The girl who was working was very nice, and since of it was our first time in the store, she gave us a rundown of what they had to offer There is no rawhide here, which makes the store even better! All natural ingredients that are healthy without all the harsh chemicals or ingredients. There is ice cream, toys, treats, and all things for your pooch. We were told if we bought six of the treats in the jars, we would get a % off, so we bulk bought! We ended up getting a duck head, a rabbit ear, a beef stick, a sausage link, a sausage patty and one other treat as well a blueberry biscuits, a Valentine's Day cookie and a puppy bacon cupcake They also had Christmas clearance with a big goodie bag that was half off. This is our favorite pet store for our fur babies! The fresh baked goods are so beautifully done. Their pupcakes are incredible beautiful, smells great and humans can eat it too if they're inclined. They sell all different brands of dog food. Our go-to dog food is Fromm. We also buy raw food there. The treats and bakery section is simply incredible. They sell leashes, collars, toys, beds and cbd and more. We love the South Windsor location. There's a rewards program. We only shop here for our dogs and will continue to. Our go to place for dog cookies and birthday cakes. We have also used the baths that they make available. They have a great set-up with their baths and much easier than using the bathtub at home. They offer nail clippings on some weekends and that is done fast, efficient on and she is great with the dogs. The cookies that they have are always fun and customized to the season. Our dog loves and a recognizes the bag when we bring some home. Their birthday cakes are adorable as well. Cut them in pieces otherwise your dog will try to eat the whole thing at once. Fell in love with this store several years back when I used to walk the dog at Evergreen. Owners and staff are amazing people. Their knowledge of dogs, and cats, and the products they carry are great. Favorites for Sassy are the chocolate peanut butter filled hearts. She also likes their peanut butter treats. Awesome little pet store tucked away at the corner of Evergreen Walk at the Promenade! They make delicious baked goodies for your pets and birthday cakes as well. We'll be sure to pick one up when Tucker turns 1. We love stopping by for goodies after our walk is done and the staff is super friendly. We can't walk the Promenade without stopping by and taking a look at all the goods they have ! Even better one of the staff there has multiple corgis and we love getting nutritional facts from her for our own corgi. I spoil my dog. Let's just get that out there. I know it. She knows it. At least...I think she knows it. She looks at me like she knows it. ...She knows it. I have a sneaking suspicion that Sandie (a generally picky eater to begin with) chomps down a bowl of food half because she's actually hungry, and half because she knows if she eats enough she will be rewarded with something infinitely more delicious. Sure, you could go to the grocery store or PetSmart and get some generic yummo sticks, the tried and tired Milkbone, or a pig's thing (ear?) that smells odd. Truth of it is - some (most) of those treats aren't good for your dog anyways, so why not just skip that whole process and throw down a few extra bills on some all natural, freshly baked treats? Cue: Leaps and Bones, the best place in town to acquire the finest baked goods for all of your animal friends. L&B has buckets of freshly made differently shaped-shaped crunchy treats (all different sizes) as well as a case of treats made to look like cakes and cookies, complete with frosting that I have, on more than one occasion, tasted myself. Not half bad. There is also a refrigerated area with a few more kinds of treats - the honorable mention over here would be the mini muffins. Peanut butter, carrot - no matter what flavor I choose, Sandie practically launches herself off the floor every time I show her one of those. Not the cheapest treat in the world, but, again - spoiled. L&B also has some toys, beds, leashes, and dog clothes, most of which flow right along with the store's generally expensive vibe. I have picked up a few toys there for her before, but PetSmart usually has more of a selection at a lower price. Pick up a specialty treat (or two or five) and watch your dog jump higher, bark louder, and love you even more than usual. read more

We don't visit Evergreen Walk without stopping here! Great variety of high quality pet products, pretty much everything you can think of for your dog and some stuff for your cat. The store isn't huge so some selections are limited, but I have always found what I needed. They carry a lot of great brands that aren't readily available in the bigger pet stores. I'm a big fan of the Lupine and Up Country collars and leashes. The best part of this store is the in-house bakery. Freshly baked, organic, and in my dog's opinion yummy treats. A co worker recommended that we check out the treats at Leaps & Bones. We purchased several doggie ice creams for our little Boston Terrier, Snoopy. He absolutely loved these deserts. My jaw dropped at how low the prices are for the dog ice cream. We will definitely be coming back again for more sweet treats for our pup. read more

After finding myself freaked out after yet another pet food recall I did extensive research to find a new brand of food for my two dogs. Leaps & Bones a locally owned independent business was listed as carrying two of the most highly recommended brands. As nothing is too good for my babies into the car I went passing many other places to buy dog food along the way. Boy was I glad I did! Upon arrival I explained what I was looking for the owners of the store could not have been nicer or more well informed. They took the time to explain the differences in the foods and the amount I should feed. In addition they let me know if for some reason the new foods did not work out (the dogs did not like them or the food did not agree with them) I could return the unused portion for a refund. That's going over and above. They have won my business for sure....now if I could only get them to open a store closer to me.... read more

My dog's name is Dasher and we just discovered this place about a week ago because of a gift certificate we received. We have already been there twice. The store is very cute and the young woman that work there are sweet and helpful. The store has some really cool products and we have bought a new harness that has substantially limits his ability to pull, a new bowl that prevents Dasher from inhaling his food too fast, and a new toy that is guaranteed indestructible. Dasher already destroyed the bone once and we were able to exchange it for a new one at no charge. One really cool thing, every Sunday they have a dog walking group that starts at the store at 10am and goes around evergreen walk. Afterward they give out a free doggie treat. It was a lot of fun and Dasher loved it. Plus we have learned that evergreen walk is extremely dog friendly and you can take your dog into most stores. read more

I have been a shopper at Leaps and Bones for over two years, and I love the store. I have a very spoiled 4 year old Yorkie who gets almost everything from there. All of his dog food is a brand that is hard to find except at specialty pet stores (like Leaps and Bones). My dog loves the food and the great variety! I am a firm believe that like humans, pups are what they eat. So I am willing to spend a bit extra on his food than you would a grocery/Petco/PetSmart. He also loves the Bully Sticks that I can only seem to find at Leaps and Bones. The employees are so knowledgeable about all things dog (and probably cat). I have found many great products there for my spoiled dog. The staff always seems to remember my little guy, and when I stop in without him are very upset. I love Leaps and Bones, and my pup does to. Called Christmast Eve find out if they carry a particular probiotic for my dog. Spoke to a young gentleman on the phone why felt was absolutely unhelpful and useless. 45 minutes away didn't wanna take the ride unless they had what I needed. Leaps & Bones is a cute little dog store that my Shih Tzu and I now love going to. Every time I take her for a walk at Evergreen we stop in for a treat or two. I like that the food is healthy and some have a combo of fruit and vegetables. Been trying to substitute her cookies to organic along with her food and thankfully I found some food and snacks that are healthy that she actually likes. The nice lady at the register gave me two samples to give her and she ate them right up. She's really picky so that was great. I also bought a pup cake that was made of carrot, peanut butter and something else I think. She loved it! I tried to save the other half for the next day but she was following me around the house looking at me with those sad puppy eyes so I just gave her the rest. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because its a little pricey, but it's def worth a visit. Good customer service and good products. read more

I swore off this store once before after being turned off by the staff but decided to return since I was at Evergreen Walk and was quickly reminded why I previously decided not to give them my business anymore. I find it quite ironic that it seems to be the only non-dog friendly store there! I don't appreciate being barked orders with a snotty attitude while trying to browse and get a special treat for my sweet and very well-behaved 8 pound Pomeranian. The first time I was told I needed to retract his leash to a specific length and was made to feel unwelcome in general. Yesterday I was scolded for picking up a cookie and putting it back in the big barrel they sit in. I also asked the associate if she wouldn't mind refreshing the water bowl even though I wasn't sure my dog would drink it but could tell he was thirsty. Her response was "there IS still like 2 inches of water in there." I will be sure there isn't a third negative experience at Leaps & Bones. read more
