never thought I would get this far. I still have my work cut out for me but this training has also helped me increase my confidence as a dog owner and learn to trust my dog again. I'm not longer so nervous to take him out on walks because I feel like I'm in control.( Holding back an 80 pound boxer is not an easy task ) . I definitely recommend Tom if you are struggling with a similar situation. It probably has been the best thing I have ever done for Gus!

Highly recommend, they know their business and can handle highly aggressive dogs. Tom is ver…read moreinformative.

She has picked up our dog, Rey, from Planet Bark, in the evening and dropped off at our home. She is just such a calming presence and my dogs just love her! For holidays, we have come home to find an adorable "themed" kerchief on them, which just brightens our day. She even left a bag of treats for Jake, recently, as he just turned 12. Emily also watched Jake when we went on a cruise, and he did not come home stressed or ill, like if he stays in a kennel. She sent daily videos and/or pictures of him and we felt so comfortable leaving our little man. I am that nervous dog Mom but Emily always makes me feel so much peace of mind. Most importantly, she is dependable, on time, and will always give us a heads up if she has something coming up, so that we can be prepared ahead of time. I can't say enough!!!

The price was…read moreastronomical and I also had an awful experience during my phone consultation that completely turned me off and I wanted to warn people about it. I spoke with a woman and maybe 10 minutes into our conversation she tells me my only option is board and train which would be sending my dog away for three weeks and it's usually $4200 but she would give it to me for $3400. I immediately tell her that that's not doable for me, and during our conversation I got very emotional and began to cry to which did not phase her. She continued the sales pitch without hesitation. The entire phone call was the most sales phone call I've ever experienced, it's like she was reading off a script and there was nothing personal about it. She wasn't listening to me to understand, she was listening to me in order to respond and she already knew what her responses would be before I was done speaking. So impersonal. I asked her to send me the payment plan options so I could look into it which she did but I also expressed to her that three weeks without my dog is a very hard decision for me to make. She told me to let her know in 24 hours if I was going to do it if I wanted the discounted price. That's a big decision to make in 24 hours, spending that amount of money and also sending my dog away for three weeks. I explained to her that this is not something I'm going to move forward with at this time because I cannot afford it and the length of the training does not work for me. I told her I would reach out if I change my mind in the future. She then texted me a text message that I thought was incredibly inappropriate and was intended to guilt me into taking the training. Now the price isn't just not doable for me because I want to save money, I literally don't have that money, and I don't have the money for the payment plan either it is simply too expensive for me. My entire phone call and also the follow up text message made me feel that they were more concerned about closing the sale and getting money then actually caring for and helping my dog. I even asked her if there were other options she basically told me no. If I am going to put my dog in the hands of other people for almost a month I want to be sure that I can trust them and that they actually care and that this isn't just another sale for them. I felt this was just another sale for them.

I called recently because the landscaper cut the line and we needed someone to come and fix it. I was encouraged to buy a yearly service plane with the central MA/CT invisible fence. They booked an appointment 2 weeks out. The window was 1-6pm. I needed to be in and out of the house that day for my children. No one called or if they did, it was from an unknown number and no one left message, at any time. Apparently someone showed up and left. I tried to call back several times and was on hold for over 10-15 minutes each time. I then called and quickly reached the Metrowest branch and they informed me that service plans are not transferable between locations (I was never told this). I then called back the other branch and finally reached someone, who in essence blamed me and had no solution. Her next available appointment was an entire month away! I cannot transfer the service or I can cancel, but eat $190! I am stuck with them for a year until this runs out or I'm out a lot of money and have to buy a new plan with Metrowest. DO NOT use this company if you have an option for something else. They should not take yearly service fees knowing they have a month waitlist!! They appear to just want you money and don't really care. If you are in the areas of both, as we are, go with Metrowest- they are wonderful!! I should have used them first and I will do so when this service plan runs out.
